From XNN:
"Power to the Xanthalian race! Destroy the genetic leftovers!"
Such harsh words are rarely heard in Xanthal, yet a faction hitherto quiet is now demanding that its views be represented in the Xanthalian government. Their group is known as the Xanthalian Superiority Movement, and their views are eerily smilar to those of the ancient Nazis. The group claims a membership of seven thousand Xanthalians, all who call for the banishment or execution of what they consider to be inferior races within Xanthal. Rallies in New Krytan have been contained by Xanthalian police, and counter-demonstrations have been temporarily forbidden in an effort to prevent violence from erupting in the streets. Ministry directors are currently in conference with the Dictator to discuss the demands of te XSM. Despite orders not to protest the XSM rallies, hundreds of citizens, both Xanthalian and other races, have gathered outside government headquarters in a show of racial diversity toting signs and holding hands. Xanthalian police have ordered them to disperse, but have taken no further action. The apparent leader of the hastily-gathered counter-demonstrators spoke to reporters. "We must stand tall against this minority of hatred! We cannot allow our society, based on diversity and acceptance, to fall to the XSM!"
Government officials tend to agree. "I'm all for political freedom, but the XSM is making minority groups afriad to leave their homes by doing this. That cannot be allowed to happen. I intend to do all in my power to see that they are shut up or disbanded completely." said Joanna Lynn, the Minister of Social Affiars, as she entered conference with the board of Ministers and the Dictator only minutes ago.
Mimiru, who is nearing retirement, gave a similar but more tempered opinion. "In my opinion, the Xanthalian Superiority Movement is a plague to our great society. I cannot ignore their right to express their political beliefs, but I will do all in my power to protect the safety and integrity of our minorities. No mater what I decide, I will not allow the XSM to continue threatening non-Xanthalians.
The Xanthalian Superiority Movement is fighting a losing battle, but it is just one more example of the political unrest that has been growing in Xanthal since the fall of the Empire three centuries ago.
"People are speaking out again. What we are experiencing is a natural part of that free speech. There will be debates, there will be revolutions. So it is with all free nations." said Nathan Sabre, retired Fleet Admiral of the Xanthalian Armada.
It remains to be seen if the Xanthalian government can continue to balance free speech and protection of all citizens effectively, but if dedication is the key, then the Xanthalian government is on the winning side. This is the Xanthalian News Network. We'll be right back.
