What do you think is a good percentage of the population to have in an all professional medieval army.
The nation is warlike and underground and tends to use very highly trained units of light infantry. Living underground they would probably be lacking in cavalry, seige engines and other heavy equipment, large amounts of archers(instead using small amounts as snipers), long weapons and anything that might need to be turned around in a confined space.
I'm thinking around 2-3% for a large nation.
The weapon mix I'm playing on having is:
Conventional Infantry
crossbows
pikes
short swords
scimitars
Special Forces
short swords
hand crossbows(with poison bolts)
Each group of soldiers will also have at least one cleric and one wizard with them.
Your opinions?
