An Interlude

Red banners with swasticas and party slogans labeled on them in bold print fluttered in the midnight wind. Trash and loose confetti from a parade the previous day blew through the streets, and in the fog that shrouded the city they resembled moving shapes, shadows, or phantoms, perhaps. Such would be an odd place to find a one-time-Jew-now-Discordian, but there Jai was, in the middle of Nazi Dreisden, standing on the balcony having a smoke. Eris, still sleeping in their lavish hotel room, was seeming uneffected by this place, but Jai couldn't help but wonder how many of his kinsmen were persecuted each day for being who they were. He needed to go home in the worst way, he had a corporation to run, but he also had to be a diplomat. After the Iesus war started during his stay, he had to extend his presence in this place for almost an entire month now, and it was starting to wear on his sanity. If it wasn't for Eris, he would've surely lost his mind by now and would've run through the streets with a lighter burning anything with a swastica on it. He smiled at the irony of this, being kept sane by an insane goddess. He supposed that it was what he liked about her, the fact that you never knew what to expect when being with her. His business life was monotonous, and Eris brought some much-needed relief to his regular boredom. How glad he was that she chose him, and that he chose her.
Jai then looked to the stars and wondered where Sara was now. He remembered the last news report he got was from a Roanian crusier that had gotten infected with the Dark Storm virus, which Sara was somehow able to weild. He wondered how she ever came into contact with the virus, and how she was able to use it to disable the cruiser. Or maybe it was just coincidence that the virus disabled the cruiser just as it fired on the ship with Sara in it. But no, he thought, nothing in this world is coincidence. Chaos determines fate, and no matter how random something is, it was ment to be. Besides, the virus is sentient, it probably did that of its own will because it wanted to protect Sara for some reason. He wondered whether to trust the virus or not, seeing as Resi Corp DID create it and all. But the nature of the virus told him that by saving Sara, it was doing something sinister, which would explain why his intuition was acting up again. Or maybe it was the posters everywhere that read "Töten Sie die Juden", who could tell?
As Jai re-entered his hotel room to curl up into bed with the woman of his dreams, his last thoughts were of Sara, and how much she must've changed in all the time sense he had been away. He took comfort in knowing that he'd see her soon enough, though, once he got out of this Nazi hell hole.

OOC: Wow, interesting. But...where does it fit in?((OOC: You have to know what's going on with my nation, as few people will. CEO Jai Resi, leader of this nation, has been on a diplomatic mission with his fiancee Eris Kallisti to Dreisden, the most Nazi country this side of the Reich. Sara Resi, his daughter (not with Eris), is currently re-entering the atmosphere at this point in a spaceship with her Roanian lover, a Roanian princess, and a Trevian pilot after being fired upon by Roanians. The Dark Storm Virus is a self-aware computer virus that we made that travels from computer to computer by sending smaller versions of itself assigned to complete one task to other computers. It's currently inside Sara Resi's computerized headband.))

OOC: Dude! Awesome plot!((OOC: It happens when you RP as much as I do. :P
I haven't even got into the half of it, or what WILL happen. I've only told what Jai knows, which again isn't the half of it.))

I do a lot of RPing myself. Mostly table-top, though. I'm still working out all the knots to forum RPing.

When you're a machine, life is a series of blips and fluctuations of various measurable variables, all written down and recorded perfectly on your internal drives. Rai, a free-thinking military machine, was no exception to this. Sense graduating from the Merc Academy in Steel Butterfly, he had been traveling from country to country in the guise of a human, buying or stealing more advanced parts and technologies for his ever-evolving body. He was always on the alert, searching for the signs of the newest technology, and what now piqued his interest was a factory in southern Piratica that was now making armor out of synthetic flawless diamond. After searching for and finding several flaws in the factory on the internet, he reached over to unplug himself from the broadband port on the wall. Suddenly, he stopped, sensing something new.
The Dark Storm Virus could hardly believe its luck. Not only was there a source large and fast enough to upload its full form on to, but it appeared to be sentient and weak to those offering more power. The virus' code smiled, as it made a duplicate copy of itself and sent the sinister data to its unfortunate recipiant.
Rai was quite literally knocked back by the incoming data. His head throbbed, he couldn't think. How'd this thing get around his firewall? No matter, he'd delete it manually.
"STOP." the virus said to him, "I AM ONLY IN YOUR HEAD BECAUSE I THINK I CAN HELP YOU WITH YOUR DIAMOND PROBLEM, OR AT LEAST ENHANCE YOUR SYSTEM A BIT WHILE YOU GIVE ME A PLACE TO STAY IN EXCHANGE."
Reaching back to its host, the virus then uploaded the newest version of all Resian robot programs into Rai's brain, essentially giving him a complete mental upgrade.
"SEE? I'M YOUR FRIEND. NOW CALM DOWN AND GO ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS. IT'LL BE LIKE I'M NOT EVEN HERE."
Rai unplugged himself from the internet, and stowed the cable inside his metallic skull. He wondered for a second about this new presence, but he decided that it was benign enough to be ignored. It was probably the coding on a robot brain kept in captivity, he finally decided, that just wanted to be free.
But when the virus decided to strike, Rai wouldn't know what hit him.

OOC: Hmm, well I think the Nazi nation is actually Der Kreigsmarine.
Second what happened to the war thread or did that just get deleted for all purposes.
IC:
InSD had noted that Jai Resi and Empress Eris were still in Dresden. Although why was still somewhat of a question.
edit: I was eating a golden apple.

((OOC: War thread... died. It turned into a big ignore fest because most of the Reich blamed me for ignoring the thread, while in fact I had a really really HUGE matter to attend to in my personal life. But you know the story.
And Eris and Jai have been in Dreisden for some time, because Jai can't move unless Eris moves with him.))

OOC: One word, stated in complete awe and respect for this plotline: Daaaaamn....
This is some deep stuff man. Keep up the good work.
edit: I was eating a golden apple.
I'm not sure whether I should be pleased or worried that I got that reference...
Great storyline, as ever. I look forward to seeing what the Dark Storm virus gets up to now it has, in effect, a physical body...

((OOC: Before reading this next part, you should be aware of what Sara's headband actually is. By reading her brainwaves, the computer inside of the circlet responds to her thoughts so that she can command it much as a regular person commands their arms. The headband has in it millions of self-replicating nanobots that can alter Sara's physical apperance, regenerate lost limbs, or even change what gender or spieces she is on the go. It should also be noted that the circlet can't regenerate a blow to the head, so a headshot is still instant death for her. Oh, and the virus is in her headband (we haven't said HOW yet) and can communicate with her mentally. Yeah, that would be a key plot point))
IC:
The entire ship trembled as it entered the Earth's atmosphere, the siding catching on fire from the immense friction. Sara, who wasn't buckled in, flew back against a wall and nearly passed out from the impact. She managed to maintain her consiousness, only to be faced with the immense pressure of re-entry and the knowledge that once the craft stopped, she would go flying.
"HOLD TIGHT, I'LL TAKE CARE OF THINGS. YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY A BIT."
"Thanks, Darky," Sara grunted, "but how do you propose that we not be turned into a pulp on the inside of the windsheild when this thing stops?"
"I HAVE AN IDEA, JUST CALM DOWN AND CUT THE SARCASM. IF YOU DIE I GO WITH YOU, AND TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THAT I DON'T WANT THAT."
"Right," Sara muttered, "your sense of self-preservation is something that I can trust, ever sense you blew off those ships back there."
And then, there was impact.
Sara calculated that there would be a full five seconds before she hit the opposite wall and was smashed beyond recognition, and during the first two seconds of that alloted time her life began to flash before her eyes. Xander... Alex... now Frederick... ((OOC note: all men she dated))
"Man," she thought, "My standards have gotten lower."
"BE THAT AS IT MAY, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR CURRENT SITUATION. I'D APPRECIATE IT IF YOU CONCENTRATED, LIKE I TOLD YOU TO."
"Whaaa? You never told me to..."
"SHUSH! JUST DO IT!"
"Aye, okay."
And suddenly, a thin silver net appeared in front of Sara. In caught her, stretched with the incredible force, then set her down when the ship came to a complete stop. The net then desentigrated into a fine silver mist, which then returned to her headband.
"Nanomachines..." Sara muttered before standing up, only to be knocked down again by the jolt of the spacecraft landing on firm ground. She quickly scooped herself up and hobbled over to the door, gasping.
"AND YOU DOUBTED ME..." the virus said with a chuckle.
OOC:
Nanotech - oooh, shiny. Want some.
May have to take a quick glance at your shopfront again, Resi - I've been meaning to make a few purchases for ages.
