Due to the recent increase of attacks upon Klonor ships throughout the Empire and unclaimed systems the fleet Admirals have begun to feel that the risk to patrol ships has become to great to leave unattended. While most patrol areas are either in unclaimed areas, where a quick Sub-Space hop is easily done, or in a Klonor system, where support is readily available, the Sol system is an anomoly. In use by hundreds of stellar navies it is difficult to maneuver through Sub-Space, and due to our lack of interest in the system we are unwilling to commit massive forces to patrolling the area. So, we seek a third option.
Recently constructed at the shipyards in the Gamma Draconis system, the Ganymede class Mobile Dock Figere has been moved to a stable orbit around the central star in the Sol system. A fully operational stellar space dock, this ship will enable the the few ships of the Klonor Space Corps stationed in the Sol system to continue their operations unimpeded. The Figere will be able to supply, repair, and upgrade any Klonor ship stationed in the system, severely reducing the number of ships required to be in-system. Also, it will enable us to transfer more ships to the Sol system, should the need ever arise, without draining support from ships stationed in other systems. Hopefully this will enable us to continue our patrols of the Sol system without putting unnecessary risk upon the crewmen of the patrol craft or putting a drain upon the resources of our Space Corps.
Ganymede class Mobile Space Dock
The GDI Ganymede is Klonor’s newest repair and resupply facility. Ganymede installations are currently deployed behind the front lines in the Regulus, Epsilon Pegasi, and Gamma Draconis systems. Each Ganymede can service up to five warships simultaneously. Repairs of any type or degree can be made here, on any ship in the Klonor fleet. Ganymedes also provide retrofitting services, enabling Allied Command to extend the lifetime of aging ships by upgrading weaponry, systems, and engines.
