Enodisch-English Phrasebook

The following is taken from Lonely Planet's guide to Enodia
Enodisch is a Germanic language and tends to be very easy to understand to tourists with knowledge of German. While Hochdeutsch (the German you learn in school) is widely understood, most Enodians use the local language for all barring the most formal occasions.
English, too, is widely understood and spoken, with many Enodians learning it as a second or third language. Only in the most off-the-beaten-track destinations will you find nobody who speaks at least some English.
That said, the famed Enodian friendliness is more readily extended to the traveller who at least makes an effort to stumble through a few words of Enodisch, even in a big city like Traunstein or Kohlstadt.
As a rule, follow German pronunciation unless otherwise specified. Umlauts tend not to be used in Enodisch, so "ae", "oe" and "ue" are pronounced as if the vowel has an umlaut.

Hmm, Enodisch must be a 'close relative' of German. Did it develop from German?
