OOC: Space air traffic control?

Are there any nations who run an air traffic control for spaceships entering and leaving busy planets? I haven't heard of any, but it would sure be a lot more of a realistic thing if one nation took control of a planet's ingoing and outgoing ships. Or is it assumed?

i dont think many people worry about it, but i figure a space tech nation would have a spaceport facility to handle this

I nkow in SW they use entry vectors, in comming ships are assigned incomming vectorsand that keeps traffic moving, though when its bust, ships are assigned oribt vectors until the pattren is clear, just like planes ahve to circle busy airports until the pattrne is clear and a runway is ready

That has always been the case for Foe Hammer.

All Foe Hammer planets have Space Traffic Control/Reentry Control. The Space Navy also controls space traffic around naval vessels, such as Capitol ships, the Flagship and the Colony Ship.

Well, since there are so many nations on NS Earth and since there will always be a war somewhere, centralised traffic control is impossible and rather a security risk. However, you'd be expected to check your launch window for foreign ships, satellites, or other orbiting greeblets, since accidentally hitting some poor schmuck in a space suit is *not* good PR. Possibly there's some sort of decentralised place where nations post their launch times and so on. Or not, in the case of top secret military launches et cetera.
