For The Prince! (Roanian Civil War; Closed now)
It was evening. The sun was setting in the west, and across the island people were preparing for sleep. In the Stronghold of Roan, nobles and civil servants waited patiently for the train to come, their rapiers scratching the floor.
In the Palace, Alexander Black was walking back from his training room, dried blood staining his leather duelling armor. His daughter looked up from her toys as he stepped in, picking her up and putting her in the crib. Malissa giggled, and tried to catch his nose. He leaned back, patting her head gently, and then turning to go. Outside, ten Royal Guardsmen flanked her doorway, and another 15 stood outside on the balcony, with three more in her room itself.
He showered and changed, then went to find his chauffer.
<------------------------>
The sun also set on the Ministry, head office of the elected government of Roania, which coexisted uneasily with the noble and wealthy classes. Lady Alysanndra shook her head irritably, glad that elves didn't need to sleep. It was going to be a long, hard night.
<------------------->
In Alaitoc, the Burghomeister clucked his tongue as he looked at the transcripts. "We're behind quota..." No one remembered his name. At his death, his tombstone would read little more then "The 7th Burghomeister". That was okay. He didn't care. His job was important to him.
And his death was far away. Outside, elves and humans mingled as they attended to the business of the night.
None of them looked up as a bomber flew overhead. Those that did notice it thought it was going to the warlabs.
<------------------->
"Remember, Corporal. It must be swift and fast if we are to eliminate the enemies of the Principality." General Matthias spoke in clipped, sharp tones. He wore a black cape, covering his military uniform. "Are we ready, Pilot?"
"Yes, sir!" The man said. The plane circled around Alaitoc. Down below, the largest elven community outside of elven lands went on, unexpecting.
The Councillor of Telecommunications coughed. She thumbled with the camera-control, that would over-ride every signal in Roania, letting what she wanted on. She had taken it from the desk of the 'minister' the government had fobbed off on her.
"Then commence. And remember. What we do, we do for the better good of both Roania, and the Prince."
The corporal looked at Matthias. "Sir, what if the Prince doesn't see it like that?"
"Then we'll get a new one."
<------------------>
A metal capsule fell to the ground, falling, falling, falling.
At exactly 1 mile over the city centre, it exploded. Black lightning creased the sky as reality tore apart. A shimmering dome appeared, surrounding three miles of the city. All that the walls of the dome touched vanished, as if they had never been.
<-------------->
3 hours later
<------------->
Matthias stood on a podium before the wasteland where Alaitoc had once stood. He spoke into the camera, knowing his voice would be transmitted everywhere on the island. "My noble lords. For too long have we humans been under the thrall of the elven scum. Well, no more. I declare myself Warlord of Roania. And I will drive the 'democratic' government that hobbles the Council and House of Nobles, into the sea! And the elf bitch who runs it will be driven away, as will all of her kind! I call upon you to rise. For God. For our Captive Prince and his family. And for Roania!"
The camera panned. Two cohorts stood before him, twenty thousand men. Throughout Altara, other garrisons had risen, and were taking care of the traitors, wherever they could be found. "The Warlord has spoken!"

"Sir, we've got a sat feed coming now!"
"Put it on!" Kerrik demanded as the screen came to life, showing the simple nothingness that dominated the screen. "What the hell hit them? What the hell just-"
"Sir, we're getting broadcasts!" The screen cut to Matthias' declaration.
Kerrik felt the blood drain from his face. The phone rang, and he grabbed it. "This is the ISA, how may I help you?" he asked, numbly.
"What's going on, Director?" The Chancellor demanded. "What's the situation over there?"
"Shit, sir. Deep shit." Kerrik hung up on the Chancellor. "Okay, " he grabbed the bridge of his nose. "we'll monitor. Anything funny happens... and get me a damn schematic of that bomb!"
OOC: In other words... TAG!
Alexander Black shook his head. "No."
"What?" Alysanndra screamed.
"No."
"You can't..."
"I can, and I will. The government is on it's own. Prove it's worth to me. I'm not supporting either side."
"Your Highness..."
"I believe you have an army to run. I won't keep you. Besides, it's hard to get worked up over a civil war where both sides have declared undying support for me."

Alysanndra pinched her nose. It was becoming worse and worse. Upon learning of the prince's neutrality in this struggle, almost all of the nobility had switched to the Warlord. She still held the loyalty of all the ministers, and the common folk, but the military was going to the treacherous bastards. "Why?"
"Who knows how the minds of traitors work?" A voice asked her.
"What?... Simon?"
"The one and only."
"Didn't your father declare for the rising?"
"Yes, I think he did."
"And didn't Cardinal Richelieu, too?" She asked, hoping he'd say no.
"Maybe. That's not important. What is important is that I, 1/4 of the Inquisition, and several of the Derricks Rangers have declared loyalty to you."
"As have I." Another voice, an old one, said. A weazing old man walked in on a cane. Councilor for the Armed Forces, the Lord Baron Edmund Hyacinth, sat down heavily. "Sadly, barely half of my employees were so inclined."
Alysanndra shook her head. "Thank you both. But I think I'll surrender. Altara has unanimously declared for the Rising, Derricks is under them, Agua is having its own little conflict... and half of the nobles of Roan are preparing to turn against me."
Simon grabbed her shoulders, hard. "You can't surrender. You can't. Do you want Roania to go back to the way it was before you took over? More importantly, do you want millions of innocents to be slaughtered before that happens?"
Alysanndra just stared helplessly at him.

While we have not dealt heavily with your nation before, we wish to offer up our support. I have contacted you in the Chancellor's place to put a layer between him and this action. With the divisions in your own military, we can offer you aide in this dark hour. There is nothing in this we wish, merely to aide a legitimate government against foes without spine or morals. Should they win, they would spread their darkness, and we too might be in their path.

Gunfire burst out between the buildings. Democratic forces and Warlord Sympathisers took aim at eachother, exploding bullets rattling around the place. One of the Democratic Polizei fell down, while the warlord's soldiers marched forward, securing the street.
"Commisioner! The rebels are overpowering us. When can we expect reinforcement?" The polizei began to be pushed back.
"A loyalist cohort is coming... "
An explosion drowned them out as bombshells rang out. "What? They attack fellow citizens with bombs? They lack honor..."

The great trimaran dreadnought Magister, flagship of the Second Fleet, center of Battlegroup Four, sliced through the steely waters. The waves flashed from the booms, and, the wake sent turbulence in the waters that drowned out even the sea's waves. Arrayed to either side, the Fleet extended, two Nimitz Carriers and their CVBGs, the cruisers and arsenal ships, and the Marine Barges. Below, the Wraith Submarines prowled, while F-35Gs roared in the skies.
On the horizon, the Roanian coast was becoming visible. Soon, the Second would arrive. Already, the F-35s were flashing towards the mainland, and behind them, Sea Stallions loaded with Marines and SEAL teams.
Far above, the satellites were aligned.
"This is Admiral Genis, requesting permission to enter waters. We are entering this zone to give aide." The comms were relayed to the Lady.

Within hours, the Destroyer Black Knight, an aging, but still very large, strong, and very solid Space Destroyer, was moving into position to begin attackes. 60,000 soldiers were also boarding the transporters that were getting ready to launch into Roania's port (OOC: is the port the capitol, too?)
A convoy of 25 ST-II's, each holding 15 M1A2 tanks along with their crew, and 10,000 troops, were not but 15 minutes behind the Black Knight.
By sea, 10 Destroyers, lead by the Sea Dragonian VI, acompanied with 25 transport ships holding 10 M1A2's and their crew, along with 2,500 troops and two helicopters, were within an hour of the port.
Four aircraft carriers, led by the Sea Eagle II, were two miles behind the destroyers. Each AC had 20 of our special Seanja's, a variant of our Ninja Fighters (see next paragraph).
300 Ninja Fighters (our own special low-cost, low-armored, but very quick and agile fighter plane) were getting ready to head out. "Roania, do you have any airstripes in which we may use?" An additional 100 F-22's and 25 B-2's were ready to head out.

The Belem aircraft were directed towards the Warlord's private airbase on the ruins of Alaitoc.
The Warlord himself came to meet them. "Pity. I expected you to contact your allies, and bring them crashing down upon the traitors. But you are wonderful."

Simon Darquis grabbed the radio. "Attention all Loyalists, and allies! We will triumph!"
Veskyr was bored. He liked his home, and enjoyed his work, but once in a while he felt like going in search of adventure. The most recent had been a surprisingly profitable hunting trip in Roania; he smiled, thinking about it.
I wonder what's going on there now? Might as well check; it's something to pass the time....
He produced his greatest prize from that trip -indeed, one if his greatest treasures- out of a small hole in the air... a large book, its cover blank... the Tome of Kan Zaakron.
Flipping it open to a random page, he asked in a low voice "What occurs of interest in Roania? Answer me...."

"We're waiting for update from tac-con and the locals. Hold fire until they designate. Stay low, stay fast."
"Roger that." The flight flashed over the city. "Recon only until queried."
"And remember to shoot back."
"Roger." The flight banked for the outskirts.
The captain of the flight greets the warlord and hands him a sealed letter from Grand Inquisitor Tarkin himself
The letter reads: "We have a special weapon we wish to unleash on the elvish menance, but due to the current political climate it can not be linked to Belem it would have to be treated as a Roanian Experiment gone wrong. If you are interested please contact me, just a yes or no will do. Also I am in the process of having the office of Unconventional Warfare transfer control of a 100 megaton nuclear weapon to you. Thousands of ViZionarians troops, along with the M1A2 tanks and crew, upon entering dock #43, exited the ships. General Ronmilius Maxumius looked around. "Hmmm, where is there General? Another convoy, this time of humanitarian works, aids, and more weapons, were on their way. Within two hours after the initial docking, nearly 900,000 ViZionarians troops, along with the tanks and various other military groups, were in Port Agua.

"Painted!" Zulu Two called out. "Radar lock!" His HUD flicked red, and the tone buzzed in his ears.
"Locked!" Zulu Three declared.
"They're locking with LRM!" (Sorry, don't know what kind!) Zulu One declared. "Evasive!"
The three fighters split, rolling onto different headings and patterns, chaff flashing behind them. Zulu Two juked one lock, then another, but there were too many missiles in the air. The AAM slammed into the F-35's tail, and the explosion spun the plane, shredding wings and fins. "Hit! Eje-" he was cut off as yet another missile slammed into his plane, detonating the fuel.
"Jesus!" Zulu Three declared, spiralling under the exploding wingmate. He flipped back up, nearly clipping a building as his altimeter bottomed out. He grimaced as his lock faded, then returned. But, he was below the Roanian flight. Screw you! He ignore the growing buzz, flipped the switch, and sent four Apex Missiles screaming into the formation. He flipped the plane upright for just one last second, rolling into line, his cannon flaring. Then fate caught him as well, three missiles converging.
Zulu One banked low and fast through the chaos, as his mates were blasted from the sky. He banked the F-35 around, lining on the Roanian ships as Three came from below. As they turned on Three, Zulu One unleashed his four AMRAAM salvo upon them, then followed his payload in, firing off two more Apex into the mass. He grinned as the HUD went red, bearing straight at the missile meant for him. He slammed the eject button. His fighter exploded as he bailed, the ejection seat shooting him free of the carnage.
One the Carriers, the fighters were scrambled. "We have been engaged!" The war machines took flight.

OOC: g2g, I'll reply tomorrow
"Yes. The rebels don't." The Moff said, crossly. He snapped his fingers.
A massive creaking sound could be heard as the sea-gate closed, trapping the fleet inside. Millions of guns suddenly trained downwards, at the battle ship and soldiers.
"And we, the Warlord's troops, don't either... Put your hands up!"
The loyalist flag came down, replaced by the Nationalist one.

"Situation is hot as hell out there!" Captain Morgan snarled as the Sea Stallion banked for the palace, and the Crew Chiefs kept the M134s trained to the outside, tracking any suspicion. "We can't let these thugs get to the government! We are going to help them fortify their positions, or evacuate!" the choppers headed for the structure, while F-35s flew escort.
Every man and woman gripped their M8 carefully. This was it. This was the big time. The chopper settled over the roof, ropes kicked out. "Move!" The LT declared, and the Marines fast roped.
"This is Super Six-Three. We are here to assit." the pilot continued to communicate to the control.
The book showed two flags, and a blackening sky. An armored figure strode towards the horizon, black legions behind him.
All traces of boredom vanished instantly from Veskyr's mind.

Paul XII sat quietly by his desk bemusing his day when Chancellor Timin Rutini stormed through his door.
"Sir! Sir! A civil war has begun!...and it's really close to RomeW!" Rutini said.
"First Russia closes down all its McDonald's and now a neighbour is undergoing a civil war. What a day," said Paul in reply. "Which country is this?"
"Roania, sir."
"Roania? They wanted to become more democratic didn't they? This isn't good news, especially considering how close they are to us."
"Yes sir; and it could cost the very democracy that Roania may be establishing."
Paul thought to himself. If Roania lost its democracy and gave way again to the authoritatian powers that were previously in the country, it may have reprecussions on RomeW. Of course, even with all eight of its provinces together, RomeW may be no match for Roania's military might.
"You know what...we'll monitor the situation. If it becomes an issue of RomeW survival, then we will act. We are not powerful enough to face a nation as powerful as Roania."

"Shit," was the only word to come out of Eric's mouth before Phoenix had shovedd him out of the pilots seat of the longsword-X9. "Eric starts a uplink with Dekker and Cortana to try and get atleast one to us," Echo says as she slowly walks from the back covered from her feet to her neck in the nano-armor holding a automatic plasma pistol. Phoenix looked back and blinked several times at the sight of his sister in armor and with such a weapon but quickly turned the ship back towards Roania. "I'm not letting you fight Echo and you know it," he says as he fired up the engins. "I know but I'm not letting my sister get killed or anyone that is trying to stop that warlord scum if I can do so," she quickly says as she sits down in the com station chair and began to find any loyalists left.
"We got Cortana but she says..," was all Eric got out before she cut in "Dekker is staying and he knows it." "Glad to have you back," Phoenix says as the fighter began it's decent.
------------------------------------------------------------
Dekker grumbled to himself as he waited for Cortana's signal. God I hate being here now, he grunbles as he waits.
--------------------------------------------------------------
"Ok I've alerted the RS team in Phalanix and the remaning Elites except Joshua, Lyn, and Kelly will be on the PSN Firestorm that will aproch when me or Dekker signals," Cortana says as Phoenix gets up and walks over to a data-chip portt and says "You're not working with me on this one. Download now." Cortana quickly complies and Phoenix pulls the chip out and hands it to Echo. "You'll need this more than me. Besides she saved my life before and she can help make yous easier." Echo alittle startled takes the chip and places it into a download port on her armor and slightly jumped at the sensation of Cortana entering her mind. "Not as roomy as Phoenix's but it'll do," Cortana says as Phoenix just shakes his head and goes back to the pilot's seat

Corsengard (Capital City)
Corsis
"Chancellor, our forces are reporting engagement in Roania." Fleet Admiral Grav reported, standing in the double door. In the room, the Joint Chiefs were gathered with advisors and Chancellor Fenris sat in his chair, silent.
Secretary of State Genis asked, "Sir, the people will be wanting a reason. They'll be wanting answers."
"And what should I tell them? Tell them the truth? That the ISA is making power plays in international chess? Regime barters? Or should I lie to them, tell them that it's an international mandate?" Fenris laughed without humor, leaning back in his chair. "If only people weren't so afraid of machtpolitik, I could tell them..."
ISA Director Kerrik stepped from the shadows, always at the Chancellor's right hand. "We do not lie, Chancellor." The Intelligence Director's lip curled into a dark parody of a grin, "We give them part of the truth, make them assume the rest for us. No lies, no fraud... only inference that they will make for us. Then we will retain the clean air, and they will back us."
Genis shook his head. Your little games will kill us all, spook. "Just what is the reasoning here, Chancellor? Or are we to be victims of your information war, Director?"
Fenris shook his head. "No, this will be open. Number one reason... Roania is dangerous. Look at their record, they don't fight nice, and they lke to fight. It's only the restraint of the larger powers that keep it's genocidal tendancies in check. Now, this warlord, even more fanatical than the rest, is on the rise. Can you imagine the Roania of the future if he's at the helm?"
There was a general unease in the room, and Kerrik jumped into that, filling the nothing with his truth, his vision. The first truth is the greatest truth. I must convince them now. The Director spoke, "Now, there are plenty of reasons to back this that the public will like, and that we can all agree are "good" reasons. Number one, we're supporting a legitimate democratic government, opposing a coup de tat. Number two, the opposition has no qualms about the utilization of WMD, and shown this quite blatently. Number three, the ISA is quite certain about an impending genocide if he wins. We're talking a real Reign of Terror, ala French Revolution, if this man gets power.
"However, the larger reasons, the darker reasons, cannot be spoken. Roania is under Menelmacar's control, like a nice little puppet. They're rising up against that, and to be quite honest, I don't blame them... but the alternative to servitude is a megalomaniacal warlord. In this case, the best thing for national security would be to assure the retention of a somewhat oppressive regime as opposed to a regional terror. Not pretty, but the truth. If this warlord seizes power, I have no doubt that he will leave a trail of destruction on the world. We can fight this now, or leave it to fester. I say we move now, while there is an international spotlight. Win or lose this fight, we've established ourselves as "Protectors of Justice" and Roania should be handicapped by international pressure. It's called "minimaxing" in game theory-" Game Theory was Kerrik's favorite topic, and one of his many degrees, "- and it's quite nice. It is Minimizing the potential for Maximum losses... and that is what we are doing." The Director stepped back into the shadows.
Fenris spoke again. "And that is what I agreed to. Leave morality and petty concepts like honor at the door, folks. This is cynical realpolitik, nothing more and nothing less. This is what needs to be done. Are you with me on this? I need to know."
The silence was affirmative.
"Then we continue." The course was set.

Considering that the time is of the essence, I will forego the unnecessary salutations usually doled out by the Ramadoonian diplomats. Prime Minister Hawkins will officially declare our involvement in Roania before Parliament tomorrow, despite our state of emergency due to a supposedly imminent Tirestian attack against our borders. As the supreme commander of the Ramadoonian military, I am considering the dispatchment of two-thousand of our Elite Guards, four-thousand of our special forces, ninety of our Scorpion Tanks, one and a half-thousand of our ATC-2 troop transports, and one-hundred and fifty of our V-34 fighter/bomber/transport hybrids. In addition, one mobile nuclear generator will be provided to power a central command outpost in Roania. Below are pictures of the military units we will provide, as well as a short description.
http://www.digikitten.com/playhousev2/files/LtNathanWest/Withoutarmor.jpg
Ramadoon Special Forces
Armor is impenetrable to 7.62 mm rounds and below, as well as energy weapons (to a certain extent). If it takes too much abuse or was shot at relatively the same area of the armor, it will give in, though not completely. The bullet will actually be prevented from penetrating the armor, but the impact can cause internal injuries. Special Forces carry a P4A2 pulse rifle with energy cell ammunitions capable of holding eighty rounds. Attached to the rifle is a PG82 proton grenade launcher, which has a blast radius of three meters (it is basically a white phosphorous grenade, except it burns at a much higher temperature, hence the blue discharge). An ocular range finder with dual vision settings (night, infra-red) and target indicators are outfitted on the helmet.
http://www.digikitten.com/playhousev2/files/LtNathanWest/armor.jpg
Ramadoon Elite Guard
Armor and armament is basicaly the same as Special Forces, albeit they are sealed off from the external environment. Also, they carry a modified P4A2 capable of using extended ion cell cartridges that hold much more ammo than your stock energy cell ammunition and lack a PG82 attachment. However, they are allowed to carry VG-1 grenades, which are much more potent than the PG82; it can vaporize anything organic within 5 meters, and char metal.
http://www.digikitten.com/playhousev2/files/LtNathanWest/apc.jpg
Ramadoon Armored Personell Carrier
The successor to the first ATC-Mk1, the ATC-2 is a leap forward in military transportation. Its armor can withstand a single RPG round, mine, and small-arms fire. For defense, it carries two 20mm cannons atop the rear bay doors, as well as next to the driver. If it needs to make a quick getaway, its 1300 hp engines can get it going from 0-60 in 15 seconds. A complementary set of smoke grenade launchers blinds the enemy temporarily to aid in its escape. Top speed in rough terrain is approx. 50 mph, in pavement--70mph. Additional features: infra-red imaging, night vision, broad spectrum analyzer to "sniff" out biological threats, internal atmospheric regulator to protect from biological attacks.
http://www.digikitten.com/playhousev2/files/LtNathanWest/Scorpion3.jpg
Ramadoon Scorpion Tank
The toughest of the tough, the MT-5 Scorpion Tank brandishes a 120mm turret (with a .50 coaxial machine gun) equipped with a laser targeting system able to keep it aimed at its target--while bouncing around and going at 50 mph. Reloading is fully automated, and crew size has been cut to three--pilot, gunner, and spotter. Its armor consists of polymer-alloy/compound able to withstand multiple hits to the hull, although there have been some instances where it took only one round to destroy the tank, perhaps due to the fact that the technique in creating the platings have not yet been perfected. Additional features: infra-red imaging, night vision, internal atmospheric regulator to protect from biological attacks, laser range finder, threat analysis computer.
http://www.digikitten.com/playhousev2/files/LtNathanWest/transport.jpg
V-34 "King Crab"
The V-34 craft combines the versatility of troop transport, the maneuverability of a fighter jet, and the appearance of a mechanical crab. Able to adapt to different tasks, the V-34 can be used as a convoy escort/fighter when equipped with autocannons and missile racks. Without them, it is simply a medevac or transport unit. It's atmospheric ceiling is about 50,000 feet, top speed is mach 3. With additional equipment (O2 tanks, sealant) the aircraft gains the ability to go exoatmospheric. Additional features: infra-red imaging, night vision, internal atmospheric regulator, laser/radar/GPS guidance system for munitions, threat analysis computer. Electronic countermeasures include radar jammer and chaffs.
We hope that such an alliance made between our nations will put an end to the conflict as soon as possible. The Ramadoonian government patiently waits for your reply.

OOC: Summary....
BUT I WORKED SO HARD ON THE COOL POSTS!
Anywho...
1.)The Fleet was en route, and has now arrived to find the harbor sealed. Aircover arrived earlier, and engaged.
2.)Only fighters attacked was a Combat Air Patrol of 3 F-35Ds. All three demonstrated skill and determination and counter-engaged, but were thoroughly outnumbered. Despite valiant efforts, all three were downed, two w/o chance to eject. They volleyed a total of ten missiles (4 AMRAAM, 6 Apex) into your fighters, mostly from below (read post to get feel for evasive maneuvers attempted).
3.)With port falling, the rest of the offensive flights were detoured to escort six Super-Stallion Helicopters in evacuating the government building. (Here, I was confused. Is the Capital the port? If so, they went there. If not, they didn't happen.) As they approached the roof, a large mass of your soldiers apparently entered the roof and demanded surrender.
On part three, I didn't know what the heck was going on, so I innovated. Please detail me on what is happening, so I can respond. If the Capital is not in the Port, or is way back in Bumfuq, Egypt... part three didn't happen.
4.)The last post was an explanation of why I am involved. You should read it, b/c it IC explains why I'm here, and why I'm fighting.
5.)Oh yeah, I've been trying to contact your command staff and get a Situation Report, what to do, and so on...
I think that is it. 8)

Roanian Royal Household
The sound of gunfire rang out near the area the Kaukolastani fighters had crashed, in the mountains. "Die, treacherous scum!" One of the Government soldiers shouted as nationalist forces retreated. Loyalist and Nationalist Rangers set deadly traps for eachother, playing a deadly game of cat and mouse.
The Nationalists vanished, leaving the loyalists to head towards the Kaukolastani planes. "Captain, one of them is alive!" A soldier shouted, pointing at an unconcious and heavily burned pilot.
"Get him up, and to the camp. He looks like he's flown over. Maybe he can help us."
Matthias smiled at the High Inquisitor. "Of course. We would be honored. Now, come join me, and together Roania and Belem will deliver a blow to the elves worse then any ever seen!" He held his hand out. In side his helmet, screens related to him information that NOD and Danneland would join the rising.
It was all going to plan.
***
"Admiral, you are confused. Don't be. Join the Rising. Roania can always use men like you." The Moff held his hand out to the Vizion soldier. He spoke louder. "Any of you that joins us shall be lords! We will make you wealthy beyond your wildest dreams!"
***
Nationalist forces had siezed the town 2 days ago. Already, priests and Inquisitors were spreading codes of conduct, the movies and casinos had been closed, and the government ministry was destroyed. Everyone was in either the Squire's castle, paying homage to the Captain who had gotten rid of the former, loyalist, tenant, or in church. Green suited nationalists stalked the streets, shooting anyone who wasn't doing what they were meant to do.
Government forces had been forced back miles. And the purge of elves commenced.

There were voices in his dreams. "Captain, one of them is alive!"
The world rocked, and he fell deeper into the darkness... but there was noise now... someone wanted him... "He's alive-"
Freeman opened his eyes. "Where am I?" he began to cough harshly, his wounds screaming.

In the Magister's gunnery center, the closed gates were visible on the main screen. "Sir, they've got allies pinned there."
Ericson grinned. "Shall we free them? Fire the guns!"
The Magister turned it's massive firepower upon the sea-gate, unloading twelve 16 inch, and four 18.1 inch cannon upon the wall in one horrific instant. Hundreds of thousands of pounds of high explosive detonated on the structure. The Magister released hell upon the wall.
Overhead, an entire wing of F35Ds passed into the harbor, their armament ready.
< The following is an OOC post by Roania>
Phalanix, Kelly and Alexander are not at all involved in this conflict, in absolutely no danger, and remaining uninvolved until I suffer a partial lobotomy. IE, for the remainder of the thread. Don't send characters you like, as there will be lots more "Alaitocs"
And no space ships. None. Ground, High Atmospheric, Low Atmospheric, Dropships, gravships, fine.
But no starships. Any starships will be destroyed by the Roania Galactic Navy, which is just as neutral as Alexander.
That's an IC reason for OOC ignoring.
Okay? On with the war!

OOC: Are you sure that was a warp rift creator?
Some things you may wish to consider
Building one that small and powerful is not possible. They're big things. Even the eldar can't make them that small & powerful. That's wanky son. 'Lots more' of them is just a one-handed rollercoaster.
Sacrificing a city into the warp is - unwise. You're likely to be hit with a Warp storm (which is a better way of explaining no space ships, I must admit) and mass demon possession of your population. The warp entities are going to be drawn to Roania like flies to a turd. And you've managed to wet their appitite.
It should elicit a reaction from myself (So what if you're 'big...' it's still going to be an all round terrible reaction) that will make that look just plain petty.
OOC: Best description I could find. What it did was completely and totally... I suppose the word is... erase the city. Vanish it. Send it somewhere vaguely unpleasant.
And it's not wank because Roanians spend more of their national budget on weapons then most other nations spend on education/health combined. It's a plot device, little more, and will be used at my OOC discretion.
As I would tell everyone if I could get this damn piece of MiRC junk to work!
Besides, having you means I have to get rid of Kau. And I'd prefer Kau right now.

OOC: Exactly.
OOC: All right. No more OOC posts (except by your correspondent, me; and Mr. Make Many Posts, Kaukolastan), and I'm going to view the Ctan's post as a lengthy tag.

Overhead, an entire wing of F35Ds passed into the harbor, their armament ready.
"This is Camp Marshall. We want to know if you have any information on rebel forces in the mountains." A woman's voice responded, while strong hands forced him to lie back down.
***
The gates buckled, but remained undamaged. Massive portholes opened, and all of a sudden huge weaponary blasts fired outwards, shooting into the Kaukolastan fleet. The incredibly thick titanium sea-gates would require a massive charge to destroy.
And the Roanian Aquatic Navy waited...
The book showed two flags, and a blackening sky. An armored figure strode towards the horizon, black legions behind him.
All traces of boredom vanished instantly from Veskyr's mind.
That does not look good! It looks as ominous as anything I saw about Raven, and I was asking about a specific danger, then. It seems best that I investigate this....
"What a bother." he muttered, grinning.
Veskyr put on thin gloves, hid the slight glow of his eyes behind sunglasses, and pulled his hood low over his face. Looking like an oddly dressed human, he stepped through a hole in the air into the capital of Roania....
OOC: I assume this would be noticed by the citizens, even with him in "disguise". Or did you already reply to it, and I just didn't see? If so, sorry.
OOC: Here we go again...
IC: Where he was almost run over by an HSV. Around him, dozens of men looked to the horizon. A man shouted, "You! Get in yer uniform!"

The council was in two minds, with Telgorthrind gone they where split as to how to proceed. 'We gave up on the Roanians a long time ago, it is Menelmacar's problem, and I am glad of this.' Darvins spoke slowly and with care, laying out his position.
'Still I can see benefits in helping to restore order, the Noldor will be after blood for this, and the Lady Sirithil will not look unfavourably on any who give her such aid.' This was Galdern.
Finally, Iyaana spoke 'Blood and fire, Death, they have taken their stand these Rebels. So be it, I now see them as responsible for Mel'Nais, we waited for the chance to burn them. Now I have it, and I won't let this chance slip by, Mobilse everything, send the Titans, send the Fleets, destroy them all, bring me those that side with this Mon-Keigh Warlord so that I can rip their minds asunder, we shall find Mel'Nais or take payment for her Death in their Blood.' Iyaana spoke and as she did so, the council looked at her and nodded, it had been decided, she would replace Telgorthrind then, she was the new High Farseer.
And the forces of the council gathered swiftly... they would burn and kill. They make the streets run with the blood of Rebels, and reveal in the destruction they had caused. Vengence would be taken for a loss that had been burning long in their hearts, and they would do it, they suspected, with the blessing of the Lady Sirithil.

General Ronmilius Maxumius, one of the top Generals leading this campaign, started asking around, "Who can I speak with around here? Who's the highest official of Roania around here? Damn, I need to speak to him. Anyone? Can anyone tell me?"
General Ronmilius Maxumius could not find any Generals or high-level officials from Roania on the side of the Government. He heads back to his men.
(OOC: Just realized that the next part of this could may be wrong... so, I need to know... did the whole Port get taken over, or what? How many (if any) Civilians are there? Also, how many other forces are trapped with ViZion in the Port?)

OOC: ViZion, I do believe you're locked in the port, hence why I'm trying to blow the wall and get me-in/you-out. :)
OOC2: Roania, where's your fleet (I do have satellites)? In the harbor?
IC:
Freeman fell back on the bed as the hands pushed him, once again his head was swimming. "We were a recon flight, a CAP. There was a black box... there should have been... in the wreck. It would have everything you need. The plane carried various optics and an FLIR... all that data would be in the black box... Inside is a sealed, shielded hard disk... just connect to a computer, and watch." He choked a little. "The others... Two and Three? Did they get out?"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The seawall buckled, but remained. From the sides, coastal guns emerged, unleashing blasts of fire into the fleet. (I'm going to assume something between an 88mm and a 16incher for the guns, okay?) Most of the fleet was sitting out of range, but the Destroyer Richard Dyles had ventured closer than the Magister to perform ASW duties, and vanished under the onslaught, catching nearly ten sixteen inch shells that simply disintigrated the ship.
On the bridge, Admiral Hayes grimaced. "Pull back. We'll deal with this from ranges." He turned to the plot. "Move the Wraiths out of formation, into Wolf Packs. Seperate the fleet into battle formations. And let's show them what firepower means! Release the arsenal ships to fire."
"Aye, sir!"
The Second Fleet retreated beyond gun range and prepared for battle. (I can't say more without knowing where your fleet is.) The two CVBGs moved up and out, flanking and a bit forward of the Magister BG. From these ranges, only the long range 18.1 inch Magister guns and missiles could strike the wall, but that fire continued. No physical structure could take this shelling for long, and the Fleet had time on it's hands.
The JSFs streaked over the docks. "This is Partisan Lead. We have located enemy forces. Appears they have allied forces surrounded with infantry and light armor."
"Roger that, Partisan Lead. Engage."
Like bats from hell, sixty fighters shattered from formation, descending upon the Roanian forces without mercy. Cannon stuttered, and napalm fell from hardpoints, roiling fire across troop formations. On a large boom, three of the fighters engaged a mass of troops, striking the deck with White Phosphorous explosives. Around the ViZion fleet, the incindieries burst, raising temperatures to over one thousand degrees. For the armor, the fighters had plenty of Hellfire Missiles as well, and all of this was interupted by guided bombs, ranging from cluster to anti-runway to bunker buster.
But a squadron of fighters did not join the attack. They instead circled high above. These were not the standard attack plane. Retrofitted with the Athena system, and equipped with streamlined sensor/designator gear, these were spotters for something much harsher than mere fighter ordnance....
Out to sea, the six Arsenal Ships unleashed their fury. The Arsenal Ship was a unique development of the Kaukolastani Navy. The focus of Kaukolastan had always been to bombard from safety, and so artillery and long range missiles had enheritted severe advantages to close combat... and had matured into the Arsenal Ship, the ultimate in naval bombardment. Five hundred Longsword Missile Vertical Launch Shutes lay on the flat, low profile deck, and the systems inside were ready for firing. With the confirmation, the hatches burst open as the ships vented their deadly assault. Functioning much like the land-based MLRS, the Arsenal ship could carry more, and each missile was a full cruise missile, guided, and loaded with high explosive.
Walls of missiles screamed skyward, arching in on the Roanian harbor. From above, the designator planes identified bunkers and garrisons and troop formations, transmitting data to the Longswords in flight. Fates were decided in advance by these Valkyr, the Chosers of the Slain, pointing to unknowing forces below, one after another.
You have been chosen.
And the Arsenal's payload arrived... thirty thousand cruise missiles, seeking their targets with machine determination on self immolation. High above, the Valkyr chose more targets as the onslaught continued. Far out to sea, the Arsenal Ships were reloading...

The gates began to glow red hot, and bits of metal began to fall out. Long range weapons began to open up in the city, pointing towards the fleet. A massive inrush of air preceded the launching of a High Explosive Missile against what Nationalist theorists considered to be the enemy flagship.
A thick, oily mixture began to leak upwards from the bottom of the harbor as the Roanian Battle Fleet moved to engage. Should they be broken, then the entire harbor would catch alight.
((I don't really have that many stats for my navy. Almost every battleship in the Roanian Navy carries more weapons then it's equivalent in other navies. They move slower as a result, but they don't need to move quickly in order to attack, as some of them have ranges equitable to the US's Aegis system. There's also a military airport in the city, so any further bombings would result in unpleasant surprises.))

"That is good an all, but we are here to save the innocent, humans, elves and anything else. We are not here to become wealthy bastards, such as your self."
Behind him, everyone who has been talking silenced. The murmering stopped, and all eyes were on the Admiral and Warlord.
"We give you this offer: We shall take the elves, humans, and all others whom you reject, into ViZion. Then, we shall leave here. We've got forces outside of this Port. I can also guarantee that our Government is ordering a massive mobilization right now of a large number of our Military, to get us out of here. Behind him, ViZionarian troops start cheering, chanting "Admiral Maxamilia!" Everyone had guns in hand, expecting for a fire-fight.
"Oh, and another thing, Mr. Warlord..." Admiral Maxamilia says, turning around again and taking two steps towards Warlord Matthias, "We fight with honor. We don't give in to bribes that you so often offer, and are not use to being turned down.
"Ya, ya, I know... I turned down your offer, and you're getting upset. I can see your face is getting a little redder then it was. But, don't take it personally. You have our offer."
Then, the Admiral Maxamilia turns again, and walks away, hand on his gun, listening for any movement coming from behind him. Admiral Maxamilia has a keen sense of sound, and knows the sound of someone behind him ready to attack from behind. He turns around again, walking backwords the final 10 feet back to his troops, keeping his eye on the Warlord.
The soldiers, gripping their guns, ready for battle, glared at the Warlord, and the enemies surrounding them. They would fight, to the death if they had to. They would not let ViZion, or the innocent people down.
Their faces appeared to be made from stone. They were ready for anything - even death. But, even if it was death, they would not go down without taking just as many enemy, if not more.
As Admiral Franz von Oblichst looked at the situation for his ally of Vizion, he then looked out the window. Giving the signals for the go ahead, the Koblenzian task fleet unleashed a massive wave of planes and bombers towards that areas that Vizion has been held up in. As the planes flew out towards the battles, he sighed. Franz knew that the mission goals stated privately by Vizion would be easily achieved. This run was going to be boring.
Approx. Numbers: 55 B-2 stealth bombers, 200 F-35's, 10 battleships, 5 Aegis Cruisers, numerous subs, marine transports (All exact numbers are of an unknown number according to your intel. ).

We are mobilizing our forces. We are preparing:
Six Iowa-class Battleships
120 B-2 Bombers
500 F-22's
1,000 F-35's
100 Hyper-Strike Bombers
http://www.invisible-defenders.org/images/fsa/n-g_hyper-strike.jpg
We are also preparing our long-range M.A.X.-K Missile System, which can be launched from our bases, upto 18,250 miles away. We are loading these onto our ships, too. They have enough strength that one missile can level everything in a .63 mile radius of where it hits. It is also precise to within 8.3 feet of target.
We are ordering 1.5 million troops to mobilize, and will send in 600,000 to help take back the Port. We will send in more troops if needed. We call upon the rebels to release all Loyalists and their supporters in the Port, or we shall strike by sun-rise (or when Roania replies in other words).
We stand with our ally, Sierra Leone.
We are great allies of SL, and we are good friends with, and working on an alliance with ViZion.
We will mobilize 3 million troops. We will also get 500 of our M1A2's and 1,500 M1A1 tanks ready to be sent out. We will also get 500 F-22's and 300 F-35's ready. We are getting ready to send in 25 of 120 of our Iowa-Class Battleships that are currently patrolling our waters.
We're also preparing 200 B-2 bombers for runs. We demand ViZion be allowed safe passage from Roania, or we shall attack side-by-side with SL.

"Not for long. Let's get out of here immediately before someone notices us. South we go."

OOC Lahlahlah, Hay Ro just so you know the Kionash are bringing their own Warp weapons including Vortex Torpedoes... they have a similar effect as your Warp Bomb had on alteroic. Should raise the body count horrendously in this war... further We are assuming this takes place after Operation roundhammer. (Which makes sense considering your involvment in that thread as well)
IC They had arrived the first wave of the Kionash forces, soon all would be in place for the first landings. More forces where on their way from Tor Yvresse. Still the first thing that needed doing was a message had to be delivered. That message was being prepped and readied. In the hanger bay of the first Fleets Third Carrier a single Torpedoe was being loaded into the hold of an Eagle Class Bomber. (The Eagle class is stupidly big, for a Bomber, easily dwarfing most bombers of other species.)
Soon amongest a wave of other Vampires it was launched the package was ready to be delivered. The first package of course was not aimed at civilian or even military targets, rather an isolated Island was brought onto live feed, no sentient being lived on this Island. Then the open message was Transmitted.
'Warlord The Council sends you it's greetings, We have a message to deliver to you.'
As the message was transmitted the Wave of Bombers entered the Atmosphere, and hurtled towards the Island.
'With this transmission is a live visual feed, please turn it on... Thank you. We know of your, wonder weapon. We are not impressed. Our people mastered such technologies while your species was still crawling in the muck wondering what would happen if you hit an enemy with a Rock rather than your fists.'
Vissual feed changes to the view from the lead Eagle Class Bomber. The Island is in sight now.
'The next time you use those weapons, as you did at Alteroic the end result will be one of these aimed at everysingle Rebel stronghold.'
Quickly cut to Loading bay filled with Vortex Torpedoes, Only nine remain of this weapon but that nine is enough to fulfil the Admirals threat.
'You have been warned 'Warlord' you forces have been warned.'
Image now shows the Torpedoe flying towards it's target, and impacting, a flash of light, as the space between the real and the Warp overlaps and everything in the Blast Radius, IE the Island, is sucked into the Warp, all that remains is a gap which the sea raced to fill, and the faint echo of screams from some other place... an impression that for a second something tried to get through.
((OOC just one of the many, REALLY nasty weapons the Eldar have up their sleeves... Now arn't you all glad we usually don't use them.))

The Moff sighed, rolled his eyes, and turned to go. Behind him, turrets rose out of the docks, and from the cliffwalls. "You have five seconds to retract that statement, General."
"My offer stands. I give you five seconds, too, before we fire upon your troops." (Assuming you do have troops out there, ready to fight?)
OOC: By the way, I said the Moff was speaking to you. The Warlord is nowhere near you, ViZion.
Are you being difficult on purpose? OOC: *sighs* nope, sry, just very tired today, I thought you said Warlord was speaking...
OOC: Just checking. God, I'm exhausted.
I said I did. Lots of them. Remember? Millions of gun barrels?
IC: The Moff was about to respond when an explosion shook him. All of a sudden, the air was filled with gunfire. The moff took off. "Traitors to the Warlord are attacking! Kill the elves!"
OOC: Yes, I do now... (I feel better now that I got some sleep)
IC: Everyone looks up, then looks around. Someone fired their gun, though no one knows who. ViZionarian's ducked, then began firing at the enemy. They knew they mos likely wouldn't get out, so they would go down with honor.
The Admiral grabbed his knifes, and changed at the Moff...
OOC: Roania did u kill my freaks of nature? It doesnt matter if u did they are completely expendable I got them from a nation that was kicking all there elves out in exchange for some suitcase nukes.
The Government of Matich has decided to send large military forces. We are against genocide and Vizion is an ally and a member of the same region as us.We will not stand by and watch as Roania murders their own people and Vizionians. The 3rd Fleet is coming up on Roania as we speak. They will do their best to assist the trapped men in the harbor. With the Fleet is the 3rd Army and the 1st MEF and the 1st and 5th Armies are being mobilized as we speak.
President Matich
OOC: I'm not even going to ask how you found out about the fact that men are trapped in Port Agua, because you couldn't have.
Kindly leave, and take your 'armies that can walk underwater to reach an island on the other side of the world' with you.'
Tor, no.
And if neccessary, I'll ask Siri to tell you no too. This is carefully planned, and if anyone else leaps in... damn it, Aelosia is right.
Tor, send me a tm detailing your forces. No warp weapons allowed. Only I am using WMD of any sort. Anyone else who uses them is going to set off the largest wave of gassings since the holocaust. Since that's against the point of what you people are trying to do, you can't use wmd.
As of now, this is only a semi-open RP. Ask *me* first. You can't ask anyone except me for permission to join this thread. And I'll say it one more time, all regional alliances are ignored. IGNORED. Only RP alliances may be used.
If I say no, don't post a complaint. Just accept the fact that I've decided, for a reason that may or may not be explained, that I'm not allowing your participation.
ViZion, for the love of God, retract whatever request for help you made, and trust me.
Right? None of you made the mistake of sending named characters, so the loss of a thousand or so men won't be bad. If you have sent named characters, I'll give you a chance to OOC edit your posts so they aren't there.

OOC: Glad to hear it.
IC: An explosion burst open the city's ancient walls. The seagate exploded too, letting the Kaukolastan Navy enter. The Roanian Navy, seeing that the tide had turned against the warlord, began shooting at the nationalists and itself.
The moff went down, a bullet through his spine. "You the ViZion general?" A man wearing Inquisitorial armor asked dryly.
OOC: Um... yeah, try it, Tib. If you respond to the other threads.
OOC: I just came back today from... various things. If it's not too much of a problem... could you send me the links again? ^_^;
IC: Nova, in the Tiburonese National Executive Offices read the TBC News headline about the breakout of a civil war over for about the 50th and sat back. Alex... I warned you. Your empire's days are numbered... and democracy will prevail.
He then sent a message to the space battleship [IiLibra[/i], one of Tiburon’s numerous space battleships, now led by Commander Sano Shinoske. “Hey, Sano. I’m pretty sure you’ve heard the news, right?”
Sano: “Right…”
“So move the Libra in that direction. I’m going up there… and I’m pretty sure everyone else is coming along. I received Congressional approval. We’re going to instate Operation Sandstorm.”

Any starships will be destroyed by the Roanian Galactic Navy, which is just as neutral as Alexander.
That's an IC reason for OOC ignoring.
Okay? On with the war!

OOC Ro. I fail to see why you feel you can say, 'only I have the right to use WMD's' but fine, then Bye Ro. I mean it, you can't tell people that sort of thing. You can say, none of these weapons if you don't use them, but the moment you used a WMD you set the scene. So forget it, I won't join in a thread where one side can use something but mystically someone else cannot.
Now Siri has told me what her IC response would be if I use them, but she has not said OOC I can't use them. Thats the difference, IC restrictions have been placed because I have to consider the fallout if I do it. You however are trying to tell me what forces I can bring to the table, while not applying the same restrictions across the board.
If you think for a moment the Eldar would come to the affair where one side throws around that sort of tech, and not bring a counter with them...
Forget it. Ro, I won't RP under those conditions, So good bye.
And Ro... Erm the Eldar are not too bothered about the end result to the human population of Roania. We never have been. When the Rebels used a WMD we got a chance to do what we wanted to do since Mel'Nais disappeared, which we still unfortunatly blame on you. Thats why we came, and as for the Elves... Erm, we blow ships up containing Elves if we think it benefits them. We are more than willing to sacriface Elves.
I tried posting this before, but the @#$%^&*!!! server wouldn't accept it. Tiburon is nothing but a normal nation without its space advantage: the Gundams, the Mobile Suits, and the space battleships. It's all or nothing, so I guess it's nothing.

Panick had died down in Ramadoon. After four harrowing days of anxious anticipation, the Tirestian bomber did not come. There was no nerve agent, no gas, no biological WMD--just the peaceful skies and the beautiful sunsets, as usual. As the city containment fields were shut down, the citizens breathed a sigh of relief. Tanks and soldiers paraded through the concrete and glass canyons of Crystal City with much fanfare, but unbeknownst to all of them, the country would be again embroiled in the tides of war...

Parliament Hall
Amidst the sea of governors (and not to mention the press), Prime Minister Hawkins strode towards the podium with deep sorrow in his eyes. King Goethels had been assasinated days ago during a failed military coup, led by the audacious Field Master Dayton. Though he was quickly dispatched by an unnamed gunman, news of the King's death never reached the public's ears. Only those who had witnessed it, among them the President of Caligatio and Hawkins, knew of the regicide.
"Citizens of Ramadoon...Our King has passed. Details of his death will soon be released, but not at this moment; right now, I am here to urge Parliament to announce a declaration of war against Roania. As some of you may know, the nation is in need of our assistance. Democracy is threatened by the rebellious Warlord Matthias. We will join our Kaukolastan allies to help preserve it. I know a majority of you already support my decision to wage war, so I'll make it easier for myself. All who oppose the proposition, say nay."
The room was silent. Not one representative stood...except for one.
"Usurper! You killed the king, you traitorous scoundrel! And now you want us to go to war without the Royal Family's approval? How dare you? What right do you have to take power from them!"
Hawkins calmly replied in a soft tone. The words had hit him hard, but he was wise enough not to allow his emotions to come into play. "Representative, allow me to remind you that the Family's power is ceremonial. Our nation has rid itself of absolute rule three generations ago..."
But the latter was unsatisfied. He stomped out of the hall, waving a clenched fist at the Prime Minister.

Port Pendleton, Tristan Province
The mass exodus was underway. A large fleet consisting of two CVN-21 carriers, 7 battleships, 4 dreadnoughts, 2 submarines, and numerous supply and transport ships chugged out of Port Pendleton, a naval base hewn into the cavernous interiors of Pendleton cove. As the last ship exited the harbor, the blast doors meant to protect the cove from a nuclear attack began to hum a metallic tune as it was lowered.
It would be a two-day trek across the oceans before they could rendezvous with the Kaukolastan navy...

A message from ViZion's Government:
We are pulling out 400,000 of our nearly 1 million troops out of Roania, as war is luming with a genocidal nation.
The Inquisitor nodded. All of a sudden, there was a humming noise. A bomber was flying overhead.
Simon swore. "EVERYONE, MOVE! GO!"
<-------------------------->
The survivors looked at where Agua had once been. A long, flat space was there. No sign of the city of 20 million souls.
The energy sphere had crackled back in. Only the Military had escaped. No civilians had made it outside of the blast range.

The fleet neared the southern shore...
Aboard the dreadnought MIS Mormecil, flagship of Task Force Ceiling...
"So... why did the Lady term this Operation: Ceiling, milady?" asked a random bridge officer.
"Because the rebels call themselves the Rising... but they won't be doing any Rising once they meet us," Warlady Naurelin nos Fithurin grinned... then she gaped, staring at the holo, and the window, and the view beyond. "Great Elbereth," she breathed as she saw the massive flash on the rocky Roanian horizon. "What the hell was that?"
"It was consistent with the attack on Alaitoc, milady... just... far, far bigger," reported the sensor officer. "There is a bomber turning north..."
A sudden hunch. "Destroy it! Aicasicil volley, now!"
A rack blazed on the hull of Mormecil, launching a stream of five "Fell Dagger" anti-air gravitic missiles into the cool air of the night. They quickly crossed the distance between themselves and the retreating bomber at supersonic speeds... upon impact, they would pierce the fuselage, and their gravitic warheads would self-overload in a massive inverse pulse, using all remaining power... of course, the gravitic stresses would tear the warhead apart... but it would create an affect analogous to a white hole for the merest fraction of a second, forcing matter and energy alike outwards in a devastating ripple of explosive gravitational force. If they hit.

"She is our target. Prime Minister Allysanndra Ellestra" the leader of the group, an older, experienced Black Hand operative said, showing the picture of the PM to the group.
"What's the plan?"
"The plan for now is getting all the way to her HQ first. It's quite a walk from here. Don't worry, we'll be getting support from High Command for this."
"How tight is the security around her?" a young female agent asked.
"Security will probably be on high alert, but no doubt it has been ever since this conflict started. The security will either be paranoid or careless by now. We can put both to our advantage. Now let's go."
The eight Black Hand agents started to make their way south, their light machine guns ready.

As the sea wall burst, there was a mutter of satisfaction in the Magister Gunnery Suite. Ericson turned to the bank of targetting computers and grabbed the red phone, "Sploded the blasted thing. Now ViZion can get out!"
On the bridge, Admiral Hayes nodded as Ericson's report came in. "Set sail to engage the Roanians."
"Sir! We have a missile launch in the city!"
"How many?"
"One, sir!" The technician looked frightened. "Only one."
There was a silence on the deck for a moment. The thought that rang in their minds was a shared one, Weapon of Mass Destruction. Why else would there only be one? Hayes sneered. "One missile is no threat. Have the Aegis engage, and move in the fleet."
"Aye, sir." The Kaukolastani fleet began to head towards the Roanian in reverse V. Encrypted transmissions were sent to the approaching Ramadoonian Fleet...
We will pincer on Roanian Fleet. We need you to complete our V into a triangle. Once engaged, we will crush him in a vice.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On the Aegis Class Argus, the radar screens showed the incoming missile. Officer of the Watch Evans paced the deck, his orders in hand. "We've been tasked with engaging that missile! They're thinking WMD. Engage it, now!"
The radar tracked, the computers profiled, the missiles armed... On the deck, six Breaker missiles leaped free, their combined seeker tips aquiring the missile from the Aegis's own systems. The light and maneuverable missile locked the larger target and entered Terminal Phase over the sea wall, slamming into the large Roanian Missile.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The explosion in the harbor flashed over the portholes of the Second Fleet, and sailors and officers spun to the horizon. There was a fading glow from the harbor, and the city was gone. Nothing stood in a new plain. Hayes grabbed the phone. "Command, this is Hayes... they just fired another one!"
"Status check!"
"All ships, report in!"
The call ins repeated, and the Fleet was tallied. Three ships had been too close to the city, and they had been immolated in the flash. Seven hundred sailors... vanished. Hayes felt his face twist into a mask of cold anger, and ice settled in his soul. "Thank God we pulled back from the Sea Wall guns, or we would have been in there..." he gripped the guard rail. "Move out. Show those Roanian whores no mercy. They will pay for their madness."
The Fleet moved to engage the Roanian forces from ranges, to smash them outside of gun range with volley fire, and to draw them into the Magister's constrictor grip.
OOC: Here we go again...
IC: Where he was almost run over by an HSV. Around him, dozens of men looked to the horizon. A man shouted, "You! Get in yer uniform!"
"I am not one of your soldiers; I am a travellor. I've been away for quite some time, and I haven't been able to keep up on the news. Is there a war going on?"
OOC: Sorry about the delay.
Hands clenched a report. A mouth crinkled in distaste. "Still, Rachel got out all right... right?"
"I... don't know... m'lord."
The report was sent flying through the air, and when it hit the far wall it exploded in a crysanthemum of flames. "Well, well, well."

When Alysanndra heard the news, she first couldn't stop crying. Tears rolled down her face, as around her the ministers stared in awestruck silence. Not even the news of the recent defection of several squires to her cause could cover over her pain. "Why... what is this madness that grips the heart of men, and leads them to deal in such a way with one another?"
"Prime Minister, the Elentari's ships have been spotted. And the Roanian Navy has pledged loyalty to you, provided we can get a port set up. Otherwise, they'll go to a third nation until the war is over."
Alysanndra dried her eyes, still breathing in shallow gasps. There was work to be done.

The bomber exploded in a ball of crimson lightning. But Matthias didn't care. It's work had been done.
He gave the order for a full assault to commence, judging that his opponent's morale had been weakened.
Hundreds of soldiers began the long march towards the last Altaran republican stronghold. "Send Richelieu in here."

The flash of what seemed to be a nuclear explosion nearly blinded the crew members atop the RRN Javelin, the lead carrier of the Ramadoonian fleet. Seconds later, the encrypted Kaukolastani message was received by tower control. Commodore Edward Lucas ordered the following to be sent back via the same code.
"All Kaukolastoni ships. Expected ETA, 2 hours. Will give fighter support in the meantime"
Launch codes were relayed to the Javelin's sister carrier, the RRN Lambert. Within minutes, a swarm of 25 V-34's from each ship tore across the sunset to provide fighter and bomber support to the Kaukolastoni fleet. The Ramadoonian ships set their engines to full speed and headed toward their allies as requested...

Hayes read the Loyalist's report. "They need us back in Agua. Bring the fleet about. Bring BG One into the harbor, with the Marines. Keep Two and Three outside, so we can't be all taken in one strike. And keep guns ready... if anything comes around without ID, blast it to hell."
In the desolate harbor, the Magister entered first, leading from the front as was the Naval tradition. Approaching warily, the trimaran dreadnought neared the shore. Behind it, Marine Barges pulled to the sides. Ramps descended, and Kaukolastani Marines hit the shores.
Sailors and Marines brought boxes and crates of food, medical supplies, tents, bags, and other goods. Nervous, the checked for opposition under the cover of fleet guns.
A message was sent to Ramadoon:
We have received urgent requests for aide, are breaking off attack. Seems Roanian Navy allegiance is shifting... Do not engage.

A swirl of the n'veir snatched the man's gun from his hand; the weapon hovered near Veskyr's side. There was anger in the reptile-like sorceror's harsh voice as he said "I don't lie, soldier. Tell me what has happened here... now."
Simon Darquis waved the Kaukolastanis down. "Move it onto the convoy. We're going to be moving quickly from here." The Legions began to shift into position. "We have to break the stranglehold the Warlord has on the capital. Navies won't be any good. Your buddies out there have any infantry?"

"There's been a civil war, you freak!" The captain said, as the other soldiers levelled their weapons. "Now, are you going to come with us to be vetted, or are we going to have to send you over the wall?"

The information in the black box showed a direct overview of the mountains. The Captain nodded. "You, pilot," he said to the Kaukolastani, "can you walk?"

The 23rd Marine Expeditionary Unit, consisting of five thousand combat troops, plus support, was debarking. There were several MBTs and HMMWV, as well as assault helicopters and Wyvern Gunships. This was a fast reaction force, but it was indeed formidable.
Hayes answered Darquis, "All we managed to get here this fast was the 23 MEU, but it's a crack force. What it lacks in quantity, it can more than replace in quantity. We can also offer you air support and the firepower of the Arsenal ships."
The Marines were loading up into convoy, and the Gunships circled. The Fleet remained on station, and the CAP continued.

Captain Freeman nodded, rising slowly. "Yeah, I can. What do you need?" he paused. His next request may have seemed odd, but it stemmed from years of service. Most would have requested aide, but that was not the Kaukolastani way. Always offer more than you're giving. "And can I have a gun?"
Simon nods. "Okay. We're going to press east, in the hope of linking with the 17th cohort."
The soldiers begin to pick up their weapons. "In the name of the Prince!"

"Roger that. We'll operate under your direction here, but we retain right of initiative? Can you work with that? I have teams ready to commo-splice our units, for coordination." The Marines formed with the Roanian units, heading for the capital.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Thanks." Freeman said, testing his grip on the rifle. "My name's Freeman. You?"
"There's been a civil war, you freak!" The captain said, as the other soldiers levelled their weapons. "Now, are you going to come with us to be vetted, or are we going to have to send you over the wall?"
A civil war?! Well, it's clear that I won't find out anything else here.
Veskyr raised his left hand, and a wall of force surrounded him. He then opened a portal to the Roanian palace and stepped through. The gun dropped to the ground as the portal closed behind him. He saw....
OOC: Roania, could you please fix that one image? I think that's what's messing up the page width.
IC:
Warlord Matthias read the reports, and smiled. He had coerced the support of several more squires. The Republic would be over before winter.
He picked up another list. "Total elves who have been... deleted are 4321, plus those who died in Alaitoc. Human traitors... 4 million."
He pressed a button, and dictated into a machine, "Begin killing the elven children. I think we're secure."

They ran into action fairly quickly. Nationalist forces charged from a cliff pass, opening fire with RA-87s. Armor piercing bullets detonated a Republican Tank's gas cylinder.
Simon swore. "Everyone, pull back and establish a line!"
"Sir, they're behind us too!" Simon wheeled around. Waves of bullets were firing at the convoy.
"Any good news?"
"We'll die quickly?"
"ATTACK!" Simon yelled. "Go where there line is thinnest, and spread out from there!"
The Republican forces pulled into a circle.
"Thanks." Freeman said, testing his grip on the rifle. "My name's Freeman. You?"
"Captain Malissa Hargraves, of the tenth legion!" She saluted sharply, and marched out of the tent.
Outside, preperations began for an attack.

Overhead, one of the F-35 Valkyr cut the sky. The radio crackled, "This is Major Leris! We need fire support on the ridge to the east. I'll designate on BattleNet!" On the HUD, a small red circle appeared, marking the ridge where the Roanian Nationalists were concentrated. "Bring down fire there, and we can get out!"
"Roger, doger." the pilot responded, flipping the Valkyr Toggle. In the port, on of the Onslaught Arsenal vessels flipped open it's VLS. "Fire inbound, ETA two minutes." Hundreds of cruise missiles rushed for the Nationalist lines, and the Dominator guns fired.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Leris flipped from BattleNet onto the normal coded frequencies, yelling over the growing din of gunfire, trying to reach Simon Darquis, "We've got incoming naval artillery on the east in about two minutes! Stay clear, but we can punch out then!" There was an explosion near his command HMMWV, and the vehicle rolled onto two wheels. The driver hauled the steering about and forced it back down, and Leris glanced back to the gunner, who was half gone, his chest vanished. "Shit! Get the gun!" he yelled at the other passenger, Gunnery Sergeant Wilson.
"Aye!" Wilson grabbed the NMG-1, hosing fire with the rest of the vehicles and soldiers. The NMG-1 was a unique weapon to Kaukolastan, as it fired 2mm Tungsten Carbide "Needles" that slid through armor, but did little damage. However, they were propelled by molded explosive, not conventional casings, and the gun needed no moving parts, just an electrical charge to fire. The barrel turned white hot, even with the heat pump on full, and a blue flame licked two meters from the end. Over one hundred rounds per second from a back seat resevoir, the NMG-1 spat needles of death in a constant line, the scream deafening those around.
Lenis watched the battle shifting on his tactical display, as the allied forces pulled back into a circle. "They're going to charge!" Nearby, an HMMWV exploded as a round punctured the armor and touched off the Needler ammo. "When the Nationalists' armor come 'round the bend, hit 'em with LOSAT!"
An explosion ripped into the allies. Two minutes, that's all we need...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Freeman followed her out, ready to join the fight.

"Strange... very strange."
Veskyr reinforced his shielding as much as he could, then began exploring the building.
The explosion hit the Nationalists right on their eastern flank. Hundreds of them died, but the shockwave carried on into the Republican and Kaukolastani forces.
Simon and his men quickly forced their way through and began to move quickly towards the capital.

Veskyr sighed, frustrated. He stopped moving, and began concentrating on the magic that filled the area. He closed his eyes, using senses far less common than sight

"Incoming!" the Major screamed into the comms gear for those who weren't getting the BattleNet reports. The cruise missiles and 18.1 inch gunfire slammed into the flank, sending walls of dust and fire and men into the air, with the screams of both metal and mortal. In that instant, hundreds died, including many unwritten heros...
Lieutenant Jacobs, 3rd Platoon, led his ragged squad, consisting of four HMMWVs and more infantry, into the targetted zone, to engage the Nationalist forces and hold them inside the targetting reticle. This platoon held the forces back for the minutes needed, keeping them away from the main force. At T plus fifteen seconds, most of the group fell back, but Jacobs and his Command HMMWV put themselves in the path of the Warlord's men, and held until the fires consumed both sides...
Master Sergeant Wills, 4th Platoon, rescued three soldiers from a burning M2, returning again and again, under fire, to pull them free. On his fourth trip, the gunfire arrived, and he vanished into the inferno...
Corporal Othelm, his HMMWV shot out, driver and commander dead, stayed on the gun behind the lines, in the fire zone, never stopping until the missiles silenced his guns...
By the dozens, the lights went out on the BattleNet, and Leris offered silent prayer. But he did not pause long. "Go!" he commanded, even as the fires continued. In unison, the Marine Units barrelled into the breach, the NMGs hurling arcs of blue fire into the stunned Nationalist lines. The mechanized units roared forward, plowing into the gap and firing into the flanks of the Nationalists as the Republican forces moved out, and then the Marines folded up, following the Loyalists, giving rear guard maneuvers to keep the Nationalists at bay, including NMG fire, LOSAT barrages, and the blatant use of AT and AP mines thrown from vehicles and dropped by minelayers.
Leris toggled the BattleNet. Eighteen vehicles, two platoons down, and six more in ragged shape. From that engagement, not bad at all. Everything was now dead or free of the fire zone, and the Loyalists were just now reforming. "All units are clear of zone! Lay down rear fire!" The fire support was thunderous. Fire before, fire behind, the naval guns resumed. Leris grinned at his driver. "Now that is support fire!" He flipped into the normal frequencies, "So, Mr. Darquis... any orders or advice?"
Simon stared, dazed. "Yeah... onward!" He pointed towards a cliff face. After a few minutes, he righted himself, and began to march towards the distant Stronghold.

Before Veskyr's terrified eyes, the second his probing began the castle walls faded out of sight. He could feel himself being torn from the city by a powerful force.
He landed in the middle of a cemetary, darkness crawling around his feet. A sense of age and majesty came from all directions, and an oppresive feeling of evil marked the hallowed grounds.

Oh, great. What is it this time?
Veskyr turned slowly to survey the area, moving as quietly as he could; he was ready to strike at the slightest sign of danger, be it physical, magical, or anything else.
The sound of footsteps could be heard approaching. A mocking laugh was heard. "So... someone finally found a way to disturb me. It's a pity, then, that you must die." There was a hiss of drawn steel.

((TG replied to, Roania.))
Drawing his sword from a hole in the air, Veskyr turned quickly to face the sound. Golden claws tore through the fingertips of his left glove.
"The least you can do, then, is tell me who you are before I die..."
The man laughed sinisterly, and stepped forward, revealing a tall human with cold blue eyes, and blond hair framing an aquiline face of unmeasurable cruelty. "My dear reptile... I, am Prince Alexander Tyral Black. And you are trespassing on unholy gr..." The earth shook. The Prince swore, and sliced his own blade through the air with a popping sound. "Damn."
Veskyr jumped back from the blow. Blades of n'veir slashed his robe to rags, and a swirl of force snatched the sunglasses off his face; both would be too restrictive in a fight. Under the robe he wore dark gray pants, thin, flexible boots, and a black shirt that left his arms bare below the elbows. His purple and black scales glittered, even in the dim light of the graveyard.
"I hear you have a civil war on your hand, your Highness."
"Not on my hands, dear sir." Alexander said, coldly. He looked around for the source of the quake. One of the tombs seemed dangerously ajar. "On the hands of my Prime Minister. I am decidedly neutral. I care not for whoever wins, as both sides have declared loyalty to me."
Veskyr watched him warily, but was careful not to ignore the surroundings, either. If anything moved out of his field of vision, he would still feel its effect on the n'veir, and he was paying more attention to that then to sight.
"A strange civil war, then, where both sides remain loyal to the ruler....
How did it start, if I may ask?"
Alexander snarled, once more, "I neither know, nor do I care. If millions of them die, so be it. I will not deal with them until there is peace. And if you think you'll drag me back there..." He snapped his fingers, and the area around lit with ghastly light. "You're sadly mistaken."
His sword stood ready, and Alexander thrust his cape back to reveal leather armor bloodied with the death of dozens. "Shall we dance?"
"I just came in search of information, but I don't suppose you'll let me simply leave..."
Gripping his sword awkwardly in a quivering hand, Veskyr waited.
Alexander was about to speak when another earth-quake began. He scowled. "Information? Very well. We'll talk, and then I'll kill you. Come, quickly, before the creatures below us wake." He gestured to a path which lead outside of the cemetary.
Veskyr strode swiftly up the path.

"Last stop, Roania, Nationalist pig contolled territory." A pilot quipped over his comm.
The lead pilot responded, the other pilots could envision him grinning. "Yeah, really. Skip in 4..3...2...1..."
A low thud followed by a shudder rumbled through the formation of twenty sub-orbital bombers and they nearly launched into space before the Earth's gravity reined them back in. The flaps on the bombers twitched simultaneously, and they dipped close to the atmosphere for a moment. The sleek bombers opened up and hundreds of dark shapes spilled forth down onto the concentrations of Nationalists most threatening to the Republican lines.
The chilling scream of the Steel Rain High Altitude ICM bombs could be heard by the forces below a few moments before the slim projectiles hit, the feeling of despair that every infantryman knew had arrived.
Blossoms of fire exploded over the men, scattering tiny projectiles too fast to be tracked by the soldiers below. A mixture of anti-personnel and anti-tank bomblets slammed into them, flinging dirt and debris skyward.
Elsewhere, the First ((Pacific or Atlantic?)) Fleet was a mere day off, consisting of two Tsujigiriaircraft carriers and numerous smaller warships.
