Exotic Ammunition

12-01-2004, 22:21
A short list of various exotic ammunition types avaliable for purchase. Some are designed to be effective against various types of mythical creatures, others are designed to defeat a particular type of body armor.

88B Scorpion $60/ Box
The 88B is a fragmentary round, that breaks up into smaller fragments as it continues through the target. This round is effective against unarmored personnel only, and has little effect on body armor.

13A Anti-Bot $100/Box
The 13A is a round designed to release an small discharge of EMP on impact, several rounds hitting in rapid succession will shut down advanced computer systems.

57C Black Widow $95/Box
The 57C is a popular round with the DNPD. This contains a small impact explosive in the head of the bullet. It is useful for penetrating advanced body armor, up to a LvIV tactical vest, and also for opening doors. The 57C is particularly devistating against unarmored personnel. 57C ammuntion can explode prematurely if the ammunition, or the weapon loaded with the ammunition, is dropped. The rounds detonate only 49% of the time in these occurances.

66V Anti-Vampire $600/ Box
The 66V is truly an exotic round. It is based off of advanced tracer technology that produces ultraviolet light. On impact, the round releases ultraviolet light, which will efficently kill a vampire with a single hit.

79L Anti-Lycan $450/ Box
The 79L is another expensive, specialty round. The bullet itself is a shatter-resistant polymer, which disintegrates after entering the target. The round is filled with a silver-nitrate mixture that will enter the bloodstream of a Lycan (Werewolf), killing it within moments in most cases. In some cases, a second or third round will be needed to kill the target, but one round will incapacitate 97% percent of the time.

23A Quicksilver $250/ Box
The 23A is a cheaper alternative to the 79L. The 23A is a bullet made of purified silver, which will burn the flesh of a Lycan on contact. Several rounds are needed to effectively kill a Lycan, as regeneration will push the rounds back out of the target's body.

65V Jahovah $200/ Box
The 65V is a cheaper alternative to the 66V. The 65V is a hollow bullet containing a small metal crucifix. The bullet itself disintegrates after entering the target. 65V rounds do not promise the one-shot kill that the 66V rounds are capable of.

99Z Hunter-Killer $600/ Box
Truly a marvel in ammunition engineering, the 99Z is an explosive round that is be set to detonate at a certain distance from the firer. The only major drawback is that each round must be programmed with an electromagnetic scanner before it will detonate at the desired distance. The round will not fire unless the distance is set.

OOC: I think he refers to advanced artificial intelligence systems like those that would be used in attack robots, and therefore would be very well armored. EMP would be the only plausible method for eliminating such foes in short order. It's in the title... Anti-Bot.

Anything like that is probably going to be in thick metal armor, shielded from minor EMPs. I still say a .22 slug is the better bet. Well, OK, if it's in armor, a .22 is kinda wimpy, but a static DU slug could get the job done.
