I recieved an in character threatening TM from a stupid n00b. Is it acceptable to declare war for IC telegrams?

Yes. In fact, often it's acceptable to declare war for absolutely nothing.

If it was sent in character, then you have a very good reason to declare war.

It is not supposed to be acceptable to declare war for OOC things, but it happens all the time. Several nations have a habit of declaring war on nations for exhibiting extreme n00bishness, which I can certainly understand.

Could be. Several older nations like to lure people into a war by creating a puppet nation and have the puppet act like a n00b. Once the war starts, the real nation jumps in as an ally of the alleged n00b.

Ah yes, you do have to worry about a Bear Trap. Of course I personally ignore the nOOb threats as just anoyances unless they actually threaten something reasonable that my government would care about.

I stopped nOOb hunting after crushing China Wright with a few tanks and men and found myself dealing with some f*** multi-capitol ringed with pungi sticks of doom impossible to cross crap. The only thing you get with a nOOb hunt is maybe some funny examples of nOObish godmodding...or fustration...usually you can't kill them, or the you get such phrases as

"the dragons in tanks attack'
"My leader is a all powerful Jesus in a Tank...you lose"
"My 800,000 aircraft are built with 15 inch thick depleted uranium armor so you can't shoot them down..."

its also quite fun to declare for a made up IC reason, and then use technological superiority to utterly destroy the enemy...I know I have!

? I think that your concept (although correct) and a person who makes an out of the blue, IC comment that could start a war (or maybe I'm assuming something that I shouldn't be) are somewhat mutually exclusive? Or perhaps someone is intentionally being an a****** with a puppet just for their own reasons?
