NOTICE: Please do not use this poll anymore as it has some technical difficulties. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. All votes cast here have been recorded. There is a new poll UNSC Poll 1: How many Directors? II that has been posted. Thank you

Provisional Board of the United Nations Space Consortium

This poll will be open for 7 days, through Sunday, March 7.

Remember to also vote in the other Provisional Board Poll, “UNSC Poll 1: How many Directors?” and to nominate your choice for Board Director at “Nominations for Directors of the UNSC”.

We looked at many different democratic Region’s election cycles and determined that standard practice was usually 3 or 6 months. It is hard to imagine a longer term than six months, given the transient nature of the game and players.

All proceedings of the Provisional Board are brought to you by the Region of Texas.

Please see the main post of the Provisional Board:

3 months (quarterly) seems to be an appropriate period of time within which to assess the competance of a director. Are there any thoughts about a term-limit? It is the opinion of the RCS that a term-limit on the directorship would be detremental to the long-term success of this project. It seems to us ridiculous to oust a successful and productive director solely on the basis of his/her length of service.

I personally would not think a term limit would be productive, but believe that would be question best left to the Board of Directors.

The Rogue Nation of Greenspoint feels that a 3-month term would be sufficient. Given the vagueries of NS and the forums, a 6-month term we feel would be viable but on the extreme high end. Anything less than 3-months seems insufficient for getting any business done.
