I have made version 8, which has much more in the way of features, however it may be the last one my nation makes, however we would like to continue fixing bugs and adding features according to what people say, meaning that the build number will increase as I make changes instead of releasing a new version.

Please suggest ideas.

I hope it is of use and we'll just have to see how many more come or how much this is upgrade to how you want it!

http://twr.1colony.com/ver8/calc8.0.html

I hope you like the new right click function to make it easier to scroll pages. Tell me of any problems or ideas you have please.

Thank-you

On behalf of the head of the Enerican Software Industry.

Instead of numbers, "NaN" shows up.

It means not a number, it appears if you haven't selected a certain option, tell me what you entered.

Sorry, don't put commas in numbers, the calculator doesn't understand it yet.

Not realistic. No nation should conscript roughly 5% of their population no matter how milistaristic... look at North Korea, they only have 3 or 4%. That's the highest in the world.

Thanks, I think I will alter that, they were only starting guess figures.

Yes you're right...

This is a good calculator but I think the excel calculators are probably the most realistic.

Nation: Nanakaland

Population: 1280000000

Economy: weak

Military percent: 5%

Average earnings Per Person: 1500USD per Month

Average earnings Per Person: 18000USD per Year

This means your GDP is 1920000000000 USD per month.

Per year this is 23040000000000 USD.

The government gets 1920000000000 USD per Month.

The government gets 23040000000000 USD per Year.

Your military will be roughly 5% of the population. So roughly 64000000

Your retired will be roughly 35% of the population. So roughly 448000000

Okay. That's a bit high. Perhaps you should fix it. I only have a 2% population of military.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, keeping that 3 or 4% fed, clothed, armed, housed and trained severely affect their economy. I'll agree that most nations militaries are far from realistic, including mine, but I think EVERYONE needs to keep in mind that the larger a force you have, the more your economy suffers. A 10% military would put you into economic ruin people.

/hijack.

Great calculator. One of the best yet. Looking forward to more features, which I assume will come due to the 'suggest code' link...

Also, I the next version should include support percentages. About half your land forces should be support, 75% air force and navy should be support.

I like the simplicity, but I have a few quibbles.

- As previously stated, 7% of the population in the military is hard to believe.

- I like the fact that the cost per soldier is included. I'm not sure who posted something about the quality of combatant is directly linked to the money spent per soldier, but I'm glad you included it.

- You seem to have made the national budget too large a fraction of the GDP. The US national budget is roughly 20% of the GDP, for example. This will affect the rest of the numbers.

I know you don't want to make sweeping changes (for good reason- there's a lot of work evident here), but perhaps a few more options in the "militaristic" category might be in order.

Once again, good job. For those who prefer to use the Excel calculators (especially the PBMC), this will be an invaluable aid in generating military budgets- and therefore detailing military strength.

Thank-you. I think I will do as you said and add a few more options, check back in a few days and see please, I should have done it by then.

bump, I know my thread is quite old but I don't want to create another, and I'm still interested. Especially if there is anyone out there who can program as well.
