What do yas think? All the physics and realism making it hard for the imagination to work? Tell me!

Nah! i'm not forcing my views on Modern Tech players, and they do the same to me. The two can co exsist, as long as one does'nt bog RP's down with details and "you can't do that" comments. Wars can work if the ones playing wants to have a fun and long RP, instead of pulverizing from the space :D or something of the sort..

Well, no. (allthough I play in a near future nation). Since I dont give a rats ass in realism. I only care about good RPing ( I try as hard as I can).
Im not a strategic master, nor am I a Yale student. Im just a regular guy who wants to RP.
If someone else wants to bring up all the details in a gun how it works, fine by me. As long as they dont force me to care about it.

i try to keep it realistic, but thats only so i dont do anything uber farfetched. anyway, im a mix of modern and future, because my nations government didnt bother making much more advanced land weaponry because we knew how things worked on earth and how things didnt. but when it comes to space, we have a tiny fleet and its made up of only 3 cap. ships.
but i never bother anyone really when i play either modern or future rps.

Forum RP should be about imagination and good story, not stats. A godmodded war is bad from both a story point of view, so there is no need to worry about realism or stats. I understand that in war RPs people are more interested in winning than making a good story and that is why I concentrate mostly on character-RPs, though international diplomacy can be interesting too.

I like realism. I like reality, and physics. And I'm future tech. That is all I have to say on this.

I like to keep one foot in reality, or at least possible reality. Just jumping into the super-science stuff without having any clue what drawbacks and limitations of the thing are seems to weaken RP quite a bit.

My stuff is also not so out of hand that modern tech RPers could theoretically interact with it. But then they'd have to drop their blanket ignores. We can't have that!

I tend to like the story more than the physics, although as the fact that playing NS has gotten me to buy over twenty physics books, I can say that I also like some realism in my technology.

Physics==good;
Story that conforms to physics==good;
Story that bends the rules a little bit for artistic license==good;
Story that owes its entire existance to defiance of physics==bad;

I was laughing because this was a parody of a reversed...and much more serious thread.

I find the majority of "modern-exclusives" arrogant, warmongering heretics who speak a lot yet say little.

However, unlike those in the previous thread, I'm not about to do something as stupid as discriminate upon tech level. :roll:
