OOC: This is an update of the Chimaean World Factbook entry. The format is based on the CIA factbook, though I've left out entries that I've considered too much detail to bother with ;) A map will be coming soon.
But this is a fairly good rough draft... Give me lots of feedback!! :)
Could anyone allied/pacted/treatied with me post the exact nature of their nation's relationship to Chimaea here? Also anyone wishing to be allied or whatever can post too :)

Chimaea
Introduction
Background: Chimaea became a Commonwealth of the former British Empire in 1784, one year after the United States was formed in the Treaty of Paris. Chimaea fought a short war of independence in 1783, from which the beleaguered British granted them Commonwealth status, with the British Monarch as its constitutional, if nominal, head of state; something which changed when a powerful Governor declared himself King. The Chimaean Commonwealth soon became vast and powerful as it conquered the lands around it. However, the Commonwealth became too large to manage from a Centralised Chimaean government and various states demanded autonomy and independence. Insurrection after insurrection was fought when finally the King was deposed in a military coup, backed by the former Parliament. The Parliament appointed an executive Governor who created a truce with the warring states and, in a historic meeting, granted them independence and autonomy.
Chimaea’s borders became smaller and the floundering economy was stabilised and grew. Chimaea joined the Empire of Baron, a region of neighbouring nations, and rose to become the Regional Delegate to the United Nations. This enabled Chimaea to actively contribute troops and resources to the first two World Wars. Ever since, Chimaea has had a long tradition of military service, in wars such as the Amerigo Slaver War, the Chimaean-Clock Hill War, the Street Island Crisis, and a whole host of military and humanitarian interventions within other nations such as Hrstrovokia and Colombia, as well as diplomatic intervention in areas of tension such as Ienotheisa. Most recently, the Chimaean Armed Forces have deployed to the Republic of Syskeyia to repel a Reich invasion of the Syskeyian mainland.
Chimaea has experienced continual internal strife with one of its few remaining annexed colonies, Street Island, a large island-nation which was deemed too much of a strategic asset to fall into other hands, particularly of the former Clock Hill regime, which Chimaea had fought several times until the first Baron War, where Clock Hill was invaded by Chimaea and its allies. The dictatorial government was toppled and a democratic government was created under the Presidency of Fedrov Garcia.
Chimaea is an active part of Baron and has introduced extensive programs to coordinate mutual defence, aid and economic resources.
Chimaea has an immense economy, with powerhouse markets in automobile manufacture, book publishing and military production; steady growth; low unemployment and immense advances in technology. It has an exemplary record in civil and political rights, though this has come under fire in the recent Chimaean military occupation of Street Island.

Rising domestic output as well as international trade agreements have overcome the economic slump during the former Bryce Administration, and business and consumer confidence remains high even though income tax rates have risen to a new high. Free trade between the ‘Chimaean-bloc’ Baron nations and an emphasis on reforms in the domestic and international markets, such as careful control of tariffs and firm regulation of corporate policies, have led to a frightening up-turn in the economy, which has survived massively increased military expenditure and high security concerns.

The situation in Hrstrovokia has taken a turn for the worse, with the President suspending the Constitution, dissolving the Parliament and imposing martial law. Chimaea has strongly condemned this and urged the return to the rule of law and the reinstituting of the Constitution.

Chimaea has brought allegations of illegal weapons used in the Syskeyian conflict by the Reich nation of Vegana. There is evidence that the Gulf of Syskeyia has been mined with bio weapons, which are illegal under Resolution 16 of the United Nations. And investigative committee is being formed.

Major conflict has ceased in this Baron nation, and the bulk of Chimaean troops have left. We applaud both sides in their peacemaking after the short conflict, which threatened to seriously destabilise the region.
