The Eagle's Nest is proud to announce that they will be hosting the first annual Eagle's Cup Friendly Football (soccer) tournament.

The inaugural year it will be open to the first 16 teams who apply to particiapte. Future years the tournament will expand to 32 teams.

This tournament will take place in between WCXII and WCXIII. Consider it a tune up to WCXIII.

Teams will be randomly drawn into 4 groups of 4 that will play two matches each in various stadiums around the Eagle's Nest. The top two of each group will qualify to move on to a single elimination to determine the winner.

In the case there is a tie for second place in a group, a playoff game between the two teams will occur. If three teams are tied for 1st or second, Goal Differential will be used to determine the two teams that will ply in the playoff match.

Current World Cup Rankings will be used for this tournament. Scores will be posted during group play, and will be telegrammed during the elimination portion of the tournament.

The tournament is now closed for this year.

I plan to RP that this is in between WCXII and WCXIII.

Threads will be started for RP and scores. Since melmond already posted their roster here, if you wish to edit your post to include yours for all to know, please do so.


I plan to draw groups thursday night US time, and then have first match day be either Friday or Saturday.

I will use my roster from WC XII qualifying. The only adjustments would be updating players ages and changing Kelly Carter's name to Kelly Carter Larson, because if this cup is a year or two after WC XII, then she would have married Thomas Larson by that time.

Due to internal affairs, the Melmond national team will have to bow out of the competition.

We have one spot open. If anyone wants it post here ASAP.
