Since there are so many of you right now, I have one guideline for you all.

Going back to the original post, all I can say is good advice, lets hope those n00bs can comprehend normal english and not threaten to "attack us with their 5 billion man army and uze nukes on us!!11111"

Well, in war-RPs bigger nations do have an advantage. But I also think, that the older nations should give newbs a chance (n00bs are another topic), especially if the RP is a CO-RP or a sports-RP.

But yes, n00bs shouldn't go around starting wars with the biggest nation they can find. Not only is it incredibly stupid, but stomping on n00bs gets boring after a while.
Newbs, however, should be encouraged and taught how to RP responsibly, and they can therefore become an upstanding member of the community.

Ah, the lull in n00bs over the xmas period was good, but now it seems the n00bs are beginning to pop out of the ground again in anticipation of spring.
Dammit.

yes i was new once and got into a fight with two very big nations, i fought fairly well and they didn't use nukes, so i am quite grateful about that, they basicly tought me how to RP very well, i think "courses" should be run for stuff like that.......

I was? Erm, which fleet was it? I have about fifteen of them...Actually, which nation was it that you had? My fleets have been in many wars, and killed many many people...

Well you probably would remember but i did :P I was Surdia, I was defending Harding Beach Island, and you and like 3 other nations kept my fleet out.

It was massive. Like several hundreds of warships and I think at one time there were 5000 fighters in a dog fight.

But you had those damn annoying stealth subs popping up out of nowhere. :P

I have never yet RPed. However, I created my nation long ago, and already have 1.789 billion people according to my lookup. Does that mean that if/when I start to RP I will be able to instantly establish myself as a nuclear superpower?

Listen people. Your nation does not "start to exist" when you press that button on the website. Many people RP their nations as having existed hundreds or thousands of years ago.

The problem with new nations declaring war is that many of them are not very good RPers yet, but that is not a hard rule, and means nothing to their military strength if they do happen to RP well.

Again, I ask: I have never yet RPed but have 1.789 billion people according to my lookup. Does that mean that as soon as I start RPing I can immediately start out as a superpower? Despite that people who just created their nation but are otherwise in the same position RP-wise cannot? That makes no sense.

Also, have you ever noticed how your nation's population never ever goes DOWN, regardless of how bad you make the living conditions in your country, not to mention no matter how often you're bombed in an RP war?

The population according to you nation lookup doesn't make much sense ICly either.

Speaking of the nation lookup, have you noticed that the issues all seem to be set in a modern-day nation, but many people RP having spaceships, non-human sentient races, and/or magic?

Or how about the issue about privatising the beach? Does that mean that anybody who roleplays his nation as being landlocked is a godmodder?

A better thing to say would be that creation date has no bearing on roleplaying ability. I've met some nations that on thier first day have posted elequently, well, and balanced diplomatic roleplays. however, creation date DOES have an influence on how large and how powerful your nation is, meaning, the older you are, the more your comments mean in terms of stick and carrot negotiations.
