I set these pretty low, but I need to keep this newb/n00b free. Not just because of RP quality, but because I don't have enough intel on new nations.

Secret IC to Respected Nations: Kaukolastan has begun R&D on the Electro-Magnetic Sniper Rifle, also dubbed the Pulse-Magnetic. This rifle works by:

Delivering an overloading EM surge to the target, up to six hundred meters away, which will overload the nervous system and/or stop the heart. In effect, it will trigger cardiac arrest, stroke, and seizures, killing the target without a bullet wound. It is expected to leave electrical burns, but these will be hard to identify, even with autopsy.

We believe that an ion stream will be sufficient, inside of a magnetic catapult system, but we are facing two problems... power supply and burnout. If any nation can provide a sufficient power supply and burnout prevention, they are welcome to reap the benefits of this new covert sniper weapon.

This system must be man-portable and easy to deploy.

You might have better luck with a microwave-based system; you'd need a pretty fricken huge EMP to seriously damage the nervous system, and that would be easily and immediatly detectible by secondary effects in surrounding electronics. A microwave gun would be more detectible in autopsy, but otherwise more descrete all around, and far less power hungry.

Range dissipation and possible focusing meganisims are largly unknown; we've never bothered developing extended range mircowave weapons for a lack of need.

Powerplant research continues.

A fuel cell has been devoloped that delivers sufficient overload power. Construction of prototype has begun.
