Following the death of Comrade Dharix, the nation's first Chairman, in a bomb attack [OOC:thread no longer available, due to country deletion and resurrection], the country had unfortunately descended into political turmoil. Not a single Praesidium lasted a whole year, while the politics of the struggle aginst the terrorists of the Free Market Brigade became a central campaign issue. The economy was brought into stagnation and even sporadic recession by quinquennal plans few of which lasted their entire first semestrial sub-plan, for political backstabbing was rife in those days, and new plans were rushed over those of defeated leaders. As the population grew increasingly disgruntled, the FMB increasingly agressive, and government ever more troubled, the country folded in upon itself, depserately trying to deal with its problems, oblivious to the continent of Aperin around it and its CACE allies. But the situation couldn't last; finally, things began to improve: Sigrid Andtern has kept her Praesidium-with all the key fgures of the Dharix years restored- in power for two years now, while coherent strategies for dealing with the FMB and the economy have paid off, respectively with the dismantling of a numbe rof terrorist cells, and economic recovery to a moderate growth rate of 2.6% for last year.
And today, Fouad Saluki, once again Praesident of Foreign Affairs, has officially announced Cirdanistan will resume its role on the world stage.

Fouad moped his brow.if only they knew how hairy it got at moments...a few years back i would have sworn we'd see civil war come of it...but it's past
He thanked the SeOCCs for their kind offer of assistance, and told them not much out of the ordinary was likely to be needed-nothing big had blown up, and with the vital production infrastructure working at full capacity again it wa sonyl a question of time before the full economic might of the country was restored.Or so Aïsha had told him...
