RGN: Roania announces full nationalization

RoaniaGovernmentNews

In an astonishing about face on policies for the past 50 years, the Roanian Government recently announced the total nationalization of all companies within Roanian Territory.

Every single corporation is now required by law to sell 51% of it's stock to the government, or lose its right to trade in Roania. Many community organisations are welcoming the move, saying that it ensures that Roanian citizens will be provided with better quality at lower prices.

The Roanian Government actually started the program 10 years ago with the total buy-out of every mine, shipyard and munitions factory, thus ensuring that they wouldn't have to pay more then wages to ensure that the military is fully funded.

The government swears that 49% of the new companies will remain open to other people buying shares. Provided that they live in Roania or are allied citizens. A striking change from the above mentioned industries, which are 100% government owned and operated.

Small businesses will remain independent, until they reach a point where they have three or more shops operating under the same name. Even that will become rare under coming laws which are believed to make franchizing illegal.

Roania Pharmaceuticals CEO Karolyn Von Klyne could not be reached for comment, and the Prince has apparently ordered all reporters to leave him the hell alone. An exact quote of his words are sadly unprintable on a family show such as this.

In response to criticism that this concentrates yet more power in the hands of the noble/merchant consortium that rules Roania, Minister for Industry Julian Dawn said, "Remember, freedom of speech is a privilege, not a right. Number two, that's what they said when we made all of the schools direct parts of the Department of Education and all the teachers civil servants, and now are our test scores one of the best, or what?"

Many of the critics then disappeared into the night.

This is Roania Government News. Goodnight, and godbless.

The Ineffable Government applauds the actions of the Roanian government. The Ineffable Government works for a similar goal but with a different approach. With a 100% income tax rate, anything we pay to anyone in our country comes right back to us, meaning we can get anything we want for free. It's really quite a nice setup...

Well that will kill foreign investment and hurt if not bar high quality products from other countries and goods that can only be gotten from other countries.

We thank the Polish people for their support. As for the dogs of Terah, please bear in mind that many, if not most, medical supplies are manufactured by Roania and sold for far less money then it would cost other nations to manufacture themselves.

We have no intention of stopping trade, even with barbarians. We hope to be able to concentrate, though, on only allowing civilised powers to work alongside us.

We hope this does not kill any investment or trade between our allied nations especially with the DotF alliance in effect.

"...they did WHAT now?"
"Calm down, Dawn, let me handle this. After all, I'm the one in power here."
"Lookie here, cat-bitch, only I know how to handle this, and that's total invasion of Roania! Screw the New Resian Charter, we need to invade!"
"Only not. I've got an idea, so bare with me. We'll be fine."

The Resi Corporation has announced today the formation of the ResiRoania Corporation, a corporation that owns all the factories within Roanian borders. It should be noted that this corporation owns ONLY the factories, and not the processes within them. The processes that the factories themselves preform are still owned by motherland Resi.

ResiRoania has just sold 51% of its stock to Roania. Any profit that the buildings themselves generate will go directly to the Roanian government.

True it wouldn't hurt any of your allies. Oh well, besides having valuable mining operations and fine goods made by craftmen our main economy is farming and such anyway so we wouldn't be affected. The only people that could get effected sightly are the Super Mega Corporations and who cares how they are effected since nearly any national business lost would be just pocket change to them.

Elentári Displeased with Economic Policy in Roanian Protectorate

VINYATIRION - Events in the Menelmacari capital were not at all surprising today, when the Elentári Sirithil nos Fëanor officially expressed extreme displeasure over new economic laws in the protectorate of Roania.

"It saddens me to see that a nation that has sworn fealty to this empire would so deliberately act counter to its policies and interests," she said. "I suspect that perhaps there is a lack of understanding in terms of what protectoracy is. I will deal with the matter... as is 'appropriate'," she added. "Menelmacari with investments in Roania can rest easy; your assets are safe, I promise you."

It is unknown at this point how these events will affect the leadership of Roania; it is suspected that things do not bode well for the Black family, which includes the Viceroy, Prince Alexander Black. Lady Sirithil is apparently also re-evaluating her faith in Alysanndra Ellestrea, the Grand Vizier of Roania, and one whom most had seen as a sort of protegé of the Elentári.

The MC6 exchange dropped 1.1%, or 284 points, on the day, rather less than many experts expected. After a similar reassurance safeguarded and even furthered Menelmacari economic interests in Lavenrunz several months ago during the Helga Dresden crisis, most Menelmacari seem to be taking the Elentári at her word.

More news as it comes in.

"We tell you what you need to know"

An emergency meeting has been held in the Palace at recent threats by the Elentari Sirithril. Apparently, several Menelmacari interests have been caught up in the onrush of purchasing. The Prince has hastened to distance himself from these rash actions, and has ordered a full scale investigation.

All siezed Menelmacari assets have been returned to their owners, and the Minister for Industry is being examined by a royal commision chaired by Grand Vizier Alysanndra Ellestrea herself. If found guilty of deliberately including Menelmacari corporations, or the corporations of other Roanian allies, she could be sentenced to exile.

The Grand Vizier has offered an unconditional apology to the Elentari, in both elven and Roanian. A translation for our human viewers is: "My most humble apologies, Glorious Elentari. I will open myself for your judgement."

In other news, the palace remains closed to all visitors after RIAS agents intercepted a threat against Prince Alexander's daughter, Princess Malissa...

The Gilthoniel launched from Vinyatirion today. Palace sources tell us the Elentári is making for Roania to meet directly with the local leadership.

You realize that impossible to do?
Basically because the company itself ussually doesnt own any of its stock. Or if they do they probably only own 5-10% of it. Private Investors will own the rest. SO you are forcing investors to selll there shares in order for the government to become majority shareholders in all firms.

And on a side note you called that a facsist bump technically its a communist/socialist bump. Facism just states that the government is allowed to intervene and override private business rulings during wars and in the name of the state. Communism is when the government controls the business you have just implemented a 50% communist system.

The response from the government is what was expected. Lord Tian made an annoucment that the Roanian Government has been rather lacking in this issue. "The Roanians are behind the times. We've been holding 80% of Crimmond corporations since the founding of the Imperial Totality. I am quite suprised to find out that private enterprises have been allowed for so long."

Also, the Emperor was quick to disavow fears that the government was taking Socialistic actions, as pointed out by critics of Roania. "We have, and shall always be, against the Socialists and Communists of this world. The Empire was founded on the principles of Imperialists and Capitalists. That has not and will not change. I trust that it is the same for the Roanian government."

The Myer Stock Exchange; based in Myer, the industrial center of the Empire, has dropped .0008% since the announcement. This is mot likely due to the fact that 99% of the stocks are internal industries.

Now turning to National News, Lord Reil Tian is scheduling a long awaited vacation along the Baltic Sea, accompanyed by Larea dinAthos, Head of Interspecies Relations. What this means is being deba- *click*

OOC: A bit of explanation might help.

Technically, 100% of all Roanian corporations are completely controlled by the government, if you include the various petty nobles, minor lords, small businessmen, etc. as part of the government.

Roanian Democracy, such as it is, consists of four seperate organisations. The House of Nobles, the House of Burghers, the Council of Viziers, and the Prince.

Now, did you see the word 'commoners' listed anywhere? Peasants? Villiens? Commons? No? Exactly. The Viziers are selected by the Prince from where ever he chooses. Generally it's from one of the houses or the all powerful military (The Councillor for Military and the Armed Forces is always a Lord Captain Commander, for instance. The Councillor for Foriegn Affairs is a Derricksmen, because of Alexander's cruel sense of humor and basically sadistic nature.) Alysanndra Ellestrea was selected by a vote from the following people.

* The Nobles
* Everyone on the island without a noble title who was, at the time, worth 1 million dollars. (Actually a surprisingly large percentage of the population, and they all got their on their own recognisances, lotteries being non-existent in Roania)
* The upper echelons of the Church Heirarchy within Roania. (Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops, Abbots.)
*A small, almost random selection from the other religious groups. (Rabbis, Mullahs, Buddhist Monks, etc.)
* The Prince's whim
* The Lord Captain Commanders, the Grand Admirals, and the heads of each city-state's Special Forces.

The closest the common people have to a voice is the council of burghers. Now, everything the nobles don't own, the burghers own. Everything the burghers don't own, but the nobles don't want, is owned by the Church or the military (Orphanages, etc).

And the entire island, and everything on the island, is the exclusive property of one Prince Alexander Tyral Black, #1 Royal Square, Stronghold of Roan. Solicitors will be fed to the pirahnas.

And before anyone asks, the only type of schools in existence in Roania are state schools.

Oh, and Church schools, but since the government provides the financial backing for both Roman Catholic and other religious schools, they're state schools too.

So, this new law is basically an 'officialisation'.

The Prince has slammed reports of communism in Roanian society. In a rare public appearance, he said "Taligari, just you wait... I'm coming for you."

After this cryptic remark, he vanished in a puff of smoke, laughing sinisterly.

Prime Councillor Alysanndra Ellestrea (OOC: In a Roanian context, Prime Councillor and Grand Vizier are used interchangably, because I feel that Councillor is easier to spell.) has dismissed reports that Roania intends to invade Taligari just because of a couple of insulting remarks.

Sources close to the RIAS suggest that assassinations may be in order instead.

Meanwhile, Alexander Black is preparing to meet with Overlady Sirithril to discuss the Councillor for Industry's bold new initiative.

((For bold new initiative, read "really dumb mistake"))
