OOC: Okay, heres the deal. people may play other characters in this RP, (I do need to meet a foriegn spy!) and may post nations opinions. I'm trying to put together a great rp experience. join at your leasure. until somone else decides to join in, i'm going to play the characters as well as the spy.
The spies name is Harris. Peter Harris.

IC:
"Good evening Peter."
"Good evening, miss Toffeepenny."
"E is waiting for you."
"What? no witty remark? no cheerful flirty scentence? Miss Toffeepenny, i'm devastated..."
"You know this kind of behaviour qulifies as sexual harassment, and you know what the penalty is for that here..."
The intercom buzzed.
"Miss Toffeepenny, don't make 005 later than he already is."
Peter walked into E's office.
"Drink?"
"Yes sir, i'll have a Jasso twist."
"Now anyway 005, the reason we called you back from your last assignment is that we need your help on an interplanetary mission."
"I've served some time on Tydus Prime sir, i'm pretty sure this can't be much more difficult."
"We're sending you to the Mars colonies. you will travel on public transport, so no-one will know you have left. We believe that a madman on Mars is planning to unleash a super-virus on the Earth, and then take over once life has died."
"Where did this evidence come from?"
"007 died to possess it."
"okay sir, i'll leave immediatly."
"Good. remember to see G for equiptment as you leave."

"Good morning G."
"Ah, hello. Now pay attention 005, and i shall demonstrate your new equiptment."
G picked up a phone.
"See, this looks like a regular mobile telephone. But inside, is a small, hidden blaster that is undetectable in customs. It also features a lifesign sensor, and a 50,000 volt security system, and it still works as a phone."
"A great way to spend the day."
"Pay attention. Now, your new hovercar. Sensor tracking system, type 4 plasma cannons planted behind the headlights, and thruster rockets for that extar burst of speed. and this, i'm particularly proud of. A self destruct system with a 50 M blast radius."
"What a way to go."
"Oh, grow up 005. Miss Toffeepenny has your Transport tickets, get to the Spaceport. i'll have your equiptment waiting for you on Mars."

Hmm.... what is the exact nature of the setting?
(What tech level, is magic allowed, etc. Obviously space, but that's a wide range.)

Nice!
Hmm... I can have an Ariddian spy join in if you like. Either as an ally (they go there together), or you can meet him/her snooping around when you get there...

Sounds good. i'm going to set this all up before continuing tommorrow. do some planning. what will be your chara's background? what will they be doing on mars? keep thinking, and this RP will come out good.
OOC: I could use on of my spys, who is really like splinter cell. He could go undercover on Mars. I was thinking that my guy is one of those characters that the main guy sees but he dissapears before he can get there.

Mars? Did anyone say Mars?
And what nation is your bold agent about to spy on? Melkor? Menelmacari?
Bajon? Me? The Snel?
Have you checked a map of Mars (http://www.pacifier.com/~cziller)?
Are you aware of the latest (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=120396&start=0) political developments in Mars? (Actually, there are a lot of spying chances there).
Oh, and for now, this is a TAG.

lmao! someone has been watching 007 movies a bit too much....
and btw, cant do a charecter, too busy...
*Layna sits at her desk, studying hard, it's getting late. Outside the thick window the Martian sunset falls gradually through the dusty air. From the corner of her eye she sees the last student leave... sure she's alone, she slips out a folder from under her books. The emblem on the front looks like a dagger cleaving a planet in two, but she knows what it really means. Opening the folder, she traces the complex writing with her finger, decoding the encryption, translating her mission...*
Sounds good. i'm going to set this all up before continuing tommorrow. do some planning. what will be your chara's background? what will they be doing on mars? keep thinking, and this RP will come out good.
Ariddia isn't a military power, so it keeps itself safe by having a good Intelligence network. Now that the Cold War with West Ariddia has ended, Ariddia has been able to purchase West Arissian space shuttles... and infiltrate agents on Mars.
Agent Mélodie Avril (Double-X) is from Intelligence Section 119 (so-called because its headquarters are on the 119th floor of the famous but supposedly empty Progress Tower in the city of Rêvane, not that anyone knows that). Section 119 is in charge of international counter-threat operations.
Avril is trained in infiltration and subterfuge. She'll be sent to Mars to assess the possible threat reported by infiltrated agents, and act accordingly.
Now I need to know how and where 005 and Double-X meet. ;)

"007 died to possess it."OOC:  How dare you! Bond cannot die! N matter how old he shold be or how many times he should get killed, he remains. *whispers* I think he's either a god or an android...
I will watch this for now, but I may join. I have to wrap up a current story RP first.
OK... Mirdath has no RP history here, but wants to play.
Mirdath is a small and aggressive Martian nation heavily dominated by its larger neighbours and due to being on the losing side in a recent war has many sanctions and restrictions imposed on it around which the government tries to sneak wherever possible. This includes a very limited army as well as restrictions on trade and travel, and recently the government's been trying to strengthen the country's position by intelligence links with other nations on both planets, officially as far as it can, and otherwise by sending spies. nb, the spies aren't 'good' or 'evil' at least at the moment, they're just... patriotic.
anyway will that do, g2g just now!

Character introduction: (this takes place in a random city; the exact location isn't important).
A tall, dark haired man moves quietly into an alley. He is wearing dark gray pants and shirt, black gloves, a brown leather coat with a number of pockets, and a large backpack; he walks with a noticeable limp. As he steps deeper into the alley, five figures emerge from the shadows. Most are armed with clubs, knives, and other such weapons; one carries a low-grade blaster. This one, who seems to be the leader, says grimly "Well well well... look what we have here! Got anything valuable, stranger?"
"Get out of my way, you scum. I don't have time for this nonsense."
"Huh, it's an arrogant little rabbit we've caught, isn't it?" The other four laughed. "Who do you think you are, anyway?"
"I am called Vulcan; that is all you need to know. This is your last warning. Go now, and I will let you live."
"Kill him!" commanded the leader; the nearest thug swung his club at Vulcan's head. It hit his suddenly-upraised arm with a loud clang... a blaster fired... and the leader fell, dead.
"Now look what you've made me do!" Vulcan glared at the smoking hyouole in the palm of his left glove. "Do you know how much these things cost? Well, this one's ruined...." Steel claws ripped through its fingertips, and he drew a large knife from under his coat with his right hand. The fight was over in moments; none of the muggers escaped.
Vulcan limped quickly into the depths of the alley, then paused to examine a door. He fastened a small metal box to the door's lock, adjusted a timer, and stood back. A moment later the thermite charge went off, briefly filling the alley with bright light. Vulcan tugged at the door handle, but it still refused to open. He slammed his left fist through the heavy door and ripped it off its hinges, then vanished into the shadows within the building.
A while later, he returned to the alley. His backback looked much lighter as he limped quickly away to the spot where he had hidden his car. He drove away calmly, as if he had nothing to hide. Three hours after he passed the city limits, an explosion blasted through the town hall; most of the City Council was killed. One politician, who had not attended the Council meeting due to "illness," started the process of an untraceable transfer of funds from the city's budget to the account of the mysterious individual known as "Vulcan".
Vulcan arrived at his lair to find a message waiting for him. Few people knew how to get in contact with him, and this was from the one he trusted most.
Vulcan,
I think I have another job for you. This one's big, a long-term contract. You interested?
-Blue Fox
He replied:
Of course I'm interested. Arrange a meeting at the usual place; tomorrow at 3 p.m. if possible. Don't let them pick the time, of course.
Good luck, and thanks.
-Vulcan
OOC: How's this for a high-level henchman? Several years ago he was held up while on a job, and was severely injured in the explosion; his left arm and leg had to be replaced with mechanical versions. Since that time he has had a number of dangerous and illegal modifications made to them. Some say that his mind was twisted by the complicated neural surgery that gave him mental control of his weapons systems... but not to his face. He is utterly merciless, and very good at anything involving death or destruction. The job offer he just recieved is intended to be from the main villian, or one of his other henchmen.

OOC: Im taking the liberty to play the evil Madam, since you didnt post that no-one could TIN ;)
Though, If you dont like it.. just ignore it.
And this is before Khar Vadis post.
IC:
"So.. you say that you have no idea where the disk is? You also say that you have no involvement with the disk dissapearing?"
"n..no madam.. I dont"
The location was a dark cold cellar. It smelled like the event that was happening now, had happend alot at this place before.
A young man sat on a chair, tied up and blody from all the beating.
He knew ofcourse that he had everything to do with the disk dissapearing.
However, he knew he would die whatever he said at this moment. And nothing would save his neck. So he didnt tell anything.
"How is your wife?.. and your children?" The woman asked, she was quite atractive, very atractive.
The man looked up at her.. "no.. dont touch them.. you wouldnt dare.. I'l KILL YOU!"
"I dont think that you are in any possition to threaten me. Might I just enlighten you that you are tied up with a chair, in a cellar.. and no one is going to save you? Be reasonable with me now so I dont have to take your family here and snapp every bone in their bodies.. one by one. Are you willing to hear them scream as I drain them from their blood? As I hammer one toe after another, as I cut of one finger after another. Are you willing to hear your wife scream in pain when I nail her up to the wall and let my men rape her? Just because you stole something that was very stupid to steal?"
Now he knew, now he knew she was serious..
"o..okay.. I'll tell you.. I'll tell you everything..just dont harm them.."
"ofcourse not" she replied.
"I took it.. and then I sold it.. I dont know his real name.. but he called himselfe Lotus"
The womans eyes flashed in anger.. the name rang not only one, but all the bells in the world.
Her name was Nikita and Lotus had been her.. man.. in the past. She knew that this was only a way for him to get her attention.. and her attention he sure got.
"You stupid FOOL! And you thought that you would get away with it? Seriously.. you are quite stupid.. so very stupid"
She raised her arm and aimed the gun at his head
"and there is no way you can repair the damage you have done"

Some hours later

Will do. I'll post in a few hours to get XX onto this mission.
DarkSith Mars Colony
03-02-2004, 13:21
OOC:
As I said, Martian politics are somewhat important.
Where is this happening? There are countries where I can intervene, overtly or covertly, and there are some, like the Vascilian League, where you won't find a DarkSithian because we are quite at odds.
Most martian nations have strong governments and quite advanced tech, making hard for any non-government-sanctioned activity to take place.
I am not trying to prevent you from having fun, but if you make the action take place in Mars, better have a look at the map and shape the RP accordingly. I am still not sure if any of my operatives can or cannot get involved. Or if there is any danger to Mars, or the terraforming effort.
Should DarkSith Mars Colony get information in that sense, it would be shared with the nations involved in the terraforming and either overt or covert action would be coordinated. May be something like sending one or two agents to confirm the situation, and then call the big guns to clean up the mess.
Don't disclose any element you have in store for the RPing, but try to have in mind that at some point or another one or more of the Martian Intelligence Services may or may not be a part of this, depending simply on where is this happening.

“Ah, come in, Double-X.”
Mélodie had always wandered why Zero spoke with what sounded like a Russian accent. From what little she knew, his family had been mostly Ariddian for generations. Did he do it for style? Or maybe just to keep the entire staff of Section 119 wondering, perhaps?
She stepped into the large, well-lit room. She was a fairly tall, graceful but athletic woman with long, flowing black hair, and gentle blue eyes. Zero – a short, lean man with thinning black hair – was at his desk. There were no windows, just neon lights in the ceiling. The people in the skyscrapers surrounding Progress Tower were not to see that lights were on and people moving on the one-hundred and nineteenth floor of the supposedly empty Tower.
“I am sorry for your loss,” Zero said gravely. “Sit down.”
Mélodie did as she was told, and nodded.
“Thank you, sir.” A few days previously, agent EY had been killed on a mission. While she hadn’t known him all that well, she had worked with him several times, and they had begun to grow. . . close. “Do we know who did it?” she asked, trying to keep her emotions in check.
“We’re not certain,” Zero said gently. “Possibly an agent from the Imperial Navy.”
Her gaze snapped up to meet his, shock and anger in her eyes.
“They’re not our enemies!”
“We believe it may have been a misunderstanding,” he explained. “An accident. Double-X, try not to dwell on it. He knew the risks. And I need you to concentrate on a new mission.”
“Yes,” she said stiffly. “Sir.”
“Things are happening on Mars. Our infiltrated agents believe a deadly virus is brewing. We could be seeing preparations for the end of life on Earth.” He paused. “Our West Ariddian neighbours have construction contracts with several Martian companies. We’ll get you in as an investor on a West Ariddian company space shuttle. Our neighbours are kindly cooperating, and will brief you on how all this capitalist stuff works. ” He pulled a file out of his desk drawer and slid it over to her. “Familiarise yourself with this. Then destroy it. Once on Mars, investigate and, if necessary, take appropriate action.”
She nodded.
“Understood.”
“You’ll have to find yourself a weapon once you get there. But we have got” – he fished into the drawer once more – “a couple of pens for you.”
Mélodie blinked.
“Sir?”
“The blue one sprays acid. The red one can project a thin laser beam, enough to cut through most alloys. You’ve still got your watch with all the usual gadgets?”
She lifted her forearm to show him. She almost smiled, but somehow she wasn’t in the mood.
“Is that all, sir?”
“Yes. Good luck to you, XX. Come back alive.”
“I do try.” She stood. “I’ll bring you back a souvenir from Mars.”

Harris arrived at the Imperial Spaceport. a massive structure, with some of the tightest security in the NS world.
http://www2.odn.ne.jp/~cdw57360/g_1/waterfront_2zz.jpg
"Please check in Mr. Harris" said the lady at the check in desk.
"Of course." said Harris, showing his ID and papers.
"Err, yes Mr. Harris, just one moment."
She vanished behind a curtain at the back. shortly after she returned.
"Here you go Mr Harris, enjoy your flight. IA flight number 276, boarding platform 7."
"Thanks."
Heading to the jet, he felt he was being followed. Turning around, he saw 4 men, armed with Imperial Blasters aiming at him.
at the same moment, a woman noticed the men and screamed.
The men were distracted, giving Harris enough time to draw his pistol and blast 2 of the men, before jumping behind a suitcase.
the other 2 began blasting at the suitcase, trying to draw harris out. all they got were more blaster shots, and another one fell.
The last one saw sense and ran for it, but too late. Harris put a bolt into his back.
Checking the mens bodies, he found they worked for the Virgon Corporation, a vast corp based on Mars. He ran for the flight as fast as he could.
i would really like to join in the RP but im not sure what character to be. what if i was a Crapes CULT PLANNING AN UPRISING TO TAKE OVER THE GALAXY!! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!! i promise to make this as serious as possible. none of the cultists are super strong. they are just ordinary people with normal jobs and guns. they are very stealthy
On a shuttle heading towards Mars, Max Harper a member of the Busby Elite Special Forces, recives his information.
"Max we heading to Mars." H says.
"A space flight, Goody." Max says in a low deep voice.
"Your mission is at the top level of security. We have information of a deadly virus. We are unsure to what its purpose is, but the President would rather not take that chance. There has been a lot of tension of Mars, and we would not like Earth to get on the stiky end of it."
"I see so i bust in a complex destroy the virus." Max said casual.
"Negative Max, we not even sure where it is. Your going undercover as a rich businessman. We have supplied the stuff needed, try and find out about the virus on the business world. They could look to sell it on the Black Market."
"Ok."
"Oh and Max, act more like a businessman." H pleaded.
"Like i wouldn't." Max replied.
"Oh and your name will be Henry Winston."
"I never really liked the name Henry."
"Live with it Max, you will be landing soon. You will meet the operative at the shuttleport, with the usual methods."
here is a more detailed storyline for my character. the cult of the Poisoned Blade is planning the downfall of the galaxy by using the chemicals of a virus to open a portal to release deamons upon the universe to feed upon everyones souls. the name of the leader is Kain and although not physically super strong he is very intelligent and good with a gun. On the other hand I allready took the role as the supreeme bad guy (woman).
Agent XX sat still as the large shuttle, company logo prominently displayed on both sides, glided into the Martian atmosphere. It felt a little odd, pretending to be a West Ariddian investor. As a child, she had grown up knowing that the West Ariddian secessionist capitalists, with their missiles pointed at Ariddia, were the enemy. Now, the Cold War was over and she, a communist agent, was receiving assistance from capitalist businesspeople.
It was a strange world, she thought as she opened the one envelope she had extracted untouched from the now destroyed file. It contained the photo of a suspect, and she had decided to commit it to memory just before arrival. She looked into the chiselled face of a handsome man in his thirties, his hair dark and neat, his eyes an attractive grey. This man, agents reported, was probably just a go-between employed by whatever mastermind was plotting the end of the world. But he would probably be attending a large ball for international businesspeople and investors, no doubt – the infiltrated agents had hypothesised - to make contact with someone who would have the means to spread the virus on Earth.
She studied the photo for a few seconds, then crumpled it into a small ball, chewed and swallowed it.
The shuttle was touching down. She stood, elegantly dressed as befitted a rich investor. Aurore Grace was her name now. She smoothed a crease out of her skirt, and prepared to go through customs.

3:00, a small park. Vulcan waits under a tree, leaning against the trunk. Blue Fox had told him the arrangements, and he was curious about this potential employer....
OOC: By the way, it is through Blue Fox that one usually contacts Vulcan; he's the one who knows the most about him. Some of the good guys might find him later; he sells information to anyone, amongst other things....
Danneland
04-02-2004, 08:44
Nikita walked casually into the park followed by two men in suits. It just seemed as if she was somewhat important, not that she was some terrorist leader.
The park itselfe was quiet, not another soul exept the four of them who were present.
Some imported birds stroled around in the park eating whatever they could find.
She walked up to the man leaning against a trunk.
Nikita smiled.. "I hope you got the newspaper with you, I am very keen on reading the latest news" she said softly, giving him a rather serious look.
http://www.inet.hr/~ilipec/Picturs1/Trinity.jpg
"Oh well, it dosent matter that mutch. Its just that I have some difficulty getting my hands on one nowdays."
She waved her hand and one of the men in suits gave Vulcan a yellow envelope containing two pictures.
http://home.postech.ac.kr/~artemis/photo/neo.jpg
"I want you to find this man and get a certain disc that he has.. that is mine"
http://www.sophia-int.co.jp/kakaku/gazou/dm1.jpg
"He stole it and I want it back.. as simple as that"
"questions?"
Khar Vadis
04-02-2004, 09:10
Vulcan tosses her a newspaper.
"Well, the more information I have about him, the faster I can find him. Also, what do you want done to him when I catch him?"
Danneland
04-02-2004, 09:20
She smiles as she catches as the newspaper. Walks over to Vulcan and leans at the trunk, opening the newspaper and starts reading.
"he goes by the name Lotus you might have heard of him.. you might not. There is little you need to know realy, but that he will probably attend a large ball for international businesspeople and investors. You may do whatever you want with him when you catch him. I have no intrest of him, anymore. Just get him to talk and get the disc. The payment will ofcourse"
She turned a page
"Be quite large."
Nikita slid another yellow envelope into the newspaper and folded it and gave it back to Vulcan.
"Here you go"
She smiled.
"Your name is Marc Steinward, rich, buisnessman, and has an invitation to this ball"
Khar Vadis
04-02-2004, 09:42
Vulcan grinned. "I'll get it."
------------
Some time later, successful businessman Marc Steinward set out for the ball. He looked like any other rich businessman, except for his black gloves.
Mélodie expertly concealed her discomfort as she stepped with a smile into a large, well-lit ballroom and the music, hush of conversation and clink of champagne glasses.
Decadent capitalists, she thought. Obsessed with wealth and the superficial. And I have to pretend I’m one of them.
She smiled politely as an attendant took her coat and bid her welcome. Her West Ariddian “aides” followed her in. It was here and now that her task really began. She would have to mingle with these businesspeople, pretend to be a rich, interested investor keen on placing a huge sum of west ariddian credits where they could best increase her own wealth. She repressed a shudder.
Looking round, smiling at those who happened to look back in her direction, she spotted the man from the photograph. Good. Keeping an eye on whom he talked to shouldn’t be much of a challenge. If she could just brush against him later and leave a miniscule recording device fixed to his sleeve. . .

Harris got out of the transport. Mars was a huge place, and transports were going all over the place.
Harris walked over to customs. Just as G said, he got through without any problems.
he set off to the garage where he was supposed to collect his new Car. It was a long ride on industrial transport, but he had to lay low until he had his car.
G was waiting for him at the base, which was an old garage...
"E wants an update. what happened at the airport, 005?"
"I checked in, and 4 men checked out."
"005, please try to avoid public kills. remember, try not to reveal who you really are."
"Don't they know already? they did try to kill me... Now if you excuse me, i must check into the hotel."

There! That's Lotus, almost certainly. he thought, seeing the black haired man.
Vulcan wandered over to a wall, where he leaned back. His eyes never rested on Lotus, but he made sure to keep the man within his view at all times.

"Afraid you'll have to wait for the Hotel Harris, we have reason to believe that one of the crimelords henchman is at a ball tonight, seeking somone called lotus. you'll find an invitation in the glove compartment. move in and meet Lotus before we lose him."
"Yes sir. on my way."
Harris took off at full speed for the ball.
10 minutes later
Harris was outside the ball. he took a look at the picture of Lotus, then burned it.
Walking in, he handed his coat in and went to the bar.
(Had to do this :D ) "Vodkan Martini, shaken, not stirred."
Taking his drink, he noticed somone who looked like this Lotus person... and somone was following him.
Trying not to look suspicious, he edged towards the man...

Vulcan caught a glimpse of motion out of the corner of his eye. Turning, he saw a man standing nonchalantly against the wall nearby... a foot closer than he had been last time Vulcan looked. He walked towards the stranger; his gloved hands were in plain sight, but his left arm was subtly pointed at Harris.

He drew a small orb, threw it on the ground and ran. The orb bellowed heavy clouds of smoke, setting off the fire alarms and causing a panic. running out of the smoke, he noticed that Lotus was gone...

He ran for his car.

Zipping through the narrow streets, he bagan manuvers to try and shake them as they blasted at him continuosly.
"This could get nasty..."
He released a number of hovering pulse mines, and one passing car hit the mine, ripping apart in a shower of flame.
Harris took a sharp corner, and the cars were still comming...
OOC:
And Mélodie is after Lotus. . . This could become quite a tangle. ;)
IC:
She stood for a while in conversation with businessmen from around Earth, Mars and beyond, sipping champagne, smiling politely and asking the questions any good potential investor would ask.
“So tell me my dear,” a plump, greying man asked her. “How did one so young become rich so quickly?”
She gave him a charming smile.
“Skill,” she said simply, taking another delicate sip.
The man laughed.
“No false modesty! I like that. You look like a sweet young lady, but inside you have the keen hardness your job requires.”
She tilted her head slightly, and smiled again. In a way, that was a rather perceptive statement.
“Why, thank you. If you’ll excuse me. . .”
Her target, she had noticed, was standing between her and the lavatories, which gave her a plausible excuse to walk towards him. She brushed against him lightly, the tiny device immediately clinging to his sleeve.
“My apologies,” she said daintily, half turning. The man merely nodded silently.
Once inside the toilets, she locked the door and tapped her watch. The man’s conversation filtered through to her, low but clear. She smiled. Her watch could tape it for up to six hours, although somehow she felt she wouldn’t need that long. She emerged five minutes later, and quickly took in the scene. Two men, standing fairly near her target, were having a low, tense-seeming conversation. Her target seemed unaware of them. Her eyes darted to each man in turn. Her instincts told her something was building up.
OOC: And you added posts while I was writing... Will catch up momentarily.
She turned her attention to her target once more. All of a sudden, he seemed to have become aware of the rising tension, too. While the two men talked, he began moving quickly towards a side door.
Double-X hesitated only a moment, pausing to memorise the faces of the other two men, then followed him.
She was just reaching the door when smoke began to fill the room behind her, followed by screams and screech of a fire alarm. Her target hopped into a car. She bit her lip, and looked around.
Spotting a motorbike, she jumped onto it, and used her tiny tools to start it, then raced after the car.

There were gunshots behind her. The roads were erupting in chaos. She glanced briefly over her shoulder. There were several cars moving fast behind her. And a van. She grimaced. This was getting messy.

Vulcan raised his vehicle to the same level as the others, and approached the rearmost pursuer from the left.
Max entered the ball dressed in formal suit and carrying a black case. He entered the hall filled with big, fat businessmen, a few ladies and others. He hated his role, never did like being a businessman, but he had to do what he had to do.
It started off pretty casual, until the comotion started. A person ran off out of the hall but before he left Max took a quick photo. Others ran after, but he could only take a pictures of one of them, a woman. Nikita sighted.. so somehow someone had managed to cause panic at the ball with some smoke grenades and someone special, more or less Lotus had got out of there. Unnoticed.
"stupid stupid people.. one does not walk into a ball with a smoke grenade without a cause."
She turned around as she heard footsteps behind her..
"what news do you have?"
The man who stood infront of her smiled.. "It was a plesure to do your dirtywork"
Nikita roled her eyes and stood up.. "thankyou.. well?"

The man looked down and spoke slowly.. "you are not going to like this, one bit. But guess who has come to Mars?"
Nikita shook her head.. "I have no idea, Elvis has come home? never liked his music.. speak up Breed! tell me now"
Breed was his name, well.. what they called him, he had worked for Nikita as long as he could remember her existance. He was her right hand, and she was his.. well, boss.
Breed, a cold hearted martial art and i-got-a-gun-and-can-hit-things-with-it expert. former MI-6 now, on the wrong side of the law.
"Dubble o-5 is in town.. Harris"
Nikita stood still.. "well then.. Breed, it must be nice to know that one of your good ol' friends is here. If MI6 was there, they must have been after Vulcan or.. Lotus.. they are not! allowed to find Lotus before us! If MI6 get their hands on that disc, all that we have worked for is lost!"
Breed nodded and walked out of the room, leaving Nikita with her anger.
He was about to meet someone from the past, someone that he sure had a lot of history with..
(OOC: Just bringing in more intruiges (sp?) :P )
Double-X looked up, startled, as the cars behind her took to the skies, and began to fly above the traffic. She stared, then had to focus her attention back on the crowded street and not crashing her motorbike into anything or anyone. With one hand, she set her watch to take photographs, and took a few snaps of the cars.
She couldn’t follow them into the air and, besides, she had her target to follow.
By the looks of it, though, the lead car behind her was following him, too.
What a merry procession we make, she thought wryly, acutely aware that she looked very out of place driving a motorbike in her elegant dress.
The car up ahead swerved into a narrow alleyway, the driver obviously realising he would never outrun his airborne pursuers in the busier roads. Double-X followed.

From tomorrow i'm going to be busy with college work until monday, but keep posting on what happens after my character escaped. i'll see you monday, have a great weekend.
They had reached the side of an artificial canal, and her target was now driving on a large pedestrian walkway, scattering panicked strollers as he drove at full speed.
The police will be onto him soon, Double-X thought. And onto me, unless I stop him.
She would have liked to stay on the road, but it was one way, and trying to keep up with her target while going against the traffic would be remarkable stupid. She slipped onto the pedestrian path and continued pursuit.
A cloud of dusty martian soil rose in her wake. She glanced over her shoulder and up; there was only one flying car left now, but she couldn’t tell who was at the wheel.
They were entering an area where the houses gave way to large industrial buildings, many of which seemed abandoned. . . which was surprising in a modern Martian nation. The car up ahead veered back onto the road and down into an empty street. In the distance, she heard sirens.
The driver’s window opened, and her target glanced out at her with a pistol in his hand. His first, awkward shot whizzed by uncomfortably close to her head.
Time to end this, she decided. She reached into her pocket and drew out her red pen. Aiming as best she could, she pointed it at the right rear wheel, and clicked, just as another bullet skimmed past her. A thin laser beam tore into the tyre. Then she burst the other rear tyre. The driver struggled for a few seconds, then crashed into the gate of an abandoned industrial complex.
She skidded to a halt a few meters away. He was armed; she had only her laser-pen. Of course, she could probably use it to defend herself, but she wanted to catch this man alive. He was her only lead.
A gunshot rang out, and for a moment she feared he had killed himself. Then she saw him scramble out through the front viewscreen he had just shattered, over the partially unhinged gate, and into the front courtyard of the industrial complex, running hard.
Clenching her jaw, Double-X followed him. As she reached the top of the gate and leapt down, he turned briefly and fired again, the bullet pinging against one of the gate’s metal bars. Then he had vanished inside one of the buildings.
I must be insane, she thought. Unarmed, and racing after an armed man who’s already shot at me three times.
She rushed across the courtyard. As she reached the open door he had entered, she heard a sound somewhere behind her, and paused just long enough to see the flying car set down, and a man step out. He was one of the two who been talking tensely together in the ballroom. She gave him a brief, curious glance, then entered the building.
Max entered his room in the expensive hotel. A beautiful view of Mars' rich red soil, and the lights of vehicles and buildings lit up the dark night. Being on level 510 he could see pretty much anything.
He moved away from the window and opened his briefcase. A small compact lap top opened up revealing a blue screen.
"PASSWORD." The lap top spoke in a low deep voice.
"Excalibur, 245-89." Max replied. A few seconds past and it spoke again.
"Incorrect, 10 seconds tilll security alarm." Max raised his eyebrow and waited. When the counter reach 3 secconds he spoke "Excalibur Sword, 877-234." The count down stopped.
"Time security system passed.
Voice recognision, authorized.
Password input correct.
Welcome Agent Max Harper."
"Put me through to H-24." The screen changed to a connecting sign, a small blue bar began to load up.
"Hello Max." H-24 said. She was a small young blond, woman who Max would always try to flirt with, even though that both of them didn't really mean it.
"Looking as beautiful as ever, 24." She blused, the red on her cheeks stood out like the red on a clowns nose.
"Thank you Max, what can i do for you."
"I need a background check on these people." He pressed a button on his watch and then a few seconds later she recivied them.
"I see, it may take awhile its a awfully big universe out there Max." 24 said.
"Try and search for people in military services and try and link them with this mission."
"Ok Max i will get back to you as soon as possible. Oh and Max we got a lead for you. Her name is Nikita, she was at the ball. Not your average business woman Max becareful."
"When am i never careful?" Max said joking. She smiled
"Ok here is the photo of her." He pressed his watch and a beautiful woman appeared.
"Wow nice."
"Theres nothing nice about her Max. Find out what you can we have already sent an invite to her, to sent up a business meeting."
"Great, hard chairs, boring charts what could be more exciting."
"You got to do it Max, remember your name is Henry Winston. Good luck Henry." She smiled and the screen went black. He close his brief case and looked at the woman on his watch. He said to himself,
"I hate the name Henry."

This could well be Harris, she had no idea what allias he was under at the moment.. and he didnt know that she knew that he was here, and he certainly didnt know who she was.

The guard left and she changed her clothes into something more.. elegant, a black dress.
some hours later
The door wich lead into Max's hotell room got knocked on, some three fast knocks..
"whats taking so long?" she thought..
In another part of town: Harris Hotell Room
The door opened slowly, he knew that there were probably more cameras here than in a bank, on the other hand he knew that they knew who he was and he knew that they knew better than to step in.
With him he dragged in a maid, dead? no, uncontious? yes.
Breed closed the door and looked around.
"Still the expensive way? MI6 has some problems with low-budget missions.." he thought while drawing the curtains infront of the windows.
Making it very dark in the hotell room.
Breed opened the front door again and whent out, comming back with a black bag. He pulled up a large box from the bag and pressed the button, sending a small EMP pulse through the room taking out all electric equipment. Including the lights.
He placed a chair in the middle of the room facing the door, there he sat down and pulled up a gun.
"Now just the waiting"

A background check on Vulcan, with the right sources:
Real name: unknown (not even Blue Fox knows)
Origin: unknown
Career: assassin, terrorist, and general killer-for-hire. He will work for anyone who will pay his price, and perform virtually any task; he is never known to have accepted a bribe while on a job.
Skills: explosives, blaster, hand-to-hand... basically, killing people. He is also very good at locating targets that don't want to be found. Decent, though not exceptional, ability at acting, driving, and other skills that are useful in his line of work.
Reputation: those who are familiar with his name consider him extremely dangerous. He is not considered one for subtlety, and does not seem to make any effort to conceal his plans when not in disguise.
The information dealer known as Blue Fox is said to be able to get into contact with him. Some say he has ties with the Khar Vadis organization, but he is not a member of it.
A traitor once warned the police of his presence while he was on a job, and he was severely injured when the bomb went off. He does not know who exactly this was, but he has been hunting for his betrayer ever since. His left limbs had to be replaced with mechanical ones. It is known that he has a number of weapons hidden in them, and that he has undergone several other related operations since then, but few people know any details about that.
(If there's anything else you want to know, just ask and (if it's known) I'll tell you. Vulcan is based on Jaws more than anyone else, but not completely.)

Mélodie moved fast but cautiously. She could hear her target’s pounding footsteps echoing up a flight of stairs, and she followed, gripping her laser pen. He didn’t know she was unarmed, which was probably the only reason he hadn’t turned to face her.
At the top of a spiralling stairway, she reached a large storeroom filled with empty, spilled crates. The floor was covered with dust and there was dust in the air. This place had been abandoned for some time.
The man was running. She could see no other door, however, in spite of the room’s size. He turned round, paused briefly to fire at her, missing by about two meters as the bullet hit the wall, then continued running.
It was then that she noticed the floor did not go all the way to the opposite wall. There was a large gap, which had presumably been used to lift crates up to this storage level. The man was heading for the gap – and for the broken window in the wall facing him.
“No!” she shouted, suddenly realising what he had in mind. “You won’t make it!”
He ignored her, and she watched him wide-eyed for a moment. She considered firing a laser beam into his leg to stop him, but it was too late. He had reached the gap and jumped, arms outstretched towards the shattered window.
He missed. There was a brief shout, and a thud. She winced, then turned and rushed back down the stairs.
She found him sprawled unmoving. Quickly, she felt for a pulse. . . and breathed a faint sigh of relief as she found one. He was unconscious, however, and in need of help. She proceeded to search him, relieving him of his gun, identity papers, and everything else he had on him save for his money. One item was of particular interest. A disk. She observed it for a moment, then slipped it into her pocket.
Walking out of the abandoned complex, she made an anonymous call for an ambulance from a nearby phone booth, then returned to her hotel. . .

The disk intrigued her. She had looked it over thoroughly, but had not been able to read it; obviously, it was protected in some way. Her superiors back in Rêvane had told her to hand onto it until she could pass it on to an infiltrated agent who would bring it to Ariddia for analysis.
They had also drawn up images of the two men she had seen at the ball. One they were still checking on. The other was a citizen of the Imperial Navy. He was presently staying at a hotel not far from her own.
Mélodie smiled, and reclined in her comfortable sofa. This hotel was far more luxurious than anything in Ariddia. She had to admit, decadent capitalists did have a few things going for them. A little luxury was nice from time to time. . .
Perhaps I should pay a little visit to the man, she thought, biting into an apple. He was, after all, her only lead. . . other than the man now lying in hospital, whom she had every intention of seeing again soon, too.
Yes, but under what pretext?
Well, she didn’t have to speak to him. Snooping round his room a little might prove productive enough. She could go in as a maid. It was classic, but it’s the simple things that usually work best. . .
= = = = = = = =
"I’m afraid I’m not here on a social visit, what are you doing here Harris?"
Double-X lay on the bed in her new hotel room, a smile on her lips. She had changed her mind. It was much easier to just move to the mystery man’s hotel, and arrange to have the room just next to his. She had fixed one of her tiny audio devices just over the door to his room, and now lay comfortably listening to everything he and his ‘friend’ were saying.
She had got herself another apple, and munched at it while she took in every fascinating detail.
"How could I forget my friend. . . you were the only non-imperial citizen to ever graduate from the academy. I thought you were my friend, but I knew you weren’t dead. . . somehow. . . What are you doing here?"
At the first sign of either of them leaving, she would of course casually happen to walk out of her room at the same time, bump into the man. . . and yet another of Section 119’s marvellous little spy devices would come in most handy.
She took another bite of her apple, and waited.

"I'm looking for Gordon Harris, my Brother."
"We don't have a Gordon Harris here. Maybe you're referring to our John Doe. Right this way."
The doctor opened the door to reveal Lotus, out cold and tubes all over him.
"That's my brother. Thank you doctor. Can we be alone please?"
"Certainly." said the doctor, closing the door and walking away.
No sooner had the doctor closed the door, Had the clever spy lept into action.
Grabbing the man from the bed, Harris deployed a rope concealed in his belt buckle, threw it out of the window, and lept down the line, with the out cold Lotus over his shoulder.
Having reached the bottom, the security alarm had already been tripped.
Quick as he could, harris stashed Lotus in the passenger seat, and shot off at full speed away from the hospital before the cops arrived.
"Great work 005. Bring him to our HQ. it's on your radar."
"We have bases everywhere, don't we?"
"Well, everywhere where the nation likes us. Just bring him in, and we'll look after him until he wakes up."
Harris had left his room shortly after his guest. Mélodie had considered following him, but then had opted to search his room. She unlocked his door as calmly as though she had every right to, then stepped in and began a thorough look around, careful not to disturb anything. There wasn’t all that much out of the ordinary, but an occasional out-of place belonging suggested Harris wasn’t quite your ordinary tourist or businessman. She smiled. What now?
She decided to pay a visit to her ‘friend’ in hospital. He might have regained consciousness by now. She left Harris’ room, popped by quickly to hers to take the disk with her – she didn’t want to leave it where snoops might find it – and went looking for a taxi.
= = = = = = =
The police cars outside the hospital told her immediately something was wrong. She had waited too long. Someone had got to him before her. Mentally, she cursed herself.
She moved nearer on foot. The hospital hadn’t been cordoned off, and she slipped inside.
“. . . tallish guy, muscular, dark hair,” a doctor was telling two police officers. “Said his name was Harris, and that the patient, our John Doe, was his brother.”
Again, Mélodie inwardly cursed herself. Harris had outmanoeuvred her. Time to put an end to that. She returned to the hotel, and stopped by her room to get the gun she had taken from the unconscious body of the man Harris had now kidnapped. Then she let herself into Harris’ room once more. He wasn’t in.
She helped herself to an apple and sat down, gun in one hand, to wait for him. When the door opened some time later, she pointed the gun at him. A part of her noticed he was even more handsome than she had remembered, but she would not let that distract her.
“Do come in, Mr. Harris,” she said sweetly. “With your hands spread away from your body. You and I need to talk. . .”

Harris stood in the doorway.
"My dear, what are you doing in my room? and why didn't you set off my booby trap?"
Double-X smiled. The man had charm, that much she had to admit. But of course, he was also dangerous, and she wasn’t going to underestimate him.
“Perhaps because I know what I’m doing. Besides, I have the gun, so I ask the questions. Come in, and close the door, will you?”
She crossed her legs and looked at him.
“What do you know of the man you’ve so inconsiderately removed from hospital?”
The Imperial Navy

"He's in good care." smiled Harris, sitting down nearby, and grabbing a bottle of Martini.
"Tell me my dear, why are you trying to find him so badly?"
Double-X tilted her head and flashed him an amused smile.
“I could, of course, ask you the same question, Mr. Harris. You don’t lose your nerve, I’ll give you that. Why don’t you start by answering my question, before I answer any of yours?”
She tapped her gun with her free hand, and said sweetly,
“After all, handsome, as I said, I’m the one who has you at gunpoint. So, what do you know of him? And why are you interested in him?”

Vulcan was out driving through the city, hoping for a lead, when he saw the stranger who had blown his cover at the ball go by at high speed... with Lotus in the passenger seat, beside him. Vulcan turned to follow them, keeping a ways back to avoid notice...
The Imperial Navy

Harris appeared to just harmlessly twist his watch. But just after that, the Female Agents gun flew out of her grip, and into the watch, which Harris just calmly took control of. He put the gun away.
"My dear, unless you start answering me, i'm afraid i'm going to have to cut you out of my investigation. I know who you are, Double X."
He relaxed in his chair with a Martini.
"Now, tell me what you have learned. Maybe it's time we started to pool our resources."

Vulcan noticed where Lotus was unloaded, but something told him the place was better gaurded than it looked. He stopped, just within sight of Harris' vehicle, recorded the building's location, and pretended to look at a map until the man returned. Vulcan followed him to the hotel, gave him a minute's lead, and then followed him in.
He watched the elevator to find out what floor Harris was on, then went up and started listening briefly at each door. Hearing a slight clang, he went to that room in time to hear Harris say
"My dear, unless you start answering me, i'm afraid i'm going to have to cut you out of my investigation. I know who you are, Double X."
Vulcan grinned.
This seems to be the right place; I've got my lead back...
He waited, listening carefully.

Harris herd somthing outside the door.
"Shh! stay here, and stay still." Harris wispered.
Harris walked over to the radio and turned on very loud music. he then set the radio next to the door.
"Right my dear, now we can hear each other, but no-one can hear us. but just to make sure...."
Harris took a small cylinder from his pocket. Walking around the room, it beeped next to the bed, on the cealing, and in the lampshade. Removing all the planted bugs, Harris set down once more.
"Somones on to us. we need to be careful. What have you learned my dear?"

Vulcan snarled silently. His left hand raised, tightening into a fist... then lowered.
There's no telling who's in there. They don't seem to trust each other, but there's little doubt they would unite if I burst in there. Best to wait...
Moving as quietly as he could with his mechanical leg, Vulcan retreated. He found a spot where he could easily watch the door, but couldn't be seen from within the room, drew a stunner with his right hand, and leaned against the wall to wait.

10-02-2004, 11:27
OOC: Yep. I'm just getting Vulcan into position to re-involve himself. After all, the villain is supposed to know more about what's going on then the hero... otherwise, what's the challenge? :D
Mélodie was unable to conceal her surprise as Harris disarmed her. She hid it a little better when he identified her as Double-X.
The situation was rapidly getting out of control.
"Somone’s on to us. We need to be careful. What have you learned my dear?"
She sighed.
“Since you’re no good at answering questions, maybe I should start. You seem to know who I am and who I work for. My government has sent me to investigate a potential massive virus dissemination threat. The man you kidnapped was my lead. My government believes he was a go-between, probably in charge of contacting ruthless businesses who would have the technical means to spread the virus across the Earth. I intercepted the man, but he knocked himself into a coma before I could question him. I emptied his pockets, of course.” She decided not to tell him about the disk just yet. Not unless he was willing to tell her a little too. She tilted her head. “Your turn.”

"I work for the Imperial Navy Government. My name is Harris, Peter Harris. Also Agent 005. I was sent here on the same mission. My orders were to capture Lotus and find out what they're up to."
"Lotus is quite safe. He's being cared for at our HQ. I'll take you to see him, but I need proof I can trust you."
“Pleased to meet you, Mr. Harris,” she said with a faint smile. “Mélodie Avril. And if you take me to see Lotus, I’ll show you something you might find of interest. But you’re right, trust is a problem. . .” She frowned for a moment, then looked at him once more. “Then again, it’s more of a problem for me than for you. If I betray you, you can always shoot me. I haven’t got that option.” She looked into his eyes. “But I think I’ll give trust a try. . .”
The Imperial Navy

"Hmm... okay. we'll take a trip to HQ... you'll be under armed guard there."
Harris lowered a rope out of the window.
"We'll take the back exit. I feel the door is being watched. Ladies first."
Khar Vadis
10-02-2004, 12:22
OOC: Grr.... Don't expect me to hold back if he ever catches you!
Actually, if Harris can tell that much from hearing one noise...
IC: Vulcan stood up, suddenly. He was usually patient, but losing Lotus had put him in a bad mood. Besides, was that a window openning he had heard?
He charged the door, kicking it down, and crashed into the room. His stunner and the blaster hidden in his left arm were both ready to fire....
The Imperial Navy
10-02-2004, 12:25
Harris turned to see the man he'd saw at the ball.
"Ah, my old friend hoppy. Farewell."
Harris lept out of the window, throwing a grenade into the room as he left...
OOC: The spy always has a trick up his sleeve... :D
Mélodie lifted her eyebrows, then nodded.
“How very chivalrous of you.”
She climbed over the window edge and began to move down the rope. It was then that the door burst open. Mélodie was unarmed, and right now she was just blocking Harris’ exit. She scrambled down the rope faster, jumped the last two metres, and drew her laser pen to cover her fellow agent.
As it happened, he didn't need it. He came flying out, and an explosion blasted from the room he had just vacated.
"Do you always go out with a bang?" Mélodie asked wryly as she pocketed her pen. "Who was he? I saw you two talk at the ball. And he was watching Lotus there."
Khar Vadis
10-02-2004, 12:38
Vulcan cursed, and blasted the grenade in mid-air. The shock wave made him stagger, but he wasn't injured. The window, on the other hand, was widened considerably. he strode swiftly to the gaping opening, and looked down.
OOC: He's about as easy to kill as Jaws....
The Imperial Navy
10-02-2004, 12:39
Harris Dragged the female spy to his car, and drove off immediatly.
"I have no idea who that guy was, but he's a problem. I believe he's working for our target. he's after Lotus. that's why I got him out of there."
The Imperial Navy
10-02-2004, 12:43

10-02-2004, 12:47
Vulcan gripped the rope in his left hand, and slid down at high speed. He quickly memorized the appearance of the car and its occupants, then ran to his own vehicle and headed after them. He knew they had enough of a lead that they would probably get away, but they, and the address he had recorded earlier, were the only leads he had.
OOC: Yup. :D
Mélodie nodded. She glanced out of the car, in time to see their attacker peer through the hole that had been a window.
“Let’s hope Lotus is talkative, then.” She looked at Harris. “I have a feeling it’s going to be. . . interesting working with you.”
The Imperial Navy
10-02-2004, 13:00
Harris initiated hover mode and bagan to twist and turn in the maze of buildings in the area.
"Blast this guy's really getting on my nerves... We'll have to lose him. hold on."
Harris swerved down a VERY narrow street. so narrow he had to turn the vehichle sideways. surely no-one could dodge anything down here.
He released a mine...
“Isn’t that rather. . . dangerous?” Mélodie commented. “Dropping mines in the street?”
She glanced back down the narrow alley.
“If you give me my gun back, I could help.”
Khar Vadis
10-02-2004, 13:07
OOC: Hahaha! One of the requisite car-chase scenes!
IC: Vulcan tapped a button on what looked like his car's radio. Lasers lanced out from behind the headlights, setting off the mine. Vulcan soared through the smoke, ignoring the blackened patches on the walls beside him (or should I say above and below him...?)
OOC: Don't forget, Vulcan is far from inexperienced with explosives... though I guess Harris doesn't know that, yet.
The Imperial Navy
10-02-2004, 13:10
"You can try" said Harris, throwing back the gun.
"But it looks like he's souped up his car, so he'll have bullet proof armour."
He veered down another street.
"We'll have to shake him the old fashined way."
Harris tapped several buttons, and blew the wall in front of him apart. he shot through the gap...
"Goddam it Harris, think of somthing..."
Khar Vadis
10-02-2004, 13:15
Vulcan pursued....
I need to stop them somehow... detroying them won't answer any questions. But how?
Mélodie leaned out through the passenger window, and tried for an aim. There were only two shots left in the gun, but she had spare bullets in her pocket. She fired, her shot leaving an impact on the front window of the pursuing car but causing no other damage. At this rate, she would never get through. She considered aiming for the wheels, but it was an impossible shot.
Biting her lip, she slipped back into her seat.
“You’re right,” she conceded. “But it was worth a try.”
The Imperial Navy
10-02-2004, 13:43
Harris kept on avoiding the pursuer. unless he thought of somthing, this would never end.
He tried a gamble. he swung his car around and drove full speed at the pursuer. If he failed, both cars would explode. if it worked, the pursuer would veer off and crash. He bagan firing the plasma cannons as he charged in a deadly game of chicken...
Mélodie’s eyes opened wide with horror.
“What are you doing?!” she shouted, bracing herself. “Harris, you’re insane!”
She could see their pursuer now, read the look on his face. If he was anywhere as near crazy as Harris, they were all about to go out in a ball of flames. . .
Khar Vadis
10-02-2004, 13:55
OOC: We're going to need a direct confrontation sometime, unless you want Vulcan to raid your base. I can do that if you post a description of it, but Vulcan needs to get some more information somehow.
IC: Vulcan stared in amazement as the other car reversed direction, heading straight for him. His hand hovered on the steering wheel...
OOC: I have two ways out of this, depending on you want Vulcan to go after Lotus in your base, next, or keep chasing you.
The Imperial Navy
10-02-2004, 14:01
OOC: I say we both eject from our cars (I have one), and we have a showdown on the ground.
Khar Vadis
10-02-2004, 14:06
He isn't going to turn!
At the last instant, Vulcan swerved to the right and pressed his eject button. His car slammed into the wall of the narrow alley; an explosion rocked the street. Vulcan landed hard, but immediately rolled to his feet. His back was against a wall, and he held his stunner in his right hand.
The Imperial Navy
10-02-2004, 14:11
Harris pressed a button, and the front passenger seats were rocketed to safety as the car exploded...
Mélodie landed on the roof of a four-storey building, the air knocked out of her lungs. She looked around quickly. Harris, she noted with relief, had also safely ejected.
Of all the crazy stunts. . .
She looked down into the street below. Through the smoke and the flames, she tried to make out whether their attacker was still alive. . .
Khar Vadis
10-02-2004, 14:22
Vulcan stood perfectly still, moving only his eyes, as he tried to see the two he had been chasing through the residue of the double explosion.
The Imperial Navy
10-02-2004, 14:45
"Wait here" Said Harris, as he used his hidden wire within his watch to absail down the building. as he went down, he drew his blaster...
Double-X sighed and shook her head. Either the man really was insane, or he had a death wish. She considered following him, then decided she would be of more use on the roof. If their attacker moved, she might just be able to spot him first and react before he could harm Harris.
She lay on her stomach, watching, her gun ready to fire.
The Imperial Navy
10-02-2004, 15:25
Harris reached the bottom. It was covered in ashes and coated in a dense black smoke. as flames from the hovercars drifted gently, Harris carefully patroled the parimeter, looking for his quarray.

"You seem to want me alive."

11-02-2004, 10:31
"Yes. If you hadn't interrupted me, the one I was watching at that ball wouldn't have escaped. I figure you owe me some information. You also owe me a new car, but we can worry about that later...."
The Imperial Navy
11-02-2004, 10:41
"Seeing as you'll probably kill me once i've told you, why should I tell you anything?"
Whilst trying to stall the limpy man, Harris formed a plan in his head...
Khar Vadis
11-02-2004, 11:04
"I don't kill those who help me. Not unless I have to, at least.... On the other hand, you're no use to me if you refuse. It's your choice; either way, I have a reputation to consider."
The Imperial Navy
11-02-2004, 11:12
"Really, you should be more careful."
Harris put his hands together and twitched his watch. The Limpy mans gun flew out of his hands and hit the watch.
Harris turned with his blaster.
"Now maybe you can give me some information. who are you?"
Khar Vadis
11-02-2004, 11:36
OOC: At that distance? Ah well, gotta use the gadgets... :D
IC: Vulcan laughed.
"I could kill you without even moving; all you've done is make it harder to take you alive. However, you can't answer many questions if you're dead... so I propose a deal: we trade questions and answers. A question can be vetoed, but an answer must be given before we switch turns. What do you say?"
The Imperial Navy
11-02-2004, 11:54
Harris was stunned that this man was so cool under the collar.
"Very well. I'll go first. Who are you?"
Khar Vadis
11-02-2004, 12:04
"I am called Vulcan, usually. What is your interest in the man I was watching?"
The Imperial Navy
11-02-2004, 12:21
"I am called Vulcan, usually. What is your interest in the man I was watching?"
Harris knew he couldn't give away government secrets, so he tried to lie.
"we believe he's involved in Drazon smuggling"
(Drazon is an illegal drug within the Imperial Navy.)
"who do you work for?"
Mélodie watched tensely as the two men below began to talk. She was beginning to make out a human form through the smoke, and had her gun aimed at it. If he made the slightest threatening move towards Harris, she would fire.
In the meantime, she just had to trust in the cunning of her new ally. . .
Khar Vadis
11-02-2004, 12:28
Something about the man's voice didn't sound quite right, but Vulcan had no proof that he was lying. The smoke had cleared enough that he could see Harris now; he looked him straight in the eye.
"Smuggling, is is? Possible, I suppose.... Perhaps we have no cause for enmity. My employer did not give her name, but- that one- has something that belongs to her. What do you know about him?"
The Imperial Navy
11-02-2004, 12:35
"Very little. He was injured before I could intercept him."
"Why are you working for this person? If it's money, we can double what they're paying you."
Mélodie frowned, and bit her lip. Could Vulcan be referring to. . . the disk? She could feel its bulk in her pocket. If that was it, she had to make sure he didn’t retrieve it.
But it also meant she might be able to learn what it was, and why they wanted it. Suddenly, she regretted not having told Harris about it. He might have been able to press Vulcan for more information.
Khar Vadis
11-02-2004, 12:45
"Yes, money. However, I never go back on a job once I've accepted it. As I said, I have a reputation to think about. However, we might be able to work together... our interests in him don't seem to conflict.
"Where did you see him last?"
The Imperial Navy
11-02-2004, 12:49
"Uncouncious and being taken to hospital." Harris said, taking a flask of alchahol from his pocket. Taking a swig, he proceeded.
"what do you kow about these virus roumors?"
Khar Vadis
11-02-2004, 12:54
Vulcan shrugged. "I know nothing of any virus rumors. What hospital?"
The Imperial Navy
11-02-2004, 12:58
"You should know" said Harris, looking at him with a grin.
"I knew you followed me from my hotel. I've also been watching you follow me everywhere."
"I have all i'd like to know from you-where do we go from here?"
Khar Vadis
11-02-2004, 13:01
"That is a very good question indeed. It depends on your plans... are you willing to help me get what I came for, or do you plan to try to stop me?"
Double-X licked her dry lips. She could think of no way to question Vulcan without revealing that she knew too much. But if Harris decided to work with him, there was a chance she could learn more later. Still, for now, she kept a steady aim on the man’s chest.
The Imperial Navy
11-02-2004, 13:15
"Get me close to your employer, and i'll help you get what your after."
Khar Vadis
11-02-2004, 13:38
Vulcan paused for a moment to think about it (and curse the evil server gremlins), then nodded. "Agreed. Help me get what was stolen, and you can be waiting in hiding when I give it to her." He grinned... "She didn't hire me as a bodyguard, so I feel no need to assist her in that matter...."
The Imperial Navy
11-02-2004, 13:43
"Okay. Give me a day to get what your after-we'll meet here again tommorrow at 6 exactly."
Mélodie waited until Vulcan was out of sight, then made her way down off the roof. Her face was grim.
“Congratulations; Harris. We seem to be getting somewhere.” She bit her lip again. “I’d still like to see Lotus. And after that, I do believe you’ll be very interested in what I have to show you.”
Khar Vadis
11-02-2004, 13:55
Vulcan went back to his hotel room to check his messages....
After that, he would need to "acquire" a new car.
The Imperial Navy
11-02-2004, 14:04
Harris caught Them a taxi.
"Well, what have you got then?" Harris said, drinking from his flask once more.
Double-X shook her head, and smiled.
“Oh, no, Mr. Harris. I said after you bring me to Lotus.” She paused. “I have to say, though, good work. With a bit of luck, by tomorrow we’ll be able to question a very important suspect.” She turned her attention back to the road in front of them. She still didn’t entirely trust him not to double-cross her at some point. She would have to remain alert.
The Imperial Navy
11-02-2004, 14:34
The taxi arrived back at the hotel.
"I've booked a room opposite for you. and order whatever room service you wish, it's all covered by my government. I'll take you to Lotus in the morning."
Harris went into his room, and sat down with a martini.
Mélodie smiled at him sweetly.
“Why, thank you! That’s very generous.” She looked at him, her smile still lingering on her lips. “Enjoy your evening, then, Mr. Harris. I’ll see you in the morning.”
Then she entered her room, and sat down to think. The situation had certainly become complex. She slipped the disk out of her pocket and looked it over for a moment. This was the key. With this they would obtain many answers. She realised suddenly, with some surprise, that, after she had seen Lotus, she wouldn’t really need Harris any more. She could meet with Vulcan herself.
She considered it, and sighed.
No, for as long as I feel I can trust him, I won’t betray him.
Mélodie sat alone in her room for a while, her mind drifting over various topics, then she picked up a book and read a few pages. Finally, she shook her head, stood, left her room and walked over to knock on Harris’ door.
“It’s me,” she told him, in case he was standing by to greet some assassin with a hail of bullets.
When the door opened, she said casually,
“I’m going down to have dinner. Care to come with me? And we can discuss the Vulcan situation.”
The Imperial Navy
12-02-2004, 12:26
"Of course." harris said, adusting his Tuxedo.
“Good,” Mélodie said. “I believe there’s a restaurant on the ground level. We could try some local specialities.” She held out her arm for him. “Escort me there, gallant sir? After all, we are supposed to be respectable. Well, I am. I’m an investor, by the way. A fabulously wealthy West Ariddian investor.” She winked, and they began to walk. “So tell me, how are you. . . we going to conduct this deal with Vulcan?”
The Imperial Navy
12-02-2004, 16:12
They found a table in the resturant.
"Simple. we find out what he actually wants from Lotus, then give it to him. when he gives it to his employer, we take the employer down. It's risky, but it's a risk we have to take."
The waiter came up to the table.
"Yes, I'll have the Imperium chatau 2377. one of the best years. how did they get Imperial Navy wine?"
he turned to Mélodie.
"What will you be having dear?"
“The same, please,” she told the waiter with a smile. He bowed slightly, and departed. Mélodie turned to Harris. “Ariddian wine is nowhere near as good as Imperial Navy wine,” she explained. “We need to take this employer alive, you realise that don’t you? It’ll be somewhat more complicated than putting a bullet in her head. We have to find out how far along the track this virus project has got. Unless you already know that?”

"Yes, i'll have a prime Bantha steak."
“I’ll have. . .” Melodie paused. “Mixed vegetable bake, please.”

Melodie nodded.
"Of course. I can play the part. This should prove most interesting. There is the problem of our friend Vulcan, however. We don't know how much he may know about us."
The conversation drifted for a while to lighter topics, until their meals were set before them. Melodie lifted her glass, then took a sip and smiled.
"I'll say one thing for your nation. You know how to make good wine. Now... what are you planning on asking Lotus, tomorrow?"

Breed walked through the doors to the old apartment, passing two guards and then finaly walking up to Nikita.
"He's here because of you.. no doubt about it. he was also sighted at the ball. There is no doubt.. also, I bumped into his neighbour. and she attached this"
He pulled up the tracking device from his pocket and threw it on the table infront of Nikita.
"Hopefully they will arrive anytime soon"
Nikita nodded, "well, we should get out of here. No need to be here when the whole thing blows up, any news from Vulcan?"
Breed shook his head and the two of them walked out of the apartment, and the building. Followed by the two guards.
Speeding away into the air the building exploded.
"You know Breed, we should pay our little friend Vulcan a visist. it is strange that we have heard no word from him. And no sign of the disc. Were did Lotus go after the ball?"
Breed shook his head, "that I have no information of"
She nodded, "driver. back to HQ. It is time that we take up this hunt of Lotus ourselves"

After a pleasent dinner and music, Harris retired to bed for the night. in the morning, the real test would begin...
Mélodie yawned, stretched and sat up in bed. She was always mildly surprised to find herself alive in the morning, especially on a mission. After taking a shower and getting dressed, she checked on the listening device she had attached to Harris' visitor. It was no longer broadcasting.
With a sigh, she left her room and went over to knock on Harris' door.
"Slept well?" she greeted him as he opened the door. "I'm going to get breakfast and then I'll be ready to go. Today should be a very interesting day," she added with a grin.
The Imperial Navy
25-02-2004, 11:16
"Yes. After breakfast, we'll warm up the new car, then we'll go visit Lotus."
"New car?" she asked, then shook her head. "Out of curiosity, how many cars do you get through in the line of duty? Never mind; I'll be waiting for you downstairs."
The Imperial Navy
25-02-2004, 13:47
Harris went downstairs and got in the car.
"Hmm... new model. Don't worry, this journey won't be long."
The car sped off, to meet the mysterious Lotus...
Mélodie leaned back in the passenger seat, glad they weren't being pursued and fired at this time.
"What have your people been doing to Lotus, if you don't mind my asking?" she inquired, looking out of the window as buildings flashed past. "And what will you be asking him?"
She glanced just briefly at the handsome spy she had found herself working with, and waited to see what he had in mind.
The Imperial Navy
01-03-2004, 09:52
"Steady on. We don't even know if he's awake yet. besides, we treat our captors well."
The car pulled up next to an old garage.
"ah, we're here. come on"
Melodie nodded and stepped out of the car. She was naturally on alert. Her instinct told her to trust Harris, but her training told her to exercise elementary caution. She didn't know what she would find inside the building.
"After you," she said, and followed him in.
The Imperial Navy
01-03-2004, 14:25
Lotus was sitting in a chair, under armed guard.
"Ah, 005. and this is...?"
"Melodie, meet Y. he's head of security in the Imperial secret service."
"Lotus spoke 005. said somthing about a disk and information on it-says it was stolen."
"That must be what Vulcan wants me to give him. Melodie, you know anything about this?"
"Pleased to meet you, Y," Melodie said politely. "Yes, I've. . . heard about the disk," she added, and looked round at each of them in turn. "What is it, exactly? What does it contain?"
The Imperial Navy
01-03-2004, 14:48
"He didn't say. He knows nothing about the contents of the disk, except that the disks... buyer did not want it to fall into the hands of a guy named... Vulcan. It appears that both a corporation and some other hidden evil are fighting for control of this virus... and we're smack down in the middle of it."
"The Virgon corporation?" Harris asked without pausing.
"That's it... he said he worked for them... how did you know?"
"I bumped into a few of their cronies at the spaceport."
Harris turned to Melodie.
"We have to hurry and find out where that disk is. If we don't find it, we'll never get to meet Vulcans employer."
Melodie gave a slow smile. She was committed now, and somehow she just didn't believe Harris was going to turn against her in any way. Her instincts had kept her alive this long, after all; she trusted them. And him.
"You have only to ask, 005," she said with a grin, and produced the disk with a flourish from her pocket. "Now let's make very sure it stays in the right hands. . ."
The Imperial Navy
01-03-2004, 15:04
Analysing the disk, Y's face lit up.
"Good news. although the disk was heavily encrypted, we managed to break the code using a baisic subroutine. The disk contains information on how to make the virus, as well as the vaccine. Here."
Y handed them the disk back.
"All information has been removed and downloaded onto our system. we have not only replaced the virus data with false information, but inserted a tracer chip into the disk. Not only has the virus been stopped, but at the same time we can now capture the villans responsible. Go to that meeting tonigh 005, and give them the false disk. then tail them back to their hideout. we will produce the vaccine, just in case they have some of the virus."
"Thank you Y. Ah, saving the world is so ordinary nowadays. Melodie, ready to kick butt?"
A grin lit up her face.
"Eloquently put." Now that the world was safe from the threat of the virus, and the vaccine would negate any of its effects, it was time to tie up loose threads and stop those who might give it another try. "Let's go and kick butt together."

Harris unlocked the car, and held open the passenger door.
"Want to drive?"
OOC: What happened to the guy playing Vulcan? and where's Danneland? :?
Melodie gave him a somewhat surprised look, then slipped into the driver's seat.
"Why, thank you. Just tell me where all the gadgets are." She winked. "Would you trust me to keep us alive in a car chase?"
OOC: What happened to the guy playing Vulcan? and where's Danneland? :?
Good question... Well, it's 1:30am here so I'm going to get some sleep. I'll be back tomorrow...

"Why, thank you. Just tell me where all the gadgets are." She winked. "Would you trust me to keep us alive in a car chase?"
"Why certainly." said Harris with a dashing smile.
"After all, most of the defences on this new car are automated. But here's a small manual to help you out."
Harris handed Melodie a small leaflet detailing the defence systems.

OOC: What happened to the guy playing Vulcan? and where's Danneland? :?
OOC: I'm still here; there just hasn't been much for me to post.
IC: Vulcan watched the two getting into the car from hiding on a rooftop.
So... they've spoken with Lotus. The question is, did they obtain the disc?
I'll find out soon enough....

Harris took a phone out of his pocket. He dialed a number Vulcan had given him.
"We have what you wanted Vulcan, meet us at the rondevouz point."
Harris then hung up.

OOC: I'll post again when Arridia returns. After all she's drivin'. :D
Melodie flicked through the leaflet.
"Hmm. . . I think I can handle it. Please fasten your seatbelt," she told him with a grin, as she started the engine.
The Imperial Navy
02-03-2004, 13:04
On their way, Harris studied the scanner.
"Hmm... looks like you get to test your driving after all. We've got 2 cars from the Virgon corporation after us... obviously they want their disk back. Get us to the point safely!"

Well... let's see what Arridia wants to do first...
Of course. I was just providing the option....
Mélodie glanced quickly over her shoulder.
"Lovely. A driving test." She accelerated sharply, slipping between cars, ignoring them as they honked angrily. "I hope you've got your seatbelt on..."
Their pursuers weren't about to give up the chase this soon. They accelerated in turn.
"I can't use the car's gadgets in a crowded main road," she said. "Hang on." She swerved the car sharply, hearing the tyres screech and feeling her stomach lurch, then sped down a smaller street. The other two cars followed. Pedestrians scrambled out of the way.
"Let's see... Nails. Classic, but deadly to tyres." She pressed a button, and a flow of pieces of small, sharp metal scrap poured out behind the car. Steering with one hand, she poised a finger of the other over the button that would spread a thick puddle of oil in their wake. "Are they still following?"
The Imperial Navy
03-03-2004, 10:34
One of the cars screeched into a wall and exploded.
"We still have 2 on us. Keep going!"
"Tipping oil," Melodie informed him. Behind them, the remaining cars slowed so as not to lose control. Swerving into another, narrower street, a cat leaping out of the way, she flicked a switch, and a small targetting screen lifted before her. Two guns swivelled into position from the sides of the boot.
The lead pursuing car screeched round the bend after them, and she opened fire. The enemy car's front screen shattered; the car crashed, and the lone remaining one manoeuvred quickly past it.
Melodie shook her head. She disliked killing.
"Two down, one to go," she said grimly as she continued firing.
The Imperial Navy
03-03-2004, 13:45
"We're here." said Harris, grinning.
"Just round this corner."
((its one of thoose rps that make u wish u finished reading that tom clancy book))
*walks round the corner of the street keeping an eye out for som1 his head swings left and right several times before he comes to a stop*
"damit where the hell is he"
Mélodie slammed the car sharply round the corner, a stream of bullets in its wake, and brought it to a remarkably smooth halt. Getting out cautiously, she found the surviving enemy car was nowhere to be seen.
"Did I get it, or did it just give up?" She looked over at Harris. "How did you like my driving?"
The Imperial Navy
08-03-2004, 11:30
Harris simply smiled and tossed her a Blaster pistol.
"Keep this with you, in case things turn ugly."
They paced down the alleyway.
Melodie caught the blaster and held it almost hesitantly. She had heard of such high-tech weapons, but had never actually used one.
"Umm... ok."
Watching her surroundings warily, she followed him down the alley. It was then she remembered he still had the disk. Perhaps she should have kept it. She shook her head. Never mind.
The Imperial Navy
08-03-2004, 11:50
Harris cautiously paced down the alleyway. Vulcan was nowhere to be seen.
"Where is he?"
OOC: If Danneland doesn't appear soon, i'll have to take his place as the big bad guy. (Means i'll have to rp his character.)
Khar Vadis
08-03-2004, 12:01
Vulcan's voice echoed in the alley, making it hard to tell what direction it came from.
"I am here. Do you have it?"
The Imperial Navy
08-03-2004, 12:07
"Yeah."
Harris tossed Vulcan the Disk.
"Your employer comming?"
Melodie stayed a few steps back, watching Vulcan steadily. It could be a trap. In fact, she would be surprised if it wasn't. She bit her lip.
My survival instincts don't seem to be working too well... We should have prepared for this better.
Khar Vadis
09-03-2004, 04:59
"The meeting place is planned. You'll have to come with me. For now, step back please..."
OOC: Vulcan still hasn't come out of hiding. He doesn't trust you.
Mélodie exchanged a glance with Harris. At this stage, there was no reason to antagonise Vulcan. She politely took a step back and waited.
The Imperial Navy
09-03-2004, 10:36
Harris aggreed and steped back. He knew that he had to obey Vulcan if he wanted to get away with this plan.

Vulcan emerged from the shadows, blaster in hand. He carefully bent and picked up the disk without taking his eyes off the two spies.
"Follow my car."
He returned to his vehicle, which was parked a bit deeper in the alley, and there examined the disk.

((Ooo! Spy stuff, wonderful! Too bad I didn't see this until now. Do you guys still need any positions filled? I'd like to join if there's an opening.))
OOC: Well, it's TIN's thread, so it's up to him...
IC:
Mélodie frowned. She was beginning to believe there was no trap... at least not at this stage. Vulcan seemed genuinely worried they would trick him.
She looked at Harris, shrugged, and got back into the car, taking the driver's seat.
"Should we ask him who was pursuing us?"
The Imperial Navy
10-03-2004, 10:33
OOC: the position of Evil Corporation owner is still open...
IC: Harris turned. "No. I think he's spooked. looks like the same people may be after him too. I don't even think he trusts his own employer. Keep quiet for now-we just follow him, and learn who his employer is."
Harris faced forward once more, he was clearly contemplating a plan...
"Sounds good to me," Melodie agreed. She waited until Vulcan started his car, then followed, matching his speed. "Keep your eyes open. . ."
The Imperial Navy
10-03-2004, 13:23
Harris didn't trust Vulcan, and Vulcan didn't trust him.
"If Vulcan turns nasty, don't hesitate to kill him."
Cyberutopia

((Alright, I'll be the big bad man then. Can I have a quick summary?))
Melodie kept her eyes on the front screen, and hoped her reluctance didn't show.
"I'll do my job," she said quietly. "If I have to kill him, then I'll kill him. . ."
The Imperial Navy
13-03-2004, 15:24
OOC: you'll have to read if you want in, i'm afraid. it'd take too long to describe to you.
IC: Harris noticed they'd been driving a while.
"where the heck is Vulcan taking us?"
"We're entering an industrial area," Melodie noticed. "It's hardly residential any more. Few people around. Closed in but deserted; it's a great place for an ambush."
The Imperial Navy
15-03-2004, 10:43
"Indeed. Keep your guard. We may be attacked fast. until then, continue to follow Vulcan."
"Exactly what I intended... boss." She kept her eyes on the car ahead. She wished she knew what was going to happen within the coming minutes.
The Imperial Navy
15-03-2004, 13:28
OOC: hmm... all we can do now is await Vulcan to join in again...
OOC: True. . . We can only post so much about driving around. . . :D
Khar Vadis
16-03-2004, 12:24
OOC: Sorry... I've been kind of busy.
IC: Vulcan pulled into an alley near a small, abandoned factory, and lowered his window.
The Imperial Navy
16-03-2004, 12:26
Harris saw Vulcan pull over.
"There-Pull up next to him."
Melodie nodded. She brought the car to a stop beside Vulcan's, and lowered her window in turn.
"Where to now?" she asked the man casually.
Khar Vadis
16-03-2004, 12:49
"We have to wait for a while; I need to confirm the meeting. I thought you would want to hear my side of the call, so you knew you weren't walking into a trap..."
The Imperial Navy
16-03-2004, 12:50
Harris was ready... in case things turned sour...
"That won't confirm to us it's not a trap," Mélodie said with a slight smile. "But all right, we'll wait. And listen..."
