The archeologists had been sifting through what remained of the military compound. Supposedly, it had been abandoned with the fall of the Nietzscheans. However, the base had seen use in the last year, but it was mysteriously wrecked and empty. One young man found a small electronic video-journal amongst the wreckage. He didn't want his professor to confiscate his find, so he sat down in a corner and activated it. The first series of entry files were corrupted, but he shuffled through the list until the screen lit up.

"The subjects are taking well to the adaptations. We have managed to completely subdue the smaller breeds through trainers, with mental implants to control the creatures.
The larger breeds, however, are proving most resilient. I believe an organic implant into the cerebellum would solve our problems, but we have yet to formulate an adaquate implant. We will continue on...
Oh yes, and the humanoid is still in early development stages, but is coming along nicely. That's all for now..."

The young student looked up, wondering about what had happened there. He picked the video journal back up and hit the "start" button...

"Everything is running perfectly. We can now control the smaller breed flawlessly. We have even been able to command them to starve to death. Such complete control will greatly benefit the goal. The flying breed we began expiramenting with months ago are showing the same progress as the small breed. The humanoid project may have to be scrapped. The subject has become increasingly hostile and incontrollable.
Also, we recieved word that contact was lost with the expedition that brought us the samples to grow the creatures. According to final transmissions, they were overun...

"We have terminated the humanoid project. Something strange happened. The others began to behave strangely, and in unison. All except the humanoid. It stayed still, as if consentrating. Our sensors read massively high brain activity, and strange chemical responses throughout the breeds. This all started when we put that implant in its cerebrum. The others blamed the problems on me, even though my implant wasn't used. I am unphased though, and want to continue along with the project. Now that the humanoid is gone, the other breeds have returned to their more normal characteristics, and our trainers have regained control. We are going to try and subdue the flying breed in the next few weeks, or months depending on thier resilience."
