OOC: Uber-tech: Who here uses it?
I'm bringing up tech levels for a puppet of mine... Just wondering as to who here actually RPs this tech level.
Uber-tech as in FTL, C-fractional missiles, anti-gravity, etc.
I'm fairly high tech... but also magic, with both working together.

This nation is, I believe "ubertech", but I try to only use it in stories, never player vs. player wars. The technology is a means to tell a story, and I can't both "fight" in NS and write the best material, so I went with the story aspect.
My ubertech includes:
Dimensional travel, Antimatter weapons, time manipulation, psyonics, and even a bit of classic magic (but that's not from my side, that's from another "group" I deal with). This list is why I'm rare in the forums, and when I do post, it's a character RP, for the most part. If anyone still wants to play, let me know. :)

i suggest using 1950 Tech.

Those things are hardly true über tech yet. They are fairly future tech but not really über tech. IMHO, singularities, phasing into other dimensions etc. that sort of stuff is true über tech. As are IMHO FTL sensors that can detect everything, FTL comms with which you can talk to the other side of the galaxy at real time and so on.
Also, its not hard to have a c-fractional missile. Just have a fairly big missile with a dense plasma focus engine and good amount of fuel, and you can accelerate it long enough for it to reach c-fractional velocities.
Remember, its not the velocity in space what matters, everything that matters is ACCELERATION.
I'm close to what is considered ubertech. I have the usual FTL, and the laser weapons, and the nifty technobabble.
There's actually a large number of NS players who use ubertech (Or, as its more commonly known, space tech) and most have the standards (what I listed above). However, a large number of them even go beyond that. They're the ones who have the time travel, the instantaneous transport, the 1 shot planet killers, etc. When people say "ubertech" that's usually what they refer to.
There's not as many ubertechers as spacers (unless you count the n00bs who have 3,000 fleets of Death Stars and Sun Crushers), but there are enough in both catagoreys for you to have fun.
Oh, I also run an entire chain of space tech stores. If you want anything (I sell ships, weapons, defensive systems, and smaller ships for new nations) I'll give you the links (I usually have a button on my browser that pastes it automatically, but I'm at school and don't have access to that button). Just gimme a holler

OOC: I'm pretty biased against anything that's not modern-tech, or plausible future-tech, like laser weaponry or hovering tanks. Hell, if I can kill it with a modern weapon, I'll accept it.
