The Sprawl (Semi-Intro RP)

24-01-2004, 07:49
The desolate urban sprawl stretched out around the massive Angel Bay dome for many hundreds of miles, an island utopia in a sea of filthy slums. Men in armor patrolled the entrances, parts of their garb glowing a faint neon blue. Grepler trip-rifles where held at shoulder-arms in preperation for the arrival of foreign diplomats. The armored men where known as Guardians, the JDA's foot soldiers and enforcers in the slums. Their faceless helmets watched everything and nothing, each staring straight ahead. At this stage, Angel Bay's military was more of a police force, lacking the size and advanced technology to take on larger militaries. Guardians outfitted with repulsorpacks floated above their land-bourne comrades, their weapons where kept in a ready position. The Enforcers, as they where known, where the eyes of the JDA's Guardian forces, who could not see over the large buildings in the Sprawl's confines. The govenor of Angel Bay, Solomon Dannis, waited with his escort on the steps of his lavish palace. He'd personnaly sent the invitations to come and visit his splended city...

OOC: It's a pretty standard intro RP, just send a diplomat if you like. If not, ignore me completely. Before I get any questions of this nature; Yes, this is heavily based on Dark Reign 2. I was looking for a good future-tech society that was already pretty well established.

General Ilritz didn't know what to think of Angel Bay, the airport seemed nice enough. Modern in its own way. Though on approach he was surprised by the appearance of the city. Desolation is the best word to describe the sprawl. Ilritz was a robust man, with many discerning things about him. The majority of Aumanii's were short, stocky and clean shaven. Ilritz was Tall, thick built and he wore a dark beard that was braided down the middle. Ilritz spoke to one of his entourage in a rich Aumanii accent 'When are our hosts supposed to meet with us?' his aide shrugged...'When ever they decide to show up my lord.'

OOC:

Yeah...I wouldn't mind making some more friends, especially off of Mars. I've been pretty isolationist till recently.

Govenor Dannis moved forward to greet the new arrivals. He was dressed in an extravagant robe of royal purple, accented with silver cuffs. A quartet of Guardians escorted him.

"On behalf of the Judicial Detention Authority, I welcome you to ANgel Bay. My name is Govenor Solomon Dannis. Who do I have the pleasure of greeting?"

A Large bearded man made his way out of the press and took the JDA officials hand heartily. "Good evening, Iam Lord General Ilritz of the Aumanii Armed Forces. Ive seen your city, and Im impressed so far. How many people live here may I ask?" Ilritz looked towards a portal overlooking the vast sprawling Megalopolis, "Its amazing how many low level buildings there are...In Auman we dig deep and build high, barely any single story buildings exist in my country. But I guess its just the way of my people. We live on Mars, and at the time of the founding of our great nation building was restricted to inside the walls of the great Vascilian crater, but Im just ranting at you now..." stood patiently, waiting to be ushered off on a tour, or what ever the JDA had planned for him and his aides.

Ambassador Maile Barret sat by the window of the Redoshi diplomatic jet, looking out over the bleak landscape. A faint frown touched her face as her brow furrowed in thought. This looked like a bad place for her first diplomatic mission. She was young. The youngest ambassador since anyone could remember. She was pretty too, which embarassed her. It was a simple, girlish, pretty, not the elegant refined beauty the young ladies of Her Majesty's court all seemed to have. Barret sighed and smoothed her skirts unnecessarily as she rose. She was in a nice court dress, high collar, puffed sleeves, geneel gloves. Not an inch of flesh showed below her chin, as was proper. Her raven black hair was in an elegant, fashionable updo. Barret set her jaw and stepped from the plane as it landed, attendants and guards flanking her. She was determined to prove herself. Swiftly, her eyes surveyed the landing, looking for her reception. Her lips turned upwards in her best diplomaric smile and she spoke simply as she was approached. "Greetings, in the name of Her Majesty, Queen Anne III of Redosoh. I am Ambassador Maile Barret."
