Symondia: Welcome to Our Country.

16-01-2004, 08:18
The Most Serene Republic of Symondia is a tiny, devout nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 5 million are free to succeed or fail in life on their own merits; the successful tend to enjoy an opulent (but moralistic) lifestyle, while the failures can be seen crowding out most jails.

The tiny, moralistic government concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Religion & Spirituality and Commerce are secondary priorities. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 1%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Soda Sales, Furniture Restoration, and Gambling industries.

Crime is a serious problem. Symondia's national animal is the Desert Hawk, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Checko.

Greetings fellow denizens of the NS world! I am President Alex Higgs of the Most Serene Republic of Symondia, also known as the M.S.R.S., I'm currently just beginning the first year of my first 10-year term in Office, and I'd like to start out my time here by introducing you to the land that is Symondia, for starters we're a tiny little nation about the size of the Independent Principality of Andorra, we're on a large island, and we are surrounded by several nations, some of which are smaller than our little nation, which has only 185 square miles of territory, our economy is partially maintained by a Slave Labor Force, which I support, as I believe the best sort of society is one in which one portion of the people support another portion, our military consists of the Presidential Guard, which is exactly 1,000 men, no women are allowed in our military at all, the Presidential Guard is lightly armed, usually armed only with light body armor and pistols, some of them armed with the faithfull old M-14, they stay around the President for the most part, I'm considering enlarging this force, if you want to know more about Symondia, give us a call!
