TCTV1 special elections broadcast:

"Good afternoon. I am Arvi Lind, and this is TCTV1 elections broadcast. I have with me in the studio Heikki Harju, our channel's newly appointed political expert. Heikki, the election rooms have been open since the morning, and quite many people have already cast their votes. Was this expected?"

"Good afternoon, viewers. Yes, I think this was expected. After all, these are te first free elections since duke Juhana VI's time, and people are quite excited about being able to decide upon the parliament again."

"Now, there have been quite a few pre-election polls, with quite a range of results. Would you dare to make a prediction of what our new parliament will look like?"

"Well, very little can be said for certain, but it does seem that the United Socialist Party will be the biggest party in the new parliament. There's really no-one to challenge them, especially as the duke is probably one of their supporters, though he has admitted nothing. Which, of course, is what he should do. I won't start guessing what party will be the second-biggest, but I would say the Right-Wing Coalition, Republicans*, Green Party and Countryside Cannot Be Brought are the parties with a chance in this respect."

"So the Anarchists, Monarchists and Fatherland-party are basically out of the race?"

"That is so. Of course, when the ruling council resigns from power after the new constitutional law has been decided upon, any of the smaller parties might prove important in the forming of the goverment."

"Thank you, Heikki. We now have our reporter Taavi Puukko reporting from one of the main voing sites in Porvoo."

* = supporters of a republic, not Republicans in the US sense of the word.
