OOC: RP Idea [Feedback Needed]
I've got an idea. The idea is still in works. That is why I need feedback. This RP won't take place anytime soon, but I might as well state it now.
When NationStates 2 is released, we could have a war involving all nations that are moving on to NationStates 2. It would be like a grand finale RP because almost all good RPers will probably move to NS2. All I need to do is develop a plot and a list of nations involved before NationStates 2 is released.
[EDIT: The war will start when the release of NS2 is in sight.]
I think it would be a good idea, hard to pull off, but still good. The hard part (besides getting a lot of people to agree) would be in the plot. You see, ICly, why would a group of nations go to war over another group going to another....universe, I guess? Therefore it would be necessary to mask the real reason for the war with some other good IC reason, and everything, at that would be tough.
I have an IC reason, makes sense too. If NS2 is going to be considered another universe, then nations go to war to seize power of that universe. You know, get the power there first, take the most, that kinda thing.
Interuniversal transport? Where? My people want to get home! Gimme!*

Free money and credit cards available does not equal good RPer.
Personally I'm a freshman in college, with a shitty job at EB. I can't afford NS2...and won't be able to pay for some time if I'm still interested due to the fact that I don't have a credit card I can use outside of bying food and shit. If NS falls to shit after NS2 is released, then I will move on. This isn't the first place I've RPed at by far and I doubt it will be the last.
Also, I'd be much more willing to give money for SOCOM II, Resident Evil Outbreak, or Final Fantasy XI than for a text game with no graphics and the like. The idea of people paying for a game like this is rather amusing actually. It'll tank within a year.

NationStates will still be around but about half will have gone on to NationStates 2. I'd probably do both NationStates and NationStates 2.

Yeah...Mr. Berry says that he'd need money to pay the programmers and get a good server and crew for it. :roll:
And while he's right...like I said, a lot of people might pay at first, but then it will slowly die out until he has to shut it down because no one other than a few diehards will still pay for it.
I dunno about the plot but if we were to do this we'd have to have some organization and it can't be one of those last minute deals
this is how I see it happening if it was to happen
1) there would be different threads for different "fronts" (ie, like the different fronts in WW2)
2) different people would be assigned to different fronts
that sorta stuff it would mean that everyone has equal participation, adn no one would (theroretically) getting swarmed by 30+ enemy nations while he fights the good fight.
Yeah, but Dromoland, the nations in NS aren't trying to get land in the other universe, I guess if you use that idea, they'd be trying to stop the defectors from getting new land.
