Ever-changing LRR fleet doctrine calls for the periodic introduction of new ships in the LRR fleet and causes old designs to be replaced by newer, more up to date vessels. LRR is doing away with the destroyer and battlecruiser concepts. Cruisers will now operate largely independently, and battlecarriers will be at the head of groups of these new ships.

The Robert Plant class light carriers are LRR's new fleet command ships. They are simple, rugged designs about the size of a destroyer (100-200 meters), capable of carrying up to 100 fighters or corvettes. They are designed to stay out of the main fighting, but are equipped with two ion cannons and 15 laser point defense mounts, as well as a very strong shield. The ship's simple design allows the Robert Plant class carriers to be produced on the scale of the Rockland class destroyers. They are crewed by 20 sailors, but they have capacity for the full flight wing.

The new Keith Moon class torpedo boats are designed to be the backbone of the new LRR fleets. They are fast, manouverable, and well armed. Their major drawback is light armor, but the speed and manouverability of these vessels usually makes up for that shortcoming. They are armed with two flak cannons, the worst enemy of a bomber squadron, and two torpedo tubes, capable of launching up to 70 torpedos per minute, and with an internal capacity of up to 500 torpedos. However, this leaves very little room for the 10-person crew, who is usually relegated to the bridge area.

The resizing of the fleet also requires new strike craft to be added to the LRR fleet. The Pinafore class ion gunship corvette is LRR's newest stike craft. Its single heavy ion cannon is designed to rip through shields and impact the target ship's hull, namely the engines and weapons systems. The Pinafore class is LRR's largest corvette, bordering on 50 meters in length. In this size, the corvette packs the same engine as the super acolyte, except this time with two of them. The Pinafore class are even equipped with their own short-jump hyperspace drives. They are, while not manouverable, very fast and armored. The only problem with the corvettes are that they are somewhat veunerable to torpedos and fighters, so a twin mass driver turret has been installed to provide defense from these threats.

The Blade Mk. 13 class interceptor is LRR's newest fighter type. It mounts a single light ion cannon, designed specifically for combatting fighters. It is fast and manouverable, as well as small and easy to build. They are used often to escort Pinafore class gunships. However, they are very lightly armored. A pilot would be lucky to survive more than one torpedo strike, so they are mostly used in support of the fleet combat ships. The Super Acolyte is still the best LRR fighter. Pound for Pound, the Super Acolyte is harder to destroy than most cruisers.

The Ion Cannon Frigate is LRR's primary cardboard vessel. They are usually controlled by operators in a more capable ship type, such as torpedo boats or heavy attack frigates (not shown here). The ICF mounts a single very heavy ion cannon, and that's it. The ion cannon takes up most of the ship, and they have little in the way of armor. They are designed to be used like artillery in support of LRR and allied battlegroups.
