Schiphol Int. Airport
DDR of Knootoss

------------------------------
Tim de Boer looked around curiously as he carefully threaded in the reserved section of the airport hall. He turned his head upward to the sealing, and then looked outside to a taxiing plane. The young man was still quite unsure of himself and he stepped slowly in what he believed was the right direction. A smiling blonde-haired woman in a blue Republican-KLM suit came his way: “This way please, Ambassador, your plane is ready.”
Ambassador, he wondered, it still sounds strange. I’m an ambassador., he felt a bit light-hearted as he tried to think of himself as the typical Knootian ambassador. If there is one thing I’m not then it is typical.” he reminded himself.
And then to think I studied economics in Knootcap university only a few years ago, he reminded himself, well, more then a ‘few’ years now.. Time had gone by fast for the young man. Tim had been there, the very start of the shadow war, the terrible elections.
Much time had passed. After the Shadow War, Tim had gone back to Knootoss together with the politicians from the government-in-exile in Lavenrunz. Continuing his studies was impossible, his live had been completely changed. He had had a relation with the Prime Minister, and his assassination prior to the war had been a big shock. That year, he has been but a mere shadow of himself: a depressed heap of misery. But the others had been there for him. As the country rebuilt itself and the scars of the bombings were removed, so was Tim rebuilding himself. Vogels’ friends and colleagues had been most helpful, and he had been taken into care by the family of one of the politicians. Living there, a new world had opened, suddenly he had connections who were willing to help him, people who saw in him a new Vogels. Or at least someone who reminded them of him. The boy had grown into a man, but the curiousness was still there in his beautiful brown eyes.
This should be a piece of cake if I am to believe Lousewies”*. , he reminded himself as he followed the KLM lady into the plane. He was surprised by the luxurious, leather clad seats of the aircraft that had been arranged for him. Decadence had slowly crept in as a habit of Knootian government officials after years of economic growth.
He sat down and went over his notes again… A nation in Europe, so it’ll be a short flight eastward from here. Civil Rights Lovefest according to the UN, just like the DDR. Former CACE nation, seceded due to Knootian diplomacy – sorta. He smiled as he remembered how exited Galadriël – the Elvish state-secretary of foreign affairs- had been. She had been dancing of joy at the party. Because of the PR benefits alone.
As the plane gained speed he turned to the more specific files. He was going to meet the Lietuveskan Vice President, Joseph Van Arsden. He glanced over the CV, it all seemed to be all right, and then concentrated on the attached picture. As he looked at it he immediately was attracted to the young man, posing casually with nice short hair. Almost like a model. He gently stroked the picture with his finger… We are about the same age too… I wonder. He tried to lose the thought. After all, this wasn’t a vacation trip to Ibiza but a diplomatic mission! I wonder if he’s taken…
The plane made it’s way over the European continent at tremendous speeds, heading east. Constantly east to the Socialist Republic. As if it was nothing, the plane passed over where the Iron Curtain once had divided the continent, and on it went… borders did not seem to exist for a Knootian ambassador in an ever globalising world…
From now on, he was free. Anyplace anywhere anytime …

(OOC--I love that song! :P )
The many people of the Blått Hus were scurrying about. For some reason, everyone was in a very good mood, and the President had decided to play music over the speakers. At the moment 99 Red Balloons by Nena was playing. It was quite a sight to see the maids dancing about as they did their daily chores.
The Vice President laughed when he heard the song come on. He got up and strided proudly down the hall. As he walked, people smiled at his umistakable charm. Joseph Van Arsden was quite a sight to see, at 6'2", and had a very slim build. He was bisexual, but in Lietuveska, such was not looked down upon at all. He finally came to the large oak door of the Presidential Office. He saw his personal assistant dancing as she passed him, looking like the dark chick off of The Breakfast Club. He laughed loudly at her and she smiled and took a sucker out of her mouth. "Good morning Joe!" He smiled happily. "Hey Gwen, how's it goin?" His casual manner was very appreciated in Lietuveska. It was hoped that one day he would be President. She waved as she danced away. He turned to knock on the door, and the President opened it.
He smiled as he saw Gwen dance by. "So how are you on this wonderful Sunday morning?" The VP replied with great honesty, "I'm fabulous. I just got a call from Hvittsted International informing me that the Knootian ambassador is on his way. I discussed this with the Knootian government about a month ago, and they suggested I should meet one of their ambassadors to improve relations." The President looked at him with a curious look. "Joseph Van Arsden, you wouldn't be trying to hook up with someone now would you?" The two laughed as "Lean on Me" came on. Adrian then said, "Well, have fun. But send a message from me that I appreciate the Knootians coming here, and of course Ambassador...?" The VP replied quickly. "Ah. Ambassador de Boer is completely welcome here, and if he doesn't stay, tell him I'm completely offended." He winked as he said the last sentence, and Joseph laughed. "Will do Adrian."
-------
Joseph Van Arsden had arrived at Hvittsted International Airport, ensuring that security was at its highest, especially in the area that Ambassador de Boer was scheduled to land. He made sure his cologne was still strong enough to be smelled, and Gwen laughed at him. "Joe, you've got to realize that no matter how good you smell, you're still the sexiest man alive. I'm surprised People magazine hasn't flooded your office with letters." He shook his head while laughing. "Gwen, you are an insane woman, do you know that?" She smiled. "I don't know. But I do know that if you act normal, Knootoss will become our closest and best ally." He smiled at her. "Thanks, Gwen. I appreciate that." Just then they saw the aircraft that was supposedly de Boer's coming into the airport and readying itself to land...

Tim stepped out of the plane that had parked near a giant slurf or some sort that led into the terminal. The sun had risen this bright Sunday-morning and it shone directly in his face. The Knootian ambassador rose his right hand to cover his eyes as he stepped off the mobile ladder. There he spotted a group of men (and women?) standing about waiting for his arrival. The tradition seemed somewhat like his arrivals in Lavenrunz, but the mood now was much more cheerful. “Well duh, there isn’t a war going on,” he reminded himself.
In the middle of the group stood a men whom he recognised from the picture on the intelligence sheet as Joseph Van Arsden. He approached the man with his hand outstretched. He flinched somewhat as the sun now shone in his eyes directly, but nevertheless he smiled. “Vice President”, he said as the two shook hands.

Joseph extended his hand out to greet de Boer. "Good afternoon. I'm very sorry I couldn't come to your nation and burndened you with this visit, but I hope you find our hospitality welcoming.
"This is my personal assistant, Gwen.." She smiled politely, and said, "Hello, pleasure meeting you." Joseph then turned de Boer to the terminal, and walked him to the door as he spoke.
"Lietuveksa is very welcoming to visitors and foreigners, and I'm very sure that you will be most welcome. You may do whatever you wish, and I'm going to be available during your entire stay. Ah, here we are.."
The doors were opened by guards, and the VP insisted that de Boer go first. He took a peek at the caboose of the train for a second, and then smiled as Gwen caught his eyes wandering. She nearly laughed, but held it in.
They reached the other end of the airport, where the entrance was, and boarded the limousine. Joseph than began rambling about the culture of Lietuveska, and telling de Boer about the Getzchechen (Senate). Joseph stopped for a moment, and said apologetically, "I'm sorry if I'm driving you insane with my rambling. I just love talking.."

“That’s quite all right”, replied Tim. He had never been such a talker, being rather shy in fact. He strongly remembed the embarrassment that had come from talking about his… relationship with the Prime Minister. Even if it had been drug-induced the first time, he had been fully aware when he had to rectify it later. The prying eye of the nation had made him even more inward-focussed.
He found it difficult to concentrate due to Josephs’ potent musk that couldn’t leave the limousine. It took his mind to… other things. He forced himself to focus, and asked what he thought was a good follow-up question as he turned his head to look at Josephs’ face:
“You have a very interesting political system. I’m sure that being a European socialist nation, and a democracy with strong religious feelings brings some challenges for the system does it not?”

(OOC: Sorry about the long wait. )
Joseph turned and looked him, listening intently. "Well, yes it does in some instances. But unlike many nations that judge the word 'religion', we open religion to mean the worship of any deity, or as in the case of Buddhism, a sacred practice considered wholesome and necessary to one's life. This definition rarely causes any political problems, though we have lately come into contact with what to do with religious sects aptly labeled 'cults' and there has been strong demand from radicals to legalize cannibalism. I've also gotten more letters from concerned Lietuvs about the fitting of Satanism under the protection of the law. I too am deeply concerned, as in some instances, satanic rituals involve human sacrifice and some satanists readily try to destroy the moral and legal fabric of this country. It is little known to outsiders because the issue is sugar-coated, but Lietuveska is actually facing a crisis in this sense. As you may know, Lietuveska is comprised of approximately 233 million Christians, mostly Lutheran or Catholic, or 75% of the population. The far right of the LCP (Lietuv Conservative Party) has called the falling number of Christians in the USSL a disastrous crisis. I would say that is an exaggeration, but it is quite puzzling that the number of Christians has dropped 10% in the past eight years. At any rate, Lietuveska is divided, much to the ignorance of most of the world." Joseph smiled after he finished and looked into the Ambassador's eyes. He found himself thinking things that he shouldn't think about a delegate of any country. Joseph marveled at Tim's well-defined figure, and then caught himself. He grabbed a glass of water and began sipping it, trying to wipe the thoughts from his head.

Tim noticed being checked out, and blushed slighly. "This can't be happening..."
He replied, somewhat unsettled, "Well, uhm, it would seem to be a perfectly normal process. After all, most European nations are becoming more secular all the time... Lietesuvka is still surprisingly strong...", he looked at the arms of the vice PM, "on tradition."

Joseph smiled when he saw Tim blush, and smiled again when he saw the side glance at his arm. At this, Joseph decided to start his flirting routine. He raised his arms above his head, bent them back and arched his back to show off his perfect figure while he stretched. This move usually threw off any looker, and Gwen saw his move. She then opened a book and smiled behind it.
"Sorry about that. Had to stretch," he said in a slightly teasing way. "But yes, we are a nation of strong tradition. However, most Lietuvs recognize the need to make government and religion separate entities. I'm very grateful for the education of our citizens, otherwise there would be a huge culture war." He then lay his hand on Tim's leg. "Wouldn't you say so?"
Gwen looked up and had a very hard time to suppress a laugh. She took a large gulp of water to prevent her laugh from coming out, and nearly choked. She recovered herself, all the while remaining completely silent, except for a small cough. Sly devil, he is..

”What the…” he blushed even deeper. The Knootian managed to control himself. But this situation was definitely not described in the book of diplomatic behavioural protocol. ”Well, it does say that I’m supposed to maintain professional distance” He was a bit relieved, and repeated it to himself "Professional distance."
His hand gently pushed aside Josephs. He intended it to be a brushing gesture of ‘don’t do this’, but Joseph didn’t get it and they ended up holding hands for a moment. Tim’s hands were warm. He put the Vice-presidents hand back in his own lap.
With a wildly distracted voice he replied.
“uhm… yes that, uhm, education is important… what of course… uhm… you were saying?”

The Vice President was a little confused for a moment, and then just kept it there. He then nearly laughed at the sound of Tim's voice. Soon the limousine stopped, and he removed his hand from Tim's lap. "Well, we're here.."
Joseph stepped out of the limo when his driver opened the door, as he was closely followed by Gwen, and then Tim. They had arrived at the Blått Hus, and it looked more spectacular than ever. Television cameras were rolling and photographers were snapping away, as reporters shouted questions. Police officers had no trouble keeping them in their places, as there was harsh punishment for breaking crowd lines, usually a six-month jail sentence and a hefty fine of $5,500.
All reporters were kindly ignored as the group made its way to the doors.
"Welcome to the Blått Hus, Ambassador de Boer," the Vice President said with a hearty smile.

"Thank you", said Tim, and he nodded to the Lietuv. The Vice-Presidents maneuvers had caught the young Knootian off guard, and he found himself wondering. "dang... I forgot what we're supposed to do now"
Tim stood a bit uncomfortable, shifting his weight from one leg to another. "maybe I'll get a tour or something... or some lunch. Mhhh... lunch would be nice.". He looked at Joseph questioningly.
An awkard silence ensued, and the Knootian broke the silence by coughing lightly. "Uhm... I seem to have misplaced the programme for the day. Was lunch supposed to be now, or later?" He smiled, making it sound unimportant.

Joseph smiled. "Ah, yes of course. I suppose you're hungry, and so am I. I suppose we can wait for the tour. Follow me.."
Joseph led him down the large hallway, which was brightly decorated with red and pink, to signify it was Valentine's Day. The black marble floor was brightly shined, and the walls were a beautiful navy blue, with dozens of paintings varying in style, from Baroque to Impressionist to Picasso. They walked up to a bronze door, which was knocked upon.
When it was opening, a dazzling room was shown. It was a huge room, mainly used for banquets. Little tables with white, draping tablecloths were placed strategically all over. Golden utensils, and exquisite wine glasses were also on the tables. The ceiling was domed, and was actually a large screen to display any picture that was wanted. Usually the President had the outside weather displayed, and currently it was gray and gloomy, with snowflakes drifting around. (Nobody knew how, but most suspected a camera that faced upward into the sky sat on the roof of the Blått Hus)
"Welcome to the Grand Ballroom. I suppose we can sit here.." Joseph pulled out a chair, which was a beautiful cherrywood one, that was upholstered with a beautiful navy blue.

Tim admired the impressive room and wondered how the system worked. Pretty neat, he pondered. He sat down in the chair, together with Joseph.
“Perhaps we can talk business?”, he asked. Joseph nodded kindly. ((I’m taking that prerogative. ;) ))
The Knootian put one leg over the other and sat down comfortably: “I would like to discuss Knootian-Lietuveska relations and the future of our nations.”, he stated, “You see, the Knootian government would very much like close ties with Lietuveska. A good neighbour in Europe is as important as a distant friend, don’t you agree?”
He waited for a possible answer before he continued: “I am allowed to make an offer of free trade between our nations, for as far as this is possible with your economy. I’m sure it will benefit us both greatly. Economic Affairs can work out the details, should you agree.” He smiled, assuming an unobtrusive posture. Also, my government believes it would be a great idea for Lietuveska to join UnAPS, the United Alliance of Progressive States”. He looked up again, and their eyes met for a moment.

Joseph nodded kindly at the statement, and said rather intellectually, "I feel that it should be the goal of Lietuveska to try as hard as it can to further relations with nations it has come in contact with, and establish relations with those of the same goals. I completely agree with you, of course." He smiled and listened further.
"Ah yes, Adrian requested that I discuss a free trade agreement, as our economy is strong enough to pose as a good trading partner...I am most certainly interested in that, and I will call the Minister of Trade tonight to inform her to call your government." At the mention of an alliance, the Vice President sounded most sincerely interested.
"We have been searching for an alliance for a long while, and just recently we were accepted into a new one by the name of The Egalitarian Commission. I think that if several large nations joined, we could get a larger crowd..Anyway, what exactly is the message and goal of UnAPS," he asked as a waiter placed two glasses filled with ice water on the table. He took a sip as he listened to Tim's explanation. Something about his eyes...

“Hmm… the egalitarian commission, I believe it is headed by Feline, is it not? Well, feline is a member of the UnAPS too. I think that your nation would fit in very well.”
He looked down for a moment, and felt a bit like a door-to-door salesman. “Here is a copy of the alliance constitution”, de said as he handed a document to the Vice-President. But he looked up again, and allowed his eyes to interlock with Josephs. He just continued speaking of UnAPS, explaining in a pleasant tone what the alliance was about. He did skip quite a bit though on the boring parts on organisational structure. Joseph, meanwhile, nodded understandingly but Tim did decide to give him an opening for questions. An opening he used to ‘scan’ Joseph again. “Just for body language, of course”
He took a sip from the ice water, allowing the cold liquid to slide down his throat slowly.
The UnAPS Constitution
Article I – Introduction
Section I: All members of the United Alliance of Progressive States –hereafter referred to using the acronym “UnAPS,” are required to abide by the rules and regulations defined in this constitution.
Section II: Violators of these rules that are identified, will, with a vote of two-thirds majority of all members, be immediately ejected from the alliance and from the Haven region.
Article II – Values and Goals of UnAPS
Section I: The UnAPS alliance is an organization of sovereign states. We are brought together in the pursuit of universal human rights and for the promotion of progressive social and/or economic policies. All members are pledged to protect each other in the event of war, so long as the member involved was not identified as the aggressor in the conflict. If a majority of two-thirds of all members vote that a particular nation is consistently not supporting allies when they have the means to do so, that nation will be ejected from the alliance.
Section II: UnAPS nations pledge to respect the rights of all sentient beings and not to discriminate against such beings based on race, ethnicity, religion or sexual preference. Violators will be punished as outlined in Article I, Section II of this constitution.
Section III: UnAPS nations pledge to oppose tyranny, aggression and imperialism wherever these vices MAKE THEMSELVES KNOWN. Nations or alliances that oppress their people or engage in imperialistic or aggressive wars are deemed enemies of the alliance.
Article III – Structure of the UnAPS alliance
Section I: The UnAPS leadership will be composed of seven Secretaries. Elections will be held every fourth Friday of each month. The Wednesday of that fourth week will be the start of official campaigning. On the fourth Friday, polls will open and elections will be held. The polls will last until the Sunday of that week. The office must be occupied the first Monday after the close of the polls when the winner is identified.
Section II: The seven Secretaries are: General Secretary, Secretary of War, Secretary of Diplomacy, Secretary of Policy, Secretary of Intra-Alliance Relations, Secretary of Intelligence and the Secretary of Alliance Structure.
Section III: The General Secretary will handle all odd jobs in the alliance and will be viewed as the alliance’s chair-nation. All nations wishing to join the alliance must first contact the General Secretary. Furthermore, the General Secretary of the alliance will be considered the legitimate United Nations delegate of the official alliance region. The General Secretary must be a resident of that region and a member of the United Nations. The General Secretary will also manage lists of alliance members. He is required to telegram the Secretary of Alliance Structure upon the arrival of new members! .
Section IV: The Secretary of War is considered the head of alliance military operations. Furthermore, he is expected to be ready and willing to go to war, leading and organizing alliance coalitions. When not directly involved in a coalition, the Secretary of War may appoint a member of that coalition as the official UnAPS head. However, under no circumstances is it mandatory for all other members of the coalition to follow the directions of any alliance coalition leaders. The position is only the official leadership preference of the UnAPS alliance.
Section V: The Secretary of Diplomacy is required to, along with the General Secretary, to act as the public face of the alliance. He is responsible for conducting all major diplomatic negotiations with outside nations and alliances. This position does not exclude other diplomatic action taken by other members of the alliance if they see fit.
Section VI: The Secretary of Policy is responsible for managing the creation of new UnAPS internal policy and for the management of new amendments to the constitution. All arrangements and suggestions for policy change must be initiated through this office. The Secretary must post all such suggestions and cannot determine which is of value and which is not.
Section VII: The Secretary of Intra-Alliance Relations is responsible for maintaining good relations between members of UnAPS and mediating disputes between nations. The Secretary is also expected to perform the duties as judge in the UnAPS court, pass and enforce decisions of justice and punishment on fellow nations. Ref: Article VII.
Section VIII: Secretary of Intelligence: The Secretary of Intelligence is responsible for covert and espionage operations. His main jobs include negotiating with possible defectors and attempting to plant spies in other alliances. He is required to submit findings to the alliance for review (See Article IV).
Section IX: The Secretary of Alliance Structure is responsible for managing the transition of members of the Outer Alliance to the Inner Alliance. He is required to write up reports on possible candidates for promotion and screen out distasteful nations. He is required to maintain contact with the General Secretary and telegram him with information regarding promotions.
Article IV – Inner and Outer Alliances
Section I: The UnAPS alliance is comprised of two sections; the Inner and Outer alliances. The Outer Alliance is composed of all members. The Inner Alliance is composed of a special group of nations that have been deemed responsible, and trustworthy. These nations will have full access to all UnAPS resources.
Section II: Nations wishing to enter UnAPS must make their intention clear to the General Secretary. To become a member of the alliance, it is only required that the candidate meet certain civil rights and political freedoms requirements. All nations must have at least “above average” civil rights. However, if political freedoms are “some” or fewer, they must have no less than “good” civil rights.
Section III: Members of the Outer Alliance who are considered valuable enough to the alliance to be promoted to the Inner Alliance are to undergo a review process whereby the Secretary for Alliance Structure is to write a report and submit it for voting to the Inner Alliance body. This is outlined in Article III, Section IX.
Section IV: All members of the alliance who have been members for at least one week will have the right to vote for all secretary positions excluding the Secretary of Alliance Structure. They will also have the right to vote on official UnAPS declarations of war (see Article V) and the right to reside in the alliance region.
Section V: All members of the Inner Alliance will have the right to view all alliance information. They will furthermore be allowed to vote for the Secretary of Alliance Structure.
Article V – Declarations of War
Section I: The UnAPS alliance can, under some circumstances, vote to go to war, committing every available member to the conflict. Such declarations of war are only to be made if a majority of nations *within the alliance* vote to declare war.
Section II: If war is declared, all nations within the alliance are required to immediately declare war upon the object of the declaration. Any nation that refuses to do is eligible to face punishment as outlined in Article I, Section II. The Secretary of War has the official obligation to notify to the target of the declaration of the intent of the alliance.
Article VI – Enemies and Allies
Section I: The alliance will keep a list of enemies and allies of the alliance.
Section II: An “enemy of the alliance” is defined as a nation or alliance that is considered a threat to the national security or policy goals of the member states of UnAPS, or close military allies of important enemies of the alliance. Member nations are required not to engage in alliance with such nations.
Section III: An “ally of the alliance” is defined as any nation or alliance considered a friend to the goals of UnAPS. Member states are required to defend allies if attacked and provide diplomatic support when needed. Furthermore, they are not to go to war with allies unless permission is given by a majority vote of the alliance.
Section IV: To define a nation or alliance as an enemy of ally, a vote must be made of all Outer Alliance nations.
Article VII: The UnAPS Court
Section I: The Secretary of Intra-Alliance Relations is the presiding judge and passes and enforces sentencing.
Section II: Any member may present founded charges to be brought before the courts and act as the prosecutor. The defending nation must appear and justify these charges. Failure of appearance of the defendant is a presumption of guilt.

Joseph read over the constitution thourougly, and examined the structure very closely. He nodded at a few areas, and his eyes lit up at a few others. "Hmm, this seems like a very interesting and strong alliance. I am definately intrigued, and I would love to know more about it. I am most interested in Lietuveska having the position of Secretary of Diplomacy. How exactly does that department run? How many members are in UnAPS? Who leads it? He seemed to think for a moment: “At this moment, diplomacy is run by someone from the Free Provinces of Copiosa Scotia. A Civil Rights Lovefest in the Massassi Jungle. I believe the secretary of Diplomacy was a gentleman named Kastner.”
He eyed Joseph: “Of course, one can always challenge the secretary in the monthly elections. You do need to have a strong will, and a good… uh, case.”

Joseph led the way down the hallway until he came to his own office. As he opened the door, he beckoned Tim in, and shut the door.
Joseph's office was much like the president's, though less spacious. The large executive desk in the rear of the room was backed by large windows, in which one could see the Atlantic Ocean. Joseph looked out of it momentarily, sat, and encouraged Tim to sit. "I understand what just happened was rather...confusing. Tim leans against the desk, now very conscious of their official functions:
“Uhm… don’t feel bad about yourself”, said Tim comfortingly. “I’m perfectly all right and you weren’t exactly the only one involved… it is not you, its…”
He was silent for a moment, checking with the Lietuvs face. He knew rationally that these things had to be said… but still this felt a bit like rejection. And there were the memories of course. “Maybe we should just finish our business, mr. Vice-President?” He tried to say it formally, but there was a hint of emotion that drifted on his vocal cords. “I mean, well, I’ve.. well… uhm.” He turned around, staring to the Ocean outside with his head bowed.
OOC:
Not to correct you on your own geography but wouldn’t that window be overlooking the Baltic?

OOC: Sorry, I forgot to mention that I moved to a new region. With that, my location changed. Here's a map: http://img29.photobucket.com/albums/v86/Matt2003/NS%20Stuff/lietuvMAP.jpg
And if I still was located where I used to be, then you'd be right! :P

The Vice President nodded, and smiled after Tim started trailing off. "Alright. No hard feelings," he said with a sincere tone. He then turned and looked behind him, admiring the sparkling blue ocean. Finally, he sighed. "The President has taken on a very conservative approach as of late. I have a feeling that our own conservative trend by the people will lead to his changing parties..I do not know. Either that, or the Lietuv people will put enough political pressure, what with the LCP (Lietuv Conservative Party) winning the latest Getczechen elections..I'm very troubled by it all.." He sighed and continued. "So, what about trade? I presume that Knootoss is willing to be in a free trade agreement? Lietuveska has very little to offer. However, what we don't have, we make up for with the great abudance of what we do have."

Tim turned around again, away from the waves rolling on and off the Lietuv coast. He snapped out of the isolation he so much wanted now, time to reflect. Josephs face again.
He was silent for a moment, refraining comment on the Lietuv domestic political situation. For an ambassador it was a non-topic, usually. He then replied professionally to the trade proposal instead.
"Hmmm... well, I'm sure that the ministry of Economic Affairs will jump to
the occasion. A definite yes on that one."

Joseph smiled and nodded. "Well, I guess it's time to call it a day. Your room is on the second floor, and here's the key." Joseph reached in a desk drawer and pulled out a single key. "If you need anything you can call 933, and the Blått Hus Staff Operator will immediately tend to any of your needs. I know it's only mid-afternoon...how about dinner tonight around 7:30. I know of a great spot on the beach." He smiled, hoping the answer would be yes.

Tim nodded, and accepted the key. "I'd love to", he replied. He waved with his free hand and closed the door behind him.
