((OOC: I talked to Remmonlands already about the regional situation, so I had seen the map and knew what to expect as far as early war intervention, but the more the merrier right? Also, my post was set in the night time, so I'm going to assume that this was the next morning. Will post something IC as soon as Remmon is able to, further OOC comments should be dirrected at This thread.))

Right. Just wanted to make sure no hard feelings arise is all. So, since you mentioned "ocean route" and judging by the map you would be passing uncomforably close to Vrak's northern coast, you should expect some resistance (such as possibly running into a fleet conducting exercises - not too unreasonable since we are at a heightened state of alert since Drakonia).

Mind you, you're coming at night so it may not be that heavy. But at least you will be tracked and some planes will be sent to investigate. How many gunships (here you mean helicopters, correct?) did you send? Did you send hovercraft?

President: "Then send those requests, all troops are cleared the fire, fusion cannon is cleared to fire at that Vrakian ship.

I think you mean here "Takian" ship. Please don't hit me! :)

Dyelli Beybi might show up at some stage, but for now we're too busy sorting our own country out to bother about the rest of the FKC. If the JDF starts annoying us we'll probably help out Remonlands, and if this is still going on when Dyelli Beybi is rebuilt, well...I won't give away anything about the route Dyelli Beybi is taking.

To most of you that may seem like a pointless post. To me it is a tag.

thats a bit of a problem acculy. . . as I'm not even going to bother with numbers at the begining. . . needless to say, this will be anything but subtle, and any radar station that is pointed into the general vicinity will be seeing a cloud of helicopters, and yes, there are a lot of five bot hover crafts moving inland as well. . . and that beeping is my cellphone, meaning I gotta be going for tonight, I'll post sometime before I get to sleep, but don't wait up, likly it'll be around 1-2ish.

Well, here's the thing. If you came from the Polar Sea (the sea west of Vrak and north of Dukratus and east of Kravoli or North Germania - we aren't sure which one occupies that "?") then really you should be expecting heavy resistance. I mean, you are passing along the whole northern coastline of Vrak, which is where many of our cities are located. Perhaps you have some kind of advanced stealth technology?

If you came over the polar cap as Alcona suggested, the at least our resistance would be less. And exact numbers aren't necessary now, but a ballpark figure would be handy. Hundreds of helicopters? Thousands of hovercraft? Once spotted (and if the numbers are huge) it will determine the level of response.

As well, is there a moon out?

edit: Ah, made a mistake. Replace "Polar Sea" with "Arctic Ocean" and then pass the straits that body of water should be the North Sea. Now, by now you're wondering what the hell am I talking about. I happen to have an old but detailed map that Fasta made. I'll see if I can crop the necessary area and post it - or if another FKC dude beats me to it, then that's great. FKC guys, the map I have has "Kieva" instead of "Remmonlands" if that helps any. That map has my cities on there so that is what I'll be referring too. Sorry for any confusion Dozle/Taka.

back, though tis 4 am and I will shortly be crashing before work tommorow, sorry guys. . . anywho, a few answers, hundreds of helicopters, thousands of hovercraft, thousands of drop pods, around a million SOAT's will be hitting the shores, and assume that they came through the Artic to avoid any problems.

LRR, say, I really don't mind you wading in but as long as it's okay with Dozle and remmonlands since they are the main dudes. Mind you, it might be hard for you to engage Dozle unless, of course, you come over the same route that he did - namely the polar ice cap. Coming near Vrak with your fighter may end up with some of friendly fire since realistically, we don't know who you are - a hasty message from "contol" nonwithstanding.

In other words, Vrak would only trust fellow Klatch nations or allies. Strangers such as yourself would raise suspicion. Know what I mean?
Taka
29-01-2004, 06:12
Honestly I/Dozle don't mind, like I said, I'm not dealing with numbers till I've opened all the fronts that are going to be opened, I'll just keep piling them on there, till his resources are streched from fighting on so many freaking fronts with so many freaking robots. Anywho, still have the 47 UM system to invade, and the entire Cromestar Alliance to bring down on him, as well as the Alpha Centauri system, which will bring Taka and the rest of the PCDI into play.
Vrak
29-01-2004, 06:20
Huh? Chromestar Alliance will attack the Klatch? You do realize that will raise the stakes considerably. I should also add that I'm willing to edit stuff if events don't seem to jive in the war thread.
29-01-2004, 12:41
no, chromestar alliance is 1 of the groups Dozle is going to attack, Dozle is trying to take over the universe and in order to do that, he's making the biggest mistake ever.

He's going to be fighting on several fronts, meaning, the FKC, Alpha Centauri, Chromestar, some other earth nations and all of their allies.

Looks good to me, dont' forget though, that they can and will be reinforced by space, so battle lines could very quickly be redrawn as SOAT drop pods hits behind your possitions. Also, the drop pods we are using are small, five man craft. Cheap, easy to produce, provide a small target to AA fire from the ground, and can be launched in large waves. hope this clears up any misconceptions that ya might have had.

that works, incase you missed it, this (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=112790&highlight=) is the thread that this is born from, basicly Adam is an artificial Sentiance program that was created to be the perfect life form. He was supposed to bring the Mizunian Empire *now the Imperial PRincipality of Taka* to a golden age of prosparity. . . unfortunaly the body that Adam was going to inhabit was destroyed, and the AS took over the mind of Prince Taka's Brother, Makoto, becomiing corrupted as it was exposed to the darker side of humanity. it sought absoulte power, and caused a massive civil war, mainly the Mizunian split. Adam was not killed in the war however, and transfered his contiousness to Dozle 30 years later, who was the grandson of Prince Taka, and the son of the Valinion emperor "Rowald". So now he's back with a vengance, a massive army of robots that serve him like a God, and the power to psychicly control any machine he is aware of. *pants* and that is the backstory in under five minutes.

**In the Air**

The fighters and interceptors scream with power as they rip after the LRR fighters, easily matching mach 3. They tail them till the target lock indicates in the empty cockpit. a trio of anti-aircraft missiles streaming away from each interceptor, followed by a hail of laserfire as the cannons open up. The Vrakian division fires against the few remaining helicopters, knocking 10 of them from the sky in flaming balls, and forcing anouther 5 to crash land. 56 interceptors, two for each of the Vrakian aircraft, streak off, pushing the aircraft to the limit and creating a sonic boom as they hit mach 12, the HEPD fields sending a streaming ball of plasma around them, protecting the aircraft from its own speed. The first wave, 28 strong, streaks by the aircraft, seeking to disorrient the pilots and force tehm into evasive manuevers as the screaming balls of plasma rush towards them. The second wave, slower than the first, arms thier missiles and laser cannons, firing as soon as thier commrades have cleared the kill zone.

In the part I boldfaced, is this referring to the area near the Vrak/Remmonland border?
01-02-2004, 17:00
I was thinking that the Destiny's Fist group was providing air cover over the Vrakian ships heading towards the landing beach. Where exactly was that group, cause if it isn't at the landing zone then Dozle won't have any intrest in it, and I'll edit.

Well, to keep the story consistent, I would place the Destiny's Fist north of that big, funny "H" shaped island. Then they are all heading down the straight to the capital but the aircraft certainly can swoop overhead.

Is that area plugged with hovercraft or are those things on the beach already?

What does a SOAT look like? Surely by now with the fighting going on some kind of visual identification along with a basic understanding of their capabilities should be possible.

http://www.colinmackenzie.net/robots/amee/standing.jpg
http://www.hbrobotics.org/images/AMEE.jpg

The SOAT-bot, or Special Operation, All Terrain Robot, is produced by Paladin Arms, a joint Resi Corp/Takian Arms company project. Only 200,000 of the units were created, because at nearly three million bullets *six million USD* a unit, they were deamed too expencive. . . however Adam obtained the plans, and with his control over a mechanized legion of worker drones, started mass producing them for his army. Nearly half a billion of the SOATs escaped from the palace as Adam, in the body of the Prince Dozle, made his exit.

Statistics

Weaponry
2 clawblades on the arms
1 automatic coilgun for engaging soft targets
1 Lascannon for engaging armored targets

Armor

Neotitanium plates over vital areas, with a titanium polymer skeleton makes the bots all but impervious to small arms fire, though the eye slot, shoulders, and under arm areas are unarmored to allow mobility, it would take a sniper with a high caliber weapon to hope to deal enough damage to put a bot down with a single shot. The best course of action is to drown the bot in a stream of constant fire, literaly ripping it into peices, because short of complelty dismanteling the bot, they will continue single mindedly on thier mission.
Vrak
03-02-2004, 08:47
Okay. Assuming that the background of the bot is purely OOC unless some other nations that have come in contact with SOATs before have the knowledge you do (in regards to how best to kill them) and are forthcoming. As well, those robots look the same as from the show Red Planet. Am I right?
04-02-2004, 01:31
You would be correct, as for the info, it is indeed OOC, though your front line troops are likely discovering it rapidly.

Alright, It now appears I have the ruins of a cruiser laying in my nation. My point on this is that you have sent a computer 'virus' down on your stoats. Who are about to have a meeting with my armored drones, however I should inform you that there is no way that the virus is going to work on my system since the Var use a trimary machine code (012) representing (postive, neutral, negative) of course the Var have to send anything to a non-var ship by analog signal and can't hack Terran based systems worth a damn...
04-02-2004, 18:43
A cruiser LOW, that's 10 of those big wrecks.

I'll be coming over after this war to investigate the wrecks if you don't mind, if you do, i'll have to stick with what hit my nation
Taka
05-02-2004, 00:42
Accualy, Adam is an entire Artificial Sentience Program, its an extention of what has taken over Dozle's mind. . . if it can hack a human brain, it will eventualy be able to hack through your droids, reguardless of what kind of number system they use. Also, LOW, there are 10 cruisers forced to a crash landing. Power is still on in many of them, and the passengers are still intact for the most part, meaning there are now 10 "spawn points" if you will forgive the gaming expression, in your homeland. They are going to act as firebases, as well as providing a small SOAT army at each landing point.
The Lords of War
05-02-2004, 18:59
Well Yes and No...
Assuming that Adam had the ability to reprogram minds based on Terran life forms may be analogus to a computer system. Based on your storyline he
did not do that overnight. A lanquage situation would be analogus here. If one where to know how to quickly learn lanquages from
from a particluar lanquage family, one could quickly interpet the meaning of words from lanquages that may be geograpicly diffrent.
Say for example, if one had that ability with the indo-european family one could redily find from the english word
"month" that the Hindi word "mahina" means the same. You could not however find the meaning of the Turkish word, "ay", since it is from
a diffrent lanquage family.

My 'interpertation' is that ADAM understands the programing lanquage family based on the binary machine code ex. 101010 and human/terran
mind types. He would not have the ready background to instantly learn a new machine code nor a completely alien race physiology. So he could
take over my machines, but only after he figured out the new lanquage family which would be a difficult and time consuming process.

I should point out that this same concept was used by the U.S. in WWII with their Navjo code talkers. Navjo belongs to it's own lanquage family so one has to
learn it contexturaly while involved with a native speaker if you don't have someone elses data on hand. Much to the disappointment of the Japanesse.

I'm not trying to be an uberwank but this is one of the limitations/strengths of the Var. It took them several hundread years to
figure out how to speak to humans without a bloody mess occuring, or even understand any form of Terran writting. But in some
ways they were looking for more than was there when trying to interperet terran words and vocabulary. Even LOW terrans trained
to work with the LOW computer lanquages have a hard time on other lanquges. And a higher 'interpertation' might be also
difficult since the LOW lanquge is written in a form of a tri-part glyph. The first indicates action/acjective the second is a noun
and the third represents a caste class.

How big are said cruisers now augered into my nation? Also I assume they would target what look like military faciites and my cities...
Taka
05-02-2004, 23:47
Alright, I'll give you that, however I would think that information, even if it didn't have viral properties would cause problems. Sort of like hallucinations in humans, or being put in a room with blaring music and flashing lights, it would be possible to continue functioning however it would be distracting, perhaps even causing lag, but thats up to you to decide. Eventualy Adam will figure out the coding system and be able to translate himself into it for the purpous of controling the bots, however this will take a long time, and I doubt it will be usable untill the late part of this battle.

Light Cruiser stats - do note, these will not be moving, they will crashland in LOW, and will likely be damaged due to this, so they will not be exactly as powerful as listed. Also, these are older model Light Cruisers, as in, most are at least 100 years old.

Sorry for not putting some numbers up earlier. The four carrier groups that are reinforcing and now making a push for the Remmonland's capital are as follows:

Each group:

1 Aircraft Carrier (Kreml class)
2 BB (Soyuz III class)
2 cruisers (Kirov class)
4 destroyers (mix of Sovremenny, Udaloy-II, and Berkut-B Kara class)
1 frigate (Neustrashimy class)
2 subs (Akula II class)
5 amphibious warfare ships (Ivan Rogov class)

You can see this from your vantage point (i.e I assume from space) or perhaps the frigates that landed.

Losses so far:

From Destiny's fist group:

I BB, 2 destroyers, I frigate, 2 cruisers inoperable, 3 transport helicopters.

Each carrier group has an assortment of oilers, etc...

Land numbers coming so very sorry for lack of numbers there. I think of that front it can be assumed that dozens of helicopters and a score or so of Thunderbolts bit the dust with a few escaping with some damage - perhaps to go get repaired. Sound okay? Are the 30 ships that were destroyed in space broken up into pieces and spread all over the Klatch? That's how I read it anyhow.
Taka
07-02-2004, 21:08
Quite alright, I've never been good with hard and fast numbers myself. Those losses seem about right, as for the Frigates, they broke up in the atmosphere and thousands of peices *about the size of a car each* and are each falling over the entirty of the Klatchian coastline.

Currently there are 318 active frigates, though 8 of those are showing heavy damage. I'm going to go ahead and say that 100 are heading towards Valinon, 100 are securing the beachhead, 100 are smattered along the front providing air cover, and 18 are entering the Remmonlands capital to provide fire support. Also, when it says weapons battery, that indicates a segment on the hull dedicated to high powered laser cannons, plasma cannons, railguns, and Mark I plasma lances, which basicly are railguns firing high explosive rounds. In space combat they are used to overwelm a ships shields and then to slowly tear away at the hull. the armor is a little over two meters thick, meaning that its going to take massive fire to get through it, though at 500 meters, on the ground its a sitting duck for incoming enemy fire. Accualy, I think I'll go ahead and post stats on it here and now. . . and if you need more stats then you can find them here (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1840121#1840121), though the ships being used are ancient, some a thousand years of age or more *ah the joys of having a nation thats been around for 6000 years, and in space for 2000.* Anywho, as for losses to your weaponry, the SOATs are taking terrible casulties, however they are being produced just as quickly as they are being destroyed in Daikerta and aboard the ships themselves *those that valinon isn't turning to ash that is. . . * anywho, so I'm not going to worry about numbers untill one of two things happens. . .

1) the ground war is opened up in Proxima Centauri, which will happen soon, 47 UM, which will happen as soon as EB gets back, and they are continuing the war in your coastline.

2) you literealy raze Daikerta to the ground

3) you start using WMD, or find some way to kill more SOATs than they can produce.

Frigate

The mainstay of any fighting force, the small but deadly Frigates, able to throw up a cloud of AA fire to screen approaching smaller craft, and agile enough to slip under capitalships and over whelm them with fire, the frigate is perhaps the most vercitile of the takian fleet, playing as everything from hospital ships, to mechant ships, to escourts, to raiders, and so on and so forth.

Armorment: (3) AA missile pods (10) AA turret pods (2) weapons batteries, port (2) weapons batteries, Starboard

Armor: one layer of deflector shields, one back up generator, 1 m of titanium armor, 1 m titanium polymer blend, 30 cm tungstun ceramite, HEPD field

Fold drives: 1

Length: 500 meters

Crew: 50 minimum, 70 minimum combat crew, 100 max

Boarding Actions: 3 Kamakazi class boarding vessels, 30 marines both for boarding and repeling boarders.

Powered by: 3 plasma generators

Cost: 5 billion with AI, 4.5 billion without

correction taka, make that 17 frigates once that prototype in the capital goes off

and you should prepare to knock down some more numbers on your spaceships, that project 131 is built using the takan fusion tech
Taka

Didn't it fire already? I already took damage for that gun going off, managed to pop the shields on a frigate, and thats no small feat considering these are designed to shunt off blows that would devistate entire city blocks. . .

Ah, just reread the post, I thought it was a Grazer, I'll edit, as for the barrage, you'll deal damage against the hull, but its awfully thick, and has no human occupants to worry about losing, so likely it will survive the worst of it.
11-02-2004, 14:05
I just posted it fired, and no, it's no grazer, just a prototype for a shipboard maser cannon, a really damned powerfull 1 that uses a dedicated fusion reactor to wreak havoc.

the original plan was to let you shoot at the thing to get an even more devastating result (maser beam fires, followed by the fusion reactor being launched at you while going critical)

the Project 131 is armed with a fusion maser cannon, which combines the fusion cannon and a maser system.

this means it fires a conventional hydrogen stream at high speed, then right before the stream impacts, it beams the stream with a maser and sends it critical, thus delivering a fusion blast at point blank range.

i'm aiming for your flagship, but if you want something to get in the way, feel free

OOC:

LOW, this is what I'm doing.

1) Naval fleet allong with allies restocking at Base #10
2) the other fleet is currently (from what I gather) is steaming around the Vrakian penninsula. It won't enter theater yet. From what I know, LLR and Dyelli Beybi assets are there. I think also Dukratus has some ships.
3) The few marines in Remmonlands capital are fighting the SOATs. Attempts to reinforce them via amphibious craft failed.
4) Vrakian/Remmonlands border heavily secured. I have some forces in Remmonlands on search and destroy missions. Soon, some special ops will enter Remmonlands.
