Background
The United Kingdom of Isselmere-Nieland (UKIN) arose from an assortment of petty kingdoms cobbled together over 600 years. Lurking on the outskirts of Europe, the UKIN developed mostly unhindered by much of mainland Europe's troubles, though it was similarly struck by the Black Death and religious strife. The UKIN participated, insofar as it was able, in the First and Second World Wars on the side of the Allies, as well as the Korean War, with its contingent considered part of British Commonwealth forces. Since 1954, the UKIN has remained peaceful.
The UKIN’s main trading partners are Jimnam and Sarzonia. The UKIN, through the Royal Shipyards of Isselmere-Nieland, operates shipyards in several nations, most notably with Jimnam, Kay-Son, Illior, Ottoman Khaif, and Juumanistra. The UKIN considers Jimnam and the Incorporated States of Sarzonia and as its closest allies.
