Football World under 21 Cup (I) Registration [FULL]

Liverpool England
15-02-2004, 11:49
All right, so we've now got something new - not exactly new, but it is new. An under 21 cup, where players would earn under 21 caps. Remember that if a player plays for nation X in this cup, and has not played for a second nation Y, he can play for Nation Y at senior (WC, 4 nations, CoH, BoF) level. However, if he has played for X at senior level, he cannot play for Y at u-21 level.

HOST - Total n' Utter Insanity

Max Age Limit - max 3 players over 21 but under 23

American or British football?

You mean, "rest of the world" football.

But yes, not American football, with only two guys on a team of 54 actually using their feet.

Er, its "Worldwide." Football. But by that, this is a soccer tournament.

But where's the fun in that? Where's the broken limbs? The blood? The sweat? The sexy cheerleaders in skimpy cloths? Janet's boobs? Just kidding on the last one. :)

Just as a question- can it not be based on the rankings seen in the World Cup- as because its a under 21 tournament, rankings change far more quickly and often the best teams in the senior World Cup arent also the best in Under 21 (case in point- look at the last two Olympic winners- thats under 23 I realise- but the Under 21 has a reasonably similar reputation)
Ravenspire
16-02-2004, 11:05
Yes, and let's not have it impact the World Cup rankings, either. I already don't have time to do justice to one football tournament, I'd hate to have to choose between hurting my ranking in that one or joining another thread and not feeling I'm contributing up to par. 8)

Learning from the bloated and inefficient WCC, I'd suggest we put down a bunch of rules now. I'm coming up with a new system [ranking and formula] for U21 called KPR, more detail later. Independant Result Generation. 32 Nation Cap. 2 Week Competition. Puppets removed for real nations. More later.
