Just curious. We are not very active RPers, but we do have the stats, in my opinion.

1. Population: 1.798 billion
2. Economy: Powerhouse
3. Owner of entire solar system.
4. Sizable space fleet and ground forces.
5. An empire that consists of 2 nations (Tasty Foods and Tar Heel Empire)
6. Imperial population: Over 2 billion.

I can't think of much more, but in my opinion, this is enough to be considered a superpower.

I don't know. When other nations do something major, do they always take into consideration how you will react? That is one of the REAL marks of being a Power.

Also. Are you willing to USE your sizeable Armed Forces? When the chips are down, could you go out and annihilate another force? Glass a planet? Commit genocide? Kill civilians, and count it as necessary to kill your enemies?

No offense, but I don't think so.
Your stats qualify you, but not many people know who you are (at least I didn't.)

What I'm saying is that you don't have the international reputation of say...AMF, Menelmacar, or Melkor. They have huge amounts clout that they can call upon. You don't seem to. (AFAIK)

I'd have to agree with CF. I respect you TF but your for the most part not well known and part of being a superpower is being known

There have been so many of these stupid threads (and at least two parody threads) about who's a "superpower" or not. Being a superpower is subjective, and therefore, while you may be a "power" or "superpower" to on nation, you may not be shit on the bottom of a shoe to another.

Someone needs to put an end to these pointless wastes of space on the 1st page of the forum. Mods?

NS is not meant to be a game of "who can create the most nations and bind them unquestionably to each other" its not a game of "OMG I HAEV TEH SOLAR SYSTEM." It's a game of intrigue, espianoge, and, all too often, war. While I tend to agree that most of a ntion's power is ceneterd around their relative military might, most people put too much stock in it. Armies arent any good if you dont know how to use them.

Being a superpower is not based on stats alone. It's how you react in situations with what you have whether it be force or whatever and known in other areas of the world also. You can't be a superpower if you don't expose yourself. Just a thought.

We used to own a 'Solar System' until we got bored with it and blew up its several small planets. And we're not even that powerful! I have a reasonable sized space fleet too!

Now, Melkor....there's a superpower. About a tenth of the Melkor army could probably roll over all of the LRRA, LRRN, LRRAF, and LRRSF combined....but that brings us to top-secret plan G.

If you look at scope, you could call LRR a superpower because we trade with almost everyone, and are nomads so we can go many places. But we are no superpower!! There are a thousand nations, actually far more, with powerhouse economies and populations with over two billion. But what does it matter? Power corrupts, dude!

Personally, I don't really recognize Super Powers. World Powers, of course but IMO in order to be a Super Power you must be vastly superior to other World Powers, in which case no one on NS is.

I also don't see population as power. Using the logic of people=power, would India and China not be the most powerful nations?

I got SEVERAL systems. This guy (although slightly bigger then me) would be CRUSHED by my fleet and army.

We were just asking if the rest of the international community considered us to be superpowers. This wasn't intended to be an ego thread.
