While still far from being equipped in the fashion of a more modern force, the Nuevo Kowloon Military has taken some of the lessons of the Elvindom/Aust War to heart- their Logistical tail is equipped with considerably more modern systems than their front-line combat units, including systems like the American-made HMMTT heavy truck, large numbers of fuel-tankers for a relatively small number of combat vehicles, improved M-88 Recovery vehicles, and a standardization to diesel-powered vehicles for all ground units.
The choice of the .30-06 cartridge in this era of ever smaller rounds with lighter kick, reflects the Neuvo Kowloonese Militia system, rather than any sort of tactical doctrine. The .30-06 is just as effective on Tigers and Bears, as it is on men. This, according to the local logic, makes it a more useful "General" cartridge than the 7.62 or 5.56mm Nato round-neither of which can be loaded with bullets heavier than 200 grains in weight.
Considering the majority-rural nature of the Nation, and the requirement that all citizens maintain their issue firearms at home when not on active duty, means that the military had to accept a compromise, and since the bulk of ammunition loaded at the National Arsenal in Hue was already .30-06, that was the round selected for general usage.

The Board of Armaments purchased several "Used" vehicle systems, and found that the local personnel were most comfortable working on equipment built to American standard, rather than Metric standard.
The M-24 Chaffee, and the M-48 (both considered long obselete in most other nations-even of comparable size) were selected for upgrade, and the upgrade package design was based on Israeli work with the M-4 Sherman, and M-60 Patton series tanks.
Some alterations were necessary to accept ASE standard bolts and to alter the machine-drawings for some components to ASE and AWS standard measurements (necessary as most Machine-tooling in the country is not compatible with Metric measures).
Programmes for the fire-on the move systems were re-written to inch/feet/miles.

Maps of the nation are Aviation standard 1:50,000 scale marked in Miles, and feet.

NBC detectors have been purchased from TharHes, and are the most advanced hardware in Neuvo-Kowloonese possession...right behind the personal protective gear (supplied by a certain ally after the war...)

The Medical Battalions include mobile-medical systems that, on average, cost more than a battalion of heavy tanks each.

Over the last three years, the nation has spent 80% of its military budget for acquisitions on improving non-combat systems such as transport, logistics, and Medical care. Attendant training has seen a net increase that may be felt at some point in the Civilian area, as newly-minted Doctors, Engineers, and Mechanics complete their mandatory Active-service terms and enter the workforce in three years time.
