It is my pleasure to announce that Mr. Max Barry will be participating in a question and answer session, LIVE! That's right, you now have a chance to ask the author of Jennifer Government and NationStates about his current work, upcoming work, and anything else that you may want to know. The chat will be hosted on the regular Nationstates IRC channel (see below), and will also include many of the NS mods, if there is anything that you may wish to know from them. Your task, if you choose to accept it, will be to come up with some good questions! But please, keep them serious! Watch this thread for a final date and time!
OFFICIAL TIME ANNOUNCED

"w00t" indeed!
So... all we have to do is track the IP and then we'll finally be able to answer the eternal question: WHO is Max Barry...
... well, uhm, apart from being Max Barry...

Ahhh, a chance to speak with The Man himself. 'Tis a great honor and would be my pleasure a attend and hear (or see  ) his words of wisdom. This is alos a great chance for me to finally get off my butt, get irc, visit #nationstates, and see what the big deal is all about :P

I've been wondering that too.
Does he believe in core competencies, or does he outsource and subcontract? ;)
And does he wear Nike's?

I understand what you mean, but technically, you've asked "is the internet safe to download?"
IRC is, essentially, a protocol, like FTP, and thus not downloaded.
However, to your question. mIRC (a client program to access IRC (Internet Relay Chat)) is perfectly safe to download with no ill effects. It's simple, user friendly, and not all that large. The program itself has existed since the mid-nineties, and I've had no trouble with any of the many versions I've used, over multiple platforms (Windows 3.x, 95, NT, ME, and XP).
At any rate, worst case senerio, you can simply delete it when you're done.

I've been using IRC since 1996 with no problems (And I've been a denzien of Espernet since then, too!)
At the moment, I dunno if I'll be online for it, but there's a good chance I will be ^_^... And really, people, do you think you'll get an honest answer if you ask him straight out about him and [violet]? After all this intrigue on the subject? Wouldn't a straight answer be... well... anticlimactic? =p

Perhaps we can look forward to more meetings like this in the future.
That depends entirely on Barry`s ability to stand dozens, if not hundreds of questions like
Are you really [Violet]?
