Outer Amazonia - First Government Elections. Please read

19-02-2004, 17:56
"P'elo" or "hello" in your language,
On 1st March 2004, Outer Amazonia will be holding their first government elections since becoming independant from Brasil. The election will be between four candidates and 'their' parties. The four candidates are as follows:
- Francísco de Saménatas (the Green Party),
- Maúro Pele á Pontes (the Conservative Party of South America)
- Sí Aú Pé Xavantíoté (the Xavanté Party of Predatory Jungle Law)
and the current leader of the provisional government of Outer Amazonia:
- Ricardó de Lima oú Caíxa (the Socialist Party of South America).
INFORMATION ON EACH CANDIDATE WILL FOLLOW SOON

However, our first elections cannot happen without a sufficient number of police. So we pledge a request to any nation who wish to see, a newly independant nation have it's first fair election. We ask these nations if they can lend us 400 police officers each for the duration of the election. Without these police officers, we cannot ensure that the election will be fair and that it will ensue without violence which could be enevitable if the Amazonian Rebel Guard get involved.
If any of you nations give Outer Amazonia the help we need during these pioneering times (for Outer Amazonia), we will be happy to provide an alliance which could be useful when our country 'reaches puberty'.
Thank you or "Venigata" as we say in Amazonian,
Good-Bye or "Sililaté" in Amazonia,

(ooc - this is my first rp post... sorry if ive done something wrong)

in order to gain further independance from our former oppressors, the nation of Baratourd wish to build public relations by offering our services in any way during this election. Our nation thrives on law and order, thus ensuring that any force we dispatch to your will be in the form of a highly trained unit.

We would be happy to offer 400 police officers to aid in the democratization of Outer Amazonia. We are willing to extend any help that you may wish in the area of elections organizing. Tanah Burung is a large country with extensive rain forest cover, so we are aware of the special problems that you will face in holding these elections.

Special Thanks to each nation: Tanah Burung, Baratourd, and The Golden Valley. The officers you have sent us are already in action. This is a great honour to have the disciplined officers of superior nations in our country. They are already inproving the situation of crime on the street (as you see in Outer Amazonia's profile, it says - "crime is virtually non-existant"). This is all thanks to the kindness of each of you nations.
The officers have already been briefed on the situation on election day (1st March), and they have been granted to carry weapons to 'cope' with the Amazonian Rebel Guard, if they try to get involved in the election process (the Amazonian Red Guard are a splinter force of our mediocrely sized army who greatly helped Outer Amazonia fight for independance from Brasil). Although this force is trustworthy and works in the interest of our nation, they could get nasty if; Ricardó de Lima oú Caíxa (of the Socialist Party of South America), who is also the head of our Provisional Government, does not look as though he will win the election.
At the moment he is joint favourite with; Sí Aú Pé Xavantíoté (of the Xavanté Party of Predatory Jungle Law) who could be the first Native Indian Leader of a South American Country if; Sí Aú Pé Xavantíoté wins the election.
In reply to; Violeta Bi Bere, of Tanah Burung, thank you for realising that having intense rainforest cover can make things harder for a nation to grow, or; "reach puberty", or democratize.
In reply to The Golden Valley, your earlier mistake of raiding a Xavanté village in our nation has been totally forgiven. Outer Amazonia appreciates your help greatly, and would like to request extra military (as you offered), if things get really out of hand on Election Day.
In reply to Baratourd. Thank you for your support. We would be more than happy to build public relations with you in aid of further independance from your oppressors.
OPRESSORS WILL CORRUPT THE WORLD, IF NOT DEALT WITH.
I would like to extend a treaty in the form of a "handshake" to each of you if that would be appreciated. check your telegrams soon for this treaty.

A Message from the People’s Republic of Teakland

On behalf of the humble people of Teakland, we would like to congratulate the people of Outer Amazonia on their upcoming democratic elections. It is always good to hear of a new nation's desire to participate in the democratic process.

Unfortunately, however, we are unable to send any peacekeeping force to Outer Amazonia to provide additional protection for Election night. Our own country is in the midst of our own difficulties at this time, and our government feels that it is unwise to spread our military too thinly at the moment. If you wish, however, we can provide you with a number of ballot-counting machines to aid in the vote-counting process. These machines have been tested in experimental conditions to cut ballot-counting time by over 3/4, with a 0.3% margin of error. Unfortunately, however, that is all Teakland can offer you at this time.

If you would like us to provide you with our counting machines, simply contact us and we will have them delivered within three days. We hope that your elections run smoothly, and thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Garreth Kohl
Minister of Peace

Due to unforseen circumstances Baratourd regrets to announce that we must recall ALL troops sent to assist in your elections.

On Behalf of President Watanabu we give our full apologies, our nation has been awash with riots recently due to "controversial" decisions and laws, such as the legalisation of euthanasia and the quelling workers strike.

It is not guaranteed but if our police and military forces manage to quieten the rioters before or during your elections we shall dispatch the force once again.
