The Republic of Naponia makes the jump!

The Republic of Naponia, once a new, lost nation, has made the jump to space with the help of the Hammerian Protectorate! As I speak these words, Liberty Fleet Bravo has been dispatched, with our best transports, to load up the entire population of Naponia and carry them to the Norldund System!
Comment from the leader of Naponia:
"I couldn't believe what I heard when I was on the videophone with the Proctectorate! They even offered to transport and planetarize my entire nation into the Nordlund system! Instantly my fleet was ordered to escort..."
Naponia shall now inhabit the prestigious Nordlund System, quite possibly one of the safest places to live in the Milky Way.
Congratulations, Naponia.
As Naponia's flagship, the "Protection", swiftly travelled with engines at full blast, huge Sleeper compartiments in Liberty Fleet Bravo were being awaken, to take part in Naponia's planetarization on Aren.
Naponia's leader (Cctoide) called Liberty Bravo Leader over the videophone.
"Status report."
"Sleeper cryo section shows green status. Engines at 80%. 2550 parsecs to Nordlund System."
Cctoide looked at the vast zenologic pictures engraved in the sides of the control module.
"This is Liberty Fleet Bravo Wing 3. Picking up unidentified contacts behind us, 500 parsecs."
"Liberty Fleet Bravo Wing 2. More unidentified contacts!"
"This is Protection. Man all stations. Ready the cannons!"

Captain Marduk sat upon the bridge of his flagship, Tempest Infernal. His attack group followed behind. The force was combined of some military class, Assington ships and a number of rag-tag spacecraft aquired on the black market.
Marduk had been discharged from the ASF for inappropriate use of force on exploration missions. He had immediately gathered other ex-military men and formed a group of mercenaries/bandits. And they had just found their target. A Naponian convoy.
The captain smiled.
"Keep moving in, tell the cloaked ships to stay away from the convoy and move ahead. Prepare to deploy fighers."
Several more ships moved towards the convoy, arming weapons.
General Cctoide ran to the bridge.
"Get me video with the flagship."
"Video in." -One of the engineers shouted
"Unidentified Flagship, respond. This is Naponian Convoy Planet 5. Please identify. We have multiple Hammerian ships and will open fire if the 50 parsec security range is breached."
Cctoide waited for the reply....

Marduk watched the video, then activated his reply.
"Now why would I want to stop? Why don't you make things easy and deactivate your shields and weapons. You may outnumber my little collection of spacecraft, but rest assured, I have my own cards to play."
Cctoide tried to keep cool.
"Protection to all ships. Ready fighter bays. We have multiple hostile contacts on our six. Load the Protection ion turrets. All Bradley-class gunboats ready Archer missiles."
The general watched the blips on the green screen slowly move... 48 parsecs... 42 parsecs... 30 parsecs... 24 parsecs...
"To all gunboats- OPEN FIRE! We have several ships inside range!"
Eight guboats turned to face the contacts broadside and fired ion cannons and Rapid-Fire Lasers at will.
The Protection cut its engines to half and prepared to launch half a wing of Mosquito fighters. Meanwhile, the Harbinger cruisers readied weapons.
The second salvo of ion cannons loaded, the turrets still glowing cherry red.
"Bradley Five. Missiles inbound!"
The 240-feet-long, 180-feet-wide, 50-feet-tall Bradleys realized that the first thing to blow would be them... nevertheless... the ion cannons continued firing, as 70 Mosquitoes passed overhead.

Admiral Jo'rae (Zho-Rhi, not Joe-Ray) of Liberty Fleet Bravo stood firm as alarms blared on the bridge.
"Sir, MACs fully charged," The Weapons officer reported.
"Fire!" Jo'rae watched as over 600 large trails of exhaust shot from the entire fleet and sped towards the Assington pirates.
"Deploy all fighters, order all vessels into defensive position. Recharge all MACs. Fire all laser and Autocannon batteries."

OOC: I'm glad these are just a few pirates. I wouldn't want to get into a war with that space navy.
IC: Marduk smiled as he watched the incomming enemies.
"Release the Charmeleon and Raptor fighters. Send the signal to the the ambush."
The Tempest Infernal powered up shields and weapons, unleashing a volley of plasma torpedos and ion beams towards the nearest enemy ships. Fighters began pouring out of the the large craft and engaging enemy fighters.
The cloaked ships ahead of the fleet recieved their signal.
"Yes sir. Deploying EMP field."
Two HCD equipped cruisers deployed two large spheres each. The formation of the spheres created a massive square. A square that was in the direct path of the incoming fleet. The sphere's activated their HCD generators and disappeared from sight. Whilst moving, they are detectable on radar, but extremely difficult to hit.
The EMP field between the spheres is activated, and the spheres shoot toward the fleet. Zooming past the fleet, they had very little idea of what hit them as the EMP field passed through their ships.
OOC: It's up to you to choose how badly effected you are. I don't want this to sound like godmoding. The larger ships may only lose their shields. Whilst fighters may be completely deactivated.
Foe Hammer
19-01-2004, 06:21
"Sir, our primary shields are down!"
The Admiral thought, admiring the void of space. "Activate secondary shields. Divert primary shield power to weapons. Continue firing MAC arsenals."
An alarm buzzed on the bridge. A crewman from the Ops station reported, "Sir, the Flagship has arrived!"
"Wonderful. Hail the flagship and order the fleet into a defensive formation around her." The Admiral grinned. This is far too easy.

"Sir, several of their fighters have been deactivated and the main ship lost primary shields. But they have secondary. And oh shit! Their flagship just arrived."
Marduk grimaced.
He had not expected such resistance. Things were not looking so good anymore.
"I see. Inform all cruisers to launch cruise missiles. Target that primary ship. Shields or not, these things will do some damage."
The five pirate cruisers all armed their cruise missiles and launched the massive weapons towards the retaliating ship, whilst the fighters worried about destroying the MACs.
Suddenly the Protection shut down its engines, and started to give off immensely high energy readings.
"Sir, we've got the maneuver solution."
"Great. Order all battlestations into stealth mode. Divert energy to weapons and shields."
The enormous flagship put only one of the three F-472 Plasmajet Fusion Engines en marche, and spun to the left in a gracious maneuver. As it repowered all the engines, heading towards the Tempest Infernal, below the gunboats, something strange started to happen.
"Sir, we are ready."
Staying out of range of the EMP field, the Protection readied all forward-facing weapons and fired them at the same time at the shield, causing numerous bolt lightning to appear and deflect the ion cannons erroneously, resulting in damage to a friendly gunboat.
"Sir! Alert! Two of the gunboats are taking damage!"
"Video Charlie Six and Seven!!"
"Video on."
The huge monitor showed glances at the commanders between heaps of static.
"We... energy... cannot... tried... But... *buzzzz* Enemy... ions... EMP.. *buzzzzz*"
"Sir! Charlie Six and Seven down!"
"Poor souls... but nevermind! Activate figher bays!"
As the first wing of Mosquitoes, now stranded, began to explode and drift away, the second wing prepared for its daredevil kamikaze mission...
The Mosquitoes raced at the energy shield dead straight at the generator spheres, going offline with the intent of smashing the generators...
"For Nordlund!!!!!!!"
"Sir, the Mosquitoes have entered the EMP range"...

The Empress, dressed in the flashiest diplomatic uniform with tassles falling in all directions, stood and approached the bridge board. "Divert 160 port MAC cannons to deal with them. Shut down engines and all unecessary systems and divert power to shields!"
The officer did as he was ordered. "Ma'am, shield strength climbing to 130%... 170%... 200%... Ma'am, shield strength topped out at 250%."

Uhh, you're forgetting, my ships have shields... meaning they block things... like missiles, lasers, bullets, ships... So there's really no way to destroy the MACs, unless you can hold out long enough to bring down both shields.

OOC: The fighters are only slowing it down, I didn't say they would be able to destroy the MACs, just that they would try.
IC: Marduk swore.
"Ok, perhaps we should back off a little. Inform all cruisers to make the jump out of this system, I'm afraid we must call a retreat."
"Yes sir."
Several pirate cruisers began powering up their hyper-jump drives and setting escape paths. The Tempest Infernal did the same.
"Sir, ready to jump."
"Go."
The operator hit the ignition switch. The lights flashed on and off and the bridge was filled with a dying buzz.
"Shit! Don't tell me that was the hyper-jump drive failing?"
"Uh... sorry sir. It looks like something penetrated the shields and nailed the hyper-jump blaster."
"Shit! Ok, divert all unnecessary power to shields and weapons. Call back all fighters into a defensive position. What's our status on the cruise missiles?"
"Two have been downed sir, the others are still on course."
"When they draw close enough to inflict reasonable damage, detonate them."
"Yes sir."
The remaining cruisers jumped out of the system, leaving the Tempest Infernal to fend for itself.
The Protection got within one kilometer of the Tempest Infernal and shut down the thrusters.
"All fleet stop."
All of the Naponian ships halted fire, in a timeless movement.
The Tempest lied there, in front of all the turrets.
General Cctoide nodded at the Logistics station.
"Video with the Tempest's general on screen 4, please."
"Video on-screen."
The Tempest's General appeared on-screen.
"This is the NPF Protection. We have you on our gunsights and will shoot in case you do any offensive maneuver. You now have two choices: refuse to give up and suffer of the painfullest and most humilliating of deaths, or turn your flagship up to us and be judged by a Nordlundian court for crimes of unprovoked attacks. Small openings on the sides of the flagship opened, and many small (200m) Longsword freighters broke off from the docking clamps. (Think Starship Troopers)
As the freighters got on-course, near Aren everything was moving in a dazzling frenzy. A small junkyard field had formed around several ships, leaving a small navigational hazard.

Empress Nordlund, flanked by her two finest Admirals, stood on the sheet-metal floors. She stared at the radiant star, practically absorbing it's mysterious aura.
She glanced away, checking the readings of her vessel. Small, almost unnoticable thumps resounded throughout the halls of the vessel, as her dead brethren were consigned to the black abyss of space. She closed her eyes as she brooded over what - and who - she had lost this day. Among her many thoughts, one was magnified. Captain Max "Magnum" Jordan, commander of FHG 928, who was not only a livesaver, having taken three shots to the leg for the safety of the Empress, but was also a close friend. A small tear built up in her right eye - She refocused her thoughts on what was truly important.
"Ma'am, the Cradle Mobile Refit Station is inbound. Activating Hail Sequence. Handshake initiated and confirmed. Ma'am, Cradle's AI systems estimate 3 minutes to dock. All unnecessary systems shutting down. Engines cut, weapons offline. We're clear to go under the knife."

A team of surgeons, escorted by a squad of soldiers, approached his cell. "It's time."
A nurse grabbed him by the arm and jabbed a needle in, injecting a strange, clear liquid. The pirate was out cold. They placed him on a stretcher and took him to the operating room.
7 hours later -
"Clamps!"
"Clamps."
The head surgeon held the unit in place with the clamps. "Sponge."
The nurse wiped massive amounts of perspiration off of the surgeons forehead. "Blood vessels have been reattached. Cord, please."
The surgeon carefully placed two cords on the small device, and almost instantaniously, the subject's right arm shot into the air, nearly slapping the poor devil who was standing next to the subject. "Perfect."
The doctor took away the cords, and the arm fell. The attachment of control wires to the receiver, placed in the back of the neck. "Card, please." The doctor took a very small 1 inch wide AI chip and stuck it in the receiver. The subject's eyes shot open.
The doctor attempted to communicate. "Hello, can you hear me?"
A voice with a tone much different than the commander's voice promptly responded. "Yes, sir, I can hear you. I will now run a diagnostic... Ahh, wonderful subject, Doctor. Athletic body." The subject's limbs began to move.
"If you could hold still, we will close the incision. Bone restructurers, please."
The Technician handed the doctor a container with a rather viscous liquid inside. He applied it to the opened skull as it was pressed together, back to it's original shape. After a minute, the liquid solidified, providing a lasting grip on both pieces of bone. The glue-like substance would dissolve once the bones had grown back together.
"Stitching materials." The docter picked un the stitching device and began to sew the subject's skin back together. His gloves were soaked with blood, and an assistant promptly changed them.
After a while, the surgery was finished without a hitch. This was surely a technological leap for the world.

Marduk was freaking out. He had opened his eyes to see a bloodied doctor looking over him. The doctor asked him if he could hear what he was saying. He had definately picked the wrong fight......
Way, way away from the surgery room, near Aren, colonizing ships began to depart the orbiting stations, leaving a trace of blue ionized matter behind, and great plumes of flames as they entered the atmosphere.
"Sir, we have the FH Cradle inbound. Hail received and returned. What should I communicate?"
Cctoide hesitated for a second, then responded in a low, calm voice.
"Tell them to cut engines when they reach the Destoyers parked in the middle of the debris field. By the way, how are the freighters doing?"
"Five of them are down already."
"Very well. Inform the Cradle that we'll need some technicians put down to build an astro-radar and ground-radar on Aren. Also, ask them if they could, by any chance, spare another Light Cruiser to guard the Protection."
"Will do."
The Logistics & Comm man ran to the radar room, disappearing behind the airlock.
---
Three Hours Later
"Yes, we are looking for another Light Cruiser. We need it to guard the Protection which is currently..."
"No. I said we need two of the most powerful radars they have, with a range of about a quarter parsec. And several ground radars put down to guard New Naponia...."
"Yes, we confirm you, Freighter Alpha Tango Niner. Ready for dock with flagship. We have the population ready to embark..."
"We have 500 engineers down..."
"Yes, we get you. Start scouting Aren. Get me online with the Empress and ask for the planet maps!..."
A flurry of voices sounded in the radar room. The Protection, as the nerve center it was, couldn't stop at any time. Even as radars sweeped the surface for rough surface details, several small hover-ships discovered various minerals underground.

Naponia, your Destroyers have arrived with a full crew and full ammo stocks.

The general made out the SuperDestroyers passing through the cruisers.
"Video with the Empress, please."
As the destroyers passed and four freighters docked with the four SuperDestroyers, each leaving a Naponian command crew of 1 General, 2 Admirals and several Lieutenants.
The SuperDestroyers were now under Naponian command. The general kept thinking this relation with Hammeria would turn out to be undoubtedly successfull. One of the SDestroyers entered Aren orbit.
The video link with the Empress had finally come online.
"Hello. Good to see you fare well. I would like to give my thanks for the SuperDestroyers. These will be undoubtedly useful in our forays into Aren. Also, I want to state that it was very generous of you to give a full crew for each of them, seeing as they cost in the thousands..."

OOC: Ok, this RP is almost in the end. As a starting "foray" maybe a conjoint Wohlstand/Foe Hammer/Naponian fleet could explore the vast asteroid field just outside Nordlund, we never know what we might find there, and there is the possibility of Naponia researching Asteroid Shipyards, which are basically Shipyards-on-a-rock.
BTW: Great RP.

Good idea. The Colony Ship will set sail soon to search for new systems, so there will be some major activity in the Alliance. Oh, and BTW, I think Matsu's going to join.
General Cctoide stared at Aren's north pole. As tons of building material were shipped down in massive freighters, thousands of workers got to work on building New Asvardia's Town Hall, the capitol of will-be Arenian Naponia...
The End
OOC: There, I think we pretty much moved... next RP, probably about Naponia developing and the said forays into near-Norlundian systems.
Good RP.

THE END
That's the first RP I've actually finished in a while... wow. Feels good.
