The Ministry of Space and Exploration in accordance with ZENSA reports... (ZTV-1 and Z680 broadcast)

After nearly a decade of dormancy, ZENSA is taking advantage of the recent economic upswing and is revitalizing the space program. At the new Zeronian National Space Agency (ZENSA) headquarters in Effen, Zeronia executed its third space launch. Citizens across the nation took a half-day off to view the launch of Pentris Alpha live on their television screens. The launch was also broadcasted over the internet (see: ZeroNet Communications), making itself the first national internet broadcast in Zeronia. The launch signifies the move to prompt modernization via next-generation satellites. The two satellites of the previous Octopus missions are still operational. Octopus-1 is essentially an experimental project and scientific satellite; Octopus-2 is a crude weather and navigational satellite. The Ministry of Space and Exploration has expressed the need to modernize.

"After several years of stagnation, Zeronia is now clearly behind in space research," explained Minister David Han, "We must make space exploration a top priority. With intimate collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Research, we plan to have Zeronian telecommunications and broadcasting almost entirely space-based within ten years. We also plan on launching a Zeronian space telescope within fifteen years."

The successors of the Octopus program are Pentris and Sextris. A series of Pentris satellites are planned to be launched within the next six to eight years. The Pentris Alpha is specifically designed as a communications satellite, which will be part of a larger network to service wireless telephone users throughout Zeronia. With the launch of Pentris Beta and Pentris Gamma, Zeronia will have nationwide coverage for nearly all wireless telecommunication services. The final satellite of the Pentris series, Pentris Delta, will offer citizens satellite broadcasting. The Sextris program is still in the planning phase, so there is not much that can be said about it. There is, however, a high probability that wireless internet and Zeronia's first telescope will be part of the Sextris program.

When the Ministry of Space and Exploration's crusade to establish a fleet of modern satellites becomes a success, the crowd will chant for the launch of a Zeronian into space, and the ZENSA will have to deliver. Officials report that even at this point in the game, several dozen potential zeronauts are training hard in military compounds all over Zeronia. ZENSA's guarantee is that we will see a zeronaut waving from above within our lifetime.

We are happy that another nation is taking steps out of the cradle. If we can assist, don't hesitate to ask. May we suggest the CMC Heavy-lift Cargo Booster (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=118458) for all of your surface-to-orbit launching needs?
