Hey everyone,
I'm considering starting up an RP soon, that is basically a hunt for the creatures of the earth that terrorize mankind. One one side, we'll have characters who RP the monsters (Werewolf, Mummy, Frankenstein, Dracula, etc.). On the other side we'll have the basic hunters of the world, equipped with basically the tools and weapons available to mankind around the late 1700's, early 1800's. There will be NO future tech stuff allowed either. If you can provide a good argument for me to allow a different species other than human to join in as the hunters or the hunted, then I'll allow it.

One more thing, I'm the werewolf :twisted: !!

This will be a limited entry RP, basically will have AT MOST 10-12 people.

As for the speed of the thread, it depends on each individual, just try to keep up if we do move somewhat quickly.

I was under the impression that the hunted were supposed to be non-human ... is that not a good enough argument? :idea:

Maybe some small amount of magic, enough to teleport a limited distance a limit amount of times, or maybe fly a bit ... yeah, flying sounds good. And a limited ability to change shape (grow some useless, but nevertheless groovy appendages). Humanoid shape, maybe a bit taller. Armed with a pump-action crossbow.

There's the basics, it can be further ellaborated on upon your approval of the general concept - motives and specifics and so such.

Edit: Also, there will be disadvantages and so such, but I think they would be best not all told straight away. Let the heros find it out.

Failing that, a vampire sounds funky (they're so overused though!)

All right now, we've got quite a few of us signed up for monsters. 5CN, do you think you could take up another monster instead? Just to keep the variety more fun. Preferably one of the "traditional" monsters, as mentioned above.

We need to get some more hunters now. I've only got one signed up for it. Who else is willing to take the reigns and fight the evilness of the world? I need more people to sign up!

OOC: If you'll allow Whiptail into this, I'll partake as both a hunter and as one of the hunted. The hunters hunt him because they believe him to be some sort of supernatural being, since he looks the very picture of a lizard-man. Whiptail would be about 50-something at this point, still a regular Argonian and armed with a saber... really a very different character.

ooc: if you allow me into this, I could be a Vampire Warlord {or just a leader, if warlord is not allowed. And it would be cool to see an Argonian in this.

I offer you another monster as well, dragons, (there my nations national animal.), they are good fighters, can fly and have fire breath.
I shall give you 5, if you want more TG me and I will do so.

Assistant: HK-47(He is a droid, and I know there is no future tech. But he is an android and will act like a human and follow the rules, he will use none of his computerized abillitys, if you still dont want him in then TG me and I will remove him.)

Sorry double post, I am a hunter just for the record.

Klington, you're in as a hunter. No dragons are needed, and are not quite the type of monsters being hunted. Also, keep the droid out, it is after all circa 1800.

Basic weapons can be any weapons that existed before 1800, and will include guns, but not modern tech guns, basically old fashioned rifles and old fashioned pistols. Bows and arrows are accepted, as are crossbows, etc.

I've got one last open spot for a hunter...another spot is held aside for another player whom I haven't talked to yet. If they decide to not join, then I'll obviously open that position up.

Well I am happy to fill any role in this, although I would prefer to play a villan of some sorts. I need practice for a new character turning up. If there are no more villans, I will be a hunter (a new one of course, time periods and all.) And I think it would be helful to those who are too lazy, to set some ideas of vampires, mummies etc down? How they are defeated? And also, one last thing, keep the number of people low. That way you can have a tighter rp....

Oh and Gods sake, have villains who are "evil" for a good reason.

Inquisition eh? this should be fun...(gulps)....lol

And yes, people...as Kain suggested, do try to create a decent background for your characters. Even if they're considered "evil", it wouldn't hurt to have them strive for the good, yet still be hunted.

Name: Ayelith Dakonis

Short info thingy:

Ayelith is a creature from the place which humans commonly call 'hell', though was in all actuality born on Earth due to irrelevant circumstances. Early on in life he discovered that he could do whatever he damn well pleased, and made a living in flying about in a body altered in order to seem like one of the worst humanoid demons that ever roamed in Hell. He makes quite a good living that way, flying down, shooting whoever gets in his way, stealing whatever it was that he wished, then flying off again. Somethimes he took long enough to suck the soul from some random passerby, something essential to every demon's diet.
His usual form involves long wings, either batlike or like those of an oversized dragonfly, without the bottom section. Sometimes he goes in for the red glowing eyes thing which seems to scare the ignorant peasants so much.

Well i guess i could be something like Dracula. i just need more details on what type of role you want me to play. ex: a shadow that creeps into people's homes and sucks out their blood, an undead, an undead warlord {which would be really cool}

Arani: sounds good, but make sure you put on here a description of its weakness that could be used to defeat it. Doesn't mean that it will die, just keeping the beast's power reasonable, if you know what I mean.

Shicho: Good then, you're in, you can be a sort of vampire renegade warlord...not quite sure why you want to be a warlord, but...ok...I hope I'm not gonna regret it....

I know I've said this before but I'll say it again. Too many times have I seen people go godmodding on their characters.

keep your characters within reasonable strength/defeat/magic/whatever means!!!

Yes, they can be strong, but that doesn't mean they can be indestructible either. You know what I mean, look at the numerous movies of these monster vs. hunters...

Igor walked through the echoing hallways of Schloss von Verfall, his clubbed foot dragging behind, leaving trails in the layer of dust. He turned left, down into stairwell that twisted beneath the castle, into the very bedrock below. The lower he went, the louder the screams of agony became. Igor stumbled down the steps with difficulty and was glad to reach the bottom, and the Doctor's lab.

The screams were at full volume now, set to a background of electrical cracking that arced wildly through the pitches of human hearing. At a podium in front of Igor stood the Doctor himself, facing away from him into the pit at the centre of the room. The Doctor, sensing his presence, spun around and faced Igor. The electical nightmare stopped abruptly, "Why doesn't she die!?" he cried striding across the room to Igor, snatching up a cruelly shaped, insanely sharp implemet from a nearby table, "I fear I may have to operate on this one Igor!"

"It could be difficult mathter, the werewolveth are famouth for their regenerative abilitieth."

The Doctor paused, "Yes, you're right. I shall need my silver equipment. And soon, I want this project over and done with. What is you wanted?"

"The peasanth in the local village mathter, they have become dethperate. I rethieved word that they are thending out for hunterth. Many hunterth."

"Well, inform my guards and keep me informed of any developments. I'd rather not release any of the creatures but I will if I must. Is that all?"

"Yeth mathter, I shall have your thilver equipment thent down immediately thur."

Now that i think about it. a vampire warlord doesnt really fit in with this. so i have a better idea.

Dracula's story:

Dracula was born to an infantryman. His father gave him a good education, and after leaving school at the age of 19, Dracula became the local Mayor's clerck. he worked for 17 years, untill the Mayor died. he was then named as mayor. he married and had two sons. his wife died when giving birth to the second son, so Dracula had to raise his children on his own. 15 years later, he was named as a Count in a larger town. He did not know however, that there was a local nobelman who demanded that all new officials pay him if they want to hold office. Dracula, refused to pay a bribe. this angered the nobel, who sent two gun armed assasins to eliminate Dracula. One of the assasins held two matchlock pistols, which were used on dracula's 16 and 15 year old sons. Dracula, having heard the shots, drew his father's saber and struck down the gunner. but he had not seen the second assasin, who sent a bullet straight into Dracula' heart, and then fled. but something was wrong. Dracula refused to leave the Earth untill his sons were avenged. he defied heaven and hell and returned to earth as an undead. he swore that he will not leave earth untill he tastes the blood of the men responsible for his death. since dracula had no blood of his own and feeds on the blood of travelers and prostitutes. he noe lurkes the land, and feeds on the blood of innocents.

Armor: wrist bracers, though they're more for decoration.
Weapons: None. She has fangs and "taloned" fingers.
Weaknesses: All the usual stuff. Beheading is a sure-fire way to kill her. She has some regenerative powers, but they are slow acting. Minor cuts and scrapes will heal in just under a day.

Let me know if anyone needs more clarification.

Hey guys, one thing I'd like to request you all do is this:

Try to create characters that are well rounded. For example, put in personal struggles, prejudices, hidden motives, etc. I won't offer any more stuff though, you should be smart enough to figure something out.

I'm currently typing up the beginning post to start off the thread, but it won't be launched until I hear from Five Civilized Nations.

Character: John King
Human
Weapons: Kentucky Rifle, Flintlock Pisotl, Large (12'') knife, shotgun
Motive: His wife and son were killed (more like eaten) by a creature that appeared to be (by the tracks) some sort of wolf. He followed the prints into town were they stopped at the cobbler's house. The cobbler was half naked and his face was covered with blood and a pieace of Ms. King's dress in his teeth. John shot him and gathered his things and left town to make sure this never happened to anyone else.

OOC: Grr... wanna start! Wanna start now!

Then I'd suggest that somebody goes and wakes up Mr. 5 Civilized Nations lol :lol: :twisted:

Hey, I thought of a good movie that you all could relate to in regards to the timeline. It's the movie, "The Patriot".

It's got accurate descriptions of the clothing and weapons available around this timeline. I strongly suggest you check this movie out, or just refresh your memory on it, and use what you learn from it as a sort of source of information.

My character will, of course, have weaknesses, but seeing that no one has defeated him as of yet, there is no need for everyone to know them, even ooc. No need to rely on other people's roleplaying ability then, let the hunters do some research or trial and error ... or whatever they want to do.

Just a quick question. what are the monsters being hunted again?

They're listed back on the bottom of page 2 maybe? That or page 1, and descriptions are scattered throughout.

Erm, any idea where this is located? (A map would be nice). Or should we just make up stuff as we go along? Throw a mountain up there, a chasm here, and so such?

HMM...good question...It's located in the western region of the American colonies. Let's just say that this is in the area of present-day Pennsylvania.

It is a sort of moutainous region, with the village mentioned in my posts being at the base of one of the mountains. That's the terrain around my character. Obviously, we can't have our other monsters still in Europe, so you'll have to simply "relocate" them somehow...imaginatively. Whoever controls their own monster is granted permission to create their own scenery around their character...ie: town, village, landscape, etc.

According to the timeline it is now currently 13 years after the American Revolution ended...umm....if I have my knowledge correct, the Treaty of Paris, which ended the war, was signed on September 3, 1782, and ratified on April 17, 1983.

To keep this simple, the year is 1796.
