Prehaps, not that we have any intrest in that area but thats what close and and antimine and missile systems, shields and armor are for. Theres no sure bet any ship entering will be destroyed anymore than there is a guentee that subspace mines will take out an target.

Thanks for the warning. We aren't anywhere near the Ruul system, but we will keep that in mind if we get too close.

We are curious as to how you have managed to mine the outer parimeter of an entire system with your nations current resources... after all, we ar talking about alot of space in which you would have to fill in, not to mention the problems of gravity pulling said mines in towards the centre of the system over time.

A project so huge that it would seem to be impossible to our scientists and current understandings of limited resources and production... why spend trillions on such a project defending a system you can't fully inhabit, why not protect a planet or just have fast ships and sensor arrays?

Eitherway... this project seems so beyond our understanding we feel we must concider it as propergander designed to make us constuct our own complex system in order to damage our economy. So we ignore this warning... it's not like we want to go to Ruul anyways...

Regardless of the signatories of the Vascilian edicts, those who are signatories are within rights to eliminate anything that violates the articles of the edict. While MegaTokyo-3 remains at this moment an autonomous entity in the universe, we also do not look highly upon those who are paranoid enough to spend trillions on a defense project that prevents anyone from entering or leaving the Sol system; this extortionary practice may end up costing you dearly.

Who said you did? your mine field not only endagers the lives of your enemies but those of people who not involved in your conflict. This, this is our problem. It endagers third party observers, aid organizations and other assorted non-combatants.

Soviet Trasa, we do not wish to butt heads with another Communist nation over spacial mines, cease this operation immediately and defeat your enemies honourably.

Ever heard of Mass-production? it's a new invention you should try it once in a while

The mines are quick to make and very easy to lay down, it requires alot of ships though, and we havn't COMPEATLY mined Ruul yet, only partialy

this is a defensive minefield, it's not NEAR earth, about 20 Lightyears from it in the Ruul System

and we are NOT ceasing our minelaying, once their purpous is served we can deactivate them remotly from the TSD Command Center.

With all do repect that would not stop the ships of countries anyway one way other another. Those types of mines are not as much an threat as mines used in a battle.
12-01-2004, 05:13
Trust me, Anti-matter mines are good at their job, we are thinking of researching a cloaking devise to cloak the mines and hide them from our enemies veiw.

Anti-matter is EXTREAMLY dangerous when it comes into contact with ordinary matter, it would go BOOM if it touched even a tiny bit of Matter.

we had to create special contiainers to hold the anti-matter inside and not explode.
Tirah

Yes but it has to an certian type of matter for a reaction to the antimatter. Also some countries do have highly advance battle and and defenseive mine systems and counters even with out armor and powerful sheilds. It does no good if the mines are destoryed before the reach the target.

OOC: isnt one gram of antimatter exploding the same as one hiroshima? or is it more?
12-01-2004, 05:20
hmmm. good point there, we shall also place Weapons Platforms along the outter edge to also protect the Ruul system.

we can build 20 Weapon platforms within 2 NS years (Low Grade ones, but with modifications, average Grade)

OH GOD NO! We've erected playgrounds on the edge of the Ruul System, and now you bastards are putting up land mines right in the middle! Think of the children, man! Do you really want to blow them up!?

I'm not, of course, at all doubting that Trasa has the vast financial resources necessary to undertake such an... uh... undertaking; after all, we have the vast financial resources necessary to place a playground around the entire system. All I'm saying is... FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, RECONSIDER!

Yes... but then again I don't have the technology to produce the kind of quanities of anti-matter you are proposing. I'd rather spend my time making a fleet instead, it requires less looking after.

It's just that a system has alot of space... it doesn't seem much when you have FTL technology (something we are still working on) but it is still alot more space then I can imagine. We are talking of trillions of mines just to cover a small section dense enough to provide a decent mine field.

Maybe it's because my technology is still just bearly future tech and you (IMO) are far-future tech. But it's alot of mines, material and energy... more then my nation (a very large nation at that) could hope to produce in time for a war... or any time really.

Mass Production is cabable of alot... but were looking in replicator technology for this kind of order, in which case we would then be looking at alot of energy.

But don't mind me... this is the last I'll say on the subject. It just all seems so wasteful in my eyes.

What's with all this mining nearby Spathi space? Is there any way to get a strong alliance to keep this kind of threat from affecting our race? After all, it is kind of hard to run away from a mine.

However i would gladly open relations between our respective nations.

We are a race of peaceful aliens. Very peaceful, as in the "scared of anything we can't instantly recognize and vaporize it with our beam weapons until we find out that they are harmless bunnies" kind of peaceful. Seeing as your species has reached near our space, we figure that the less hostile members of your species could help defend us against the more hostile ones of you. That and trade goods and ideas.

Yes, I agree that may'be the nations that were opposed to the minefield should go into trade talks. I know the Vascilian League has always been interested in Resi products, some time ago the Aumanii military purchased a number of Raven assault units, we were very pleased with their performance.

If a nation were to host it, my delegates would attend.

OOC:

'it' being negotiations for inter-galactic trade pact that I'd be interested in partaking. I've been pretty much stuck on Mars and I'd love to get a hold of some interesting and exotic products.
