Outskirts of Norhtampton

The black Nissan S15 slowly started pulling away from the yellow Dodge. The driver of the Viper couldn't believe his eyes as the Nissan increased its seperation. A sound similar to a jet engine filled the air around the Silvia.

However, neither the driver nor the passenger of the Nissan cared about the Viper, and at the light, turned, leaving the Dodge to go hunt for another topic. Instead, a celebration was to be had.

The driver pulled over, and leaned over, gentlly kissing his passenger. She kissed back. "Happy birthday babe," he said, slowly undoing her jeans.

Christin just smiled back. She was finally 18.

Dun Adien, The Shield, Iansisle

Duchess Christin Chaffin's eyes blinked open. She looked over at the small stereo in her room. 7:13 am, local time. And old habbits died hard. She cliked the 'play' button, and Less Than Jake began to play loudly. She sat on the edge of her bed, and dressed quickly.

She jumped outa bed, and ran out of the room towards James', and began banging on the door. She opened it, and jumped onto his bed, waking him. She smiled her signature smile, and kissed him. "Guess whose 26th birthday it is?"

He shrugged, knowing full well it was her's, and she slapped him playfully.

She rolled off his bed, and stood. "Listen, I know that I didn't really srop any hints for my birthday present or anythgin, but I just kinda wanted to do one thing for my birthday."

She had practicved this speach several times infront of the mirror, and was now ready for it.

"I wanna go home for my birthday."

OOC: I know its not really open right now, but give it a few posts, and give Iansisle time to make the birthday anouncement (I cant be expected to do everything around here, lol, jk), and it'll be more open.

((Oh, sure, leave me with all the real work! ;)))

"Oof," grinned James as he was jolted out of a very pleasent dream into an even better one.

He lounged in the bed while Christin got up and went into her speech. "Just one thing?" he asked. "Anything you'd like, love," James said with an faux air of pomp and circumstance. "Just name it, and your will shall be done."

However, James wasn't quite ready for what the request was. "Home?" he asked. "Home, as in Northampton?" He frowned. "Cris, I don't mean to be a scrooge, but isn't that rather dangerous? I mean, y'know, what with all the turmoil and all?"

But he saw her expression, and sighed inwardly. "But if it's Imitora you want to go to, it'll be Imitora where we go."

Christin smiled, and jumped back into the bed, hugging him. "Thank you!" she said, enthusiastically. She had to call home, and set up reservations at one of the nicer beach houses, but it would be wonderfull. For the first time in over a year, shed be home.

She rolled out of bed, and walked back to the door. She turned and looked at James, and smiled. "I love you," she grinned, and left.

"Love you too," grinned James as she vanished down the corner. He then rubbed his eyes and checked his own analog alarm clock. Darn. He'd been assuming that a seven-thirty wakeup call would've been enough time to lay a surprise breakfast in bed down for Christin. Oh, well - lesson learned.

With the stumbling, rubbery legs of one who had just awoken, he rolled out of bed, lurched himself into the shower, and turned it up to hot.

The shower, as a matter of fact, was a new addition to Dun Adien. There hadn't even been running water on the island when the castle was first built. James had insisted on having the shower installed, as a part of his modernizing reforms, though he now wasn't sure if it was to put a face on for the public or for him to wallow in luxuriously.

While the hot water pelted down on him, James ran through a mental checklist. He had reservations made at one of the nicest downtown Ianapalis resturants - under the name of Mr. and Ms. S. Brown - but Christin sounded as if she wanted to leave at once.

After a couple minutes, he towled off and quickly dressed.

Dont worry much...

((Somehow, that makes me worry more! :P))

Chrisitin hung up the phone after telling her parents she was going to visit home. She then proceded to call one of the fancier beach villas, reserving the house for a week or so. She then proceded to call the head of Imitoran Travel Affairs to alert the government to their arival.

Chrisitn strolled back into James' room, just as he was finishing getting dressed, and gave him the run down.

"We can leave tommorow, and spend the week their. My parents will be there, and the Ministry of Forigen Affairs is gonna send an ambasador. I've already rented a car for us, and all thats left is to send out the invites for my," she paused, feeling like a teenager in high school again, "birthday bash."

OOC: Next post intros my new Foriter character.

"Your birthday bash?" chuckled James. "Boy-howdy; this sounds like we're gonna be having us quite the time!" He dropped the exaggerated west Tharian accent.

"Did you say that Foreign Affairs is going to be sending out an ambassador?" he asked, pulling a shirt over his head. That didn't sound too great: he was a little cautious wherever the actual Imitoran government was concerned.

"Now, then, since we've a bit of time before we have to get ready, I owe you a breakfast!" He took her hand and started to lead her out. "Now, I know what you're thinking, but I've been having Quinton give me a few culinary lessons; hopefully, it shouldn't be too bad."

"Good morning, your majesty; happy brithday, your grace," said Weathers as they walked by his post.

Christin smiled. "Im sure its more of a diplomatic thing, just to say happy birthday from the government. And I'm sure your cooking will be fine."

Matt stepped out of his office in downtown New Husdon. He walked out of the government building, and across the street to his apratment. He had to fly down to Northampton to represent the Imitoran government for some birthday thing. He didn't quite get it, but didn't matter. He was getting paid for it.

There wasn't much demand for someone who had spent 14 years in the ICMC, 12 of which in the ICMC Scout Sniper devision.

He had been all over the world, both overt and covertly. He had been in Iansisle watching over former President John Ngyuen, in Larkinia durring the overthrow of General Grant, and disturbingly in Deazeman, with the cross hairs of his rifle settled on the head of King Icarus III, should hte order come through. He had over 93 confirmed kills in Markov, and enough head shots in Imitora durring the Civil War.

He now owned a small law firm and trading firm, and made a decent sum of cash. Because of this, he was an official representative of Imitora, and one of the citizen representatives.

He finished packing and pulled on a black tshirt and kahki pants that fit nicely to his form. On his right bicep was a tattoo, "Vir Nihil est Donec Alium Venatus Erit'", the moto for the Imitoran Colonial Marine Corps Sniper Scout Unit. A man is no man till he has hunted another.

He walked across teh street, and climbed into his black Nissan S15 Silvia.

((You could let me take a look at it...I'm only second semester, but I've a pretty good handle on what's going on and a decent dictionary. ;) What's it say in English?))

Christin smiled. "Im sure its more of a diplomatic thing, just to say happy birthday from the government. And I'm sure your cooking will be fine."

"If you say so, love," James smiled. Everytime they happened upon any household servant, they were sure to wish Christin a happy birthday.

Her confidence in James' cooking skills may have been slightly misplaced. At least he didn't manage to burn the scrambled eggs, or rather, not too badly.

Christin was used to military food, and the eggs were fine by her standards. She quickly gulped them down. She also enjoyed the fact that everyone was wishing her a happy birthday. She only dated one guy who ever remebered her birthday.

She sipped coffee in her room, sitting on the bed, looking out the window. It had been far too long since she had gone to Northampton, one of the richest cities in Imitora. She played with her hair that she had let grow long, and though back to her memories of home, beofre the military.

She hoped the party would be one of the old parties she was used to in Northampton...

((I think, and remember I'm no expert, 'vir nihil est donec alium venatus erit'; 'a man is nothing until he has hunted another'. Remember, that's only an "I think" ;)))

James fixed himself a plate and settled in next to Christin. He chatted simply for a while, asked her if she thought there'd be time to go out to dinner tonight.

However, something about the way her face looked - a little distant, perhaps, as if she were already somewhere else - made him a tad worried. "Is everything all right, Cris?" he asked, concerned.

"Uh?" she asked snapping out of her trance like state. "Oh, yeah. Fine, just thinking about home. Haven't been there since the summer after I turned 18. Left for the military, and have been deployed ever since. Its gonna be wierd, seeing everyone I know from back home."

She paused, and then a new train of thought entered her head.

She had been quite the social one in high school, and had her fare share of significant others.

She could only hope she didn't run into any of them, as it was quite posible that it would present an awquard situation. She sighed, pushed the thought out of her head, and leaned back into James' arms.

"So who are you inviting?"

James smiled. “I can’t wait to meet your parents,” he said. “Now that I’ve heard so much about them and all.”

He settled back, wrapping his arms around her. “Well, love, we should probably keep it fairly close in the family. Maybe just Jeff, Kate, and dad?” He was going to suggest that they bring the twins and Conner too, but something stopped him. Christin’s home or not, they were going to Imitora, and that was the last place he wanted to bring children.

“Were you thinking of a longer list?” he asked softly while using his right hand to gently tuck a stray strand of hair behind her head.

"Hmm? No, that sounds like a good list to me. Keep it small and what not."

Of course, she had also talked to her younger brother, who was just comming into his late party stage, and at 17, was sure to get a good crowd at the villia she rented. And there were also her old friends from high school, and a few military buddies.

She wanted a party like her 18th, the one she didn't really remeber anything of after 3:00am. of course, she was also turning 26, and she now needed to act more adult. But one last bash would be accpetable. She supressed a knowing smile.

OOC: Evil grin...soon my pretties...and Lark, dont worry, Jeff'll be fine this time around. Should there be trouble, Jeff'll be sure to be safe...

"Less flyer plane tickets to buy, too," said James, nodding his head.

"Somehow, Cris," he said, "I get the feeling when you say 'party,' you don't mean the minuet and finger sandwiches. Should I have a riot squad on standby?"

Christin just looked at James' and smiled. "Hun, you aint never partied till you been to a Northampton party."

She leaned back on the bed, and smiled up at James. She had started to let her hair grow long, and it now touched her shoulders. It was a new look for her.

"Don't worry babe, this'll be a great time."

James laughed. "I was feeling just a little bit dead; I guess this explains it." He started massaging her foot gently.

"I don't think Princeton would want me within a thousand leagues of a party like that, which is the best reccomendation it's gotten yet."

He leaned forward and kissed her on the cheek. "Don't worry, love, I know it will be. Any time I spend with you is great."

The Boeing 777 landed at Northampton Intl. just as the sun was breaking over the shore. Christin was jolted awake by the landing, and she looked out the window, grinning like a three year old in a toy store.

She represed a tear as she all but pressed her face against the glass of the window, pearing out over the wing to the waters breaking on the sand She looked over at James, and hugged him. "This is gonna be perfect."

James pried his hand from the handrest and hoped the company wasn't going to sue him for leaving perminant impressions in it.

After a short prayer for a landing he was able to walk away from, he embraced Christin. "I know, love."

And it will be even more perfect the less we have to deal with the Imitoran authorities he added silently, before standing to collect their luggage.

The man aproached James and Christin with an almost menacing walk. He wore a black polo shirt, jeans, and a pair of mirrored aviator glasses. As he closed the distance, he cleared his throat then spoke in a somewaht soft, yet authoritative voice. "Excuse me, I'm looking for a," he paused, and hopped he had read the briefing correctly, "Fireball and a king."

Christin turned at the voice, and looked at the man for a moment. When he removed is sunglasses, she grined, and ran up to the man, hugging him. "Christ Matt, I can't believe its you," she spoke, looking him over with an air of awe.

"Yeah, I tend to just apear out of the shadows every now and then. Its been to long, Chafin, or should I say, your Higness." Christin blushed.

She looked at James, and held out her hand. "James, this is Matt Heath, a," she paused, "friend from way back. Matt, this is my fiancé, James."

"Oh, so I'm just a friend now?" he asked, half joking, half serious. He looked at James, and smiled pleasantly. "I'm here to represent the Imitoran government, and of course, to attend an old friend's party."

James looked from Christin to the newcomer - Matt - and then back again. Frankly, he was surprised; he hadn't been expecting even this much courtesy and formality from the Imitoran government.

"Matt, is it?" he asked, extending a hand to shake. "It's a pleasure to meet you at last; I've heard quite a bit about you*"

James glanced about the airport. "It's been a while since I've been in Imitora. Nice to be back," he lied through his teeth.

Christin could all but feel the tension from James. She smiled anyways, and looked at Matt. "So how are things back home?" she asked.

"Eh, same ol same ol. More socies thinking that capitalism is the work of the Devil, the Fifth took care of that. Parties are still parties, cars are still cool, waves are kickin. I dunno babe, you shoulda stayed home when you got out. It hasn't been the same without ya."

Christin smiled. She really did miss home, even as much as she enjoyed living in Iansisle. There was just something about being home. "So you drive?"

"Of course. Car's outside. Why dont we grab your stuff, and get goin. Everyone's gonna wanna see ya."
