Secret IC

“Yes, Chancellor, it is done, Valhalla is complete” said Supreme Command Harlim

“Tell me of it again,” said the Chancellor

“Sir! Valhalla is our most top-secret command facility, buried beneath tons of mountain rock, and blanketed by deep permafrost and vicious snowstorms. It houses our command and control faculties, our most secret research projects, and is accessible primarily by the tram running from the town to the South. There are VTOL caverns in the mountains, but they are not easily accessible, and the tram is the preferred method of entrance.”

“Yes, very good” said the chancellor

OOC: It is IMPOSSIBLE to detect the facility BY ANY MEANS. The helicopter caverns mentioned are visible, but obscured by the raging snowstorms, making it VERY DIFFACULT to fly in and out, therefore they aren’t used much. The tram is only accessible via the airbase located in the south city, and only by the most senior, very few are even aware of its existence, it is referred to as High Command, it simply just “is” for most people, they get orders from thee, but they don’t know where it is. Only the upper and most senior of the command staff know its existence and location. It’s the cyan dot on the map

(oocyou spelled difficult wrong, and also, by vtol, do you mean vtol jets, or just helicopters, so to clarify u could just put helos or jets behind vtol[even tho helicopters generally do take off vertically.])

(OOC: He sort of clarifies that with his OOC comment)

(i no, but it seems lame to comment "you spelled difficult wrong." so i added substance, such as saying helos instead of vtol, which pretty much means a vertical takeoff jet.

OOC:

A giant, subsurface base that is completely undetectable and unknown?

Who built it? I mean, what happened to the workers. Did they just "dissappear?" If so, why are their families not questioning it? If not, do you really think that none of them will leak anything? Even to best friends and family members that have looser lips?

What about all the tunneling equipment that was used? Did it really disappear from company/government sites just to reappear, used, sometime later? Where did all the dirt dug out from the tunnels go? How about the money it cost to pay the workers, pay for the digging equipment, or pay for all the materials and computers and other expensive junk that went inside?

How about the people that normally work inside? They have to eat...or do they grow their own food inside, requiring larger digging costs, more workers, and more dirt? What about their families? Do they even have them? Do they stay inside too (requiring more space and more food)? Are even the lowly maintenence people screened for their ability to keep where they work top secret? Do you think they will?

What about all those helecopters, and yes that tram, that dissappear and reappear later carrying other people, lacking equipment, or carrying out trash and broken items? No one asks any questions about them?

The only reason no one would know about your super-secret military instilation is because no one knows who you are. No offense, but you still have to work up a name for yourself.

Otherwise, pretty much everyone would know that it exists and roughly where it is. It doesn't mean they can get in or destroy it, but they would know of it.

Everything leaves a trace.

And that is what I think.

Good points, all

I believe I was a little, overzealous, in my OOC statement, I truly don’t think I can keep it secret forever, and im sure something will be leaked, or something coming in or out spotted. As for the families, families of the people who are stationed there are also moved in. It’s a large underground community, a subterranean city. We’re working on a way to repress people memories so these drastic measures aren’t needed but as of yet the experiments have failed. Wouldn’t say there were more than 1,000 people there, maybe 1500 all total. Also, please keep in mind my government style, people DO tend to just “disappear” and those who ask about them tend to also “vanish”

The tram is located inside of another military instillation, not a public area. People who know what’s well from them DON’T ask questions. Im sure threes plenty of people who wonder about it, and im sure that the information can stay secret forever, nothing stays secret forever. Its an nearly-entirely self sufficient community.

Yes, I did mean Helicopters, by VTOL, also. But, also like is aid, snowstorm activity causes navigation to be very difficult. Hence the Tram. It also occurred to me that there has to be equipment on the surface, Antennas and what not, to connect the facility to incoming information, while they are small, threes yet another way the facility could be found. I just want to note that, TO DATE no information THAT WE KNOW OF has been leaked to foreign nations. Im sure my people suspect something, but what do they care? Remember, if they ask too many questions, they are….disappeared. People know of Valhalla as something that just is, it could be a person, or a facility, lower end officers arent sure. Its normaly refered to as "High Command"

What I meant by "impossible" is that thermal imaging and the like would not be enough to find the facility

And, another good point in the reputation idea. But, even if it were discovered, as you say, it’d still be one “tough nut to crack”

Thank you so very much for pointing the flaws out to me, very much appercated

OOC: Good idea.

IC: The Floor of The Senate of The Dominion of The Captain

"Wait here, what's this nation on the map?"

"Sir, that's Transnapastain," an advisor said.

"What?" the Senator asked.

"Don't worry about it, sir."
