Blood is Thicker Than Water (closed RP)

She never forgot.
In truth, she did not want to accept it. She never had, for it wasn't in her power at the time to deal with it.
Maybe her punishment would have been less harsh, or more severe.
He'd never know.
If her mind was made up, as it usually was. If she held the strength to bare such a commitment and hold upon her, which she possessed to the depths of her heart. If she was willing to get her answers at the risk of never waking up again, and she was willing... This would be her last chance...and last time seeing her former fledgling.
...
Never did she bring such a curse upon anyone but Azari. In her absense, her son had held her place. However, with short temperment and a great deal of pride within a name, led him to deal extreme punishment to the one labeled guilty.
Kain...
Her fist clenched at the thought of her own son being at the root of the reason of why one of her blood would have been allowed to die; defensless...and with a sire not even an elder, but a fledgling. Could he not show compassion? Was it too far beyond his comprehension? Had the years seeping into an ancient held a change of heart? Or had this arisen from somewhere else.
I feel no remorse for what I did. There was a code which held good for millenia, and this one had broken it within seconds. A curse be fit upon him...and if he thinks otherwise...let him challenge me. Let me exact what I felt was due instead of what was written... ~Qui Shentavo
And in her absense, the verdict and sentense was deleivered...causing the death of one, and the sentence of a living hell for the other. She knew he would never forgive Kain. Yet she, however, overpowered her son. Her word was final.
The sire is the only one with control over a fledgling. The ONLY one, and through bloodlines the bond is greater. Dare you exact your anger upon my fledgling, you exact my anger upon my son. Enoch is a sacred language not meant for cursing. It is a language of the light, and you speak such words through your mouth and say you do the right thing. For a split second Qui, you remind me of an inquizitor. ~*~Ravelyn Shentavo
And yet there was something else that may had driven his hatred toward Kain. Azari, his former fiance, had claimed right and guidance of Kain, to at which time, he could do nothing about. And he accepted the truth of the succubus;a concubine of Mephistopheles. "What would the angel say? *the devil wants to know."
Don't listen to that angel Kain. Her words are twisted and meaningless. You do not need her or them. I will fight by your side Kain...Let me act as your sire should have. ~Azari Desurey
And in the end...she never had a chance to speak with him. She had been so caught up in what lay ahead, that she forgot about what was left behind. Two days, however, is not a long time to get everything in order. She never wanted to beleive that he could ever be led into Azari's corruption. There was a reason she was exiled...a very good reason that she never told him.
Her words are like an addicting poison. Every day you crave more...every day, a part of you dies from her vile intoxication...~Qui Shentavo
However, Azari's words lay in dust without a trace of her remains; killed by the hand of the same man whom had laid his curse upon Kain.
Rave had been restless for quite some times, if not over Michael (which was a lot of it), then over what she had never finished...or what she had. Many a times did she try to reach him...but he never responded, as if he were out of touch, and the bond had been severed between them. It wasn't until one day....
Kain... The sun set upon the horizon, hiding from the black night that followed on it's heels. The harsh wind tossled her auburn hair, and blew it back from her face. Her crimson eyes looked out upon the stars forming within the sky.
....Kain... The soft grass brushed against her skin as the blades were blown back like scythes. Her black boots crushed the blades as she stood in the field.
Come to me, Kain... Trees lay the circumference around her with a radius of a mile. It was a clear night , but the coldness decreed the right of terrorizing those foolish enough to be out in it.
...wake up Kain... The cold didn't seem to bother her. She was one. She was two. She was all, yet none of him. Her change, he did not know of yet. What would his reaction be to the devil of an angel, standing there...calling to him without a means of defending herself; in the sense of weapons.
Hear me as you used to...Come to me Kain...
Blood was thicker than water, right?
Shall calls Kain.
I know damn it.
Get up.
....
Get up Kain.
Very well. Time to confront her.
Kain got up from lying upon his bed. He had not been asleep. He was not allowed such respite for sleep. His mind was too active with the past, retracing his steps. Re-walking those vital moments where a single choice could have changes him life.
Make her alive....
But Kain had no more tears. He had shed them all. Only a bitter memory of shame....and resentment of self. Kain got up, as his bound demon commanded him to do. Although Kain if he really wanted to, go back to lying down. But the Brightblade was useful to Kain, as it was torturing by keeping him here. Kain damned it, as did the Brightblade for having this situation. Netiher enjoyed the other, but was content with thier own needs. Well...the demons needs at least. Kain only wanted oblivon now, peace from that pain. Those memories.
Of Daniella...
Kain got up and looked from his island. The welcome sight of death greated him, the spectres of the grim apparations before his eyes bid his a mockery of a morning. Or was it morning? Kain could not tell. It was the same grey dusk which it was everyday. That sphere in the sky was just a blank disc, he could could only tell it was day to others by the subtle differences in the world. Well, there were few in this completely death filled island.
Kain closed his eyes, but when he did, only images of his past haunted him. But it was a dull pain, a blunt one which hamred him, yet Kain and the Brightblade endured it.
What are you going to say to her?
I know exactly what. My heart. My mind. My soul. See what Qui has done. See what she has done. Done to me. Done to Daniella!
You plan on killing her?
Kain?
I do not know. I simply....don't know anymore.
And so Kain left the island, with barely a trace, but for a flicker of magic and the guidance of the wind.
---
Kain arrived rather unspectaculary, yet for Rave it was remarkable enough. Even Kain putting one cloven foot upon the same grass as she was, sent ripples of realisation to her. Kain had changed dramaticly.
He seemed like nothing of his past self. He seemed someone who was not one.....but two! She felt it, Kain knew she did. The Brightblade around him, talking to him, sustaining him, a small part of him.
Yet she could not detect where the physical presance was....yet the presance was there from that demon. She could smell it, she ould sense it as easily as she saw Kain.
Kain stood, not proud, not ashamed. He meerly looked at Rave. Nothing. Nothing but those haunting eyes of his. Those eyes which brown oceans had been happy. Seen life. Seen love for himself, Rave, his clan, his people.
Daniella.
But now there would a different titanic ocean which ebbed and crashed. One told of unimaginable pain. Rave looked into those eyes...
Kain simply bowed slowly, and could be seen that it was something of a mockery of what he would have down. When Kain arose, he simply said synically.
"Sire."
The word was harrowing, for Kain obviously paid her no alliegance. Paid the Shentavos nothing. They had abandoned him, put him this fate. Put her into that grave!

As Kain came closer, there was something about Rave that didn't fit into place...it was her sure enough...but...
Her hair was a light auburn, as it had been black. Her skin was darker (yet still fair), and not completely white. There were no white wings upon her back. And there were no fangs that she once possessed. She had changed. Her crimson eyes...however, had always been the same, meeting his glare head on.
The wind swept her hair back. He could tell she had come alone...there was no one for miles. "If you want to kill me," Ravelyn said, her voice hauntingly melodic, "then do it."
She walked toward him, a wave of heat instead of the freezing cold. "I had no juristiction over what my son did. I was dead, if you can recall that, I was not in this nation...but in another realm past the barrier. But once the curse was placed, only one type of person could remove it; one with a direct blood link to the one whom placed it, and of course the heritage."
She was inches from him, no weapons, no means of defense. What had happened to him. What had happened to her?
"I never meant any of this to happen to you. I never did. Daniella's death...yes I know Kain...is not upon my hands. I was never the one that cursed you...nor would I have brought it to that degree. Let me take it from you...But if you still blame me..." She threw her hands up in the air. "Send your blade through my heart...see what you can accomplish. Go ahead..."
Love;concern for the others intrest over self interest...
Kain looked at Rave, and as an enormous act of definace, a completely change of character from his old respectful self; he pushed her aside. He did not even look at her, he walked past, not accepting her touch, or offer of help. He did not care for the Shentavo's help anymore. Not after this.
Truelly, Kain had changed. Kain looked away from Rave, looking for Qui. As he spoke, he remained totally calm, only his clear voice of accusation, and conscience of Rave would be his weapon to her.
"Do not be absurd. Killing you would only achieve preventing you from creating more people like that bastard Qui. You never meant or responcible for any of this to happen, fair enough you where not here. But you are here now Rave. What of Qui? If you say that this was unfair, unjust than what have you done to do to set it right hmmm? Does the parent should they discover thier child has done is wrong in thier abscance, should they not punish the child? How has Qui justified such an action? Such torture of myself and her, what have you done to Qui? Lesser men have died for crueler action, let alone a simple lesson! Which by any judge of the Shentavo lessons that I have been handed, are either non-existant or cruel so I would not be suprised the former has been done to your precious son. Why do I speak to you? Where is that bastard Qui? He is the one responcible as you say, and justice will be done, wheter you care to help me or not, or even try to stop me." Kain said, not looking back at Rave. He meant every word. He was prepared to kill Rave, even though he did not want to. He knew of the good that she had done. But this mother was blind to her sons cruelity.
Kain's voice was steady all through this. Not a flicker of emotion came from him, only his deep voice which had no longer his respect to Rave.

"QUI WAS NOT MY CHOICE!" She yelled at him, her voice cutting with emotion. When she realized what she said, her tone quieted. In all her years that had never slipped her mouth, and now it did; to Kain. Explaination was inevitable.
"I was taken as an angel...weak from travel and the torture from my creators. I had no defense against him...and latter I was taken under the embrace after Qui was born; also against my will. It was when my studies and training can to a high when I was able to fight back...and I did." her voice was soft, yet every word was able to be heard. "That's where the darker part of me came from...and that is why it is invoked in him. Something created from an act of darkness can only create darkness...and when darkness over comes light; the result is multiplied."
She turned him around to face her, and he saw the fire within her eyes. "You think it is easy to live every day knowing what he did...and what he has done! You think I never raise my hand against him?! I do every day. I keep him in check. But when I am not present...he can to terrible things...things I would not wish upon anyone."
She observed him, a rage building inside of her. "Have you forgotten everything I had told you? When I first gave you the option...and even the small time I was able to teach you of what I know? Have you forgotten what we were back then? I was your sire...I did not force you into the embrace like my sire did. I did not force you to do anything you had no mind to do. You've changed Kain. That's obvious. Some ways for the better...but I fear you have changed some for the worst. You are so cold hearted now."
"I see it in your eyes your rage...yet still hostility and coldness toward me. I see every bit of it. And past your intent toward me, I'm trying to help you. Let me remove the curse from you Kain..."
Kain refrained from her touch, his own fury building, justification ringing in his voice, his deep voice becoming shaded with emotion of the memories. He stared into Rave's eyes, he barely controlled himself, his talons clenched and unclenched.
"Cold-hearted? Well, when you consider that I have nothing to be warm to, all the warmth I have touched it has flickered and died, or has shown me more pain. I have simply become what your clan's lessons, life's lessons to me, if you can call this mockery of an existance life. No, I do not scorn the vampiric unlife you gave me, but the existance that I am in now, it is not worth existing, yet I am bound by obligation. I care nothing for you now, although you are a good person who has should me kindness. But you have shown me confusion. You call me cold-hearted? Then what of the advice to me, when I was frawt with self-doubt after being exiled. That I should not have sired Daniella....for my love was "Selfish"! I release now that you were patronising me, I loved her with all my being, and still do. And she loved me. What would you have of me? What would Qui have of me? Let her leave this world when I could save her? Watch those pleading eyes before me, as I saw when she starved before me! Watch them beg for my mercy, for my embrace as she had found true life, true purpose. Call me cold-hearted? Please. I would be more so if I had followed your damn code. Please, I know that some laws are inflexible, that love is more important than these damned rules, for they harm the ones they were meant to protect!" Kain was rising his own fury against Rave.

"You finally get it!" She smiled brightly. "For once in someones lifetime one of them has finally gotten it!" She chuckled slightly. She knew Kain would not see this as a laughing matter...but she found a reason to. Bravo... she thought to herself. "I told you merely what you needed to here to realize the truth. You just took them the wrong way. Love; concern for the other's intrest over your own. It does not mean yeilding everything...it does not mean that you can't be selfish. Every one is always interested in their well being, don't get me wrong. I wasn't patronizing you Kain."
She paused momentarily, looking toward the sky. "Love is more important then a code...i agree. Things would have been different if I had been here. But you can't change the past...I wish I could." She mentioned nothing of Vaughns death what so ever. "I have lost a person i loved as well...there was a time I was so angry...that I would kill anyone I thought was responsible. But quickly, I realized it won't make a difference...and.." A tear fell from her eye. "They don't want to see you like that. They don't want to see you raise your daughter alone..." and there came the mention of Sarah; one of complete contrast to Qui. "They just want to see you happy."
"You may rise against me Kain. You may cross your blade with mine. But the love I had and still have for him burns through me even though he is gone. He gives me strength every day to stand. I miss him...oh God do I ever. Every day i think if it were different, would we still be together?"
He never liked to see me cry. He never liked to see me defeated, or upset. All he wanted to know is that I was safe and that I could still smile inspite of it all. she thought to herself.
"It's hard to fufill their wishes...my heart is torn in two...but I still go on. i'm not driven my my anger that exists now...I'm driven by my eternal love to him....even if I never see him again."
Kain was stunned. This.....this was.....all a....test? Kain recoiled in horror, his mind would not believe it. The demon was shocked too, although it did have suspicions of this.
Kain stepped back a few steps....as if been dealt a physical blow. His mouth was slightly open, his body shook. Kain's mind was reeling from this relevation.
For once in his life Kain had no words to say. The jigsaw of his ideas, of his plans, of is existance, of what all this meant.....was shattered, and reformed. Kain was slowly putting it back together.
Kain fell to his knees, closing his eyes. This was too much. Tears escaped his eyes, the reason unknown. Confusion with his emotions, the extremes that he had been feeling, all turned upside down.
"To.....to what extent....was....this test done Rave? When had this all begun....was....was it just you?" Kain almost whispered, his body feeling drained and cold. Only shock filled his voice

"My doing?" she asked, drawing her hair back from her eyes with her hand. "...no, Kain. There was someone greater than me at work. I am merely a queen in a game of chess; able and ready to lead, but in the end, the king was the one behind it all. i'm not going to preach to you of God. If I were going to do that, I would be a preacher. I'm not going to tell you what does and doesn't exist, because you can figure it out on your own."
She walked toward him. "This was not my test...but yes...it was a test. A distorted reality. Qui, however, was not supposed to curse you in the manner that he did...I was supposed to be the one who did, however I had unconveiniantly fallen in love, for the King it was unconvieniant, for me it was life after death. Eternity didn't seem quite as long then... This put the King in quite a predicament at least. He had to look after my life and ensure me a safe passage back to this world...and manage with the peices he had left. He had many pawns, but only one knight able to exact the right move at the right time. He didn't execute it correctly though."
She drew her hands to her lips. "Every move you make, you do so for a reason. You're not predestined...right? That would be foolish. You're choices make your destiny. Trace it back Kain. I offered you the gift of the embrace. You took it. You lived. Think of the conversatiosn we had, the words that were exchanged of teachings and life. Then think of Daniella. You had a choice, you choose to give her the gift I had given you. Then you were cursed, Qui had made a choice to uphold a code. Then you were put under many battles...many fights...many trials. It was your crucible. You made many choices then. When Azari asked if she could be of assistance, you accepted her. You made a choice. She tainted some of you, even if you can't see it. I sense the darkness within your voice. You can trace it all the way till when I met you in Velmora. And Jarrid...think of all the decisions you made. But you made them for a reason. Take one of those choices out of line...and trace it to what could have happened. It is no matter, for it can not happen for it is in the pass. Every movement you make affects you in the future. Every day of your existance is filled with choices that could change your future. You chose Kain...I am a guide."
Kain remained upon his knees, weeping slowly. He looked at the floor, his mind a vortex of ideas...emotions which where being defined. Arguments, retorts swimming, trying to find floatation in this new rush of ocean of revelation.
She lies Kain. She lies! You chose the choice to defy that destiny, chose me! I saved you from that destiny! I did! the demon hissed, knowing that the next event could destroy it. Kain could detect the desperation and fear within the demon's impossibly deep voice.
Kain gripped onto his head, trying to find reason within this illogic. He slowly looked at each fragment of his past....each choice. The shattered window, in the shards, Kain looked up and saw the reflection of himself, the shard cutting his hand but teaching him lessons. Of what events really transpired. Every choice. Every choice that he made!
But one piece.....one piece was misty....Kain could not grasp at it. It was blurred, and not completely there. Kain grew frustrated....he wanted this last shard, then this window would make sense! Then.....he realised. The demon was acting against him!
You owe me my freedom Kain! You owe it to me! I saved you! You chose to make that vow with me, to save yourself through me!
But with those words....they made the final shard tangible. Kain's eyes were open.
"But then, what separates us from each other? I chose this! I chose all of this to happen! You are no different from me in the power we have in our destiny! You have deceived me, clouded my mind from the truth! Anyone can change their destiny, for destiny is effected by choice! And I choose now, to renounce you. Something I should have done a long time ago demon!" Kain said out loud, his voice no onger contained in his head. A blade appeared in his hand.....the Brightblade.
Again he saw the surface of the blade, he had never summoned it in this way before. The blade was struggling for control, it writhed in his hand, the demonic blade filling his head with it's voice.
"You owe me your word Kain! You vowed to release me in exchange for killing the Seer! Killing Jarrid! You will become like them!"
"You lured me into submission, slavery! You have clouded my mind, made my existence hell! I want no more of this demon!"
Kain tried to release his hand from the blade, he tried to throw the Brightblade away....yet it's grip was too strong upon him. Kain felt the strange sense of vertigo....as though the world was being sucked in around him, his mind became clouded....only the will which said to his body, his soul "Survive! Fight!"
"If I am to die Kain! SO WILL YOU!" The Brightblade bellowed into Kain's mind.
The Brightblade was pointed at him. Kain felt his soul being tugged...the two where in competion....the demon and the vampire. Kain felt the absence of the Brightblade's company, and it chilled him more than it's presence ever had. A foreboding sense of emptiness and loss stole over Kain....and a terrible revelation gathering like a storm at the edge of his awareness.
He is going to devour my soul!
Kain was still upon his knees, the edge of the Brightblade with it's old mind. Kain felt the hunger once more...the ravenous hunger of need feeding for ages gone....He moaned....he could not resist it...he was too weak....darkness was becoming him....
And he felt absolute agony become him. Before Rave could react or help Kain, the Brightblade tore into his body, impaled by this beast.
And thus....the Brightblade was attempting to destroy and devour his soul! A last act of rage and torture to Kain! Kain wept as he felt the curved Brightblade within him, the silver surface completely blue hell fire, the skull handle coming alive, laughing at Kain. Kain wept hot tears of frustration...it could not end like this!
Kain was losing consciousness...feeling the ravenous hunger of the Brightblade.....looking as he saw his soul being leeched from it's bearings. He was close to being devoured. As Kain neared the brink of oblivion, a fluttering distortion of reality came to Kain....and he forced himself to do one final monumental act of will. All he could do was whisper feebly, as his last act of willpower;
"Rave save me!"

It took seconds for the demonic hybrid to put the peices of the puzzle together. Rave, save me... His voice echoed through her mind. She reached her hand up toward the sky, and the stars sparkeled over head. A white hot electricity surged within her hand, and sparked, igniting into a white flame. Her body dropped to the ground, and the flame burned, shrowding Kains veiw. As it flickered away, Kain could see...an angel...no...a seraphim.
Ravelyn looked at the brightblade and to Kain. Her body lay on the ground...but her power lay within her soul. Her presense was bright, and the white almost blinding to the eye. Her auburn hair twisted in soft loose curls and fell down her back to meet brilliant white wings that spread out in full. Her skin was fair and flawless. Her pink lips were glossy with moisture from the air, and her soft amber eyes fell upon Kain.
"Behold demon," she said to the demon within the brightblade. She was a light so bright that the sun would have sheilded it's eyes, and the night would have scattered away. This was her true form...it had never been seen before with the exception of Vaughn. Not even her own son, nor daughter, nor family, nor enemy...had ever witnessed this presence in the physical realm before. And even then, Vaughn had only been shown within his mind, never to the blind eye. Her eyes turned completely white, yet she glared at the proceedings. A silver metal twisting in tendrils was set upon her head, a brilliant white jewel within the center.
She placed her hand upon Kain's forhead, an overwhelming presense sweeping over him from her touch. It was one of healing, though it was not dependant on her concentration. "You hold no grounds in this realm demon. Release his soul, or I shall take yours to your judgement."
Kain.. he heard within him, simultaneously as she was speaking. Hold on...look towards the light...
The demon roared in defiance. This could not end like this! It continued at it's unholy meal, devouring Kain's soul as his body became in more torture.
Kain as he pleaed hopelessness came over him. He continued to weep, as he felt unbelievably cold.....then parts of him felt extreme burning, as he entered the demon's being. Kain screamed, yet it was a silent scream, he was losing ocntorl of his physical body. But he heard...echoing and as if he was underwater....
"Look into the light...."
Kain forced himself...as the last action he took, to open his eyes. It took all of his will, he fought the gnashing teeth which threatened his very existance, fouoght them and claimed one last action. He opened his eyes, and he saw. He saw the most wonderous sight in all of his existance. He saw her....all glorious in that light and abundance of life. Kain's tears contnued to flow from him, but this was of joy of this sight.
The demon felt it. pain which it had not felt for millenia. The same pain which was used to trap the demon. It lost control and howled in bitter defeat. It could not release itself from the physical world! Th two souls, Kain's and the demon's where coiled around each other, locked together as the demon continued on..but was blinded by the pain. It was a deadlock between the two. The demon would not release itself, for if it did, banishment would become it, even though it could gain no more ground due to that burning punishing light! It tortured his mind, it battered it with cold justice that pierced that black armour of his. Yet the demon knew the alternitive was far worse.
Rave....take.....it...out! Kain whispered into her mind. It was the only option. The final act. There could be no other way. The risk would be monumental, the two souls where fighting each other for competion, Kain trying to free himself from that horrible embrace. It had to be done, there was no other option.
Yet what would happen?

"Demon," she addressed it. "You hold no power over him, and none in this realm. Look at me..." Her voice was soft, yet powerful. It was one...it was two... "You will hold nothing over him. I draw you from him."
She passed her hand to the Brightblade, grasping it over Kain's hand. Her white eyes met Kain's. Dont' turn your gaze from me Kain...
(sorry...must leave for work.)
She attempted to banish the demon. Indeed, the demon was in agony, and would have chosen oblivon ovver this. Yet...oblivion was not on offer here. More of the same agonising torture. More of this same punishment. The demon in self-discipline and knowing the torment that would await him, held fast. Held fast to Kain.
The two were horribly embraced. Kain, not being wholly devoured due to Rave's light....and the demon not able to move another inch in consuming Kain. It was a stalemate....a agonising stalemate. Kain felt himself within the sword....and within his own body! It was a sickening experiance, his mind was being forced to understand. He felt himself as the demon....the demon felt himself as he. The two were in places merged...half devoured, within the other.
Kain was confused. The demon did not care. All the demon knew was to hold on. Hold on to the one thing which was preventing him from being banished. Or worse...
Kan forced himself to continue to look into that beautiful sight of Rave. It was his only hope, and the demon's worst fear....it terrorfied it to the center of it's being, and Kain detected it. Oddly, in some way he felt a glimmer of fear too from Rave, yet....why would he be?
Kain did not understand, but during the demon meal of his soul, the two currently in parts of thier tangled embrace, one which coiled in a unbreakable knot, had shared parts of each other. Kain was simply experiancing some of the demon's feelings....as was the demon experiancing Kains. Yet it knew what to expect. Kain did not.
Kain continued to look, feeling the Brightblade being gripped. The demon did too. They did not know what was going to happen. Unparrelled tension between the two....this....this was nothing they could predict. Nothing they prepare for. Nothing like this had occoured ever in history.
They both braced themselves for whatever fate would come....for it was not possible to say.
Who would survive?

"I don't think so," she said strongly toward the demon. Any bond formed between two individuals could be broken...unfortunately, she knew this first hand. "Demon, you know what will happen if you stay in this body. Now I'm not a very scientific woman, but let's have a go at it, shall we? If you remain attatched with Kain, both the physical and spiritual realms will have to except you. First of all, the spiritual realm will except you, because you are a being. The physical realm is a little more complex. If you stay with Kain boy, his body will react as it was a mutual agreement before. You will be driven from his body that way. Beleive me...when I had sired Kain...he took in some of my blood right? If you taint it with your presense long enough, you will be terminated. "You can remove yourself from him and have a chance of your existance, of course in a different world. However, if you do not get out of his body, you will be taken into oblivion. And beleive me...if you do not take my advice, I will make your existance within him a living hell...surpassing anything you ever knew of pain." She slowely slipped her hand under Kain's during this time, grasping the brightblade.
The demon was maddened by this. He heard her voice, hear it ring clear with logic. But logic had gone out of the picture right now. The demon was blinded by revenge, extremely uncharacteristic of a demon, blinded enough to forget logic.
Kain heard Rave. He heard what she said. He did not know what to make of it.
The demon held fast, desperately trying to devour more of Kain's essance, but for all of it's screams within Kain, all of it did it no good. It could get no further, due to that damned wall of light!
The Brightblade was aglow with cold blue flame, which radiated from it. TO lesser beigns, the surface would have been impossible to touch, but Rave knew what it was. Knew the nature of the beast.

She spoke without words passing through her lips, but not to Kain...to the demon. You cross paths with a seraphim, demon. In that she exposed the truth....why the light was so blinding. Without hesitation, she clutched the brightblade, and spead her great wings, using the strong force to pulll it from Kain. This was a physical link for the demon...she needed to remove it from his possession.
Kain...hold strong...do not leave me now. Release your hand. Find the strength within you...look at me.
Her white eyes were settled upon him. Her slender hand was indefinately clutched upon the blade...but there was something in her other hand as well...
Kain's hand slowly left the hilt of the unholy weapon, allowing himself no resistance to the demon. He did it due to those eyes of Rave, that strength which she lent him. He left hismelf under to complete efforts of Rave.....with her his existance would continue or end. Be damned or saved.
But Kain saw something in her other hand....what was it Kain wondered...yet the thought escaped him.
He gritted his teeth, and prepared for the blade to be removed totally from him, that curved cold blade impaling him. The demon realised it's folly....yet it was too late.

Rave gripped the blade, seemingly cold to her. She pulled it out slightly, and placed her left hand upon the blade while her right held the hilt. With a A quick and clean sweep, the blade was pulled from Kain's body, but as it did so, it cut her hand. The moment the blade was lifted from the skin, she placed her hand, slashed across the center upon the wound as her blood flowed into his. It was the blood of her soul, of her existance. It brought light...not a physical one, but an inner one.
The brightblade was grasped tightly in her right hand. The blue flame seemed to be overcome by a white hot fire.

(OOC T-gram coming)
The Brightblade exited Kain' body, and his body and mind convulsed. His eyes became dialated from the sheer shock to his system, his body became taut, strained under such a monumental action had just taken place.
The Brightblade, as it slid away, held parts of Kain within it! The demon felt the same thing, the utter confusion within it. The puzzle had been broken in two.
The demon soon understood. Now...in this shattered form, Rave could easily destroy it. It screamed as similtaunously, it's soul was burnt from it's bearings upon the blade, and upon Kain by that white fire! Unimaginable pain befell the demon as it cursed the darkest curses, yet it was no use. The demon was under the mercy of Rave, she would decide it's fate now.
Yet Kain's....Kain was shattered at this point. Fragments of his soul, co-existing with nothing within the sword and his body, floated around mindless. Kain had no control, he had lost all thought. He was no longer here as such. He was split in two, between his own body and the sword.
Kain continued to convulse, his mouth open in a silent scream as his arms tried to reach out for that clean blade now which held him. The wound which had been there from the Brightblade, faded, leaving a dark scar upon it.....yet would the wound of his soul ever be healed? Could it ever be mended?
The sword, now empty of the demon was now strangely possessed by Kain. Under some eerie instinct, they wished to be together, the two broken parts of one soul wishing to join. The sword was warm to Rave's touch and retained it old silver quality, as it tried to go towards Kain.
Rave wondered with horror, could Kain survive this? Could his soul ever be repaired? It was something that she did not know, it was something that Kain alone had to see....

"I don't think so," she said grasping the blade. She raised it above her head. *Menaloia excepte chibat suu i jala rowtha A white light passed over the blade. She looked at Kain, and she knew what she had to do. Without hesitation, she placed the blade within his hand, demon of no concern to her.
The seraphim part of her, only revealed to Kain...and most probably always will be, held something deep within it that she did not know she possessed. The end, it was supposed to be her destiny, right? Had she not already overcome it? Had she not been brought back by...
But there was something else for the seraphim; a sleep. An unbreakable...everlasting sleep.
(sorry...need to see reaction to this to finish my post.)
(OOC sounds good)
Kain's hand went over the sword, and held it with both. Rave could see and sense Kain's soul within the blade coil around his hand lovingly, as did his soul within his body, a blue whispering spirit. It was strange...Kain's face smiled and whispered a few words as his face became calm and peaceful, those eyes of his no longer held that pain, that torment, that death which he had constantly seen.
"Thank you Wise One." Kain whispered, as he closed his eyes. The last sight Kain saw before he fell into that wonderful nothing of peace, was that beautiful sight of Rave....
Of life again...
Kain was smiling as he lay upon that grass, surronded by the life which he had protected and not seen for so long, his hand around that silver sword, which no longer had it's menacing intent to it. Kain was completely in calm, his breathing was shallow.
Kain drifted into a coma.....his mind slowly trying to repair his damaged soul.
It began to rain slightly, and birds sang thier joyful songs in the trees around them, and the trees hummed along with the wind as it cradled them. It was a pleasant rain, one which uplifted the soul. It was simply fitting.
Daniella loved the rain

The vision of the seraphim Azrael vanished in the physical realm. Rave wearily pushed herself up with her hands. Dirt spread across her exposed skin from when she had fallen. Her auburn hair fell before her crimson eyes. Strips of leather still were wrapped upon her knuckles and leading up her wrist. Slowely, she lifted herself from the ground, and felt weak. The hybrid walked over to Kain, and she bent her head in acknowledgement.
The half demon lifted him from the ground in her strong arms, and began to walk with him from the feild. It started to rain, and it harshly fell upon her exposed shoulders. She looked up to the sky, welcoming it never the less. And he would be the only person who knew...
To the academy then... she thought softly to herself, and continued on.
Kain was carried to the acadamy, his mind still engulfed in that blackness. He was floating....floating in nothing. He had no thoughts, no presance, no memories at this point. It was just peaceful...yet nothing.

(Cut to academy thread for physical whearabouts. however, keep all things in the mind such as dreams and memories here..)
Kain drifted...
He was floating....
Kain did not have a thought, he just drifted forever as though he was upon a vast endless ocean.
Nothing within his mind.
No memories, no thoughts, no vices, no virtues. Nothing.
This continued forever. But something changed.
Kain was on grass now.
Cool green grass. He heard the wind chuckle around him, as they played with the leaves of the trees, tickling them so that they joined in thier laughter. Kain smiled, and opened his eyes.
Endless blue, filled with lazy white, centered around a warm circle of yellow.
Home
Kain knew that. This was home. This was where he lived. He was a child, simply looking at the sky.
Another word, first alien, but slowly as he stared comprehension came in.
Velmora
Yes. This is where I live.
Kain sat up, and he was sitting in a vast grassland, with trees dotted around. He was a child, with his youthful hands. Kain looked at his hands.
Hands.
Fingers.
Yes. This is right. This is were is began. It all began. Was it?
Was it?
Yes.
Yes this was were it began. Here. Here in Velmora, my home.
Kain's youthful body, humaniod in appearance. What was his race? The word was like a snowflake within a fiery grip, it melted away as soon as he tried to grasp it.
What is my race's name? What am I?
Kain thought about it, the child thinking hard about it. He placed his hand upon his chin, trying to remember. All he could remember that this was home, and his name.....name was Kain. Yes.
Kain Brightblade.
"That is my name. Kain....Kain Brightblade." the child said to himself. And the child was no longer nameless. It knew it's name.
The words seemed foreign somehow, yet Kain soon found the name to fit the space within his mind.
Yet the name of his race eluded him, escaped him. Kain shrugged and got up, feeling the grass beneth his feet. He looked down.
Strange...why am I wearing robes? These white robes?
He felt the matieral, it was so warm and soft, it has silver around the edges of it. There were runes upon it, they meant something Kain could tell, but the words were a riddle, it hurt his mind to try and unlock thier secrets.
"P....peace...."Kain said...the word was not complete. It had something to do with the robe. What the robe meant. What it meant for him. For Velmora.
Kain looked around for long seconds, feeling that cool wind and warm touch of the sun upon his youthful cheek. He closed his eyes and smiled. He liked this place. This place was safe. This place was pretty.
He opened them again, and looked at his hands once more. They were more aged, yet still young. A teenager. He still wore the same robes, yet they were bigger. He was bigger. A voice sounded behind him.
"Kain! There you are!" a male voice sounded from behind him. Kain knew the voice, he smiled when he heard it. He knew it well.
Kain turned, his robes giving a whooshing sound as they did so, his feet feeling the grass in his sandles.
He saw someone older than him. 16? Yes....that person who called for him was 16. How much older than he?
....
....
2 years.
Was that right?
Yes. Yes it was. That piece seemed to fall into place.
Kain was about to reply, yet he did not know who this person really was. Someone he cared about yes. But who?
Time froze for everyone except Kain. The birds stopped mid-flight, leaves ceased to fall, and that person before him stopped.
Kain looked at this person. Looked at his clothing.
He was wearing clothing similer to himself. Yet it was different. He was wearing one which had bronze lining.
No. Try again.
That was incorrect. That person did not wear that. He was not like him. He was different.
Armour?
Yes. Armour. He was wearing armour. Silver chain-mail.
The description seemed to fall into place, and the person before Kain gained shape and form, he wore that tight silver chain mail, with...brown cloth around it.
Yes, another piece fell into place. But what was his name?
Kain thought about it. He thought really hard and long about it. He knew this person.
He looked at the runes upon that armour. Looked at what he had on his hand.
A ring.
That ring.....it had a rose upon it.
Kain now knew who it was. It was B'jorn his brother.
Incorrect.
The piece did not fit. No...B'jorn was not his brother....but he was close. A freind. A very good freind, almost like brothers. Yes, that was correct. This person was close, yet not family, although it could have been mistaken for.
If he was family, he would wear something else. Why would that be? Kain couldn't tell.....something told him, to walk before he could run.
Time resumed. Kain replied happily, "Hello there B'jorn."
Yes. That is what happened. The older young man in front of him smiled. He said something, something which made a wooden sword appear in his hand.
They talked about nothing, Kain could not hear the words. But a staff appeared in his hand. One which was plain, and something told him that he could use it. Yes....he could use it rather well.
Without a thought, driven by instinct, Kain attacked, although it was in training. B'jorn fought with Kain, both dueling. They were young still, their attacks still inexperianced...yet skillful for thier age. Someone watched.
Who?
It did not matter. But there was something of pride coming from...them. Yes them.
The two exchanged attacks, Kain conversing with B'jorn as they fought.
Smack! Smack! Smack!
The two collapsed. From sheer fatigue, the two were equal. They lied down together, in that cool grass, bathing in that sun. Then they began to laugh for the moment was one of happiness. They laughed and laughed. That is when they became more than freinds, they became brothers in reality. They were as good as brothers then.
Kain smiled. That made sense. He continued to laugh.
A memory unlocked, something of what made him, him was founded. Yet there was far more.
This place faded under the laughter...and he continued to float....float as this teenager.
(OOC yes, just put Kain in a bed or something, you decide his physical location, but I think anyone who wishes to visit or whatever should come into this thread. It will make things easier.)
Kain floated for some time.
"Yes. That is who I am. That young boy....in my homeland Velmora." Kain said, his voice filling the endless nothing.
The world rushed from him again, filled with a new sight.
War.
Destruction.
He was older now. 20...staring into this great chaos around him. Flames, demons, war, civil war!
Velmora was in chaos! In his hand he held a silver staff, a great legion behind him. B'jorn was by his side, his great silver claymore within his plated hand. They both looked at each other grimly, knowing what had occoured.
They were underground, the entire place which was so abundant with life, burning, destroyed by....by something else. A disregard for an ability.
Channeling. The power that his race had. The Psi had. The ability to borrow nature's life essance and weave it into spells. The effect of channeling was awesome displays of power, yet wounds upon the earth. It harmed life around the user, a wound which would reqire the user to heal the land for some time afterwards. Yes...this is what had been disregarded. The wounds had not been healed by this dark army!
Xzar's army!
Floods of memories entered Kain's mind.
Where had this begun?
This was the aftermath of something....something.....something.....in the past of course. Look to the past.
Kain closed his eyes to this confused destruction. Looked back to what had caused this, to see who Xzar was.
The sounds of burning left his ears, the sounds of brays from that unholy army left....drowned out by the silence of the void.
Where had this begun from?
Kain found himself floating wondering for some time....about what had just happened. Who was this Xzar?
Then...something twinged within him.
Xzar was a freind. Was at least. A parent of somesort....a kind at least. A mentor yes....yes that was it.
"Kain!" a deep voice said behind him.
Kain opened his eyes.
He was standing in a great room, a great marble room, one which was cool and refreshingly calm. It had a blue theme, and the soft sound of trickling water was around him. The lighting was blue also, it was like a arctic cave. There stood a man, wearing white robes. Like his own yet elaborate and wonderous.
It had gold lining around it, it was graceful and seemed to have a life of it's own. A symbol was upon the back of his cloak, a sword bathed in light, pointed upwards. It was no ordinary cloak Kain realised..rather a Cloak. A magical entity which his people used, thier close advisors and freinds, spirits from the other realms who willingly served and in many cases, became close friends. Kain seemed to remember having one.....but that was in the future. He was still wearing his own white robes with silver lined around it.
The....old man was holding a staff, one which a blue cystal on top. He was facing...facing a door. He was in the center, calling for Kain to attend his words.
"Kain." He called again, calmly.
Kain, now 18 instead of 20 walked towards this familer man, yet he did not know him fully. He was a parent.
Incorrect. Look deeper and find the truth.
No. Not a parent. A guardian of some sorts. A teacher. A mentor in the ways of life. Of his responcibilties.
Kain knew that he would have many responcibilities. He was desinted for something great, something which was a huge responciblity.
But what? But he was getting ahead of himself again, he walked towards this wise and calm figure again, he tried to make his footsteps quiet in this place, it was holy, and the silence was eerie. He did not want to disturb it, he liked the sound of water rushing about them. It was wonderful, Kain felt that inner peace once more, which he treasured.
He walked up to the man's side, and looked up to see him.
The figure he realised was Xzar. That old man, he cared for him. Xzar looked down at Kain and his face became warm.
Xzar had grey hair, his face was one of infinate patience, his face seeming to be carved from stone in perfection. He went about everything with infinate slowness and perfection. Kain saw that he wore silver chain mail, with a plate in the center with the same emblem upon his back.
Kain realised that symbol was his family symbol. He looked to the sleeves of his robes. They bore a smaller mark of the same type. Kain looked back at this man.
The two exchanged loving looks, and then Xzar got to what he wanted to say.
"Kain, do you know what is through that door?" Xzar said softly getting on one knee to whisper to Kain, pointing with one hand to a great gold door which formed from Kain's memory. A great wonderous door of solid gold. It had various symbols upon it, the sun. The moon. A hero. Peace. Joy. Nature.
Something beautiful and wonderous was behind that door. Yet for now, kain did not know what was behind it. Kain replied in the same soft voice as Xzar did.
"No Xzar." Kain said with some wonder and mystery of a child wondering what was in treasure chest.
"Inside is your birthright. What one day you will have when I leave this world and enter the Seer."
Wait!
That word!
Time was rewound and Xzar whispered the same phrase again to Kain.
"Inside is your birthright. What one day you will have when I leave this world and enter the Seer."
"Seer."
"Seer"
That word was something monumental. Kain grasped his head in a wave of emotions. Terror, fear, joy, belonging, freindship, knowledge...and something terrible.
Slow down. One step at a time.
Yes....one step at a time.
Time resumed and Kain looked at that door not knowing what was behind it, indeed not knowing fully who the Seer was.
Xzar continued pushed Kain slightly towards the door, encouraging him.
"Go inside and go and see it Kain." Xzar whispered, and Kain took a few slow steps towards the door. His hand was shaking for some reason. It was not fear...but excitement. He had heard things. He had heard tales of what was in it, what wonderous....wonderous....what?
Open the door and see. It is simpler that way.
Yes. Yes it would be Kain reasoned agreeing.
He reached a young hand to the handle. The door was warm, it tingled to the touch. Kain pushed the door, and entered. The great goldern door closed behind him.
He was in a new room. A silent room. One of extreme holiness. Something remarkable was here. Someone.
Seer.
That word again, but Kain walked forward.
The same blue tint was in this place. Kain looked up and gasped.
This vast room had no ceiling! The spherical room just went up and up! There were indented arches, around the size of a person. In each arch there was a statue. Of someone.
Someone who has died.
A altar was in the center of this cool room. It held something...but Kain could not see. There was something, everything in the room seemed focused on it.
Kain took a few seps upwards towards the altar. He felt the marble of the altar under his hand, how cool it was.
Xzar was with im again. The opposite side of the altar, smiling at Kain.
"This place.....this place is where the Seer are. The dead spirits who give up whatever afterlife they have to come here and advise the living of Velmora. Heros they are, heros of wars. Not of violance, you know that there has not been a war within Velmora in all of history. But of peace. They are the saints of Velmora, who continue to help our home. The nation I rule, which you will when I leave."
Time froze again.
Kain made sense of the words, digesting it slowly. Yes.
He was the next ruler of Velmora. That is why he wore these robes with silver around them....and he wore gold.
The Seer. Yes...that made sense. His memory was correct of this event.
Time resumed.
"Now....something has aided me. A great weapon of peace, which had aided us for many years, all of the rulers of Velmora have used this." Xzar softly said and gestured for Kain to go closer to the alter.
"Ask them to see it." Xzar simply said quietly.
Kain got on one knees, and placed his hands together in prayer. He asked to see. He asked the Seer for help. He asked....
Seer, I humbly ask you to see this great gift, if it would be pleasing to you, and help this nation and those who I care for.
Many minutes passed, Kain kneeling praying.
"Look." Xzar whispered, and Kain got up.
He got up slowly, and looked upon what had formed at the altar.
A sword. A gleaming, wonderful sword of pure good. He was awed by it, it was like nothing he had ever seen. It was wonderous.
"Pick it up" Xzar said, encouraging the young Kain.
Kain reached out a handle over the holy long sword, the blade curved and like water, the lue light shimmering accross it. Kain waited a few moments, and then went to grip it.
"This...this is the Brightblade Kain."
Kain gripped the handle.
He screamed in the violant memories, and fell to his knees, this experiance leaving him, his mind filled with confused memories. Pain, terror, violance, blood, demons, evil, traitor! Kain screamed long into oblivion a this endurance, that dark voice filling his mind, of what he had had done, yet he did not udnerstand.
""If I am to die Kain! SO WILL YOU!"

Don't listen to it Kain... Ravelyn said as she heard bits and clips of what was being said. The rain fell down harder upon the two. Her arms began to grow tired from carrying him, but she pressed on. How she wished to possess her wings right now.
Kain plummeted down that dark and endless abyss, screaming as he did so at this attack of tortured memories. As he plummeted, he grasped his head, clsing his eyes trying to get rid of these burning images which were imprinted upon his tainted and broken soul. He continued to fall, time ceased to exist.
An eternity passed for Kain, only knowing these distorted images before his eyes, knowing that they were somehow connected to him, yet this riddle was far too complex. But a voice, a voice slowed his decent, and eased his maddness.
A gentle reassurance washed away Kain's terror, gave him guidance.
"Don't listen to it Kain..."
Kain ceased to fall, and floated once more to recollect his thoughts upon this drifting ocean of nothingness. Kain in the real world became calmer, his distress ending at her voice.
Kain tried to think what had happened.
The Brightblade.
Again that sudden rush of emotions, yet...yet it had faded somewhat. Reality and fantasy became blurred and Kain looked deep within himself for what had actually occoured, for he had not screamed like that.
No...
Silence filled the void, like a heavy blanket.
Yes. That was it. It felt cool, it felt calming. Yes, he had only gripped it for a few seconds...
"This weapon has been created by the Seer in thier collected existance within these hallowed halls." Xzar taught, showing Kain all around of the statues. Yes...each statue was a dead person, a spirit. Kain knew this. Xzar kept his voice low, his face still warm towards his pupil.
"The Brightblade has always aided us in times of need. A weapon of pure good, one which has been blessed by the Seer in thier infinate wisdom."
Wait.
Something is wrong.
Time froze as it had done before, and Kain rewound the memories before his young eyes with that cool blue chamber. He placed the Brightblade down, and played Xzar's message again.
"The Brightblade has always aided us in times of need. A weapon of pure good, one which has been blessed by the Seer in thier infinate wisdom."
Time resumed and Kain withdrew from Xzar and screamed, "You lie! That thing is evil!"
No. You did not have that knowledge at the time, but you are correct. The weapon was not as it appeared.
Time rewound and Kain remembered what actually happened. Kain and Xzar walked out in reverance and closed the door, saying a prayer to the Seer as they left, the only sound being a shuffle of robes.
Yes. That day was peaceful and filled with learning. He later learnt...
Learnt about his responcibilities. Yes.
Which where Kain?
Kain thought about it. The responcibility was great, the task which would be given to him would be monumental, only a few select people in the world did such a thing.
What lessons were I taught.
Kain opened his eyes again, jumping between different points in his life, different lessons.
At one point, he was holding a staff, channeling and casting healing spells, praised by a worried crowd. Someone was hurt...dying. Kain had healed the person, and the crowd rejoiced.
Another jump, and he was standing on top of a mountain, forming rain with Xzar upon farms down below. Kain looked at Xzar and saw pride within him, Kain was much smaller, and could only help in the action. Xzar was so powerful....
Another he was learning how to ride a dragon....to observe important points of the land. He had been with someone else then, but that question remained at the back of his mind.
One other it was logisitics. Tactics for defence in case of....war. Yet why would he learn such a thing? He learnt above governing a city, the people's needs. He remembered attending the counsils, learning how to act in them. Diplomatic ones, addressing many different topics, from jewl mining for components for spells, to crop failure due to weather manipulation. Kain learnt from these, he remembered sitting in that grand room, listinging to Xzar decide and teach him as they went through the meeting.
Yes, Kain was important. No ordinary child. A child which had something important ahead of him.
What does all of this point to Kain? Think. Comprehend.
Kain continued to lie within that calm nothingness which was safe and comforting. His mind went over it again. The answer was there, they all were. Yet he had to go through it, study it again. Like someone with a speaking disorder, the thoughts were there but the words never formed, a mish mash of nothing sounding.
Then it collided and made something. It was not a pretty picture to Kain, but it made sense. The key fitted the lock. The door opened silently, admitting Kain to take another step into his past. Into his existance.
Yes. He was going to become the ruler of Velmora after Xzar died.
Kain understood now. He was a ruler of Velmora. A general. A peacekeeper.A diplomat. A warrior of peace and nature.
Wait!
Peacekeeper!
That word, it meant something more! It.....it was a name of something.
Now that the door was open to kain, he could look into the passage beyonfd and inspect it further.
Yes. The Peacekeepers, clerics of nature and defenders of the Psi ways, the highest ranking and most powerful and honorable folk of Velmora. They were the elite, the ones who were the backbone, the one who made the decisions for the nation in it's best interests. They were warriors of light. There were other orders too, for specific roles....Kain remembered hazed of them.
Slwoly he began to remember. The orders. Waywatchers, warriors and deadly paladins, ones which kept order and did justice. Landwatchers, those who tended the lands, farmed it and healed it after channeling. Seawatchers and Skywatchers, ones who tended the weather, supply of water and various tasks. Seawatchers looked after the creatures of the sea, of any boats which would go out, while Skywatchers tended the dragons of Velmora an d were the messangers and intellegence of Velmora. There were more....but....Kain could not remember. It was far too specific.
Kain smiled and breathed out. He was successful so far.
He opened his eyes, and stared into blackness. Kain found it odd...usually a memory would come. Then he realised this was a memory. He was pinned down, everything was black around him. His legs were crushed. Nausa swept over him, he tasted the coppery taste of blood within his mouth. He was in trouble, he was in a great deal of pain. He couldn't see!
How did I get in this situation?
Backtrack.
Kain closed his eyes, not that he could see.
...
...
Kain opened his eyes once more. He saw again.
He was on top of a frozen peak, the cold air rushing around his white robes. They still had silver upon the sleeves. He was 20 now....he just knew. He breathed in this chilly air, it was glorious!
He looked down from this misty peak, and saw Velmora in all of it's wonder. It was magnificant, Kain could not help awe at it, even though he had seen it thousands of time before.
It was a vast city, one of immense beauty. It had a temple in the center, which water poured from lavishly. It acted as the main source of water, a lake running through it, so brilliant was it's design. The homes and markets around it were littered with forms of nature, great trees, bushs, wild orchards. Perfectly preserved, busy with Psi. He could sense magic constantly being woven, in day to day tasks. Kain smiled. Soon he knew he would have to tend to this....could he do it?
"Kain, are you ready? Let's go ask them." A male voice sounded behind him. Again, someone close, but it was neither Xzar or B'jorn but it was more like B'jorn's than Xzar's adult voice. Kain turned, his robes whipping about him in the strong frozen winds, as did his long black hair.
Or was it white? Pure, long white?
No, definately black Kain corrected.
Kain saw someone like himself, wearing those white robes. He was holding a staff similer to his own, with now a small white orb on top of it, with a wooden shaft, with a few runes crafted by themselves in their lessons.
This person, this person was younger than he. Brother?
Incorrect. Remember Kain? You did not have any brothers or sisters.
Yes. That was right. Not blood related anyway.
This was another close freind, one which he talked to far more, due to....due to....
Look at his robes.
Yes. Kain did so, and saw the same white robes as he wore. Well almost.
They have bronze lining around it, Kain realised.
That meant something in itself. He was like Kain, yet not. One who if he died, may have a oppertunity to take the throne, depending on his performance. There were many others who had bronze, but very few had silver, a select few for thier talents.
What set you apart from the others?
Kain wondered about it, yet could find no answer. The question itself had never been asked by Kain. Or had it? He did not know. This question was getting him no-where. Concentrate upon the now. The current memory. Answers will come.
Kain knew who this person was now. He was a good freind, one of his fellow classmates, and with a relationship between Kain which made them unique. They both were like brothers, like Kain and B'jorn, although in a different way.
"Yes, alright then Jarrid!" Kain said, rather excited, ignoring the chilling cold around him.
Jarrid nodded and turned around and walked towards a gaping cave, slanting downwards from the moutain face. It was endless...it's proportions were massive. Kain sensed something extremely powerful in there, and he began to tremble.
It could have been the cold, it could have been fear of the unknown. Kain knew what was in there, yet he did not. He continued.
Jarrid walked forward confidantly, his strides long and his staff plodding through the snow. The sun was gleaming down, warming thier skin, but it was robbed by the chilling wind as soon as it was given. They were extremely high.
Jarrid stopped at the enterance of this cave, looking in, looking for something. Sensing something. Then he said out, in a normal voice which was barely audible due to the wind,
"Kind creatures, we have come. You still are up for it aren't you?" Jarrid said hopefully, taking another step into the gloom.
Nothing but anticpation from Jarrid, and tension from Kain. The wind continued to howl, and then a almighty vibration from the floor, and vocals being moved. It was an impossibly deep groan, as if getting up form sleep. Jarrid seemed unpreturbed.
Then something massive stepped forth, filling the majority of the mouth in all of it's vastness. It was glorious! Yet Kain, in this state of unknowing wanted to flee for his life! Kain in reality became more disturbed...he began to struggle.
That thing could kill them! What was it going to do? Kain screamed as he saw that grand beast before him, in all of it's majestic and terrorfying presance!

Rave coughed slightly in the rain, as if something was strangeling her. The slash underneath her eye hurt so much, she wondered why it did not heal. If it did, it would surely leave a scar. She knew he hadn't meant the things he said... but if he did, it wouldn't make a difference in her motivations.
She saw everything that was happening...and could do nothing. She could do nothing to help. Occasionally her voice could break through. She wondered if Kain could remember whom it belonged to. If he could remember her.
Don't fear this Kain. Fear nothing...you will have a guide in due time... her voice faded out as she lost the connection. "Bloody hell..." she mumbled under her breath.
(going to be little blips in between your posts :D )
(OOC Good...I like that. Man, this is great, I have not writing like this in ages!)
It was absolutely terrorifying for Kain, and he closed his eyes and fell to his knees. The experiance washed away from him. He could not cope with that....that shadowey beast.
That conforting voice again for Kain's fears. These fears were harder to force off of himself, but he found strength within himself, with her.
Don't fear this Kain.
Fear nothing...you will have a guide in due time.
Yes. There is nothing to be fearful of. Understand what fear there is. Why you should be afraid. Assess it. Look into it's soul.
Kain opened his eyes again and got up. Time had frozen. His body was still nervous, yet he looked at this great being, and observed every small part of it. And it slowly took form, took a recognisable shape.
Kain remembered it from his studies.....his mind became that page which he had studied. This one was the largest of it's kind, a female.
http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/draco_gallery/75583.jpg
Such a wonderous creature Kain realised! It simply shimmered in that morning sun, it's eyes filled with that silver liquid, one which held silent kindness. It seemed to smile, smile at it's child who she was immensely proud of. It had great plates of silver upon it's entire body, wich was each a minature mirror. In this snowy enviorment, it seemed completely mottled white, with a pale blue river of sky upon it's back.
It seemed regal, a kind of power which only centruries can provide. It's statue was tall and massive for it's kind. Obviously, this was the head of what small pack there was.
Time resumed, and the dragon was more graceful in motion than it had been in stillness. It looked at Kain, seeing his confidant pose and young body, grasping his staff as his white robes fluttered around him, as did his long black hair.
The dragon spoke, a great female voice which was soft and taken with infinate slowness, as if time meant nothing, an unproven idea.
"Yes. They are ready young masters. My sons will accompany you." She said and turned and looked into the cave again. Two smaller dragons, teenagers in dragon terms, yet still impressively large came forth from the darkness.
Frostflash and Blizzard. Kain's mount was Frostflash, a impetous female, well tempered with Kain's discipline. She was more exuberant that her brother, Blizzard. He was larger, more calm and methodical.
Kain went up to Frostflash and touched her cold smooth scales. It was wonderous to feel under his numb hands, infinate smoothness, perfection. The two dragons already had dragonsaddles upon them, so that during a dragon's more complex manuvers through the sky, the rider would not be inadvertantly tossed off by mistake.
Frostflash lied down, so that Kain could get up onto her. Kain gripped the saddle and with novice experiance of this, he got up and looked at the saddle with no idea on how to work the thing.
Couple those two bronze straps around your chest, and then lock the jewel into position. That will activate the enchantments. Frost said softly through her telepathy. Kain did so, wrapping the bronze straps around him tightly, and then looking for the jewel.
He found it, it was to his left of him, a small darkened jewel which was on a slider. Kain touched it, and slid it into it's full position. His entire saddle glew a mild blue, with runic patterns all over it's surface. The jewel shimmering a pale green colour, was fully activated. Kain did not know what it was supposed to do....
"Ready?" Jarrid asked, already ready. Kain knew that Jarrid had flown on these dragons before, Kain on the other hand, was completely new to this. He was excited and nervous at the same time, he gripped onto his saddle tightly. He noticed it had a grove within in for something.....Kain did not know what.
Kain nodded and smiled. He looked out to those frosty clouds, wanting to tocuh them, be within them, float with them. The sun felt warm, yet those winds did not. He wrapped himself warmer, huddling to the fine white cloth tighter.
Then, an unexpected lurch from the dragon. Kain gripped tighter onto the riens of the saddle, his staff in his other hand. He looked towards Jarrid, his face was smiling. And funnily enough, the same grin was upon Kain's.
But this soon faded and the dragon went into a sprint, alongside it's brother. They extended thier wings, and Kain saw the edge rapidly coming towards him. Fear came to him, he held even tighter to the reins and his simple staff.
Kain felt the speed of this teenage dragon, Frostflash couldn't stood even is she wanted to. And then.....they sprang off the edge and fell downwards into a decent.
Kain was overcome by fear, he was falling extremely quickly and that was not a familer sensation. His stomach lurched, and Kain felt nausueas. Why were these things not slowing down! Kain thought he was going to release his staff. His white robes rushed around him, filled with this forsty air which battered his cold skin.
But then, the dragon did something more terrible for Kain.
It span.
Kain was expecting to throw up, but the experiance was most strange indeed. He felt no lose of gravity, it was as though he was upright all along and it was the world which span instead. Kain pondered over this, and suddenly realised it was the saddle's enchantments. Dragonriders did not want have to deal with that during combat, and so such saddles enabled them to perform the most complex of manuvers while keeping a steady head.
Frostflash glided through those frozen clouds, angelic breath they were transversing in. Kain closed his eyes. It was the best thig he had ever felt! It was wonderful, he enjoyed it totally now.
What do you think? Frostflash asked the silent Kain.
Kain waited a few moments.
Like nothing I have ever felt before Frostflash. It is wonderful!
Frostflash smiled, athough Kain could not tell. They continued to fly around, Kain getting used to this now. But something called from behind. It was Jarrid.
"Look out!" Jarrid shouted playfully, as they whizzed right past Kain. Not wanting to let Jarrid get away, Kain shouted, "After them!"
Frostflash did so without a thought. She spred her wings further and dived down to them.
The two danced in the cold air, laughing as they did so. Kain lost Jarrid, and Jarrid lost Kain in those frozen clouds, only for one of them to pop out below or above them.
---
Meanwhile, a figure spoke to the adult dragon back at that cave mouth.
"Should we begin now?"
"No, give them a few moments more. Then do it Xzar."
"Agreed."
---
Kain currently had lost Jarrid, Jarrid and Blizzard had spiraled up into the clouds where he could not see them. Jarrid could see Kain though. He was smiling...until he saw someone else.
He bellowed to Kain, this time full of concern and danger within his voice,
"LOOK OUT KAIN!"
Kain turned to see what Jarrid refered to and before he could see, was hit by something terrible and black, terror and confusion spreading like a plague within his body. He felt his body tumbling downwards....and all Kain could hear was that phrase echoing in his blurred mind.
"LOOK OUT KAIN!"

Kain... she said softly. They are...memories...not reality... She struggled in carrying him. She was a ways of from anyone. Her vision was blurry as the rain clung to her lashes. Her eyes were red from the water, and her skin was chilled. Her hair was swept back win soft auburn strands.
She was weak, and as the blood was washed down from the deep slash on the right side of her face, she realized how tired she was. She fell to her knees. She had travelled miles walking distance, and the effort before to split her soul from her physical body left her with a headache.
Everything seemed cloudy, and with Kain in her arms, she bent her head. She felt someone grab her arm, and she looked up.
Kain was held fast into this embrace of the past, pain as he felt then brewing forth as it had done before, and overwhelming terror. For what Kain saw, few mortals could face and not be.
Opening his eyes, time was frozen. He recoiled mentally, his entire body frozen, so that it would seen he was part of this frozen moment. For he stared into something so vile and ghastly, it's eyes gleaming red with it's inner malice and hatred, those massive rocks for eyes. It's head was a battering ram, those enormous spikes for teeth at the butt of the ram. It was a black dragon, and it had used it's entire body to slam into the side of Frostflash.
Kain's mind flickered back to his books, those vast number of books which he had studied. The thought of a black dragon came to mind, and his mind found the page, found what was in front of him. It only made it more terrorifing.
http://www.wizards.com/leaving.asp?url=/dnd/images/draco_gallery/75559.jpg&origin=dnd_ag_20031108a
Face to face with an adult black dragon, Kain was still fighting the effects of dragonfear. It was a effect that all dragons had upon thier enemies, at least those who would be hostile towards them. One dragon could sweep over a heavily fortified town, and everyone would be powerless to stop the dragon due to chilling terror of the beast.
But such effects could be fought.
And so Kain attempted to do so, time slowly rushing into it's course.
The dragon continued to bite and gnash at Frostflash's side, great gash's upon it. The black dragon was much larger than the teenage silver dragons, and could overpower it. But Frostflash was not going to fail, at least, not go down without a fight.
Frostflash turned her head in rage and blinded pain, her side just being ripped open, and breathed a wide gas of a concnetrated blizzard, the shards of ice spewing forth from Frostflash's maw. But she was blinded by pain, little of her attacks hit, her frenzied flurry of claw attacks as she tumbled to earth as did the black dragon, and the breath attack did little to deter the black dragon.
Jarrid was above the black dragon, and Blizzard had swooped down in rage at the sight of his sister being attacked. Jarrid had a spell upon his lips, his staff raised and lighting crackling from it that white orb.
Blizzard crashed into the black dragon, gripping and tearing at it's hide with it's own talons, and spewing fortha cloud of ice to freeze the black dragon's scales. The black dragon roared at this defiance, and attempted to roll over in the sky, to get Blizzard off.
Kain, woken upout of this fearful stupor, began his own spells, Frostflash continued to roar out that frost. But the black dragon was brewing it's own, Kain could hear it deep within the dragon's throat. But what was a black dragon's breath? Kain could not remember!
Kain, standing up, his white robes fluttering around him, rasied his own staff. He was standing on the saddle, so that the spells would still take effect. Kain closed his eyes and chanted, hearing that deep rumble of the black dragons breath attack come nearer to completion. Kain chanted with all of his being, the magic swirling around him. Jarrid continued to bear down lighting upon the black dragon, but the dragon had it's own spell protections.
Flee! Kain ordered Jarrid.
Jarrid simplied screamed back
No dammit Kain! We are not leaving!
LEAVE! Run now so that one of us can live Jarrid! We cannot fight this thing!
Jarrid continued to pour down lighting, which was easily dispelled by the dragon's natural resistance. Bliazzard continued to roar.
The black dragon knew that it was in a terrible position. One of those bastards was at his flank! The dark dragon, whipped around throwing Kain and Frostflash away, and hurling Jarrid downwards, rumbled.
Jarrid and Blizzard continued to decend. Blizzard had been stunned by the suddenness and force of the attack, the black dragon had used it's mighty tail to batter it as it span.
The black dragon faced Jarrid as he fell, his massive mouth open now, a vile black cloud forming within those gaping jaws of death. Kain opened his mouth in realisation of what was going to happen. But he was not going to let it happen to his best freind. The feeling was mutual between Kain and Frostflash, Frostflash roared and dived into the black dragon's side again, roaring with all of her heart and being to defend her brother, as Kain chanted.
The black dragon was about to release that vile black cloud of death, when it was hit unexpectantly, throwing it off course. It's breath came forth into the clear blue sky, a pillar of black death, filled with poisonous gases. It spiraled harmelessly away, as Frostflash and Kain attacked, defending the beings who they cared for.
Kain, now with a relatively still target, and his chanting almost complete continued on, his voice bellowing in these winds, his white robes fluttering with power, his face contorted in defensive anger. He knew very well that he might die, but he continued to fight.
"Iseth natalith karavna tu is! Tu is preico imperium!" Kain roared and pointed his staff at the dragon's head.
White bolts of light came from the staff, hundreds of small bolts which hit that dragon's head. It bellowed in rage as what Kain had just done!
Kain had made the dragon blind! Blinded by white light! It's red eyes could no longer see anything.
But the black dargon could still feel and hear around him. He spoke three words, in the same language that Kain had just used..the ones of magic.
Kain and Frostflash were sent recoiling by nothing! A massive magic blast came from that black dragon, black energy repelled them both. But Frostflash remained in the air, recovering, it's wounded wings beating the air in anger.
Kain looked down to see if Jarrid and Blizzard were alright....they were spiraling upwards aagin, coming towards Kain. The black dragon hovered, considering what to do, sensing where they were.
Jarrid came towards Kain, hovering by him. They both looked towards the dragon.
"We must flee-" Kain began, but was cut short by something.
The dragon had cast another spell.....a great flood of flame, heading towards them at astronical speed. Kain tried to raise his staff to dispel it, not that he could of, as did Jarrid, but those burning flames rushed towards them too fast! Kain could feel the raging inferno as it neared, that flame was like nothing he had ever experianced! That was beyond any normal flame, that would incinerate them both!
Kain looked on this wall of hellfire defiant, this young man facing death. It would not be his last facing off with death.
He stared into those flames, and kept them open as they were about to incinarate him in that braying inferno as they enveloped him.......

"Wha..." she looked up to meet someone with soft white eyes and a staff within his hand. She looked at him as if he were familiar. Then, complete darkness.
Kain kept his deathly lock into those flames....and did not feel thier flaming embrace. Kain only felt coolness....it shocked his mind, wanting an explanation but finding none. The flames ceased to billow forth...and there was Kain's salvation.

A great golden dragon, a sight that would remain within Kain'd mind for all eternity, so wonderous was this sight. The creature was elegant and wise, the scales of the magnificant creature shone like a rising dawn, filling Kain with hope has his mouth was agape at this sight. Bright light warmed Kain's body, and removed all fear. It was beside of him, and it was looking directly at him, with pride and pleasure. And something else....
Love?
Kain realised who this was! Yet how could this being be that wonderful creature be him? Be....
Xzar?
Yet his mind knew it was, and the gentle voice drifted pleasently in his mind, calmness and inner peace sweeping over him as those golden eyes sparkled at him.
Kain...my pupil. You have acted in a way which I could not have hoped you to perform. You were couragous, willing to sell your own life so that your freind may live. You faced death without flinching, for what you believed in...for who you wished to save. You have passed Kain....you have passed this test. The final one. You are indeed...the next ruler of Velmora.
Kain smiled....complete exaustion sweeping over him. He looked on, as Xzar glided around with those wings of sunlight which sparkled...dispelling the illusion of the black dragon which had seemed so real.....so very terrorfingly real. Yet Kain looked at it again, and saw it frozen...Kain now stared at it with no fear as his master was here.
The illusion faded from view....as did the rest of his world. He fell into a warm blue world of othing once more, remembering this experiance what it meant.
And for the moment, he simply lay in this calm and serene coolness....treasuring this moment. As he would do for the rest of his life.

"Where....where am I?" she said weakly as her eyes flickered open. They seemed to be traveling as the wind sweapt past her face. She looked up to meet the eyes of an old friend.
"You are on your way back to the academy Miss Shentavo," the man said to her. He looked down to her and smiled. It was clear to her now that they were atop a hosrse, she ran her hand along the white coat, and then nervously looked around.
"Where is Kain, Zodiac?"
"He is safe, with another rider to your left.." She glanced to her left, barely being able to make out the person as her vision was blurry. She was then able to make out that it was her protègèe.
And so Kain passed that test on that fateful day. Kain simply basked in the serenty of the moment, replaying the sight of that golden dragon which was Xzar, his master. Those wings....
But the moment could not last forever.
It is time to continue. Look forward now, see what occours.
Time swept forward, Kain reluctantly recalling the hazy memory of a battle. But he went before it.....before the battle took place. He needed to know why it had occoured.
He opened his eyes.
He was in a rather large war room, hastely made up to be so. It had a large glass table which was beautiful in design, having a elegant wooden frame which had runes within it, and a glass top with more elaborate magical scripts upon it. To the untrained eye, it appeared to be just decoration....nothing more. But to those sensitive to magic, as all the Psi were for they all were mages in some form or another, knew it's true nature.
The magic of this vast table could perform marvelous feats, it would summon up chairs when needed, create feasts of food and as it did right now, display images upon it.
Currently...it held a transparent map upon it's smooth surface.
Kain looked to who was around the table. B'jorn...older now. He was around 24, and he was fully armoured in a blue plate armour which shimmered, encrusted with runes of the Psi. He had progressed in rank, he was a remarkable person within the Wayfarers. He had performed superbly during his tasks, and had been promoted easily.
But it was only he in this room, B'jorn was not a general. He was high ranking, but he was still to young to lead. Unfortuantly....so was Kain.
Kain looked at his robes. Still the golden edged ones, but he knew something had changed. Something dramatic had changed. these were not the correct robes for his status, not that this situation had ever occoured before.
Yes Kain. You are the ruler of Velmora. Although not without a adversery. You know whom I speak of.
Kain realised....Xzar. It was Xzar who he saw in that burning field of war earlier...or rather correctly put, in the future. time froze, he could not believe it. How could this be? How could this come to pass? Why did he have to fight Xzar? Why was he ruler when Xzar was still alive? What had happened? Kain's mind swirled from the questions which had no answers.
See for yourself. Resume.
Time flowed back into existance and B'jorn began to talk to Kain. He sounded gruff yet hidden beneath it was fear. He was pacing a little around the room, his plate mail only giving a light click as he made a footstep.
"Kain....you know what is going to happen. Yet none of us know why he betrayed us and did this! I know this is difficult to bear...we all knew how close you two were...But we have to deal with this. For the good of the nation."
"Yes....tell me what has occoured in full detail. I have only received paniced rumors from various sides. You are the first who I have spoken to who has been at the front line." Kain said, wanting to know the full account of this.
"Xzar, as you know went onto a expedition recently. He took the Brightblade for some reason....he said he needed to meditate and communicate with the Gods. He went into the lower caves...." B'jorn trailed off trying to collect the full story. Kain did not try and rush B'jorn as he knew this was difficult for him too.
The lower caves was the underground cities of Velmora. It held the main mining for Velmora, which mined for cystals a source of currency for Velmora. Crysals could be used to aid in enchantments of spells, and maintaining certain magical items by recharging them. They were vital in Velmora society.
"Well.....he came back. With an army. An army of frelling demons Kain! Devils and shadows were with him! One which filled all of us with terror Kain...such a sight I never wish to see again! He attacked us, charging down with a horrific blade....one which burned and screamed, one which bellowed for pain and destruction. But no sight of the Brightblade.....I...I do not know what he did with it....But he attacked the villages....the outskirts of the mining town. He ravaged it...he had no regard for the Laws! He channeled and did not heal Kain! The place....the place became a deadland. We fled....coming here. We were totally outnumbered and we were ill-equip. Dammit Kain! It was a massacre. How can we possibly fight that?" B'jorn exclaimed, banging his plated ahnd against the desk. It responded in alarm, flashing a yellow from the runes being attacked.
Kain looked at B'jorn for long moments, the two sharing this worry. The concern. Kain had to do something, this young man who had been rushed into this situation without any experiance of such amtters, only the lessons that Xzar had taught him of such things. Kain made a decision.
"Alright. This is what we shall do. We shall gather our armies and face of Xzar. We shall fight him in the under city, and drive him back. It may cost us our lives...but if you say this scourge is a s terrible as it is...than we cannot allow it to attack Velmora...and destroy that which we love most." Kain said.
"Gather the generals here, we mkae preparations for.....war." Kain said reluctantly, the word never having been used within Velmora before this time. B'jorn nodded and rushed off to spread the message. Soon every civilian who wished to join in this effort to repel Xzar from Velmora. Many could not believe it, until those who escaped told thier stories....showed thier wounds, showed thier experiances.
Then, relucantly they marched in formations against the ruler they had loved for so many years....after Kain had ordered the defences. The armies marched, many not properly trained, although experianced in magic. Indeed, magic was used everyday by everyone, so this army fo mages was a fearsome army to behold.
And so, Kain under heavy responcibilities, wondered in self-doubt after every small decision, that he might have made the wrong one. But he did not.
And so Kain, you became ruler of Velmora. And so, you raised an army against Xzar in defence of Velmora. The battle ahead is what you saw...
Kain closed his eyes....and when he opened them, the same sight of death and carnage welcomed him....
Kain stood before the grim reality fo battle, B'jorn to his side, all in his blue armour upon horseback as was Kain. And to his left was Jarrid, with his white robes of the Peacekeeper. Kain's personal guard, along side a nromal elite group fo warriors behind him.
The formations had been made, a arid wind blew throughout this cavern, making the mouth dry and taste of ash. You could not escape it.....the massive army fo Xzar the massive blackness that was it....the deon haorde with those eyes, so many eyes which stared with thier blood coloured vortexes of hate. Thier diabolical weapons glinted from the pillars of fire which was ignited from the bodies of the innocent and the wooden buildings of the mines. It sent a foul smell around the underground battlefield, the dead land cracked and vapid.
Kain looked at Jarrid. His face was grim...holding his staff in his right hand, the rune covered staff glowing slightly, a glimmer of hope. Jarrid's face was ghostly, but determined. His knuckles where white from gripping the staff so tightly, his mind desperately practicing the words for his spells.
Jarrid nodded his head slowly, knowing what must be done, as did everyone here. Kain returned the gesture and looked to his right to B'jorn, all in his blue plate mail. B'jorn held his massive claymore within his hand....they were all ready. B'jorn nodded his head and held his horse steady....
"People of Velmora!" Kain began, riding out to the front in a great voice which every being heard within the cavern. And strangely, the voice inspired hope....
"We face an enemy which we have never before faced. We know only that it is great, and that if we allow it to exist, it will destroy our homeland! Will we allow this to occour? WILL WE ALLOW VELMORA TO BE DESTROYED?" Kain roared, drawing the holy weapon....the Brightblade. It was the curved blade....the holy blade which shone blue. It inspired hope into Kain's forced, as they raised thier voices in a resounding cheer, "NEVER!"
Kain pointed his horse forward and galloped forward bellowing as he did,
"THEN JOIN ME IN BATTLE!" Kain roared, his force thundering behind him...inspired by Kain's words....and the power of the Brightblade.
The next events where blurred to Kain. Kain already knew what happened...but things got distorted. He could nto shut his eyes, the battle was merging....memories flashed before him...ones of the same battle. They merged and became distorted....and before him, within a totally black battlefield was.....was...
Rave.
"Rave!" Kain whispered in recognision...yet...he did not know what their relationship was....but she was familer.....someone extremely significant....
His entire enviorment changed. He was int he center of a vast museum....and each person in his life was a statue....he walked along.....looking at each one with twangs of memories. Each one was something vast....he came to Rave....and asked, "Who are you?" wanting to know what the two of them had doen, to sort out the puzzle in his mind.
The statue of Rave slowly came to life.....stirring at his question....

As Rave slipped into unconsciousness, her mind began to wander at the steady beat of the horse. A strong mind, is a dangerous thing to let go off...
"Who are you?" the voice echoed within her head over and over again.
Ravelyn Shentavo.... she replied faintly
She then recognized it to be Kain's voice.
Your mother...you sire... she answered weakly.
(ooc: sorry must go to work...you might want to check pg 40 of the shentavo thread...it may interest you greatly)
"I am Ravelyn Shentavo."
The words rattled within Kain's mind, bouncing off the walls of his prison which Kain had the key somewhere in the chamber, but was blind to see, too dumb too feel, too mute to ask.
Those words....it triggered something. A flash. A memory.
Thier first encounter...when it was snowing, when this woman had called him when he was a mortal. Kain took a step backwards, his etnire body shaking....and then the memory was gone like a snowflake within a fiery grip, melted away by the desire to snatch onto it and see it as it should be.
Another memory....when Rave had helped him in that vicious battle, helped his people. Kain fell to his knees, holding his head in his hand, trying to make sense of it all, forcing himself in his mortal form to understand to comprehend, not to drown under the flood of these memories. They were all sharp bursts, Kain understanding each one on its own....yet it was not complete.....when he got to another point, the last one did not make sense.....the memories snapped towards him, and as he remembered wh he was from fragments of his memories....his form snapped violently.... Psi.... vampire.... child.... man.... mortal.... immortal.... hero....traitor....
Thousands of memories flooded over him, yet he could not deciefer any of it, he floundered in this sea of confusement, names coming up which in one he loved, in others he scorned....
"Help me.....Rave...." Kain whispered in desperation...upon his knees his mind buzzing with these revelations...

Ravelyn looked upon him. "I really don't know if I can help. I am supposed to be a guide...but things usually don't work out the way that they are planned to. Kain...you are in a coma right now. I am taking you back to the Academy where you will be safe. There is no need to be afraid here my child...this is a state of mind and memories...nothing more, nothing less. These things have happened...they hold no effect on your physical self. But if you never wake from the dream...then you will never wake."
She passed to his side, her body straightening as if becoming stronger. "You have nothing to fear here...remember that."
"Nothing to fear.....nothing to fear...." Kain gasped out, as he found great difficulty with holding onto a thought or some fragment of sense of the situation before it was swept away by that fear inspiring sea of nothingness and confusion. Kain shivered, all of his forms did so. He held his head, trying to find sense of the words, the people, the places, the emotions....
Rave was the keystone, Kain began to build some picture around him....some structure of sense....
"Please Rave...just talk to...me...it seems...to help...." Kain struggled out, keeping his eyes closed, holding his head as his forms changed between his years of existining...a boy....a teenager....a crippled ruler....a vampire....something else....

She stepped toward him, lifting his head and sight up to her with the tips of her fingers. "Kain...I can't stay here long. However, I will do what I can in the mean time. You know how you have jumped from place to place, from time to time? Why aren't you moving so quickly now...." she raised her eyebrow as to inquire an answer, but continued. "I am right by your side through all of this...whether you realize it or not. Both physically and spiritually. And Gene as well as Zodiac... You are well protected...there is nothing to be afraid of."
Kain was indeed changing from form to form less quickly now, some stability forming. Kain alsmot had it together.....all together...
"I....I almost have it Rave! I....I..." Kain trailed off for a moment collecting himself. He held everything in place! But there was one last memory missing, a hole... something strange.....something eerie about it....
And then it fitted. Every piece locked together, the memories made sense, the last question had been answered by Rave before....which had led this this transgression.
"Destiny is affected by choice...." Kain murmered and slumped to the ground. But he was not in pain, a smile upon his lips, and a sense of peace about him now. A sight which Rave had not seen in a long time from Kain.
Kain's form was changing....but to something new...something completely new....yet this coma world was begining to fade....it was needed no longer....the puzzle had been worked out. The sea faded away, as did Kain and Rave....
(OOC Feel free to place Kain somewhere, or carry on with an event here etc. I could enter the Shentavo Acadamy now, whatever you want. Kain will be sleeping for a short while, so put him somewhere. I am sure you can work it out. Just Kain will sleep for a little while longer, so you can carry on.)
