Naval Overhaul [OOC Comments Please]
The Silver Turtle

After an internal investigation into why The Silver Turtle is only in the top 600 nations for the largest defence forces, Ineffable military buffs have started wondering why most of the Ineffable military equipment is over 300 years old. The equipment dates back to the start of the 21st century, and while the nation has expanded on other fronts scientifically, even updating the armoured forces to various mechas, the naval and air forces remain using the ancient ships and planes.
To combat this, new ships have been designed. The first prototype went to sea yesterday, and within the next few years the First Ineffable Naval fleet will be fully updated with the new equipment, after which the other naval fleets will be updated too after the new ship deigns enter mass-production, after all the bugs have been worked out.
As well as updated weapons, propulsion and armour systems, some of the old Ineffable anti-matter research has been looked into. Although it has been deemed almost useless, it is believed that enough for weapons use could be produced. Although it is beyond our capabilities to mass-produce it, only a few grams are needed to cause an explosion with a yield of around 2 kilotonnes. Each ship could be equipped with a small complement of missiles, although they would have to remain a last-resort use.
OOC: Just an introduction, to see what the general reaction would be. It is pretty stupid that my forces are still 21st century stuff, while I RP a not-too distant future nation. Leda Colony was meant to be 50 years ahead, as when I launched it TST was meant to be 2010 or so. But I decided a 50 year gap between my nations wasn't very good, so both nations are in the future, although TST remains Earth-based.
Anyway, back to the point. What are the general opinions? I want to update my navy, and with it my airforce. I'm not intending to go for anything really ridiculous, just a fair bit more capable than what I have (which is all modern-tech, with the exception of my subs).
Is the anti-matter over the line? I'm not going to be churning out tonnes of it, 'cos I realise that even for a nation of my size, strength, economy, defence-funding and tech level it's still on the impractical side, and conseuqently each ship'll probably only carry about five missiles, each with a warhead of a gram or two.
Also, can anyone tell me what speed a hydrofoil could go before taking off? I know it'll depend on the weight of the craft and the size of the 'foil, and I don't have any figures yet, but I'm just looking for any sort of a rough estimate. I don't want my ships flying away in the middle of a battle!
Anyway, comments?

The Brotherhood of Nod

The Brotherhood, being ranked #39 in the world on military spending per capita, with a population of over 2 billion [/shameless plug], applauds the modernization of TST's navy. The Brotherhood also is looking into a complete overhaul of it's navy, as well as the airforce and land-based armies of the Brotherhood.
The Silver Turtle

Would the Brotherhood be interested in a joint research venture? I'm sure the combined resources of two two-billion+ nations [/copy of shameless plug] could produce some incredibly formidable technologies.
The Brotherhood of Nod

The Brotherhood would certainly be interested. We seek to bridge the gap between ourselves and more futuristic nations somewhat, and joint research projects would benefit all parties involved.

Then it is agreed. The Ineffable Government is sending a courier with our current research enclosed.
OOC: Shall we discuss this further on the GDODAD forums? Anyway, I was basically thinking of:
-One uber-carrier, with two missile batteries, large fighter complement, heavy armour and mech-carrying capabilities (I have a small mech army now). Two heavy railguns. Attack boat* complement. Submerisble idea discarded (it was an old idea that Klamath had, but I don't think it's do-able.)
-Two smaller carriers, medium fighter complement
-Maybe five destroyers, half-toying with plasma cannons but not really. Radar stealthing design
-Cruisers, with the anti-matter missiles
-*Small, fast attack boats. Hydrofoils, thin profile. Used for incredibly quickly sailing past major enemy ships, attatching magnetic mines with a two-second fuse to the hulls of the enemy, which will allow the boats just enough time to get away before the ships blows up.
-Successor to the Supremacy class submarine, new stealth sub. Same principles as the supremacy, bit more firepower, smarter torps, anti-matter missile capability.

Anti-Matter in the ocean? That'd be a little hard to justify....
Anyhow...we seeing pics?

Well it'd only be reacting with the missile and/or the enemy ships, not the ocean as such. It'd just be a rather big explosion. It's not like other nations havn't used nukes in anti-ship warfare. My way's a little cleaner.
And you will be seeing pics if I can find any or get a decent 3D modelling program.

Builder: W.M.D. Arms Manufacturing
Length: 150m
Beam: 20m
Weapons Systems:
1 Mk. 83 Missile Launcher

5 Genesis Class Desolation Missiles (Anti-matter warhead)
2 Evil Class gun systems
1 Turtle Class gun system
12 Spider Class Torpedoes
OOC: Yes, it's a trimaran.
And before I go further, some descriptions so you know what they are:
Evil Class gun systems: Twin Gattling cannon systems, primarily used to defend ships from incoming anti-ship missiles and aircraft.
Turtle Class Gun Systems: Small, mid-range anti-ship railgun system.
I see no problem with you wanting to update your forces in one shot, hell, makes me wonder why you haven't already.
But.......I consider anti-matter to be waaaay over the line. Its one thing when you're using anti-matter reactors and what not in space vessels (generally far future tech), I take offense when people start tossing "a few grams" around here and there. The requirements for containing anti-matter go waaaaay beyond any conceivable (even on a future wank tech scale like ST or SW) micro-level abilities (ie missiles). Of course this is just IMHO, but, I would have to say that I am not gonna accept anti-matter missiles from anyone (anymore, it was just ridiculous last time it happened).

Shark Class Attack Boat

Builder: W.M.D. Arms Manufacturing
Length: 10m
Crew: 2 (1 pilot 1 gunner)
Weapons Systems
1 Turtle Class Gun System
3 Forward Torpedo lauchers
2 Rear-Facing Web Class Launchers
This is a small, fast, heavily armed atack boat, designed to get up close and personal with heavier ships before they have a chance to blow it out of the water. The strange winglike projections beneath the boat are in fact a hydrofoil, which is what allows the boat to travel so fast.
The Web Class launchers are what make the Shark class so deadly. Each launcher comprises of a block of nine smaller launchers, and both of the major ones are capable of swivelling and independantly tracking and attacking targets. The Web launchers fire small, magnetic mines. They are primarily used when the vessel is within a twenty metre radius due to their very short range. The mines latch themselves onto the ships hull and have a two second fuse, just enough time for the Shark to retreat before the mine blows a hole in the side of the enemy ship. On a good day, a barrage of these could lift the hull of a ship off it's keel.

Domination Class Stealthed Attack Submarine

Builder: Ineffable Advanced Systems Constructors
Length: 106m
Beam: 12m
Weapons Systems
8 Forward Torpedo tubes
4 Aft Torpedo tubes
20 Spider Class Torpedoes
6 Vertical Missile tubes
2 Genesis Class Desolation Missiles
10 Tomahawk cruise missiles
24 Banshee Anti-Ship Missiles
The Domination class is the sucessor to the world renowned Supremacy stealth submarines. The new submarine combines improved versions of the stealth technology used in it's predecessor, along with upgraded firepower and some new technology to combat the one weakness of the Supremacy, being it's visibility in the IR band. With the white noise/sonar generators, the adaptive optics system covering the outer hull and the outer cooling system, this new version is slightly larger than it's predecessor, but more advanced machinery has allowed more space as crew number are reduced reducing the volume of crew quarters. The caterpillar drive used by both the Dominance and the Supremacy also ensures a lack of engine noise. The new Dominance class has improved on the Supremacy in every way, making it one of the most silent and deadly weapons available to the Ineffable navy.
OOC: Erm, the pic looks stupid, doesn't it?
The Brotherhood of Nod

The Brotherhood has decided that we would like to buy 15 Hell class Supremacy carriers, 40 Poseidon class Frigates (OOC: without the antimatter stuff plz, it's a bit over the top for my nation) and 30 Domination class submarines.
If possible, could you add vacuum backup systems to all ships to counter EMP blasts (if not already present)?
