Bernzia, MELDOVIA - Dear Comrades! The newspaper 'Meldovia Times' has been ordered shut down by Comrade President Ryanov Bereria for spreading the lies of the Capitalist pig dogs that used to run our glorius nation. Their lies about Ryanov assuming "dictatorial" powers is simply not true!
All comrades should praise the Comrade President, first among equals, in his leadership of removing the mouthpiece of the capitalist pig dogs that, fortunately, are a very small minority.

Breznia, MELDOVIA - The Meldovian People's Government, led by President Ryanov Bereria, has seized all independent news stations, newspapers, and other media sources within the country. Nothing official has been announced by the government, but it appears that they have taken control over all media outlets.
Three television stations, Channels 8, 9, and 11, the only three independent television stations in the country, went off the air between the times of 2:40 - 3:20 AM local time. Approximately four hours later, the television stations returned to the airwaves, but this time airing the programming from state television station 2.
The four FM radio stations, three AM radio stations, and one shortwave radio station, all broadcasting in and around the capital area also left the air around the same time as the television stations. They returned hours later, relaying programming from different state radio stations.
The office of the Associated Press in the capital was also taken over by security forces and our staff members ordered back to a hotel nearby where they are unable to leave the room, although they may make phone calls as they please and are fed by the security officials.
According to anonymous sources from the capital, neither of the seven independent newspapers or the four magazines appeared on the news shelves anywhere in the capital. Old issues of the magazines and the newspapers have also been confiscated by the security forces.
This comes just a day after the 'Meldovian Times' daily newspaper was closed down by the government for spreading 'Capitalist propaganda'.

Breznia, MELDOVIA - According to state television and newspapers, the President of the Socialist Republic of Meldovia has declared a state of emergency due to "capitalist elements that are attempting to destroy the Worker's state" and "former Fascists of the old guard trying to steal power back from the people of Meldovia."
This state of emergency declaration was followed by several army units entering the capital city and provinicial cities all around the country. According to several anonymous contacts, the two northern mountainous provinces have seen heavy fighting in the last twenty four hours.
According to several reports, members of the old Imperial Fascist Guard had fled to the mountains just before the old fascist government was overthrown. Now, apparently, they have seized the two main cities in the mountains and several villages.
The television and radio station serving these two mountainous provinces have not been monitored by either AP members or the BBC's 'Monitoring' division.
Apparently we are also the only independent news station allowed to travel the country, although we have a 'minder' from the Ministry of Information.

Breznia, MELDOVIA - We can definately confirm that there is a major insurgency going on against the Socialist government today.
Several members from the BBC staff office in the capital were heading out to a meeting with a government representative. We had been assigned a military unit to defend us. As we were driving to the meeting location in our two-car convoy, a demonstration by the fascists occured.
As we turned north on Ryanov Street, a tank and several armored cars of the army were driving toward us. Suddenly, from the rooftops and windows of the buildings lining the street opened up in gunfire.
RPG rounds, AK-47 rounds and several anti-tank missiles were fired. In the end, the military convoy was totally wiped out. The three-man unit protecting us fired on the attackers, but we did not draw any fire from the attackers. As soon as the military convoy was destroyed, the fire stopped and the attackers fled.
I caught a glance at one of the fleeing attackers. He was wearing the typical black and red uniform of the Imperial Fascist Guard of the old government.
The country has apparently erupted into chaos. Civilians are fleeing the main urban areas of the city and are moving into the countryside and small villages so that they are not affected by the fighting.
We have heard no word from the government. State media continues to deny that there is anything more than a few criminals lose that are armed with light weaponry such as assault rifles.
We are willing to send 10 000-strong volunteer force from Worker's Army of UBootistan
