OOC: This is everything there is to know about Dregruk, in the vain hope that I can become an even more respected RPer...

IC:

The countryside

Dregruk is a massive land mass, in the arctic north of its region. Its landscape is spackled by vast mountain ranges, frozen wastelands and (Most notably) the ring of skeletons that mark the border clearly, set up by the ancient Germani who formed Dregruk during the turmoil of their war against the neighbouring tribes (OOC: Anyone remember Augustus?).

The cities

The cities in Dregruk are extremely varied.

Some are brand new, modern hives of technology and fast cars, while others are sprawling cityscapes, filled with victorianesque villas and traditional Dregruk music.

The largest city in Dregruk is the capital, Ghastopol. The northern section of the city was built by the Germani who formed Dregruk, and is littered with stone buildings (Reinforced by modern steel, of course). The southern section was build more recently, following the population boom, when the neighbouring nation of Jilankeet was finally defeated (See military).

Every city in Dregruk is patrolled by military personnel, thanks to militarism (See governing)

Notable figureheads

High Punisher Hrrachen:

Hrrachen came to power when Dregruk came into its present state of government, militarism. Following one of the most bloody military coups of Dregruk's violent history, Hrrachen was declared High Punisher, in the tradition of the previous dictators. He is solely in charge of the running of the country, and can order any individual to be executed at any time.

Warchief Grimzag Deathjaw

Dregruk's most important figurehead (OOC: And my favourite character for RPs...), Grimzag is in complete command of the military and its resources. He has no control over the decisions of the country, as far as economy and civil workings are concerned, but has proven himself to be a force more effective on his own than an entire tank regiment. During his career, he has: Brought down the oppressive neighbouring nation of Jilankeet, destroyed the Satansoft Corporation (With help from the now-retired El Presidente of Slutbum Wallah), ended a 400 day siege in southern Slutbum Wallah single-handedly (And proved to be a devastating jungle-fighter in the process), helped defeat the ring of vampires that terrorised Slutbum Wallah and much, much more.

Governing

Dregruk is under a system known as "Militarism". The entire country revolves around supporting its massive military. The streets of every residential area are patrolled by military personnel who shoot on sight after midnight. Any major offenders are sent to the punishment tower, a black monolith at the outskirts of Ghastopol, where their crimes are weighed up to decide a punishment. The maximum punishment involves being suspended from the tower by rope, your toenails pulled out one-by-one before finally being left to either suffocate, bleed to death or dehydrate.

Military

Dregruk is entirely dependent upon its military. Therefore, the majority of the nation's budget is spent on keeping the military one step ahead of competition. It pays for advanced weapons, armour, vehicles (OOC: No space tech) and greater numbers of troops.

The populace

The people of Dregruk have an inherited violent nature; they view peaceful methods as "Woosey" or "Just plain stupid". Because of this, Dregruk's police force adopt extreme methods of punishment (See "Governing"), so crime is kept very low. The people's vicious nature is channelled out through the nation's #1 sports show, "Convict Carnage", in which violent criminals are forced through a bloody and vicious tournament head-to-head with each other, usually the events are normal, everyday sports turned into brutal bloodsports. Of course, this has the unfortunate side-affect of having a small (But unfortunate all the same) percentage of people completely losing their grip of reality and going on wild killing sprees.
