Testing the Translight Molecular Deconstruction Gate (Open)

THe FHSV Viper, the best Capitol Ship ever constructed for the Foe Hammer Armada, sat waiting in front of a large structure. Laser pulses silently shot about in the vacuum, combining into larger rays, which in turn combined with others to form a massive Wormhole-like Phenomina.
"FHSV Viper, Gate systems checks have been completed. Generators to full, Translight Capacitors online, Matter Conversion Transducers operational. You are cleared to enter the gate at any time."
Admiral Gu'llard gently tapped the manuevering thruster controls of the large vessel and eased it directly in front of the large gate. He pulled back his finger, brushing it against a rather sharp piece of metal. He winced as a small amount of blood built up under the cut flesh. "Ops, disengage all unnecessary vessel systems. Nav, engage engines, charge Translight Generators to match Gate Generator output."
The station officers began to work, and soon after, all were ready to bet their lives on the intellect of the engineers, scientists and workers who constructed those gates.
Nav reported, "Sir, sending telemetry and astropositioning data. Gate aligning... Sir, gate is aligned and operational. Contact acquired with receiving gate. All's ready."
Admiral Gu'llard quietly sighed, and issued the command that could either change the way humankind traverses the galaxy, or kill his entire crew right then and there. Every soldier and every citizen onboard this vessel, the vessel under his command, would be affected by his immediate actions.
Gu'llard sighed once more, wiping sweat from his forehead. He reached deep into his pocket, revealing a picture of an average-looking family - his family.
"...Do it."
"Sir, engaging Pulsejet thrusters... Entering gate."
Blue and purple motes of light formed around the entire vessel.
There was a large flash... and Gu'llard could see no more. "Jesus..." His words echoed as if he were in the center of a colosseum. He couldn't feel his legs... or anything, for that matter. He heard no other voices. And then...
Another flash of light, penetrating the blackness, caught Gu'llard's attention.
He looked down. He saw the steel plated floor of the Bridge. Looking up, he saw the Data board, normal as ever, with data flowing across the glass structure. To his right, the AI Holoprojector shone bright as ever. He sighed a sigh of relief, and stumbled back into his command chair."
To be continued... I think.

"SIR! We're receiving a sensor echo!"
"What? Have there been any ships destroyed in the area?"
"No, sir."
"Are you sure? That doesn't make any sense. Wait..... retarget the sensors for a direct reading."
"We are now reading a ship! Shape and size correspond with known Foe Hammer vessels. This doesn't make any sense...."
"Send out a comm transmission. I want a ship identification and explanation, right ****ing now!"
"Transmission sent, sir!"

"Attention unidentified vessel, this is Lieutenant Jeffersil Ryd of the Klonor Space Corps. You are trespassing in Klonor terriotory. Identify yourself immedietly, or you will be fired upon."

"Attention Lieutenant Ryd of unknown Klonor Sensor Outpost, this is Admiral Gu'llard of the FHSV Viper on special assignment. The Viper has just conducted a test of the Translight Molecular Deconstruction Gate. Requesting docking clearance at the nearest station to evaluate event outcome."
The bridge crew let out a giant cheer, highly audible over the Comm channel. Gu'llard clicked off the channel and smiled, admiring the sensor charts popping up on the Bridge Display.
"The Translight what? Ensign, get on the line to FleetCom, find out what the hell he's talking about."
-----7.856395638567395463 minutes later-----
"Sir, you might want to look at this....."
-----Another 3.483795839573057393 minutes spent reading the report-----
"Holy......"
Transmission Opened:
"Attention FHSV Viper, you have been cleared to dock. Please proceed to Installation Riviera in orbit over the second planet. We apologize for any inconvenience."
"God, I'm gonna be cleaning toilets for the trainees now"

"Thank you, Lieutenant."
"Nav, set best course, full speed for the installation."
"Aye, sir."
Gu'llard sat back for a few minutes of relaxation while the Viper silently sped towards the installation.
The Duke, obviously uncomfortable in his formal dress uniform, walks up to the podium in front of the numerous transmission devices (Trekkie type video cameras).
"To our fellow members of the Stars, greetings! I speak to you now on the doorstep of an unfathomable new Era, a time when opportunities shall open like the petals on a blossoming flower."
He pauses for a drink (Water, or vodka? Who knows?)
"Until this time, our seperate nations have been seperated by the gulf of Space. Our seperate technologies of going faster than light are all limited by two things, distance and speed. The further the destination, the longer it takes. If the destination is to far there might not even be enough fuel to reach it. This has limited us in to many ways."
Another drink (This guy is either really hydrated, or his blood alcohol level is shooting through the roof)
"The Translight Molecular Deconstruction Gate, jointly developed, constructed, and tested by the nations of Klonor and Foe Hammer, shall pave a new road. Uninhibted by distance, this device can transport any vessel, of appropriate size, to any other Gate in the Universe almost instantaneously."
More drinking (Man, this guy can really hold his liquor)
"Join us, and we may enter a brand new age of travel, trade, and prosperity."
With that he turns of the transmitters, takes one last drink, and passes out.

Gu'llard, sitting in a chair to the left of the podium, stood as men dragged the downed Duke off to the side. "Maybe I should have made the speech," He muttered under his breath. He waved, smiled, and followed the Stagehands off of the large platform.
OOC: Other nations, this is open. You can all post stuff in it
OOC: Come on, we put a lot of thought into this thing! Nobody has anything to say?

In the words of myself earlier on AIM after learning of the post abstainance - "FUCKER!!!"
BUMP for somebody to say something
Come on, isn't anybody interested? We may have just revolutionized inter-stellar travel! Thousands of light-years in seconds! How is nobody interested?
Okay, anybody who gets involved gets the rights to use the Gates!

Gu'llard sat in the Pilot's chair of the small Dropship. He flipped open the visor on his helmet and observed underside Vessel Dock Tango. Everything was in order. But... Something just didn't look right. Gu'llard kicked in the engines and flew in for a closer look.
"Engage dorsal camera two, please," He requested. He flipped down his visor, and a small video appeared. "Zoom 10, Grid Sierra-Four."
The area was enlarged and no errors were found, but Gu'llard just couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. "Overlap existing Liberty-class Super Battleship specifications. Engage evaluation mode of selected area."
The onboard AI processed the command, and the design was overlapped, matching perfectly. "Sir, I'm detecting no errors. Shall we move on?"
"Aye..."
Later, on the deck, a Med Officer ran up to the Admiral. "Sir! You've got to see this, sir!" The officer turned to the bridge entrance and shouted, "Bring him in!"
A man was brought in, dressed in Marine Combat gear. He stood at attention. "Sir, Private Jason Derylz. I was wounded in our last engagement. My leg was blown off."
Gu'llard looked at the boy's leg...s. He had a pair of legs, absolutely nothing missing. "Is this a joke?"
"No, sir. I didn't have a second leg... until after the Gate test. I woke up and... it was there."
Gu'llard looked again, and then glanced at his finger. There was dried blood... yet no wound.
<ooc: tag!>
<Also, where have I heard of this before? It sounds familiar...>
<In conclusion, it sounds really interesting... But I can't see how I could get involved at the moment... Gah, limiting myself to STL drives!>
Well, it's not really an FTL drive. It's like a jump-gate, you disappear at one Gate and it teleports you to a different Gate. You can keep all your ships and technology at STL, yet still use these gates
"Sir?"
"Yes?"
"Netsearch has found a news release from Klonor. They've invented a Gate."
"Klonor, eh?"
"And Foe Hammer."
"Hrmm..."

Congratulations on your achievement.
For research and study, may we have a copy of the mathmatical principles used in this device?
Technical details are not necessary, just the math.
This could bring us just that little bit closer to our goal...

We regret to inform you that the mathmatical equations are still classified information. We would be willing to construct Gates for your use, but the technology is off limits for now.

Message received.
Unfortunately, we have nothing that really requires transport via Gate.
We are attempting to collect as much data of this nature as possible, in the hopes that we can help use it to return to our home.
