ZeroNews Daily Report - February 6, 2004

[ZN, Nittles] Yesterday behind closed doors at an undisclosed location, Zeronian and Menelmacari representatives met to discuss the future of Zeronian Industrial Military Manufacturers (ZIMM) and its over 85 000 employees. The topic of discussion was strictly business, more specifically, the future management of ZIMM as a company. Zeronia’s largest military manufacturer was recently seized by the government after an unforeseen corporate scandal in the massive socialist nation. Out of the discussion arose an agreement that would contract out the Fëanor Holdings Group (FHG) with executive power over ZIMM for the next fifteen years. While Zeronia would still be the primary backer of ZIMM, seven individuals from the Fëanor Holdings Group would oversee day-to-day operations. FHG would also receive a gross cut of 30% of the company’s profits.

Surely, as the Premier stated earlier today, both parties will benefit greatly from this partnership. Professor of Economics at the University of Nittles estimates that with the information he has about FHG and ZIMM, he expects profits to increase five-fold by the end of the fifteen-year contract. That’s just a conservative estimate. Although some members of the High Ministry reported fear of a “corporate invasion”, the Associate Premier laid their fears to rest just minutes ago:

“… outcries by the High Ministry are not necessary. Describing the agreement as a ‘corporate invasion’ is nothing more than melodrama. ZIMM was in private hands before and will be in private hands again, only this time it will be in the hands of responsible, well-organized individuals who do their job with the highest of ethical standards. There has never been progress without taking a gamble. I assure you that the world-renowned Fëanor Holdings Group has our trust, and all employees of ZIMM should trust them as well.”

There has yet to be a public announcement by the Fëanor Holdings Group on the deal, but we will have full coverage as the story unfolds.
