There is primative plant life on these Islands but no animal life more advanced than insects living on these, also with the exception of Islands near the equator the majority of these Islands are covered with Glaciers for the majority of the moons year. The surface temperature rarly exceeds 10 C except at the equator where it reaches 20 C in summer.
Underwater is a different story, there is plenty of aquatic plant & animal life and underwater volcanos keep the water temperature up and provide warm currents across the moon. Around these active volcanoes are high deposits of minerals like gold, silver, iron and colbat among other things. Although these areas are highly unstable as the result of the constant earthquake caused by the volcanoes.
