A tour for Foreign Delegates of the Land of Nandris

13-01-2004, 03:53
"Welcome delegates to the Land of Nandris. Please accept our most sincere apologies for the travel arrangements, we have been having some teething difficulties with the transport authorities of late."

Kradan could hear every word of his advisor as he twisted the robe of his father in his hands. The anguish of the untimely death played across his face. This would not be an easy meeting for Kradan but then, when had they ever been easy? A tear fell from his scarred eye, ran down his cheek and dripped onto the robe.

Staring out of the window across the industrial sector, Kradan’s new office was situated in the very heart of Trake, the capital city of Nandris. He could observe almost the entire city from his office. Although at this particular moment in time, this view could have been replaced by molten lava flowing down the mountainside and he wouldn’t have noticed.

“Erm… I’m sure our great leader will not delay any further in welcoming you to Nandris officially.” Mumbled the advisor, desperate for something to happen to relieve him of his post.

Grumbling from the crowd of unhappy delegates was growing and the advisor was growing more and more apprehensive with each second that passed. Some of the delegates now rising from their seats were loudly exclaiming how they didn’t have time to wait around in the circus.

The double doors opened silently and in swept Kradan. He was wearing his fathers robe. The delegates turned and went to speak. They caught his eyes and as if an unexplainable power came over them they stood there, in stunned silence.

“Leave.” Exclaimed Kradan. “You must leave now.”

“Sir…” started the advisor.

“We have travelled many miles to visit your country and you tell us to leave?” Shouted one of the delegates.

“The matter is not for discussion, you must leave now and not return till I give the word.” Said Kradan with almost a low growl to be heard underneath.

“We shall not return Kradan, you are not the sort of country we wish to include” Retorted the delegate who opposed previously.

“Then so be it” And with that, Kradan swept back into his office, sat down in his chair, turned to face the window and sank down into himself. “Why did you have to leave me now?”
