The Gulf States

Today there is another strange twist in the state of Palm Bay. For weeks, Governor Marcus Filtern (C - Derby) has been accused by a gauntlet of politcal rivals over taking kickbacks and hiring state contractors - as well as recieving gifts from those contractors. This controversy led to many compaints of ethics violations, corruption, state and federal investigations, and various cries for resignation or impeachment.
Around 8:17 am on January 6th, Gov. Filtern was spotted at a local donut shop in the city of Lewiston. He left the donut shop at that time, walked to his car. A second person came out of a nearby car and walked over towards the governor. The second man entered into the car forcefully and ordered the governor to drive away. Filtern's car was discovered three days later on the side of Tollway 57 southbound - about 4 miles from the Atlantic Ocean in the town of Orleans. The unidentified second man, rumored to be State Sen. Jorge Quiroga (L - West Orange), was questioned in the disappearance.
However, foreign tourists spotted Gov. Filtern in various locations around the world. Police are investigating some of the credible claims. However, this contradicts the police statements saying Filtern was killed on the night of the 6th.
And in the State Capitol Tower in Palmdale, several state senators and represenatives were having a shootout all on security cameras. About 3 liberals (anti-Filtern) and 4 conservatives (pro-Filtern) were killed, and 11 more have been wounded and/or arrested.
The rest of Palm Bay remains in turmoil, wondering what else can happen to their formerly quiet state. The Gulf States and the world now watches events in Palmdale.
