Weapons Test. (Closed RP)
The international community and press is cordially invited to witness the mobilization of the Xanthalian Armada's Apocalypse class vessel and the subsequent destruction of the Talmaraan system. The Talmaraan system used to be composed of fifteen planets, two of which were inhabitable. Today, due to complicated circumstances refrenced elsewhere, the system has eleven planets, only one of which is inhabitable. This planet has been infested with the primitive and destructive space ork race. These partially-sentient beings will be destroyed along with the system. Nations and/or organizations interested in witnessing the event should dispatch any vessels they wish to attend to Starbase 114, just outside of the Aellis system. Keep in mind that Xanthalian law applies to all ships attending, meaning that weapons of non-Xanthalian ships must remain offline at all times and that all ships are subject to the orders of Xanthalian traffic control centers.

Blargistania must condemn the actios of Xanthal. Even semi-sentient life forms must have the right to life. This action is despicable. There is no reason to destroy a star system under any circumstances. We have lodged an official complaint of your actions and would strongly urge all nations to not attend this disgusting show as a form of protest against apocalyptic weapons.

the THS Cristiania, the main transport vessel for dignitaries travelling to other areas of space, slowly decelerates into space by Starbase 114 and requests instructions
BLARGistania: An official complaint, eh? Well, that is your choice. Normally we would agree with you, but the space orks are little better than Demons. They just happen to be weaker. The fewer of them there are, the better.
The Holy Saints: "This is Starbase 114. What is your purpose here?"

The two teens were siting in their basement suite, wreathed by a thick layer of acrid smoke. The TV was on, though they wern't really listening to it, or the stero that hummed quitely in the background.
"Whoa, dude, I like, felt a distrubence in the Force."
"Seriously man, stop watching stupid Star Wars all day."
"No way man, it's like, the voices of a million people crying out to me..."
"Ok, no more for you."
"Hey! I paid for that, give it back!"
"Fine. Here."
"Anyway, yeah, it's like some people, like, died, and I could hear them."
"Ok, then what should we do?"
"We should like, totally go bust up the Death Star."
"Riiiiight."
"Seriously! I've heard that aliens keep it near Uranus."
"You know that's not funny eh?"
"What?"
"Uranus."
"Oh. Well, yeah, that's what I heard."
"Seriously, stop smoking that stuff and watching Star Wars. It screws you up."
"Totally."
The Holy Saints: "Acknowledged. Please hold position until all attending ships have had a chance to arrive."

Confirmed,Cristiania waiting for further instructions.
The Cavish Battlecruiser Midnight decelerated outside of the system, at the coordinates of Starbase 114.
General Richard Pointer, CINC of the Imperial Space Agency, was onboard the Midnight to witness the mighty power of Xanthal's system destroyer.
"Mr. Hardy, Power down all weapons systems. Contact the starbase and let them know of our arrival."
Cav: "Welcome to Xanthal. Please hold position. You will be directed further shortly."
"Roger that. We await your further command."
A Rhinaran sensor ship came out of hyperspace and flew toward Starbase 114 at sublight speeds.
Rhinara: "Please state your purpose in Xanthalian space."
While the Rhinaran vessel did not identify itself, its weapons systems were offline. In response to the query, an audio message stated:
"We wish to witness your weapons testing on the Talmaraan System."
Rhinara: "Acknowledged."
All: "Please proceed within the system to sector nine one nine. The Apocalypse class will launch shortly."
"Lieutenant, set a course for sector 9-1-9 in the system. Turn on the main viewer." General Pointer was hoping for a good fireworks display.
"Yes sir."
The Armada's Apocalypse class vessel is gigantic, the size of a small planet. It launches without a hitch, moving out of the system at its maximum sublight speed. It is escorted by a dozen Sabre class vessels for protection.
Apocalypse class (target devastator): $50,000,000,000,000
The Apocalypse class is the biggest and most powerful ship made by Xanthal. It offers only minimal standard weaponry but has massive single-shot firepower. It’s Infidimensional Transmatter cannon can cut through any shields or armor to destroy it’s target, but can only fire once an hour.

Sabre class (light tactical): $100,000,000,000
The Sabre class is designed to pack a strong punch in a small package. The Sabre class has only a few torpedo tubes due to space constraints; but it has many phaser and disrupter banks. Its shields are of mediocre quality, so the Sabre class cannot withstand a sustained assault. It uses great speed and maneuverability coupled with its small size to dodge attacks while firing its powerful weapons. An unimpressive warship on its own, the Sabre class can do enormous damage when in fleets.

"Mother of...." General Pointer was amazed at what the viewscreen had showed him. An entire planet was just rendered uninhabitable right before his eyes. A whole planet.
The demonstration was awe-inspiring and a little bit scary. Pointer's mind started racing. If this technology ever got into the hands of the wrong people... But Xanthal wouldn't let that happen. Look at their escorts. They're truly a formidable force. But are they too formidable?
Explorer Class Space Probe, USSNR Peoples Socialist Aeronautics Command, Secret Classified
The Space Probe Explorer looked mostly like the Voyager 1 and 2 space probes of the 1970-80's, yet there were big differences. Classified as they were to the International Community, within Nodea Rudav it was free information, and the People kept the secret of a Space Program just that, Secret. No one inside the USSNR wanted anyone to know that they had the capability to launch space probes, or shuttles for that matter, and the only reason the Space Probe Explorer was launched was for the gatherment of information for peaceful purposes.
However, if this operation was classified to the International Community, there must be a Ultra-Classified part of the Space Probe, which seemed true. It had the capability to send and recieve transmission via a Microwave Laser Pulse directed to satellite dishes, huge dishes, in the Milutary Instillations of Nodea Rudav. The Explorer was also given the capability to "think" almost like a sentient being, Derived from the ED-200 class Enforcement Droid, it was redone to interpret a learning computer, obeying and observing, yet able to suggest ways of operation.
All that aside, the only reason the Space Probe Explorer was here was to test an experimental Sub-Space drive that fit nicely inside its containments. It worked successfully, but needed to cool. So, in the mean time, it wanted to watch what events were going on, and seemed to see lots of things.
Before long, it decided that seeing such things would mean it should transmit these important images back to its leaders, knowing its father would be proud. Yet, it knew pride was not part of Nodea Rudav society, and knew that its father was happy with its success. Continuesly in contact, it knew the People, the People it sent information for whom watched with awe new images of nebule and planets, would be terrified of this chain of events.
Yet, for one millisecond, it thought the destruction of a planet was an illogical action, instantly agreeing with the conclusion and sending the images back to its leaders and assitants. For the only reason of humility, it used its unlimited supply of jets, which derived the jet stream from heated moisture and gas from its purpolsion drive and any other component that generated heat, to look away at the stupidity of Normal Man, which it knew its father, leaders, and assistance, including the People, were not, for the simple fact alone that they did not do illogical actions without thinking most of the time. It forgave the rare, if not usual, occurences of forgeting, for it mostly, and entirely, did not turn into violence.
This did, and, intern, it thought it illogical. Hence once the small Sub-Space Drive cooled, it dissappeared to return to Sol, home of the planet Earth, where its Modern-Tech Society watched one of its Experimental Futuristic Ideas turn into a wonderful success.
OOC: I haven't destroyed anything yet. Please pay attention.
IC: The Apocalypse class ship exits the system and transmits a message to the Midnight.
"Close to one kilometer and fall in behind us. We're going to use a transdimensional gateway to reach our target."
(OOC: I figured that you had broadcast the test firing because you had the pic up.)
IC: "Roger that. Coming up behind you."
Pointer, still in shock from the demo he just witnessed, was itching to see the real thing in action.
A lieutenant sat in the command chair, hands on the armrest as the viewscreen showed their approach to the given coordinates. Other vessels were there already, and the Xanthalian craft was beginning to move off.
"Follow the other observers," the lieutenant said.
"Aye, sir," a voice came back from the helm.
The Rhinaran ship slipped in with the other vessels and followed after the planet destroyer, being sure to stay at a good distance away.
The Apocalypse class vessel opens a gateway and passes through, the vessels behind it drawn in in its wake. A fraction of a second later, the group is just outside the Talmaraan system. An announcement from the Apocalypse is made on an open channel. "Nova bomb is now being prepared for launch, target: Talmaraan star. All ships are instructed to proceed within the shield radius of this vessel for protection from the skockwave and radiation that will be generated by the nova. Repeat, this ship has specially designed shields to protect it from the aftermath of a nova. All ships wishing to exist after the event must be within our shield radius."
The Rhinaran vessel does as told, moving into the protective shielding of the giant Xanthal ship. All sorts of scanning devices are activated, from intensive scans of the target to general scans of everything in the vicinity, including the other ships present.
The launch of the nova bomb is decidedly unspectacular, a missile slightly larger than a standard ship-to-ship torpedo leaves the Apocalypse class ship and speeds at near-light speed towards the Talmaraan star. The Xanthalian ship activates its specially-designed type-Z shields and waits. A countdown is broadcast for the benefit of the attending ships. It begins at 17:34. 17:33... 17:32... 17:31...
"Take us to within the shield radius of the Xanthalian ship so we can watch this demonstration."
"But sir, they've already raised their shields!"
"Send them a message and ask them to lower their shields and allow us in."
Xanthalian ship,
Please lower your shields and allow us harbor during this test.
General Pointer
Cav: You're already there. You moved in close enough before.
The countdown progresses steadily. 9:01... 9:00... 8:59...
The crew waited patiently as the countdown continued. Soon they'd see the awesome power of the Xanthal fleet.
OOC: Go awesomeness!
IC: The seconds tick by until finally the count reaches zero. The Apocalypse broadcasts another message. "We have impact and detonation. Radiation levels are climbing within expected perameters."
No visible signs of any kind of explosion exist yet, as the light from the explosion has not yet reached the three ships (which are five light minutes out from the star). Initial signs of the catastrophic explosion can already be seen by ship's sensors though. Climbing radiation levels, massive inter-system gravitational variations, and the mother of all shockwaves headed straight towards them, the outer edge of the nova explosion now racing outward from the star, literally dissolving the planets in its path.
The crew watched on the viewscreen in a complete state of awe. The picture was split-- half sensor readouts and half the picture of the star. There were no visible changes yet, but they'd been told by the Xanthal ships that their present location was about 5 light minutes away. A clock ticked down.
The sensor readouts were going crazy though. A shockwave was about to reach them, and Pointer hoped that the Xanthal shields were strong enough to hold. They wouldn't build a wepaon without some kind of defense against it, he thought. Would they?
The shockwave hits with all the force one would expect from such a massive explosion. The Apocalypse and the ships inside its protective shields are pushed back several hundred kilometers despite their subspace anchor before the wave passes them. Besides the jolt of impact though, there was no damage to any of the three ships. The Apocalypse functioned perfectly, just as it had in its first test 100 years earlier. Finally the T+5 minute mark arrives and the explosion of the star can be visually observed, an event as eerily beautiful as it is destructive. As the light from the explosion fades, radiation levels can be observed slowly returning to normal (though they wouldn't be normal again for almost three hundred years) and the last of the systemic gravitational fields disappear, the planets and star that had created them reduced to dust. The Apocalypse broadcasts a new message.
"Your own shields will be able to protect you now. We're releasing you from within our grid."
The giant ship releases its hold on the two comparitively tiny vessels.
Amazing, completely amazing, Admiral Pointer thought as the ship moved to a distance away from the Xanthalian vessel. "Open a channel to their ship."
"Open, sir," the communications station reported.
"Xanthalian ship, thank you for the chance to see this demonstration. Perhaps we can work out something to make our nations closer."
OOC: Oddly enough, the technology to make a sun blow up is less complex than the technology to make a planet blow up.
IC: "I'm sure the Xanthalian government would like that. Contact them any time. Our work here is done." The Apocalypse disappears from front to back as it passes through a transdimensional gateway back home.
OOC: Well Cav, my thanks to you for keeping this alive to the end. RP over.
